Why Do You Need To Hatch Eggs Faster

The answer is simple. To save you time. Hatching eggs feels unnecessarily long in Pokémon games. Eggs hatch based on how many steps you take. Some Pokémon eggs take a lot of steps before they hatch. A Bulbasaur egg, for example, will take around 5,000 steps before it hatches. So if youre looking to breed Pokémon with specific natures and stats for competitive play or just trying to get a shiny Pokémon, youll want the best and fastest way to crack open these eggs.

The Female Parent Determines What Hatches From Eggs

Best Way To Hatch Eggs In Pokemon Sword

When breeding with different species, its important to know there are several consistencies surrounding what will hatch from each egg, with the female parent always dictating the species that’ll hatch. This is much of why some Pokémon like Eevee and starter Pokémon are more frequently male, as it makes breeding them more challenging.

Alongside the species, the other thing that will pass down based on the female parent is the hatched Pokémons Pokéball. Older games had any hatched Pokémon come in a Pokéball, but newer games like Pokémon Sword & Shield will pass down the mothers Pokéball, giving a unique look in the Pokémon Center and a special entrance effect any time theyre sent into battle.

Travel around with your bike, do Pokemon battles, or anything you want to let time pass by for the egg to be ready. After some time, check if the lady outside the nursery is holding her chin, this indicates that an egg has been made.

Go ahead and get the egg and it will be instantly placed into your party given that it has space.

Before I tell you exactly what to do, what you are going to initially need is the Flame Body ability on any Pokemon. What this does is, keeps the Pokemon in your party warm and consequently, lowers the time required to hatch the egg in your inventory, drastically.

The Pokemon you are going to need is Carkol or Coalossal. Simply evolve your Rolycoly into a Carkol which will eventually evolve into Coalossal. You can find them in Galar Mine, Giants Cap, Stony Wilderness, Bridge Field or in Max Raid Battles. Once you have them, check if they have the Flame Body ability. If they do, then you are set to go, if not, then it might take a few more tries to finally get what you want.

Hatching the EggsWe will now have a Pokemon with the Flame Body ability. What you want to do now is, move out all the unnecessary Pokemon, and just keep your Pokemon with the Flame Body ability and all the Eggs. There are two ways you can do this, both methods are fast. One is automated while the other is a bit more manual.

What makes an Egg hatch is how much the Trainer moves. So, what you want to do to automate this process is. Go into options, and check for the Vertical and Horizontal Camera Controls. Put them on the Regular Setting.

An alternative method, should you will to use it, is to go to the Route 5 Nursery, and simply go up and down until the egg hatches.

What Is The Fastest Way To Hatch An Egg

There is no way to hatch eggs faster. The only thing you can do is use more than one incubator at one time to hatch multiple eggs at the same time. The faster you go, obviously the more ground you cover in a shorter amount of time. The speed limit is around 15MPH , so going any faster than that will not count toward your progress.

Ride Your Bike Or Skateboard

If youre still looking for exercise while hatching your Pokemon Go eggs, then bicycling or skateboarding is another option.

The game is smart enough to know if youre going too fast that youre not walking, but as long as you keep your bicycle or skateboard moving at a reasonable pace, the game will think youre walking, not biking.

The benefit of this method is that it requires significantly less effort to cover the distance, and you can typically cover it faster than via walking!

To hatch your eggs while riding a bike or skateboard, do the following steps.

Step 1: Affix your phone to your bike or skateboard, or carry it with you in your pocket.

Step 2: Find a reasonable pace that makes the app think youre walking and go for that pace for most of the ride!

Pro Tips

As a bonus, you can use your bike to cover more area and, if you affix it to your bike, so its visible, you can also be on the lookout for new Pokemon!

How To Hatch Eggs Faster In Pokemon Sun And Moon:

There are several different techniques to speed up the hatching process, making it a lot less time consuming and convenient.

Use Your Tauros:

A quick way to hatch an egg is by riding your Tauros and press the B button to charge. You can run in a straight line if you want, or running in circles works too. The best place to run in a straight line, while on your Tauros, is on Akala Island. Heahea City and Route 6 provide a straight path that players can charge through without interruption.

You can also run around in circles, however, that can take its toll on your thumb pad. There is no specific place to do this, so you can do this wherever you want.

Hot Springs In Poke Pelago:

A great way to hatch eggs is by using the hot springs of Poke Pelago. If you dont want to carry an egg around, and would prefer leaving it somewhere to hatch, then the Hot Springs of Poke Pelago is the ideal place. Simply leave the egg there to incubate, and come back later to see what Pokemon hatched from the egg.

Use Flame Body or Magma Armor:

Pokemon abilities can have an impact on how quickly your Pokemon Eggs hatch. Pokemon such as Moltres, Magmar, Slugma, Volcarona, Ponyta, etc have abilities called Flame Body or Magma Armor. Having a Pokemon in your party that has any of these abilities can speed up the hatching process by up to 100%.

