What Is The Latest Pokemon Game

Pokmon Firered And Leafgreen

The NEW 2021 Pokemon Game is Already Here!

The next titles on our complete list of Pokémon games are Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.

These next two installments are enhanced remakes of the original Red and Blue Pokémon games and were developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for the Game Boy Advance worldwide in 2004.

Theyre both considered part of the third generation of the Pokémon video game series and are the first enhanced remakes of previous games with the franchise.

They reflect the same style as previous games in the series and follow the protagonist on their journey to Pokémon mastery.

FireRed and LeafGreen received positive reviews from critics, with praise directed toward the games graphics and new features.

To date, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen have sold approximately 12 million copies worldwide.

Appearances In Other Games

Several Pokémon PC games were released for Microsoft Windows and Macintosh. Games from the franchise were also released in Japan for Sega consoles Pico and Advanced Pico Beena. Pokémon are also in for Nintendo 64DD as pasteable stickers, and they also appear in Picross NP Vol. 1 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

Ultra Sun And Moon Are The Last 3ds Pokemon Games

Enjoy Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon as that’s it for Pokemon on Nintendo’s aging handheld.

On November 17, Nintendo will release Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon for the 3DS handheld. Developer Game Freak has now confirmed that they will be the last new core Pokemon games released for the 3DS, meaning the future of Pokemon is going to be fully-focused on the Switch hybrid console.

In total, there are eight core Pokemon games for the 3DS. In 2013 we got Pokemon X and Y, then in 2014 we got Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. 2016 saw the release of Pokemon Sun and Moon , and then next month we get Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Those last two games feature an alternate storyline set in the Sun and Moon world.

As to why there will be no more Pokemon on 3DS, beyond the age of the system it’s down to Game Freak pushing the 3DS to its limits. Speaking with IGN, Game Freak director Shigeru Ohmori explained that the development team thought Pokemon X and Y had stretched the 3DS as far as it could go, but they were wrong. Pokemon Sun and Moon underwent a complete redesign and managed to push the system yet further.

Last but not least of the games announced earlier this year is Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It serves as a prequel to Pokémon Diamond & Pearl and in turn the Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl games. It is expected to be out around a year from now.

While it will honor the core gameplay of the games that have become for it, Pokémon Legends: Arceus makes history because it is the first action-RPG in the main series and Game Freaks first attempt at that sub-genre of games.

The reveal trailer saw many fans comparing the environment, gameplay, and general cinematic style to that of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The game is set to feature an open-world setting that is an extension of the Wild Area that was introduced in Pokémon Sword & Shield . Though it hasnt been confirmed, its speculated that the objective of the game will be to create Sinnohs first Pokédex.

Pokmon Black 2 & White 2

New Pokémon Mobile Battle Game Announced

Next up, we have Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 for the 3DS.

Like the other RPGs, Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 are an action role-playing video game thatre part of the fifth generation of the Pokémon video game series and are the sequels to Pokémon Black and White.

Released worldwide in 2012, theyre the first sequel in the series and feature the legendary Pokémon, Black Kyurem and White Kyurem.

The games are set approximately two years after the events of Black and White and are set in the Unova region. They feature 300 new Pokémon and creatures that were not featured in Black and White.

Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 received good reviews from critics and had combined sales of 7.81 million by January 2013.

Theyre available to play in both single-player and multiplayer.

One of the other games announced in celebration of Pokémons 25th anniversary was Pokémon Brilliant Diamond& Shining Pearl. It will be an enhanced remake of Pokémon Diamond & Pearl which is a fourth-generation game that was released on the Nintendo DS in 2006 in Japan .

The return to Sinnoh is highly anticipated amongst fans. The Diamond& Pearl games were a key turning point in the Pokémon series because they were a step up from previous games and showed fans what the future of the franchise would be. Fourth-generation is where online battling and trading was first introduced so its only fitting that it comes back around here. Aside from the obvious graphical changes, the remakes are believed to be faithful.

Interestingly, the games are being developed by ICLA and overseen by Game Freak, when usually the latter is the main developer. This makes this the first time a main series Pokémon game where Game Freak is not the lead developer.

Pokmon Ruby & Sapphire

Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire are role-playing games for the Game Boy Advance, developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company.

