Entei Raid Counters Pokemon Go Guide
As mentioned above, without dual-typing, theres no way to get a 4x super effective strike against Entei. That makes counters in Ground, Water, and Rock simple but relatively boring. Kyogre, Feraligatr, and Crabhammer Kingler are all excellent choices both in and out of Rainy weather. Whereas those with access to rock-type moves like Smack Down Tyranitar, Rampardos, and Rhyperior will adore Partly Cloudy weather.
Dragons are helpful here due to their natural resistance to Fire-type attacks and potential access to Rock, Ground, and Water attacks.
Who Is Raikou In Pokmon Go
Raikou is part of a trio known as the Legendary Beasts of Johto. Each based on a big cat, the Legendary Beasts were originally three Pokémon who perished in a fire and were reincarnated by the Legendary bird Ho-Oh. Ho-Oh gave each of the Beasts powers based on the events of the fire. Raikou was given Electric powers to represent the lightning strike that started the fire.
In more practical terms, Raikou is the one of the strongest non-Shadow Electric type Pokémon and Shadow Raikou is the strongest Electric type in Pokémon Go. It’s definitely a Pokémon you’ll want in your roster. Even if you already have high IV/CP Raikou already, the extra Raikou Candy will be useful for powering up your Shadow Raikou.

How To Catch Raikou In The Research Event Encounter
If you’re a less-seasoned Pokemon Go trainer, the response once you finally get that Raikou to appear is pretty natural: a mild state of panic as you hope to catch it successfully. Well, don’t panic – it’s all pretty simple in truth.
Ideally you need to be using a berry and a ball – for the best outcome you’ll want to use a Pinap Berry and an Ultra Ball together, since the Pinap Berry will ensure you have extra candy for powering up your Raikou. A razz berry will actually give you a better chance of catching Raikou, mind – but you won’t get the bonus candy. The choice is yours, but keep in mind that this event Raikou won’t flee – you’ll get more than a few shots at it so long as you have the resources.
Remember that Great or Excellent Pokeball throws are more likely to be successful – and if you can combine that with a berry and a curved throw, your success is far more likely. Good luck!

Entei Raid Guide Pokemon Go
This isnt Enteis first rodeo, but returning players will have more counters to work into their teams since its last appearance as a raid boss. Being a Gen 2 Pokemon when were just weeks away from the start of the Pokemon GO Gen 5 release date means there are plenty more Pokemon in the wild capable of taking this thing on.
Entei is a fire-type Pokemon through and through. With so many level 40 trainers strolling around these days, theres one lingering question: Can you solo or duo Entei raids? The quick answer to the first part of that question is no you cant solo Entei raids. Theres no fancy dual typing to exploit like Rayquaza just last week, and without 4x weakness to take advantage off, its a simple case of timing out if Entei doesnt reduce you to ashes before then.
A duo is technically possible, but youd have to have utterly maxed-out counters, best friend bonuses, and the weather on your side to even stand the slightest chance of leaving with the dog on a leash. Stick to high-level trios if you have the counters, or look for more players to fill in the cracks.

Pokemon Go Raikou Raid Hour: Counters Times 100% Iv And Shiny
The legendary beasts were the first to show up after the legendary birds, striding across the stage of Pokemon GO with their curious mix of cat and dog-like qualities. And now, theyre here again, with Raikou currently in the spotlight and showing up in a special raid hour tonight, February 3. Heres what you need to know, from times to counters and what to look for when it comes to shiny and 100% IV.
Times: As per usual, raid hour will take place from 6:00-7:00 PM local time, when gyms will light up with Raikou raids. Remote Raid Passes, however, means that you can fudge this a bit by headed to other time zones as need be.
Counters: Ground. And Ground! Youre going to want some Ground-types. This means that Mammoswine, Rhyperior, Excadrill, Garchomp and Groudon are going to be some of your best bets. Donphan is in the mix as well, as is Landorus: just make sure youre rolling with a full Ground-type moveset if you can. Same goes for if you dont have these particular creatures: try to come to the table with as much ground as you can, and youll be alright. You could use a Krookodile if you, improbably, have one.
100% IV: If youre looking for a 100% IV, and you probably are, youre going to want to look for 1972 CP on your catch under normal circumstances and 2466 if its boosted by Rain, according to LeekDuck.
Pokemon Go Raikou Moveset
Boosted Weather: Rainy100% IVs: 1972 / 2466
Raikou’s moveset is mostly Electric-type, as you’d expect, but there is one curveball in the mixer that can cause some problems. Ground-type Pokemon are the best to resist most of its moves, but since Shadow Ball is a Ghost-type move, avoid using Psychic or Ghost-type Pokemon and you should be fine.

