Does Cp Matter In Pokemon Go

What Is The Actual Affect Of Cp In Battles Is Hp And Attacks Actually More Important To Survive A Battle

HOW TO PLAY POKEMON GO – DOES CP MATTER? w/ Nintendome

I know that everyone puts importance on CP but a low CP with a 100 attack will faint a high CP Pokémon in battle. What is the actual importance of CP? I understand that HP/stamina is of great importance to survive in a battle, however, I don’t quite understand CP and it’s actual effect compared to strong attacks.

There is a formula to calculate damage, a pokemon deals. It can be found here.https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/damage-mechanics

– stab- type-bonus

you can deduce, that a plain multiplication of att, def and sta stat is the measure to compare damage a pokemon deals until it faints.

This is not exactly CP, because in CP, Def and Sta are square rooted before multiplication. This means, attack stat is evaluated higher in CP than it should be from a “damage done until pkm faints” point of view.

Nevertheless, i like CPs to evaluate attackers, because this formula takes into account that “damage done until pkm faints” is not everything, killspeed matters too, and the higher evaluation of att-stat in CP takes this into account.

How To Make Friends And Trade Pokmon

New to Pokémon Go is the ability to trade Pokémon with friends a feature players have been clamoring for. Trading is a complicated system, though, and requires you to put in a lot of effort to make it work.

First, theres a new Friend tab on your Trainer menu, which allows you to add friends using a Friend Code. You can add friends regardless of physical proximity if you have the code, and you can interact with them in some ways even if theyre not around to play with. Your capabilities with friends is determined by your Friendship Level the higher the level, the better, specifically for trading Pokémon.

You can only trade Pokémon with people youve added to your friend list, and they have to be physically close to you in order for the trade to happen. Trades will also cost you Stardust, but making trades earns you candies for the Pokémon type you trade. Common Pokémon you already have in your Pokédex are relatively cheap and easy to trade, but Legendary Pokémon and Pokémon you dont have in your Pokédex already require Special trades, and you can only execute one of those per day.

Relationship With Obtain Methods

Pokémon obtained from different methods have IV floors, which mean all three values are not lower than a certain number. This is likely to make those obtain methods more rewarding.

Some methods include a set CP level of Pokémon given. Therefore, certain IV can be interpreted by simply checking the CP value.

How Do You Get The Basic Gym Badge In Pokmon Go

The first time you interact with a Gym, be it by spinning the Photo Disc on top, battling, placing a Pokémon in the Gym, or beating a Raid Boss that’s taken over the Gym, you’ll see a badge appear, and it’ll be added to your collection.

You can get a Gym badge for every Gym you interact with, so prepare for the number of badges you have to multiply.

After defeating a Team Go Rocket grunt or leader, players are given the opportunity to catch a shadow Pokemon. One of the more difficult choices players face in Pokemon GO is whether to raise the shadow Pokemon, or purify it for an IV and CP boost.

The choice is a tough one that needs to be looked at on an individual basis, and thats something that requires a deeper dive. Heres how to approach shadow Pokemon, when to purify, and how to best utilize them.

Pokmon Go Evolution Cp Calculator

This calculates what a Pokémons CP will be when you evolve it. So, say youve got a 600CP Eevee that you want to evolve into an Umbreon, youd just pop that information into a calculator and itll tell you that Umbreon will have about 1,247CP when you evolve it.

The actual algorithm for evolving Pokémon depends on a few other factors, so most good Pokémon Go CP calculators also give you a probable range which your Pokémon should sit within. In this example, Umbreon should end up somewhere between 1,205 1,282CP.

However, there are also CP calculators that allow you to accurately test Pokémons statistics at certain levels. Youll need a bit more information to work this calculator, but its not too difficult to find. Heres what you need:

  • Your Pokémons level
  • Your Pokémons IVs

For this example, Ill use Kangaskhan a Pokémon that doesnt evolve.

Is There A Limit To The Number Of Gyms You Can Be On At One Time

Twenty is the current limit. Keep in mind, though, that the current Gym system doesn’t seem built to favor keeping a large number of Gyms. As you’ll see below, Gyms now take a lot of effort to maintain. So, unless you have 20 Gyms clustered around an area you’re in or pass by multiple times a day, you might find quality now beats quantity.

What To Do If Your Bag Is Full

At some point, however, your in-game bag is going to be completely full of items. When that happens, you dont have to stop accessing the Pokéstops. If you keep tapping and spinning, youll still get experience from those stops, even if youre not gathering items.

