How To Get Zarude Codes In Pokemon Sword And Shield

Europe – How to Get Zarude in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Zarude promotional codes were distributed through the official Pokemon newsletter and at Pokemon TCG release events in Europe.

While Japanese Pokemon fans received Zarude on the Nintendo Switch by heading to theaters to see Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle, European and North American Pokemon fans got it in a much more mundane way. Zarude promo codes for the in-game mystery gift function were distributed to encourage players to sign up for the official Pokemon newsletter.

The first came in December 2020, which included a promo code for a standard version of the Pokemon. Alongside this, certain European retailers offered the ability to get a promo code as a promotion for the Pokemon TCGs Vivid Voltage expansion which included Zarudes debut in the TCG.

A second newsletter promo code came out in October 2021 for the Dada version of the Pokemon, which wears a pink scarf to promote the arrival of Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle on Netflix. The promo code came alongside another one for a shiny Celebi.

These promo codes do not expire but are only usable once. This means players needed to sign up to the newsletter themselves in order to get themselves a Zarude and if they didnt get one at the time, theyre flat out of luck.

Stats For Zarude In Pokmon Sword And Shield

Zarude has some pretty impressive stats, which makes sense because its a Mystic Pokémon.

It is a Dark/Grass-type Pokémon. Below are the base stats for Zarude.

  • Attack: 120
  • Speed: 105
  • Health Points: 105

The main moves this Pokémon possesses are Close Combat, Snarl, Power Whip, and Swagger. But what I want to talk about is Jungle Healing, which is the move that sets this Pokémon apart.

Zarude is currently the only Pokémon in the games that can use this move. Jungle Healing heals the team as well as removes any lingering status conditions.

The future status of Zarude or even other Mystic Pokémons such as Zacian or Zamazenta is unknown.

I realize why these Pokémons are locked from the base game, and to some extent, it probably does promote the games in ways that my tiny brain cant comprehend.

But the fact remains that it is unfair to gamers to lock out Pokémons, especially gamers that were late to the party and have no way of obtaining them. Hopefully, in the future, theyll come up with a better way to incentivize us.

Zarude Moveset And Ability

According to the above graphic from NintendoLife, Zarude will have the following moves when you get it:

  • Close Combat
  • Swagger
  • Snarl

Its also said that they will learn the move Jungle Healing at level 90. This Grass-type move allows Zarude to wrap its vines around nearby trees and absorbs their energy. Once all the energy has been absorbed, Zarude then releases it, healing both itself and any ally Pokemon. Jungle Healing also cures any status conditions that a Pokemon has been inflicted with, making it an extremely potent support move.

The official Sword and Shield website states Within Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, only Zarude can learn Jungle Healing. However, it is possible other Pokémon may be able to learn this move in future games. Depending on how effective and game-changing Jungle Healing is, we could see this move become extremely popular in competitive play.

If that wasnt enough, Zarudes Leaf Guard ability prevents it from being afflicted by non-volatile status conditions. This ability was first introduced in Gen 4 and has been a staple pick for those aiming to avoid any frustrating status effects.

Its shaping up to be a big day for Pokemon fans. Not only did we catch wind of a new update heading to Pokemon Unite, but The Pokemon Company has also revealed the premiere date for the next Pokemon movie. In addition to that, it seems some rare mythical Pokemon will soon be obtainable in Pokemon Sword and Shield, though there are some steps you need to take in order to unlock them.

Kicking off todays slate of announcements was the reveal that Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle will be debuting on Netflix on October 8th, 2021. The movie will feature the mythical Pokemon Zarude, which was first revealed last year. The movie centers around a human, Koko, who has been raised by a Pokemon called Dada Zarude and eventually meets Ash and Pikachu on their journey.

You can check out a new trailer for the movie embedded above, but theres another thing youll want to do if youre a Pokemon Sword and Shield player. Those who sign up for the Pokemon Trainer Club Newsletter by September 25th, 2021, will receive two different codes to redeem in-game. How To Get Zarude If He’s Not Available In Your Region In Pokemon: Sword & Shield

This is mainly pointed at the US fans who were too late, and the UK fans that don’t fancy waiting around for GAME to provide codes online.

Some impatient fans have found that, by using a VPN, they can easily sign up for a code on the GameMania website. All you need to do is set your VPN to the Netherlands or Belgium and sign up on the site. Many fans have reported that they’ve been able to receive codes immediately.

If you’re an EU resident this code will work just fine for you, however, if you’re in the US or anywhere else, things are a little bit more difficult.

  • To transfer this Pokemon to your account you will want to make an EU account on your Nintendo Switch.
  • Start a save file on that account, and then redeem Zarude to it.
  • Find someone you trust, and trade them the Zarude from your EU account, and then have them trade it back to you on your normal account.

Using this method you will be able to get Zarude, even if you’re in Japan or the US and missed your first chance. Good luck Pokemon hunters.

For years, in GAME they have a tradition of giving Pokémon creatures to any trainer who comes with their Nintendo console to a physical store in a certain period of time. However, due to recent changes to adapt to the policies and security measures indicated to combat the spread of COVID-19, the method of obtaining these Pokémon has changed. This time, Zarude, a creature introduced in the eighth generation, is available for Pokémon Sword and Shield, which can also be obtained in LATAM and through an alternative method. Zarude Pokemon Sword And Shield Location And More

Were learning about Zarude in the meantime, so bear with us and if you need a refresher, you can check out our general information about this Pokemon here. However, from some clips shared by Nintendo on Twitter and YouTube and elsewhere, we now know what this bad boy looks like. Zarude is known as the rogue monkey Pokemon and its a Dark and Grass Type. The special ability for Zarude which weve covered before is Leaf Guard, but heres what it actually does: Zarude is going to get a bonus in Sunny Weather due to the fact that status conditions will roll off it like water off a ducks back. Talk about handy!

This is going to be one relatively large boy, so maybe abandon any thoughts about cradling it in your arms after a victory. In terms of where one can find a Zarude, it looks like they live in the heart of dense forests and that it will attack anyone that isnt part of its pack, according to The Pokemon Company. It notes that the vines that it wears as wristwraps have a healing property, which suggests the potential appearance of a HP leech move in Zarudes roster. However, until we find out more about its moves, its all just speculation at this point. We reckon that in terms of Zarudes location, its pretty likely that well find it in the Slumbering Weald just because of the description thats been given by The Pokemon Company so far. Hopefully we have our guesses confirmed soon!
