Pokmon Go Gen 6 Pokmon List

Pokemon X and Y Release Night :: (Day 109 – 10/11/13)

Like the previous Pokémon generations, such as Gen 5, most evolutions will simply require you to collect a specific amount of Candy.

We can, however, expect to see a Gen 6 version of the Unova and Sinnoh Stone as, like Gen 4 and 5, this generation has a number of Pokémon that will only evolve if they are traded while holding a specific item.

A number of Pokémon may also be affected by the trading mechanic, which will make them easier to evolve once they’ve been traded with another player.

Here is the complete list of Gen 6 Pokémon:

Official Character Artwork Released For ‘pokemon X’ And ‘y’

Nintendo has been gracious enough to release some official artwork of the previously revealed starter Pokemon, as well as the legendary Xerneas and Yveltal, found in ‘Pokemon X’ and ‘Y’.

Gamers have only just become acquainted with the upcoming Pokemon X and Y games, and they are sure to be a smash hit when they arrive on the Nintendo 3DS later this year. Whenever a new game is announced for a franchise of Pokemon‘s magnitude, however, fans are eager to immediately learn more about what to expect from the virtual adventure.

As it stands, details are still quite slim, but The Pokemon Company has continued to release bite-sized details to keep trainers everywhere eager about getting their hands on the first ever fully 3D Pocket Monster games.

Now Nintendo has taken the liberty of releasing some artwork of the starters featured in the new games, as well as some official artwork displaying the two new legendary Pokemon Xerneas and Yveltal. The artwork for Fennekin, Froakie, and Chespin was already featured in the debut trailer for Pokemon X and Y, so fans won’t find much interesting about those pieces, but Nintendo also released a handful of new screenshots that feature each starter in-game and in action.

  • Xerneas: Height: 910 Weight: 474.0 lbs.
  • Yveltal: Height: 1900 Weight: 447.5 lbs.

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are scheduled to launch exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS this October.

Prerelease: Pokmon X And Y

This page details prerelease information and/or media for Pokémon X and Y.

Despite being announced 10 months before their expected release, Pokémon X and Y were in development for a total of 3.5 years, before the Nintendo 3DS was even unveiled! Even so, the games were still being worked on throughout 2013, made evident by several minor changes made between the builds seen in early footage and screenshots and the final release.

Kalos Three Years Later

Three years after the events of Pokemon X and Y, Kalos has grown to be a much larger location, almost twice the size it was three years back. Your journey begins with Serena being your only companion. You begin in Crashnaw City, a huge location in eastern Kalos. Crashnaw City is a very rocky, steep location, and to no surprise, is the location of the game’s new first gym- a Rock-type gym led by a new gym leader- Kyle.

Ramos, Wulfric, Valerie and Olympia are no longer gym leaders.

Ramos and Wulfric have both retired of old age.

Valerie now runs an All-Girls Trainer School in Laverre City.

Olympia is now part of the Kalos Elite 4, which I’ll get to in a minute.

Malva and Diantha are no longer part of the Kalos Elite 4.

Malva has taken upon a massive role in Team Flare, alongside Diantha, who has done the same.

Olympia replaces Malva, as a Psychic-type Elite 4 Member.

Some changes in gym order have occured. The order is as follows:

Kyle, Viola, Stephanie, Grant, Mark, Clemont, Vakoma, Korinna.

Kyle- Kyle is a Rock-type gym leader, and resides in Crashnaw City. He is originally from the Sinnoh region, and hints towards having a partnership with Looker. It is still unknown how the two, and if the two are even related.

Viola- Viola is a returning gym leader from X and Y, and is still a Bug-type gym leader. She is still located in Santalune City, but her gym has been redesigned.

Dark , Ground, Ice, and Grass.

Pokemon Contests from Generation III will be returning.

Pokemon X And Y Sales Hit 4 Million

ByPete Haaslast updated 15 October 2013

Pokemon X and Y were released this weekend and fans showed up in full force to buy them. Nintendo announced today that the games sold a combined 4 million copies on October 12th and 13th.