Your immediate next step should be to discard items you dont want to free up space for those you do, though. Go to your Items menu and tap the Trash Can icon next to any item you dont want to discard it. Youll be able to choose how many of each item you want to throw away. Its generally best to toss low-level potions and revives, because youll have far more than you need in most situations. Pokéballs tend to be more valuable. You have plenty at early levels, but at later levels, theyre in shorter supply as Pokémon become harder to catch. If youre in a place where Pokéstops arent too plentiful, Pokéballs can be much tougher to come by, so youll want to devote as much space in your bag to them as possible.

On top of the items you get from Pokéstops and leveling your trainer, there is also a store in the game where you can spend real-world money on Pokécoins to buy in-game items. These include rarer items like Incense, Lucky Eggs, and Lure modules, along with large quantities of Pokéballs and expanded item or Pokémon storage. You can also earn Pokécoins from gyms, though, and its a better, cheaper method than spending your real money.

Pokmon Go Purify Calculator

Pokemon GO: CP and Trainer Level DO NOT MATTER

There is no specific Pokémon Go purify calculator used to understand what your Pokémons CP will look like after you purify it from a Shadow form but there is a trick you can use.

Using a CP calculator like the one we used earlier for Kangaskhan, follow these steps:

  • Add 2 to each of your IVs and input them
  • Set your Pokémons level to 25
  • Profit

Purifying a Shadow Pokémon adds two to each of your IVs and improves your Pokémons level to 25. So, adding this information to your Pokémons current stats will give you its new CP.

Pokemon Go New Appraisal System Chart And Guide Plus A Glitch

Theres a new set of updates in the mix today for Pokemon GO, and weve got a full rundown here for you including a chart for the new Appraisal System! The Appraisal System Update for July 2019 changes the way we use the game to gain deeper insight into each Pokemon. Since the beginning of Pokemon GO, thereve been 3rd-party apps thatve gone the extra mile in identifying IV numbers in Pokemon, thereby showing their literal range and spot in that range. Finally, three years later, Niantic just baked that functionality into the game.

Niantics newly-updated Appraisal System Update requires the same of the end player as the original. All you need to do is open up a single Pokemon and tap the three-line button in the lower right-hand corner. This button shows several options, one of which is Appraise! Tap Appraise and your Team Leader will tell you whats up.

Turn On Pokmon Gos Battery Saver Asap

I can only speak to playing Pokémon Go on my aging iPhone 5s, but it devours my battery when its active. I was exploring Pokémon Go for my entire hour-long morning train commute, and by the end of the trip, my phone went from 100% to 65%. If youre in a similar situation, theres a battery saver option in the settings. I havent really seen a marked change in the apps battery consumption since turning it on, but just be aware that your phone needs a lot of juice to hunt down Pokémon.

‘pokmon Go’s Appraisal Feature Is Simultaneously Confusing Useful And Relatively Pointless

Pokémon GO continues to take odd twists and turns that are hard to predict, and while everyone waits for a new nearby feature to arrive in the game, Niantic just introduced something entirely different instead.

The new feature is called appraisals, where you essentially show off your Pokémon to your team leader, and theyll give you a brief report on what they make of it. What this does is effectively serve as an in-game Individual Value calculator for gauging the relative strength of Pokémon outside of Combat Power , but if you dont know what any of that means, its hard to blame you.

Heres why Im a bit perplexed by this addition to the game:

Its Confusing

I feel like the vast majority of players are going to have no idea what to make of this new feature. All the team leaders say relatively positive things about your Pokémon, with the most negative being perhaps saying something has room for improvement or is “not great in battle” if its at the absolute bottom tier. Most players arent really going to understand what this means, and why they might be told their highest CP Pokémon isnt good at fighting when its been doing great for them so far. Add in bonus comments about stats and their size, and its hard to know what on earth the appraisal is actually saying.

You literally need a chart to figure all this out, and heres a handy one below:

Its Useful

Its Relatively Pointless

Transferring Pokmon From Go To Home

How Much Does Cp Matter In Pokemon Go

Once your accounts are linked, you can transfer Pokémon using the Go Transporter. To do this, go to your settings, select Pokémon Home, and hit Send Pokémon.

From here, you can select any of the Pokémon you want to move. Keep in mind that you cannot transfer hat- or costume-wearing Pokémon, as well as Shadow or Mega Evolved Pokémon.

You can only transfer a limited number of Pokemon, as the Go Transporter only has a certain amount of energy. The energy recharges over time, but you can also opt to spend 1,000 Pokécoins to fill it back up instantly. It takes a little bit less than one week to refill the Go Transporter when its completely empty.

Transferring a Shiny Pokémon or Mythical Pokémon costs about 1/4 of the bar, and transferring a Shiny Legendary Pokémon depletes the entire bar. Transferring a regular Legendary Pokémon costs less than 1/6 of the bar.

You can only transfer Legendary Pokémon to Sword and Shield if youve already obtained them in that game, so dont get your hopes up if youre just trying to quickly complete your Pokédex.

