What Are Mystery Gifts

How to Transfer Pokemon from Go on iPhone to Lets Go on Nintendo Switch (Pikachu AND Eevee)

These gifts are only accessible via the mobile version of Pokémon HOME and will be redeemable in either Sword and Shield or HOME.

Once Pokémon GO compatibility has been introduced sometime before the end of 2020, transferring a Pokémon from the mobile game to Sword or Shield will result in a Mystery Gift appearing in the mobile version of Pokémon Home a special Melmetal which can Gigantamax in the Switch game. Beware, though, because it’s not possible to transfer this Pokémon back to Pokémon GO once it has been moved to Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Can I Transfer Any Pokmon

Nope! As of this moment, you can only transfer Pokémon from the Kanto region, as well as Meltan, and Melmetal. However, Game Freak made it clear that if Pokémon: Lets Go is sufficiently popular, that we could see other regions make the cut later on, paving the way for the rest of the Pokémon to join the game.

Pokemon: Lets Go, Pikachu and Eevee allow you to play with two players at the same time for the first time ever. Activating two-player co-op in Lets Go is incredibly easy. Heres how.

When you see a green icon on the bottom right of your screen, have the second player shake their Joy-Con or Poke Ball Plus to join. You can see what this icon looks like on the bottom right of the screenshot below:

Youll see another avatar appear on screen for the second player once the other controller is activated. This icon will start appearing after getting your Pokedex around Route 1, within the first fifteen minutes of starting.

There are a few things you should know about co-op in Pokemon Lets Go:

  • The second player will always be the opposite gender of your character. So if you chose to be a boy, the second player will have the girl avatar.
  • The second player cannot interact with Pokemon or NPCs, and they cannot pick up items. They will walk through Pokemon.
  • The second player can have a Pokemon follow behind them, and it will always be the Pokemon set to be second in the main players part.

How Do I Transfer Pokmon From Previous Generations To Pokmon Sword And Shield

This will involve the use of Pokémon Bank, the previous system used to store and trade Pokémon up until Gen 7. THIS FEATURE IS ONLY AVAILABLE WITH POKÉMON HOME’S PREMIUM PLAN.

You can find out more information on the official Pokémon Bank website, but as a rule, once you’ve moved Pokémon from earlier Gens to Pokémon Bank, they can’t be transferred back, so make sure you’re happy ‘losing’ them from your original games. The following infographic from the Pokémon Bank website shows which games permit deposits-only or deposits and withdrawals, but remember: TRANSFERS FROM POKÉMON BANK TO POKÉMON HOME ARE ONE-WAY ONLY:

The 3DS app has an annual fee of $4.99, but for the first month of Pokémon HOME, users can access Pokémon Bank free-of-charge, so there’s no time like the present if you’re eager to move all your Pokémon to the latest storage system.

Here are some details from the lovely Alex with regards to the convoluted process of transferring your legacy Pokémon up the daisy chain into Pokémon Bank and, from there, to Pokémon HOME. Over to Alex:

What Are The Differences Between The Nintendo Switch And Mobile Versions Of Pokmon Home

The Switch and Mobile versions of Pokémon HOME work in tandem, but also have exclusive features not available in the other. You’ll need both in order to access the full list of available features. Here’s the complete list adapted from the official Pokémon HOME website:

As you can see, certain features are exclusive to one version of the app, so you’ll need both to be able to get the most out of the app. Some features are also restricted to the Premium Plan, too .

Head Into Your Go Park To See All Your Transfers Living Their Best Lives

How to Transfer Pokemon from Go on iPhone to Let

Once your little critters have wiggled their way across the Bluetooth waves, it’s time to go and visit them in whichever Go Park you dumped them into. Go back to the front desk, speak to your new pal, choose ‘Enter a Go Park’ and then choose whichever Park you want.

You’ll then be transported into your Go Park where you’ll see all your transfers frolicking in the greenery, literally having the best time. It basically acts as the Safari Park from Pokemon Yellow, but you’re having to provide the exhibits from Pokemon Go.

But of course, you haven’t really transferred them here for a holiday, have you? It’s time to start adding them to your Pokemon Let’s Go Pokedex.

First, make sure the Nintendo account youre using on your Switch and in Pokémon Go is the same.

Within Lets Go, hit the X button to open up the main menu. Then press the Y button to select Options > Pokémon Go Settings > Yes to begin the sync with your Pokémon Go account.

Next, choose a Go Park of your choice. This is simply where the creatures will arrive.

Confirm, and then it’ll begin searching for Go account activity.