Theyre the first games in the third Pokémon series of games and were released internationally in 2003.

Like the previous RPGs weve mentioned, Ruby & Sapphire follows the journey of a Pokémon trainer whos main objective is to capture all the Pokémon in the game and defeat the Elite Four.

New features like Pokémon abilities and double battles were added, as well as 135 new Pokémon.

The games were a commercial success overall, despite some initial negative criticism, as they sold over sixteen million copies worldwide, making them the best-selling titles for the Game Boy Advance.

Pokmon Heartgold & Soulsilver

The seventh-best Pokémon game of all time is Pokémon Heart Gold and Silver.

Released on the Nintendo DS in 2009, HeartGold and SoulSilver are the improved versions of Pokémon Gold and Silver, which were released in 1999.

Both games were developed by Game Freak and are part of the fourth generation of the Pokémon video game series.

It takes place in the Johto and Kanto regions and the trainers goal is to become the best trainer in both regions. Along the way, trainers will capture, raise, battle and catalogue all sorts of Pokémon, whilst defeating their trainers.

After receiving commercial success upon release, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, combined, became the eighth best-selling DS video games of all time!

The Best Pokemon Games Ranked From Worst To Best

This NEW POKEMON GAME is INCREDIBLE! Pokemon XENOVERSE Nuzlocke!

Just what are the best Pokemon games in the core series? Over the years, we’ve seen eight generations of Pokemon games on Nintendo’s handheld consoles. With so many choose from in the ever-evolving franchise, it can be hard to rank all of them from worst to best. Some added new features to bring something fresh and new to the series, while others stuck to that classic formula we’ve come to know and love. And certain Pokemon games may hold a special nostalgic factor for different players.

Of course, when it comes to Pokemon, we’ve also seen some fantastic spin-offs such as Pokemon Go, the classic Pokemon Trading Card Game for the GameBoy, and Pokemon Let’s Go, to name a few. But this list is focusing solely on the core series. With Pokemon Legends: Arceus coming next year and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl on the horizon, now’s a better time than any to look back on the series so far. From the most recent Pokemon Sword and Shield to Pokemon Red and Blue, we’ve ranked all of the best Pokemon games from worst to best. Which one will take our number one spot? Read on to find out.

Kanto Trip: Pokmon: Let’s Go Pikachu

This gorgeous game reimagines the Kanto region from the first Pokémon game and allows players to revisit the fun with upgraded graphics. Players start with a special Pikachu who follows them around and can wear fun clothes. Pokémon fights are mainly limited to trainer and gym battles. Most wild Pokémon are simply caught by throwing a Poké Ball. Players will need to trade with Let’s Go, Eevee players to catch all of the Pokémon in the game.

Release Date: February 12th 2020

Perhaps this is a little unfair considering Pokémon HOME isnt a game per se, but its still an official Pokémon application available on the Switch, so we decided to include it anyway. Its completely free and acts ascloud-based storage for Pokémon.

There is a mobile version of the game and of course, a Switch version. The Switch version boasts some exclusive features, including access to the Basic Box where 30 Pokémon can be stored. Pokémon from Lets Go Pikachu!, Lets Go Eevee! and Pokémon Sword & Shield can all be stored here.

A key criticism of HOME is that if you really want to use the full breadth of it and if youre a hardcore Pokémon player, theres a good chance that youll have to pay for the Premium plan which allows you to store up to 6,000 Pokémon. A 30-day subscription will cost you $2.69 while a full year will put you $14.39 out of pocket.

Two New Pokemon Games Debut on Facebook Gaming

Pokkén Tournament DX is an enhanced version of Pokkén Tournament that was first teased way back in 2013. It was released for Arcade in 2015, Wii U in 2016, and the Switch in 2017.

In Germany and Austria, the game is known as Pokémon Tekken, which should give you an idea about what kind of game it is. Its a fighting game with a focus on action. Of all of the versions released, the Switch is the only one that has all 23 Pokémon in it.

The game is considered underrated and one of the better fighting titles you can get on the Nintendo Switch, with extra praise going to the Switch version.