If the Pokémon has a higher combat power, it will also cost a bit more.

Bonuses Field Research And Catching Mew

We mentioned field research above, the new system of activities that give players a reason to log in to Pokémon Go every day. Youll also get bonus items and experience points for catching at least one Pokémon every day and for spinning at least one Pokéstop every day. Maintaining a multi-day streak increases the bonuses each day for up to seven days. Youll also want to try to knock out one field research activity every day to quickly get a chance at Legendary Pokémon.

Niantic also added special research to the game along with field research, which is the closest thing Pokémon Go has to a story campaign. This series of tasks is the path to eventually catching a Mew, but itll take a lot of investment and time to get there. The good news is that, as you clear each group of three requirements in Professor Willows special research assignments , youll earn a lot of rewards.

A quick tip about special research

If youre working on catching all the Magikarps necessary to evolve a Gyrados, hold off until you work through Professor Willows special research. One of the requirements along the way is to evolve a Gyrados, and since doing so takes a really long time, you dont want to waste your Magikarps before you can count it on your path to getting a Mew.

You Can Always Run From A Battle

Your starter Pokémon will be familiar to longtime fans, as youll be given a choice between capturing Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle, the classic Red/Blue starters. Thats when youll see the touchscreen mechanic of flicking Poké Balls at monsters in an AR vision through your phones camera. It seems easy at first, but after your first few captures, youll see yourself missing more often that hitting. If youre starting to run low on Poké Balls, you can always run from a fight, so dont be scared to let a Pokémon go and conserve your resources.

How Much Does It Matter

While most people are chasing 80%+ IVs just so their appraisals look good, you have to ask just how important it is. On one hand, if youre going to be investing stardust and candy into a Pokémon, you might as well choose the best one. On the other hand, is it ever going to be the different between win or lose?

The different from 0% IV to 100% is going to be about a 10-20% impact on your total CP. That type of impact wouldnt be that noticeable. On occasion you would find some meaningful impact if some combat numbers rounded in your favor. However, in the same vein, rounded combat numbers could also make that impact meaningless. It is worth noting that IVs are number bonuses to your Pokémons base stats, so it will haev a more noticeable impact on lower CP and lower level Pokémon, but thats not really where people are focusing their effort. Now, consider that it should be very easy to find yourself a 60%+ IV Pokémon and really its not too important to chase high IVs as the different between 60% and 100% would not likely be noticeable and very unlikely to be the different between a win or loss. You may just save seconds here and there.

Still, its fun to chase the best numbers, especially if you already have multiple of a certain Pokémon and getting a higher IV is your next goal! For people who want to maximize everything, its a good way to keep chasing value in the game. Think of it like a shiny, it may not impact much, but its certainly a lot cooler.

How Do You Feed A Berry To A Same

POKÉMON GO CP | DOES COMBAT POWER MATTER?

You’ll be doing this a lot. A lot. So it’s good that it’s simple.

  • Approach a Gym until you’re within range. It has to be a Gym currently controlled by your own team
  • Tap on the Gym.
  • Tap the Pokémon you want to feed.
  • Tap on the Razz Berry button at the bottom left to change the type of berry, then tap on the Berry you want to switch to.
  • Tap on the Berry to feed it to the Pokémon.
  • Since Razz Berries, Pinap Berries, and Nanab Berries all provide the same amount of motivation, Nanab having no other real benefit in the game should be your go-to. Golden Razz Berries fill 100% of motivation.

Remember, you can feed your Pokémon who are defending a Gym you have a Pokémon in long-distance, no matter where you are, by visiting the Gym Badge or your defending Pokémon’s page.

How To Assess Your Pokmons Strengths

As we mentioned earlier, every Pokémon in the game has individual values for attack, defense, and stamina that dictate how powerful it can become over time. If you are curious about how strong your Pokémon can become, you can have your Pokémon appraised by your factions gym leader, which will generate a message based on their individual values.

To appraise a Pokémon, tap the button in the bottom center of the screen.

Then, tap the button labeled Pokémon.

This will bring up all the Pokémon you own. Click on the Pokémon you want to appraise.

Next, tap the button in the bottom right of the screen to bring up a list of options.

Choose Appraise. Your faction leader will appear and give you a description of your Pokémon. For example, if you are on Team Mystic, Blanche might say, Overall, your Charmander has certainly caught my attention, or, Overall, your Squirtle is not likely to make much headway in battle.

While they dont offer a comprehensive breakdown, your faction leader will make a pair of comments based your Pokémons individual values. The first statement, which gauges its overall potential, is based on the sum of its three values. There are three stats, each of which ranges from zero to 15, so the total value can range from zero to 45.

So, what exactly do these qualitative statements mean? The game itself does not make them clear, but sites like GamePress seem to have figured out the underlying math.
