Catching Meltan Using Pokmon: Lets Go
If you have either Pokémon: Lets Go game, you can get Meltan much faster. Once you get to Fuchsia City in the game, youll notice that the old Safari Zone has been replaced completely with the Go Park. The Go Park allows you to transfer Pokémon from PokémonGo to Lets Go.
If you transfer any Pokémon, youll be rewarded with a Mystery Box. Activate the Mystery Box in Go and Meltan will begin to spawn around you for 30 minutes, similarly to how Incense works. You can repeat this every seven days for a new Mystery Box and for more Meltan. With Pinap Berries, youll have enough candy to evolve your Meltan in no time.

Shiny hunters have been given the chance of adding a brand new variant to their Pokemon Go collection.
Shiny Meltans are now available to catch in the game as part of a new event that involves grabbing a Mystery Box and opening it.
The new celebration was announced earlier this week as part of the Lunar New Year and would only be available for a limited time.
As mentioned in the Niantic announcement, Trainers can now open more Mystery Boxes than usual, giving them a better chance of catching a Shiny Meltan.
So how do you get a Mystery Box as a Pokemon Go Trainer?
Its all connected to the games link with Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu on Nintendo Switch.
Trainers with Pokémon: Lets Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Lets Go, Eevee! can send Pokémon from Pokémon Go to their Nintendo Switch.
This is just like transferring Pokémon to Professor Willow, giving players the chance to earn Candy for each Pokémon they send.
These Pokémon will appear in the GO Park complex in Lets Go and come with a special bonus.

How To Connect Pokemon Go To Pokemon Switch
The trainers with Pokemon let can send Pokemon from Pokemon Go to Nintendo switch. Like transferring the pokemon to Professor Willow, the trainers will earn candy to send their Pokemon to the switch. These pokemons will appear in the Go Park complex of your Pokemon Letâs Go.

The short answer is: not anymore. Shiny Meltan has been available for a few week-long events over the years, sharing a close relationship with its spiritual successor Pokemon Lets Go. Then players will receive a mystery box in Pokemon GO. After opening this box, Meltans will appear for an hour afterwards.
How Does The Mystery Box In Pokmon Go Work
Tap on Mystery Box to open your Mystery Box.
For one hour, catch every Meltan you can!
Note: the Mystery Box will lure Meltan to your location for one hour only. Make sure you have an hour to dedicate to catching as many as possible. Also make sure you have plenty of space in your Pokémon Storage, as well as plenty of PokéBalls. I also recommend using Pinap Berries to maximize the number of Meltan Candies you earn. Once the hour is up, you’ll need to wait at least three days before you can charge it again however, you can continue to recharge your box by transferring a Pokémon from Go to HOME again.

Can Meltan Be Shiny
While Shiny Meltans dont spawn when using Mystery Boxes normally, during the Fifth Anniversary Event Shiny Meltan will be available.
With three hours from July 6 to 15 to pick one up for yourself, heres our top tips:
- Run around in-game until you find Shiny Meltan.
- Make sure youve got lots of the best Poke Ball variants, after all, we dont want it to escape!
- If you encounter a non-Shiny Meltan, leave and find another. Dont waste time catching them, as you only have 60 minutes every 3 days.
- Make sure you use Berries when you find a Shiny Meltan so it doesnt flee before you catch it!

Even if you havent used Pokémon HOME yet, youre still going to want to link an account to your Pokémon Go account for two reasons: Melmetal and Meltan. The Mythical steel types, Meltan and Melmetal are the only Pokémon to be introduced outside of the core games and animation, having been introduced specifically in Pokémon Go. However, outside of a single Special Research line, the only way to get Meltan was by linking a Lets Go, Pikachu! or Lets Go, Eevee! game to your Pokémon Go account and transferring Pokémon there.
Now, by linking your Pokémon GO and Pokémon HOME accounts and transferring a Pokémon, you will get a Mystery Box in Pokémon Go and a special Gigantamax Melmetal in Pokémon HOME. Shiny Meltans are returning to Pokemon Go this week and the only way to catch one is by opening a Mystery Box.
The new Pokemons shiny variant was added to the game earlier this year and proved trick for some Trainers to catch.
This was partly due to needing a Nintendo Switch and a copy of Lets Go Pikachu, and problems with linking Pokemon Go.
These issues were eventually solved but fans who might have missed out will be pleased to hear that theyre getting another chance.
Niantic announced today that Trainers will soon be able to open more Mystery Boxes than usual, giving them a better chance of catching a Shiny Meltan.
Shiny Meltan is returning to the game tomorrow, April 24, at around 9pm in the UK.

The Mystery Box in Pokemon Go holds many small wonders within its dark and mystifying outer shell. These small wonders are known as Meltan, the latest addition to the family of mythical Pokemon.
Right now theres only one way to get the little puddle of molten metal, and thats with a Mystery Box. Pop open that container and youll be able to get 9 to 10 Meltan over the course of 30 minutes.

How To Get Pokemon Go Mystery Box Fifth Anniversary
To get a Mystery Box in Pokemon Go during the fifth anniversary celebration, youll need to have a Nintendo Switch and a copy of Pokemon Lets Go Eevee or Pikachu. Why? Because the only real way to obtain the Mysterious Boxes is to transfer any creature from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Lets Go . Once you have all that settled, and before you make the transfer, be sure to stock up on PokeBalls just in case. Then, complete the transfer and youll get a Pokemon Go Mystery Box on your account. As soon as you open it, a wild Meltan should appear next to your avatar. All thats left to do is capture it. As far as we know, that is the only way to get Meltan in Pokemon Go and eventually evolve it into Melmetal.
What makes things a little bit more complicated is that you can only obtain a Mystery Box every three days, and only during certain events. In the case of the fifth anniversary of Pokemon Go, youll be able to get the boxes from July 6 to July 15. So, ideally, thats three opportunities to get your hands on a Meltan. How To Get Meltan Box Or Mystery Box
Well, the answer is pretty simple, you need to connect the Pokemon Go with Nintendo Switchâs Pokemon. And, it is the only way to get hold of the mystery box in pokemon go. Basically, soon as you get the connection established between Pokemon Go and Nintendo Switchâs Pokemon Letâs Go, it will receive the mystery box. Then, to activate the mystery box you have to open it in the usual manner. As a result, you can see that it is attracting the MELTON pokemon around you. This mystery box will remain open for or only 30 minutes. But the matter of fact is this mystery box opens only once in a week. So, if youâve opened the mystery box pokemon go, you need to wait for an entire week to reopen it.
How Can Trainers Get A Free Meltan Encounter In Pokemon Go
There are two methods to getting a Mystery Box: either trading a Pokemon to Pokemon Home or trading one to the Nintendo Switch.
Trading one to Pokemon Home is usually the easier method, especially since its accessible to players who dont own a Nintendo Switch.
The process for this is as follows:
- Tap on the Poke Ball icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Go to the Settings menu
- Look for the Pokemon Home section
- Log in to Nintendo Account
- Back out, reopen the settings, and go back to Pokemon Home
From there, it will let the player scroll down to see which Pokemon they want to send. Once they pick one, their selection will be traded, and a Mystery Box will be on its way.
Its important to note, however, that each trade takes up GO transporter energy. Once this resource is completely used up, it will take a week for it to replenish.

Accounts are now linked. The player can now transfer Pokemon just like they would to Pokemon Home.
While it may be cool to catch such a unique Pokemon as Melmetal, it doesnt do too well in Pokemon GO. Its Steel move of choice is Flash Cannon, and is paired with Rock Slide, neither of which are the best options.
