Charizards Other Fast Moves
Firstly, lets take a look at all of Charizards Fast Moves for a comparison:
- Dragon Breath 4 DPT, 3 EPT
- Air Slash 3 DPT, 3 EPT
- Ember 3 DPT, 3 EPT
- Fire Spin 3 DPT, 3.33 EPT
- Wing Attack 2.5 DPT, 3.5 EPT
As we can see, Dragon Breath provides the most damage. It may fall behind in terms of energy, but the sacrifice of 0.5 EPT is worth the extra 1.5 DPT.
Using it will naturally give you a greater advantage against dragon-types such as Giratina, but it does come at the cost of ineffectiveness against steel and fairy-types.
Charizard the favorite ?
Pve Offensive Moves Explanation
Fire Spin is Charizards best fast move and strictly superior to Ember.
Wing Attack is preferable to Air Slash and equal to Fire Spin;if;both have the same effectiveness.
Blast Burn makes Charizard one of the strongest Fire-type attackers.
Overheat is Charizard’s best non-exclusive charged move;and beats Fire Blast soundly.
Flamethrower has less cycle DPS than Overheat and is;just a worse Blast Burn, but has advantages due to;multiple charge bars.
- Dragon Breath and;Dragon;Claw;can work as a pseudo-dragon attacker, but are best reserved for Mega Charizard X.
- Return has;no purposes on offensive Charizard.
Ultra League: Premier Cup
For anyone not familiar with Premier Cup in Go Battle League, this introduces some restrictions on the available Pokémon you can choose from. This game type eliminates legendary and mythical Pokémon from the meta. Removing legendary Pokémon allows other Pokémon to shine and changes the typing meta.
The strongest legendary Pokémon in regular Ultra League are Psychic, Ghost, Steel, and Dragon types, which controls what non-legendary Pokémon are viable. Premier Cup allows for a much more diverse meta and opens up your options, which makes this game type very popular among battlers. Most battlers will likely choose this game type over regular Ultra League to avoid costly and difficult legendary Pokémon.

Pokmon Go Charizard X
Unlike a regular Charizard, which is a Fire and Flying type, Charizard X is a Fire and Dragon type;Pokémon. That’s right, the;Pokémon that most resembles a dragon can now be an actual Dragon type. While that may be exciting to think about, it does come with some repercussions for you when trying to battle one. This change in types means Charizard X won’t have double weaknesses like a regular Charizard, but instead has regular weaknesses to Rock, Ground, and Dragon.
Charizard X will have no major surprises in terms of moves, but that doesn’t mean they don’t pack a major punch. Fire type moves like Fire Spin and Ember are common, as well as Blast Burn, but he might also still have a strong Air Slash or Wing Attack.
Mega Charizard X gains a major boost to its Fire type moves in sunny weather, but will also help any Ground types you have if you’re looking to capitalize on that type advantage. If the weather is partly cloudy or windy then taking in a Dragon will be your best bet, so long as you’re careful of any Air Slashes or Dragon Claws coming at you.
How Mega Charizard X And Y Will Work In ‘pokmon Go’
When Mega Evolutions were introduced to the Pokémon franchise in 2013 Charizard was one of two special Pokémon who received two different Mega Evolutions, Mewtwo being the other.
Now that Mega Evolutions are making their way to Pokémon Go, Charizard fans will have the option of which of its two forms, Mega Charizard X or Mega Charizard Y, to Mega-Evolve into.
To Mega-Evolve your Pokémon trainers will have to battle Mega Evolved Pokémon in Mega Raids to earn enough Mega Energy to perform the transformation. For example, battling Mega Blastoise will earn Mega Blastoise Energy. However, it’ll be a little simpler for Charizard.
“With Charizard there will be only one Mega Energy and then trainers will be able to choose if they want to apply it to X or Y,” Laura Warner, Senior Game Designer for Pokémon Go, told Newsweek.
So whether trainers battle a Mega Charizard X or Mega Charizard Y in Mega Raids, they’ll be earning energy to Mega-Evolve their Charizard to whichever form they choose.
Warner explained to Newsweek that trainers will have to perform the Mega Evolution outside of battle, so that’s when trainers will choose between the two Charizards. With Mega Evolution being a temporary form change, trainers will be able to battle with both Mega Charizards.
It should be noted that Mega Evolutions won’t be able to participate in the Go Battle League, but trainers can use them against Team Go Rocket.
Whos The Best Starter In Pokemon Go: Bulbasaur Charmander Or Squirtle
Except for Pokemon Yellow, the special edition of the original games, every other game in the main Pokemon series features three Pokemon that you can choose from at the beginning, collectively known as the starter Pokemon or simply starters. All three of them represent the Grass, Fire, and Water types all the way to their final evolution forms, although most of them would gain an additional second type, too. In case youre introduced to Pokemon via Pokemon Go, Pokemon Yellow had Pikachu as your starter Pokemon, while the original three would be given to you as you journey along.

