With Giovanni being a tough battle and possibly even tougher to just reach him, the reward for defeating him has always been worth it. His sudden and mysterious disappearance likely means that a new legendary Pokemon will be offered as the final challenge and reward for Giovanni’s defeat. It most likely won’t be any of the legendary Pokemon that he’s used in the past, so it’s important to look back on the timeline of what he’s used over time.

How To Purify Shadow Pokmon In Pokmon Go

Now that you’ve rescued a Shadow Pokémon from Team Go Rocket, it’s time to purify it.

First, you’ll want to find your chosen Shadow Pokémon in your Pokémon storage. Shadow Pokémon have a purple flame next to their picture, like how Shiny Pokémon have a set of silver stars.

Once you’ve picked a Shadow Pokémon, you’ll discover that there is a new option available above ‘Power Up’ and ‘Evolve’ – Purify.

Purifying a Shadow Pokémon will cost a specific amount of Stardust and Candy depending on which Pokémon you want to Purify and how strong it is. A Squirtle, for example, will need 2,000 Stardust and 2 Squirtle Candy to be purified, while a Blastoise will require 5,000 Stardust and 5 Squirtle Candy.

Since Persian is a Normal-type Pokémon, the best way to beat it is to bring a Fighting-type Pokémon, such as Machamp, Lucario, Hitmonchan or Blaziken. Persian typically uses Normal, Dark, Fairy and Rock move sets.

Kangaskhan will be one of the three Pokémon that Giovanni can send out as his second choice. It is a Normal-type Pokémon that can demonstrate a really powerful offence.

Once you’ve completed the “A Troubling Situation” special research quest, you’re eligible to receive the “Looming in the Shadows” quest.

This special research has six steps that will give you a Super Rocket Radar, which allows you to fight Giovanni.

The “Looming in the Shadows” quest is unique in that you can receive it once per month. As a result, Giovanni can only be fought once per month. If you complete one month’s research in the following month , you’ll receive the February research immediately after completing the January research. If you complete the February research in February, you’ll need to wait until March to get the research again.

Giovanni’s Possible Next Legendary Pokemon

One of the biggest benefits of defeating Giovanni is getting the chance to capture one of his legendary shadow Pokemon. Which Pokemon he’s using has rotated over the months before his disappearance, but there is a big candidate for what he might come back with.

The most likely scenario is Shadow Lugia, considering that his previous shadow legendary was Ho-Oh. What would make this so important and give a good reason for a break is that Shadow Lugia appeared before Pokemon GO in Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. This Lugia has a completely original color pallete and is known as one of the strongest Shadow Pokemon ever created.

If Shadow Lugia were to appear in its Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness form, it would likely be connected to an event that has yet to be announced. This is due to the unique features of this legendary Pokemon and the fact that Super Rocket Radars are usually only distributed through research tasks and events.

How To Find And Beat Giovanni In Pokmon Go August 2020

Prepare your team wisely.

As anyone who has dealt with Team Rocket could have predicted, Giovanni is the one giving out commands for Team GO Rocket in Pokémon Go.

And with all of the Rocket Balloons floating above the overworld, you should prepare yourself for a clash against the big boss and his rotation of powerful Shadow Pokémon.

As always, you can still encounter Giovanni by completing the special GO Rocket themed monthly Timed-Research that Professor Willow assigns, but now you can find him in balloons too. That research, titled A Shadowy Threat Grows, is part of a larger set of tasks that you will need to complete before battling the boss.

Following the completion of both the Troubling Situation and A Professors Work is Never Done Special Research, players will receive a Super Rocket Radar, which is needed to locate Giovanni.

After going into your bag and equipping the Super Rocket Radar, you will be pointed to the location of GO Rockets boss. Several Rocket Grunts have disguised themselves as Giovanni to throw you off his trail, however.

You will need to visit captured PokéStops to weed out the fakes and discover the real Giovanni and take him on in battle. And, if you have the Super Rocket Radar equipped, he might also spawn in a Rocket Balloon, though the decoys can also spawn in them too.

His next Pokémon will be one of three Ground-type options, with two being much stronger than the other option.