X and Y hit stores across Japan, Europe and the Americas on Saturday. This was the first global launch in the franchise’s history. By combining data from previous games’ regional launches, though, Nintendo was able to determine that X and Y are selling 70% faster than the last pair of Pokemon RPG’s, Black 2 and White 2.

“The early response to Pokemon X and Pokemon Y not only reaffirms the ongoing passion of Pokemon fans, but also indicates that an entirely new generation of gamers are eager to experience the franchise for themselves, said Nintendo president Satoru Iwata.

In Pokemon X and Y, players take on the role of a young trainer from Vaniville Town. He or she will journey across the Kalos region in a quest to become the top Pokemon master. They’ll start their quest with one of three new starter Pokemon and acquire a collection of others along the way, such as Honedge or Sylveon. Certain Pokemon are only obtainable in one game or another so you’ll have to trade with other players to catch ’em all.

Hardcore Pokemon fans also have the option of buying special X/Y-branded 3DS XL bundles. These XL’s don’t come with copies of the game but feature exclusive artwork modeled after Yveltal and Xerneas, the new Legendary Pokemon.

Complaint #: The Graphics And Presentation Dont Hold Up

Pokémon X and Y were the first 3D mainline games in the series, so their presentation isnt flawless . This left many yearning for the more polished and gorgeous sprite-art of the previous games, leading to them revisiting those titles over Pokémon X and Y. Again, like with the story, this may be a slight turn-off to some newer players, but its not something that ruins the game.

To me, the most disappointing part of the presentation was how it didnt really take advantage of some of the 3DS cool capabilities. 3D is only used in a couple of the games rooms and in battles, and when it is on the games frame-rate frustratingly drops. From a wider perspective, I like to describe Pokémon X and Y for the most part as 2D Pokémon games presented in 3D, whereas titles like Pokémon Sun and Moon are clearly built from the ground up for 3D.

Visual design philosophies from previous generations stickhence the big headsalong with some rough and janky animations, and standardized towns. 3D games will always age worse than 2D ones, but I still find the games animations charming enough to not be an eye-sore. As I mentioned in my section about the Kalos region as a whole, I was also impressed by the varied visual design of pretty much every town in the game, and some of what they did could not have been done if the games were in 2D.

  • In Defense Of Pokmon X And Y Five Years Later

Five years after their initial release, I look back and defend what are considered two of the weaker entires in the Pokémon series, Pokémon X and Y for 3DS.

    By Tomas Franzese

I still remember my brother waking me up one morning in eighth grade because he was super excited to show me something: a reveal trailer for a new Pokémon game. Since our hearts were captured by Pokémon Sapphire and Emerald, my brother and I had followed each new entry as it came out in Japan and then the US. But this trailer was different. It showed that the Pokémon series not only that it had shifted to a simultaneous worldwide release, but that it had gone 3D for the first time ever in the mainline series.

We were immediately elated and excited, following every bit of news we could find on the topic. The entire community was almost just as excited as we were before release as well. While Pokémon Coliseum and XD Gale of Darkness are good in their own right, they didnt feature the series mainline mechanics, so this was really our first true look at what a traditional Pokémon game could be like in 3D. Then, the exciting announcements kept piling on, with the new Fairy type and the introduction of Mega Evolutions making the biggest splash of all.

That being said, Pokémon X and Y are some of my favorites in the series, so I wanted to analyze some of the common criticisms leveled at the titles in defense of the games, and show that they may not actually be as bad as you may currently perceive.

    Connectivity To Other Devices

Along with the many additions that X and Y introduced, various improvements to the communication features were also implemented. Using the Player Search System , players can encounter and keep track of various online players, including strangers, allowing them to easily initiate battles or trades. The Holo Caster allows the player to receive messages and updates from NPCs via StreetPass and SpotPass. Wonder Trade is a new trading feature which allows players to trade one of their Pokémon in exchange for a random one from another player. Other features include O-Powers, temporary powers that can increase stats and can be exchanged with other players, and improvements to the Global Trade System, allowing players to request Pokémon they have not encountered. At certain points in the game, players will be able to take in-game screenshots, which they can then share on the Pokémon Global Link website.