How To Get Johto Slate Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl
To begin with, we have to point out that Entei, Raikou and Suicune are exclusive to Brilliant Diamond. You will also need to have the National Dex, as well as to have defeated the Elite Four and became the Champion. Then, go to the Ramanas Park. It can be found on Route 221. Enter this place, and talk to the Receptionist there. You need to purchase the Discovery Slate three times. To do this, you will need to trade Mysterious Shards for the Discovery Slate. These can be found by mining for them in the Grand Underground.
You then need to use these to get Regice, Regirock, and Registeel. Getting all three of these will then unlock the Johto Slate, where Entei, Suicune, and Raikou can be found.
Pve Offensive Moves Explanation
Thunder Shock has a lower cooldown, faster energy gain, and similar DPS to Volt Switch.
Wild Charge is superior to Thunderbolt. It has 10 extra power for about the same cooldown. Both moves are good, however.
Shadow Ball is great for gym cleaning, but there are better options for Ghost specialists on raids.
- Thunder is too weak for requiring a full bar of charge.

Unfortunately, the event has already ended, so the only way to catch Spritzee is by finding it in the wild.

Raikou Weaknesses And Counters
Raikou is an Electric Pokemon, which means it’s weak to only one type: Ground. Fortunately, there are plenty of those Pokemon in the game, and many are very powerful, so you have a lot of good options to choose from. Groudon, Rhyperior, Golem, and Garchomp are particularly great choices to use.
If you don’t have too many Ground Pokemon in your collection, Grass and Dragon types will also be pretty helpful. Both types resist Electric attacks, which should help them last a bit longer in battle against Raikou than some other Pokemon.

How Good Are Premier Balls Are They Ultra Ball Good
Alas, no. Premier Balls are equivalent to regular Poké Balls, no more, no less. That means they don’t give you any extra bonus when trying to catch a Raid Boss.
What they do is give you chances. You can only use Premier Balls to catch Raid Bosses. You get them by winning Raid Battles and, when you’re out, the Raid Boss flees.
Where To Catch Raikou In Pokmon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl
First, we have bad news for Pokémon Shining Pearl players, as Eitei, Raikou, and Suicune are only present on Pokémon Brilliant Diamond. With that out of the way, Raikou can only be found at Ramanas Park, an area only available in the postgame, after you defeat the Elite Four, Cynthia, and get your National Pokédex. You can get the National Pokédex by visiting Professor Rowan on Sandgem Town after completing your Sinnoh Pokédex.
Once you unlock the area, you just need to head there and exchange your Mysterious Shards for three Johto Slates, which will be used to summon Raikou. After buying the slates, head to the Johto Room, which will be the second room north after entering the outside area of Ramanas Park. After finding the room, enter and place all the slates into the pedestal as the first one will summon Suicune, the second Entei, and the third Raikou. To recap, heres how to get Raikou in both Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl:
- Get the National Pokédex.