What Are One Of The Best Counters For Mega Charizard X In Pokmon Go
A Hearth and Dragon sort, Mega Charizard X is weak towards Floor, Rock, and Dragon sort assaults. It will probably deal Hearth, Flying, and Dragon sort harm and the moveset makes a fairly large distinction. When combating towards a Mega Charizard X with its Dragon sort assault, Dragon Claw, the entire Dragon sort counters will go down quick.
Top Mega Charizard X Counters

- Shadow Salamence
- Shadow Dragonite
- Mega Charizard Y
It is of major note that, while it is only the eighteenth best overall counter by itself, bringing in Mega Charizard X will boost the attack of other trainers’ Fire or Flying-type Pokémon, such as Rayquaza and Salamence.

The Lore Behind Charizards Mega Evolutions: Y >> X
To understand this, lets see why Mewtwo and Charizard have 2 mega evolutions.
Ill start with Mewtwo because quite honestly, its logical, easier to understand and does not appear forced.
Mega evolution is a natural progression towards a more powerful form through energy generated by a corresponding mega stone. The presence of the key stone and the mega stone in tandem is analogous to an activation agent and a catalytic converter .;
Now the Y variant of mega evolution is the natural mega evolution. Mewtwo, after all, is a clone of Mew. So when Mewtwo evolves into Mega Mewtwo Y, it becomes smaller, boosts its Psychic abilities and looks closer to a Mew, its natural form.;
Mega Mewtwo X, on the other hand, is an artificial form of mega evolution. This mode of mega evolution acts like steroids, literally bulking up Mewtwo and turning it into a PsychicFighting type.;
Similarly, when we come to Charizard, the Y mega evolution is a natural one. Charizard, a FireFlying lizard, turns into a leaner and meaner flying machine with larger jarred wings that make it fly to altitudes almost unachievable by other Flying types.;
So the Y mega evolution literally improves upon what Charizard has been doing all the while and turns into a more terrifying fire breathing fire lizard.;
When we come to Charizards other mega evolution, this mode is all about activating base Charizards dormant draconic genes and granting it the Dragon typing in the process.;
Best Charizard Moveset In Pokmon Go
We’re going back to First Gen classics! Check out the guide below to see Charizards best moves.
Charizard is regarded as one of the strongest Pokémon in the original lineup and is still considered as such today. Veteran Pokémon fans remember him in the anime as the first Pokémon Ash had a problem controlling because his power level was beyond Ash’s trainer level. If this isn’t a hint as to how strong it can be, there isn’t much that would convince you. In this guide, we’re going over the best moves and basic stats for this fire-breathing Pokémon.
How Meta Relevant Are Charizards Mega Evolutions In Pokmon Go
DPS-wise, Mega Blaziken will surpass Mega Charizard Y marginally owing to its 329 ATK stat.;
However, Mega Charizard Y is bulkier and boasts of better TDO. This is very convenient in raid battles as Mega Charizard Y can last for a longer time, keeping the mega evolution power boost running for more time and sport nearly the same DPS as Mega Blaziken. Plus, Mega Charizard Ys typing grants it lesser weaknesses and more resistances. At the end of the day when the sun goes down, Mega Charizard Y will still remain the more viable Fire type mega evolution.;
Mega Charizard X, on the other hand, cannot occupy a competitive position either as a Fire or a Dragon type.
As a Dragon type, Megas Rayquaza, Garchomp and Salamence will crush Mega Charizard X due to superior stats and better moveset.
Fun fact: Due to stat conversions and main series games stats, Mega Garchomp is a much more powerful Dragon than Mega Salamence even though base Salamence has a higher ATK stat than base Garchomp. Mega Salamence has an ATK stat of 310 in Pokémon Go while Mega Garchomp has an astronomical ATK stat of 339!