Now it’s the turn of the Pokémon Go account on your phone. View your list of Pokémon, and press the Switch icon on to top right. Now any Pokémon you select will be able to be sent to Let’s Go. Select as many as you like, then when ready, select ‘Send to Nintendo Switch’ at the bottom of the screen.

You’ll then get a warning and a confirmation when the transfer is complete.

Back to Let’s Go. Once the account has been found, agree, and the transfer will take place.

With that being successful, you now have to catch the Pokémon in the Go park you deposited it in. Return to the receptionist, select ‘Enter a Go Park’ and select the specific Park you transferred the creature to.

You’ll then run around inside the park and locate the creature.

    Catch it, and it’s yours!

How The Go Park Play Yard Works

If you transfer 25 of the same Pokemon into the Go Park from Pokemon Go, you’ll be able to enter the Play Yard for that specific Pokemon and unlock a secret mini-game that’ll earn you candy for that critter. From what we’ve seen so far, they’re all rather adorable, but it might take a while for you to unlock them all – especially as you can’t count any of the Pokemon you’ve caught in Pokemon Let’s Go towards that 25 total. It’s Pokemon Go transfers only.

Also, all 25 Pokemon have to be physically in the Go Park at the same time to access the mini-game. They don’t all have to be in the same Park though.

You have 20 Go Parks to choose from, each holding up to 50 Pokemon, meaning you can have up to 1000 Pokemon stored there at any one time. That basically equates to 40 mini-games active at once. Enjoy transferring, trainers!

The most recent functionality for Pokémon Home, finally added in November 2020, is the ability to transfer Pokémon to Home from Pokémon Go, and therefore all the way from Go, to Home, to the Switch games Pokémon Sword and Shield.

This involves a new feature in Pokémon Go called the Go Transporter, and there are some limits on how often you can use it without spending Poké Coins, depending on the Pokémon you want to transfer. Here’s how it all works, from Go to Home and Home to Sword and Shield.

How to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Go to Pokémon Home

    • In Pokémon Go, open Settings, then scroll down and select Pokémon Home.
    • Log into the same Nintendo Account that you use with Pokémon Home.
    • Select Send Pokémon.
    • You’ll then see the Go Transporter – select Continue.
    • Select the Pokémon you want to transfer – you can select multiple Pokémon in one go here.
    • Select Transport, and they’ll be sent.
    • You now need to ‘recieve’ the Pokémon in Home by opening the app and doing so there. You can’t send any more to Home from Go until you complete that last step.

How to receive Pokémon from Go in Home

To get Pokémon from Go to Sword and Shield, follow the steps above to get them into Home, and then skip down to our section on transferring to and from Home and Sword and Shield to read up on how to get any Pokémon you’ve transferred from Go to Home into Sword and Shield themselves!

Select catch, and the game will send you to a typical wild Pokémon battle screen. Throw Poké Balls at your Pokémon until you capture it. Once you do, its yours to keep!

Make It To The Go Park In Fuchsia City In Pokemon Lets Go

Now that your two accounts are all paired up, youll need to head to Go Park in Fuchsia City in Pokemon Lets Go in order to start transferring your Pokemon. Its quite a way into the main storyline of Lets Go, so you wont be able to get access to your arsenal of Pokemon Go critters until youve done at least a few gyms, and weaved your way to Fuchsia City.

The Go Park is to the north of the City, where Pokemon Yellow players would have found the Safari Park. Head inside the Go Park and speak to the receptionist at the desk on the left of the PokeStop-shaped Portal.

Here, choose the option Bring Pokemon, choose whatever Go Park you want to use and then itll go through a similar process to the original sync. However, dont panic, youre already connected, so just move onto the next step.

Can I Use Pokmon Home To Transfer My Original Gen 1 And 2 Pokmon From Pokmon Red / Blue / Yellow / Gold / Silver / Crystal On Game Boy To Pokmon Sword And Shield

Unfortunately, no. The Pokémon you first caught two decades ago are forever trapped on those original Game Boy cartridges or on Pokémon Stadium. Of course, using various shady tactics and compromised hardware, enterprising Poké Trainers have been known to dump their original saves from the Game Boy carts, upload them to the 3DS Virtual Console versions of Pokémon Red and Blue, and then move those to Pokémon Bank, but we shall not delve into those dark arts here.

No, it seems that ‘Stinkypoo’ the Pikachu, ‘Wormy’ the Weedle and ‘Metapoo’ the Metapod will die on our Game Boy carts along with the battery. Probably for the best, to be honest.