Pokemon Diamond And Pearl Remakes

Ever since the release of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen in 2004, Game Freak, Nintendo, and The Pokemon Company have consistently remade each Pokemon generation for newer platforms. The latest set of remakes, not counting the Let’s Go games, were Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire on the 3DS in 2014. There’s been about five years between each of the Pokemon remakes, so Pokemon fans are technically overdue for Diamond and Pearl remakes.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl marked the franchise’s debut on the Nintendo DS, and they launched with a number of improvements and innovations for the franchise. Some aspects of Diamond and Pearl may not have aged particularly well, but those issues could be ironed out in remakes. Out of all the possibilities listed here, it seems as though Diamond and Pearl remakes are the most likely possibilities, especially since Time Diamond and Space Pearl titles leaked alongside Pokemon Sword and Shield back in 2017.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team Dx

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX–a Nintendo Switch remake of Blue Rescue Team on Nintendo DS and Red Rescue Team on Game Boy Advance–poses the question: What would you do if you woke up one morning as a Pokemon? This dungeon-crawling RPG assigns you a Pokemon based on the results of a cute personality test, and after waking up in the Pokemon world, you soon meet up with other Pokemon to form a rescue team, going on missions and helping those in need. As you’ve been unknowingly transformed into a Pokemon, you can now understand and converse with your kind beyond the standard repetition of Pokemon names humans hear. Rescue Team DX also has a great story at its core as you slowly unravel the mystery of why you became a Pokemon in the first place. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX gives the original games one heck of a glow-up with a vivid new painterly style that pops beautifully. A heartwarming story and new coat of paint make Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX a worthy entry for Pokemon fanatics.

Do You Care More About Single

Some of the best single-player Pokémon experiences of all time were from the DS era in Pokémon Platinum, Pokémon Black and White, and Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 versions, which all received high praise upon release. However, old Pokémon titles available on Gameboy still trigger nostalgic feelings with hardcore Pokemon players. Aside from the very first generation of games, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, and Emerald probably provide the best nostalgia trips combined with relatively modern gameplay quality of life features.

If you care about experiencing Pokémon multiplayer and battling other trainers, you will need a newer title. Whether you opt for joining the 3DS competitive scene in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon or jump right into the latest main series titles on the Nintendo Switch, it will be important to consider additional costs. To use online services on the Switch, for example, you need to subscribe to Nintendos online service. Suppose you want to transfer Pokémon from previous generations of games to join you in battle in the most recent titles. In that case, you will need a variety of consoles and software to deliver an old Pokémon friend to a new game safely.

5 New Main Pokémon Games for 2021

In 1999, Pokémon Snap was released for the Nintendo 64 in North America, and to this day, the community is split on how good it was. Some consider it one of the better Pokémon spinoff games ever, while some think it was a little boring. The concept of the game is that youre a photographer called Todd Snap, and you travel around the world, taking pictures of different Pokémon species. Once youve taken 60 pictures, you take them back to Professor Oak, who rates each one.

Its a simple concept that could be perfect for you depending on what kind of games you like. Next month, Bandai Namco Studios are putting out the sequel.

While the original was criticized for only including 63 Pokémon, New Pokémon Snap will feature over 200 different Pokémon. Now, youll traverse through jungles, beaches, and deserts on your hovercraft to take your photos and will take them to Professor Mirror who helps judge them with the help of Rita and Phil. Photos can now be retouched and shared online where the most liked pictures will be shared in-game.

A new addition is the Illumina phenomenon, which was teased at the end of the trailer. Youre tasked with helping to investigate it.

Pokemon Let’s Go Gold And Silver

Pokemon GO remains a juggernaut in the mobile gaming space, standing as one of the most consistently popular mobile games ever made. It’s no surprise that Game Freak wanted to capitalize on Pokemon GO‘s success, and it did so with Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee, which recreated the original Pokemon games with updated graphics and more Pokemon GO-style gameplay. While not everyone was a fan of this style of Pokemon game, it does have its appeal, and many would be excited to see the Johto region games, Gold and Silver, get a similar treatment down the line. If nothing else, these Let’s Go games could help fill the gap between proper new Pokemon releases.

Feudal Sinnoh: Pokmon Legends: Arceus