Ultra League: All Pokmon
This is the classic Ultra League game mode, which does not restrict any Pokémon for use in battle. In this mode, legendary Pokémon dominate the meta. However, there is some changes happening with the introduction of XL Pokémon. We can expect that XL Pokémon will disrupt legendary dominance in this game mode once XL Pokémon become more widespread and common in the meta. Powering up and unlocking second moves on legendary Pokémon can be very expensive, but we recommend doing it if you want to be competitive in this game mode. There are budget options, but non-legendary Pokémon struggle to keep up with legendary stats.
Best Charizard Attacks Pokemon Go
Charizard, to some trainers’ surprise, is a fire and flying-type, despite its draconic appearance. It is most effective when placed on the offenseâeither taking down gyms or on a GO Battle Ultra League team. As mentioned before, Charizard originally hails from the Kanto region as part of the original 151. Its Pokedex number is six. Some say that Charizard’s fire breath burns so hot that it can melt just about anything.

Charizard Weaknesses In Pokemon Go Battles
Charizard is a Fire-type and Flying-type Pokemon. While Charizard might be able to burn a plethora of opponents, there are a few types that can really hurt it.
Rock-types are the scariest type for Charizard, as they are Super Effective due to the dual-typing. But players should also watch out for Electric-types and Water-types in PVP battles.
With that in mind, players can begin using Charizard in the Pokemon GO battle league. Ultra League is where Charizard truly shines, but Great League is also a viable option.
How Do I Make The Most Of This Community Day
Stardust obtained from catching Pokémon during the event period will be tripled, so if you have any Star Pieces, consider using them before going on a Charmander-catching rampage. Completing Field Research and Timed Research will also reward Charizard Mega Energy.
Regular Charizards best moveset for raiding and gyms is Fire Spin and the legacy move, Blast Burn. However, if you plan on Mega Evolving your Charizard, evolve it during the event to get Dragon Breath. Pair it with Dragon Claw to do quite a bit of damage.
If youre deciding which Shiny Charmander to evolve at the end of the day, try using one of the new search strings. Sort your mons by recent using the lower right icon, and then type 4* in the search box at the top. This will let you know if you have any 100% IV Charmander. Most people wont be so lucky, so next youll want to type 3* in the search box, which will show you any recent mons that are 80% or above. Appraise these to see which one is best, and then evolve your new buddy!

Using The Move Rankings
Each Pokemon has a pool of Fast Moves and a pool of Charged Moves. Some moves might be better in one battle, and other moves might be better in another. For Trainer Battles, you’ll want know which moves will be the best ones to have in the most matchups. You might also want to know which Pokemon are the best candidates for a second Charged Move. The move details within each Pokemon ranking can help you determine that.
Moves are ranked using calculations primarily based on their damage and energy cost. Stat changes are also factored in. These calculations are run for each matchup, and then totaled across the format. Matchup weighting affects these numbers as well, so moves that would be used against significant meta targets will rank higher.
When looking at potential moves, keep an eye out for Pokemon that have a strong tendency toward a single Fast Move and a single Charged Move. These Pokemon will have their optimal moveset in the most matchups. On the other hand, some Pokemon see more balanced usage in their Charged Moves. This is where having a second Charged Move comes into play.
As an exercise, select any one Pokemon in the Team Builder tool and compare its battle histograms when it has one Charged Move and when it has two. If a second Charged Move improves its matchups, it might be one worth investing in.