How To Breed Shiny Pokmon

How To Hatch Eggs Fast

The Masuda Method is the main way to breed Shiny Pokémon. This method is slightly more involved, as it requires players to first acquire one of the parent Pokémon from another player who is playing the game in a language other than yours, and then breeding it. This makes the resulting Pokémon a whopping six times more likely to be Shiny and brings the odds down to 1 out of 683. With the Shiny Charm, this goes down to 1 out of 512. The easiest thing to do is to trade for a foreign Ditto and then breed with any other Pokémon to have a shot at a non-Ditto Shiny offspring.

Note that this method is still a theory and has therefore not been confirmed in Sword & Shield. The Masuda Method was confirmed with these stats for Pokémon Sun & Moon and is likely to be the same or similar in the new games. However, it’s important to keep in mind that a consensus has not yet been reached.

Pokmon Sword And Shield: How Long Do Pokmon Eggs Take To Hatch

The waiting game for you to be a new parent.

Pokémon breeding makes a return in Pokémon Sword and Shield, being available to you shortly after you beat the first gym and Route 5 opens up. Once the two Pokémon have bumped uglies and you receive an egg, how long does this Pokémon Egg take to hatch in Pokémon Sword and Shield?

From our observations, it can take 25-30 real-time minutes for a Pokémon Egg to hatch in Pokémon Sword and Shield. That will be a little longer if its for a rarer Pokémon. Those minutes do not count if you are idle in a menu, you need to be making steps in-game either on your bike or by foot.

A Pokémon Egg will never hatch if its in a box, so you need to make room in your party for it. You, for obvious reasons, cannot use a Pokémon Egg in a battle, but wed love to see how that looked.

Theres a quicker method of making eggs hatch in Pokémon Sword and Shield, but its a little cheesy. With a Pokémon with the Flame Body ability in your party, it will make the egg hatch quicker. You can then just spin around in a circle by holding the right stick to the left and moving the left joystick right, which will speed up the hatching process. More details about this process are in the video below, but it will still take 10 minutes.

Pokémon Sword and Shield are out now on Nintendo Switch.

You can also use a Gold Bottle Cap to Hyper Train all of a Pokemon’s stats, so they all work as “Best”.

You have to make sure that you take two Pokemon of the same type and egg group this is essential for making an egg, failure to do so will result in disappointment.

  • To see all the Pokemons egg groups you can check via Serebiis Pokedex. You have to place the Pokemon of the same egg group and the opposite gender in a nursery and they will produce an egg.
  • You can breed almost any type of a Pokemon with a Ditto if you cannot find the opposite gender, this is only applicable to non Legendary and Mythical Pokémon.
  • To catch a Ditto you will have to go to Lake of Outrage, and once you have it you can drop off the Pokemon to breed with Ditto at any of the two nurseries. You can find one at Bridge Field zone in the Wild Area and one on Route 5.
  • After you drop off the Pokemon with the nursery worker, you can go away and then come back after sometime. Once the egg is ready the nursery worker will change her hand position to a more thinking position.
  • You can then ask the nursery worker about the condition of the Pokemon and she will tell you about the compatibility.
  • The compatibility of the Pokemon depends on how long it takes for the egg to be produced.

After you beat Leon, you can go and take on Game Freak designer Shigeki Morimoto in Hotel Ionia in Circhester. If you are successful, you will be rewarded with an Oval Charm which will help you produce more eggs when you give your Pokemon away for breeding.

How Fast Can You Walk To Hatch A Pokmon Egg

Its currently believed the optimal speed for hatching a Pokémon Go is 10.5 KM/H . Go slower, and itll just take you longer to hatch. Go faster, and Pokémon Go will discount the distance youre traveling or, if you go fast enough, ignore it altogether.

If you reach 35 KM/H , youll get the speed-lock popup. At that point, little if any of your distance will be counted.

Do You Have To Travel In A Straight Line

Pokémon Go measures distance in a straight line based on the change in GPS position. So, to get maximum distance, you should travel in a straight line too.

Its believed that Pokémon Go actually records distance more frequently, though. Somewhere between one to four times a minute. So, you could theoretically change direction after a minute or so and still get good results.

Ditto is a very special Pokémon. It can breed with most Pokémon, regardless of gender , and the egg produced will always belong to its partner. Parents From Different Regions Provide More Shinies

There are several spectacular benefits that make Pokémon breeding worthwhile, but one long-running issue with the Pokémon series is that it doesnt truly tell you why the Nurseries are such valuable in the first place. Simply put, there are two main reasons trainers should breed, with the first being a greater chance to obtain unique shiny Pokémon.

Breeding is a great way to get many Pokémon fast, but breeding a Pokémon you own with one from a different region will substantially increase the odds of it being shiny. Its still bound to be a long grind with slim chances, but breeding is the most efficient way to grind for a specific shiny in Pokémon Sword & Shield.
