Evolving Eevee Into Glaceon In Pokemon Go
Glaceon is the second Eevee evolution of the Sinnoh region and comes in at #471. Glaceon is an ice type Pokemon, so it’s recommended for fights with grass, ground, and dragon types, and flying opponents like Spearow.
To evolve an Eevee into a Glaceon, change your Eevees name to “Rea,” then evolve it with candy as per usual.
Similar to evolving Leafeon, you can also get a Glaceon by placing a special lure module onto a Pokestop and evolving an Eevee. Instead of the Mossy variant, though, use the Glacial Lure Module.
All The Eevee Nickname Tricks
When Pokémon Go launched, there were no evolution stones – items from the core games that allow you to evolve certain Pokémon. Eevee’s first three evolutions normally require these special items to evolve, so Pokémon Go left Eevee’s evolution up to chance. However, the folks over at Niantic did hide a little Easter eggs in game. If you rename an Eevee to these nicknames, each based on a notable NPC’s Pokémon from the anime or core games, they’ll evolve into exactly the Eeveelution you want, but you can only use each one once per account:
- Kira for Sylveon*
Remember, it only works once for each. After that, you’re back to random chance, special lure modules, or walking with Eevee as your buddy. So, choose wisely. Pick the highest stat and highest CP Eevee you can for each one.
How To Get Glacial Lure Mossy Lure And Magnetic Lures In Pokmon Go
The only guaranteed way to get a Glacial Lure, Mossy Lure and Magnetic Lure is from purchasing them in the in-game shop for 200 Coins each.
These lures have also appeared as a one-time reward for certain questlines in the past, too, so it’s worth keeping an eye out for when they appear. For example, on the Rainy Lure’s debut, the final step of the coinciding Luminous Legends X event offered one as a reward.
It’s worth noting the use of Lures will appear in-game for all local players – so as long as another player has used one, you can reap the benefits.

Pokemon Go Bug Makes It Much Easier To Evolve Eevee Into Espeon And Umbreon
A Pokemon Go bug has made it a lot easier for players to evolve their Eevee into an Umbreon or Espeon. Under normal circumstances, Pokemon Go players need to jump through a couple of hoops to evolve their Eevee. Either they have to activate a special lure, or earn Buddy Hearts, or walk their Eevee in order to get a desired evolution. But from now until this weekend, it will be a lot easier to evolve Eevee into Umbreon or Espeon. A bug in the game has made it so that Eevee no longer needs to be walked 10 KM to evolve into Umbreon or Espeon. Players still need to make the Eevee they want to evolve their Buddy Pokemon, but they can instantly evolve it instead of having to walk.
Trainers, an issue is causing there to be no walking requirement to evolve Eevee into Umbreon or Espeon, while it is your buddy. We will not implement a fix for this until August 16th, 10 AM PDT, after the upcoming Community Day event.

Please note that your Buddy Eevee will evolve into Espeon during the day and Umbreon at night. The bug will remain in effect until next Monday, August 16th.
This “bug” should actually help a lot of Pokemon Go players out, as Umbreon is arguably the best Eevee evolution to use in most competitive Pokemon Go formats. Umbreon is a strong Pokemon in the Ultra League format and the addition of Psychic as a move will make it much more competitive in Great League play as well.

Pokemon Go Eevee Community Day Perks
Aside from the usual increase in spawns and the higher rate of finding a Shiny, this weekends Pokemon Go Eevee Community Day event will give trainers even more perks. From Friday, August 13 at 1 p.m. EDT to Monday, August 16 at 1 p.m. EDT, when Eevee evolves into its many evolutions they will learn an exclusive move. Below are the Pokemon-exclusive moves that will be learned during Community Day:
- Vaporeon: Scald
- Sylveon: Psyshock
- Eevee caught or hatched during this time will know Last Resort.
Also, evolving Sylveon will be much easier during the two-day event. More information on Sylveons evolution method is below, but obtaining the Fairy-type will only require seven friendship hearts instead of the usual 70.

While the above method is the easiest manner with which to get every single Eevee evolution in Pokémon Go, there are actually a number of alternative methods for a few specific evolutions.
Heres a round-up of how they work:

Once you have used the naming trick for these three Pokémon, a normal evolutionon Eevee will have an equal random chance of getting Vaporeon,Jolteon, or Flareon.
If you have walked over 10km with Eevee as your buddy, andyou dont want to get Espeon or Umbreon, make sure that Eevee isntyour buddy when evolving it!
How To Evolve Eevee Into Sylveon
While other Eeveelutions require walking a certain distance and evolving at a specific time of the day, Sylveon is all about friendship.
To get repeat Syvleons beyond the single-use naming method, you’ll have to get one as your buddy, and then accumulate 75 hearts with it. After that, the option should appear to evolve an additional Sylveon.
To get Sylveon as your buddy, you can take photos with it, play with it, feed it, spin new PokéStops all the usual shenanigans to earn hearts with a buddy, basically. You can earn a maximum of 20 hearts per day, so, in theory, you can evolve an Eevee into Sylveon in four days.

Can The Eevee Nickname Trick Fail
Choosing the evolution of Eevee in Pokémon GO through the nickname change is an alternative or trick that only works once for each eeveelution. That is, one for each of the seven members available to date in the game . If you have an Eevee and rename it Sakura, it will evolve into Espeon, but only once. In case you try again it will not work with that nickname.
This trick may not work with Umbreon Y Espeon if there has been a problem monitoring your steps. The requirement for these two evolutions is to accumulate 10 km walked during the day or during the night . If the evolution does not take place, it is because the distance has not been well counted or there has been some derived problem. When in Adventure mode, performing activities with Buddies increases their mood. The highest level mood, ‘excited’ can also give you benefits for a limited time.
When your buddy is ‘excited’ – as indicated by a cheering icon surrounded by Hearts – then you’ll receive the following benefits:

Getting a Pokémon excited, then, has its perks. To get it excited, there are two methods:

There is another method to evolve an Eevee to Espeon or Umbreon , and it is to walk. The process is the following:
- Select as a partner the Eevee that we want to evolve.
- Walk 10 kilometers with him.

- If we evolve the Pokémon during the day, Eevee will evolve in Espeon, while if we do it at night, Eevee will evolve to Umbreon.

The new Appraisal feature is a great way to quickly discover how powerful your new Pokemon are. Finding out that an old favourite has a three star rating is incredibly gratifying.
It’s especially useful for when you’re comparing a bunch of the same Pokémon, as you can keep the stat appraisal screen open as you move between Pokémon. This allows you to quickly compare stats and star rankings as you try to decide which Pokémon to keep and which ones to release.
You can even search for Pokémon by their specific star tier, just like how you can search for them by name. To do this, you’ll need to search:
- 0* = 0 Stars
- 3* = 3 Stars
- 4* = 3 Stars with a red background / 100% Pokémon
The new ranking system makes it a lot easier to decide which Pokémon are worth investing your Stardust and Candy in. Though it’s still important to remember a Pokémon’s rarity and whether it’s one of the best Pokémon in the game.
Though by and large the closer to 100% this is the better, depending on the Pokémon, some individual stats are more important than others – so it isn’t the be all and end all.
For example, if you have a Snorlax – one of the best creatures to put in a gym with its high health – with a low HP stat, that makes it a less attractive proposition. But then again, because it’s rare, you might not have any alternative Snorlax to rely on. Of course, an average Snorlax will still perform better than others in its field, so it could still be worth Powering up.