As we near the end of the 6th Generation of Pokémon, there has been a niggling feeling for some of us of what could have been. Pokémon X and Y introduced a new region, Kalos, for players to explore. This new region was one of the largest we have ever seen, had the largest city we have ever seen, and brought more Pokémon than ever before. Pokémon X and Y set a new standard for Pokémon games, with 3D battles and models, as well as moving away from grid-based movements.

Most of us toiled away and were excited when ORAS was teased and then launched. However, there was still no news of a third version of Pokémon X and Y… Typically third versions have expanded on the stories and areas from the default games, as well as giving us entirely new areas and, more importantly for many people, new battle facilities. XY left us with many clues towards these, but with the announcement of Sun and Moon, these hopes were dashed. So what happened to Pokémon Z version? I am going to look at the evidence that I have noticed that may hint to Pokémon Z having existed and had enough to build on going forwards from X and Y.

    What Could Have Been

Pokémon Z would have followed the general premise of other third games. It would be twisted and molded around Zygarde. My initial idea to this was that a collection quest would take place. As we now know, this is incredibly likely to happen in Pokémon Sun and Moon, as both Dexio and Sina appear and give you an item in which to collect Cells.

You would slowly collect and find other Zygarde-Cells to add to your Zygarde-Core and work your way up to Zygarde-10%. This idea was backed up by a comment about the Zygarde-Cells on the official website. I presumed that it would stay in this forme until the pivotal moment in the story , where it became Zygarde-50% and then during a cut-scene became Zygarde-Complete. This would likely be during the showdown with Lysandre in the Team Flare base at Geosenge Town. As we know now from released information, it seems Zygarde goes straight from 10% forme to Complete through the usage of its ability Power Construct.

Problems With Pokemon X And Y

The Generation 6 Pokemon games were undoubtedly ambitious. On top of transitioning series’ staples into 3D, Kalos introduced 69 monster , a brand-new Fairy typing to balance battle match-ups, and an underlying story with a more somber tone than most of its contemporaries. All the greatest hits were present, from eight unique Gym Leaders as part of a League challenge to the fashion-conscious evil Team Flare, but it was all set atop a region with a rich history exploring a war and the mass extinction which ended it.

Yet, many will surely remember these games for technical troubles. Lag was a problem, particularly during multi-battles – including the new horde battles. While Diamond and Pearl were criticized for slow pacing years prior, Pokemon X and Y‘s issues were clearly due to optimization given their choppy framerate and slow response times. Battles were also seemingly more unbalanced than ever thanks to quality-of-life innovations such as Pokemon Amie that gave happy teammates better odds of dodging or living a fatal hit and because of overpowered monsters such as Mega Kangaskan.

What We Know About Gen 6 Pokmon

Originating from the Kalos region, which takes inspiration from northern France, Gen 6 introduces 72 new Pokémon. This includes a collection of new legendaries, the traditional three – grass, water and fire – starter Pokémon and Klefki, the sentient keys Pokémon because why not.

Here are some interesting facts about how Gen 6 makes itself unique among the multiple Pokémon generations:

Pokmon X & Y Cancelled Sequels Revealed In Latest Nintendo Leak

Pokemon X and Y – Fairy Type Confirmed, New Pokemon, & Release Date!

The Nintendo gigaleak continues to gush, and the source code for the 3DS Pokémon games reveals cancelled sequels that were planned for X & Y.

In the most recent Nintendo leak, the plans for cancelled sequels to Pokémon X and Y have been unearthed. The sixth generation of Pokémon is one of the more divisive eras to many series fans, and this is in part due to Kalos never receiving a sequel or third “Z” version game like the other generations, but that may have not been Game Freak’s or Nintendo’s original plan.

Pokémon X and Y were the first 3D handheld Pokémon games to be released for the main series. Being on the extremely successful 3DS, the games sold immensely well. This financial success continues with Sword and Shield, showing that Pokémon is a hotter item than ever before. Gen VI introduced the immensely powerful Mega Evolutions that gave some old Pokémon new life and made popular ones even more powerful, though X and Y were also criticized for having a lack of postgame content. This was especially jarring considering the game that came before this was Pokémon Black & White 2, sequel games that were packed with content. This also wasn’t helped by a lack of a third game like Pokémon Platinum for Kalos, which has made Gen VI more contentious in the eyes of many.