Best Counters For Raikou In Pokemon Go
- Garchomp: Being resistant to Electric moves, the Ground-and-Dragon-type Garchomp is the perfect Pokemon to take down Raikou with Mud Shot and Earthquake.
- Groudon: A fan-favorite Legendary from Gen 3, the dinosaur Groudon is a strong fighter that can utilize Ground-type moves Mud Shot and Earthquake.
- Rhyperior: First introduced in the Sinnoh region, Rhyhorns final evolution Rhyperior is a good choice to take on Raikou with Mud-Slap and Earthquake.
- Excadrill: This mole-inspired Gen 5 Pokemon has a number of resistances including Electric. Use Mud-Slap and Drill Run to help you defeat Raikou.
- Landorus: Another Legendary Pokemon that will aid you well in this fight is the Unova regions Landorus, with the moves Mud Shot and Earth Power performing best.
Garchomp is arguably the best when battling Raikou, but any of the above Pokemon will work. If you dont have any of them in your roster, some more common alternatives that should also be effective include Mamoswine, Donphan, and Golem.
Veteran players could probably take down Raikou in a duo, but wed recommend having at least four trainers to give you a good chance at success.
While fellow Legendary beast Entei has already been and gone this year, trainers have still got Suicune to look forward to. The Water-type will return to the game in five-star raids from February 4 to February 9.
How To Catch Raikou
Once a player has defeated Raikou, aside from the standard awards for completing a raid, they will be given a bonus opportunity to catch the Legendary dog. As with any Raid Boss, only a Premier Ball can be used, which has a standard catch rate with no bonuses. There are some berries that a player can use to increase their chances.
- Razz Berry: Increases chance of capture success by 1.5 times
- Golden Razz Berry: Increases chance of capture success by 2.5 times
- Silver Pinap Berry: Increases chance of capture success by 1.8 times and multiplies 2.333 times the rewards a trainer is given for capturing a Pokemon
The Golden Razz Berry would probably be the best to use, as it gives the best capture multiplier. They can be collected from Raid Battles or by completing Research Tasks.
Remember, time is running short to get Raikou, so take this new-found knowledge and get out there, trainers.

How To Beat And Catch Raikou
After a month of or so of hunting down legendary birds, it’s time for Pokemon GO avid gamers to make a run on the mythical canine. The trio of new Legendaries are now available and avid gamers in America are tasked with combating Raikou for the following 30 days. To pull this off, avid gamers will want to know which Pokemon take into combat towards the brand new Legendary Battle Raid boss.
Raikou is one of the vital 3 Legendary Beasts from the Johto Region. This one is an electric-type, so Pokemon GO gamers should have already got a decent roster of fighters able if they have got been completing combat raids all over the summer. This electric-type only has one weak point, so that manner it is time to carry your best possible ground-type buddies back into the roster.
These are the 3 Pokemon we propose the usage of against Raikou, and which transfer sets you will have to equip them with:
Golem – Mud Slap and Stone Edge
Rhydon – Mud Slap and Stone Edge
Tyranitar – Bite and Stone Edge
Obviously, Stone Edge is going to be your go-to charged assault towards Raikou whenever possible. It’s a little more difficult to guarantee that transfer now that TMs are dropping less frequently, however avid gamers should do their absolute best to get that charged attack able.
Good luck in the market trainers!

Pokemon Go Raikou Research Event: How To Catch This Electric Legendary With Field Research
The latest Pokemon Go research event is live – and it’s giving players the chance to catch Raikou, the legendary dog Pokemon introduced in Gold and Silver.
We’re officially in August, and that means Pokemon Go’s next research event is live and will continue to be so for the next few weeks. This time around the event allows players a guaranteed opportunity to encounter and attempt to catch Raikou. Raikou is one of the legendary dogs first introduced in Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal as a follow-up to Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, and like the legendary birds each of the three mythical dogs fits a core Pokemon type – Suicune is Water-type, Entei is fire-type, and Raikou, who you have a chance to catch in this Raikou research event, is electric.
Raikou’s type is actually one of the things that makes this event particularly special and worth following up on: when it comes to the electric-type, Raikou is one of the best Pokemon in Pokemon Go, and electric can prove a pretty useful type thanks to its type strengths and weaknesses – electric Pokemon will wreck Flying and Water Pokemon in particular, and there’s some good gym defenders that fit those types. A good Electric Pokemon is a vital team staple, and Raikou outpaces Zapdos and Eevee evolution Jolteon. What we’re saying, basically, is that you definitely want to catch one of these guys for your team, if not just for Pokedex-filling.
