Obtain A Wishing Piece

Catch Ditto Near Lake Of Outrage In Wild Area

To catch yourself a Ditto you are going to want to make your way to the Lake of Outrage in the Wild Area. This location can be found to the southeast of Hammerlocke. Once in the area you will want to have access to the Rotom Water bike. This bike allows you to go on water. Using the Rotom Water Bike cross the Lake of Outrage to reach the west banks. On the west banks you will find a couple of grassy areas. Inside the grass in this area you may encounter Ditto.

Tips for Capturing Ditto

• Bring a lot of Ultra Balls.
• Use a Pokemon that is around Dittos level.
• Status effects like sleep, paralyze, etc. to make catching easier.

Ditto In Pokmon Sword & Shield:

Method #1:

Ditto is capable of being located within the Max Raid battles located within the Wild Area. Difficulty will range and Ditto himself is a fairly rare appearance in raid battles.

Method #2:

Once youve reached Route #9 and defeat Team Yell, you will receive access to the Water upgrade for your Rotom Bicycle. Travel back to the Wild Area outside of Hammerlocke and go to the Lake of Outrage Area across the water using your brand new bike capabilities. Travel to the patch of grass below in order to find Ditto waiting for you.

Note: You will need up to badge #7 in order to catch Ditto as it will appear as level 55-57.

Ditto’s most common usage in recent Pokemon games is tied to the Breeding system, which allows players to combine Pokemon to create new eggs. As a transforming Pokemon, Ditto can be massively useful as it allows players to breed any Pokemon that is capable of doing so.

Where To Get Your Perfect Ditto

The spot youll need to camp out in is the Stony Wilderness section of the Wild Area. If you see a purple light inside the well, this means that the Max Raid is going to feature a Ditto.

If you cant seem to find a purple well, you can always force one to appear by speaking to the Watts Trader and purchasing a Wishing Piece for 3,000 Watts. This will cause a raid to appear nearby, but it wont always be a Ditto.

Weve got one more trick to make sure you get a Ditto raid. First, turn off autosave and set your text speed to slow. Then, save your game before using a Wishing Piece. If the raid that spawns isnt purple, hit your home key, close the game, and reload it from just before you used the Wishing Piece. Now you can keep using that same Wishing Piece until you find a 5-star Ditto raid.

Now you can use that perfect Ditto to breed whatever you want and impart that baby with perfect IVs.

Brilliant Glowing Aura Ditto

Another method for getting a good Ditto is to look for a Brilliant Glowing Aura Ditto in the Wild Area. Brilliant Glowing Aura Pokemon are guaranteed to have at least 3/6 “Best” stats. To find a Brilliant Glowing Aura Ditto head to the Lake of Outrage in the Wild Area. There are three patches of grass, each filled with powerful Pokemon as well as Ditto.

Once you find where the Dittos are spawning start defeating all of the non-aura Ditto you see to force more to spawn. You will want to use a fast Pokemon that can take out the Ditto with one hit to keep it from transforming. Do this long enough and you will eventually encounter an aura Ditto. Just be sure you have another Pokemon on hand to weaken the Ditto for catching when the time comes.

In an effort to add even more longevity to Galar by Game Freak, you can now find two types of shiny Pokemon standard and square. Standard shinies are the shiny Pokemon everyone knows and loves from previous games, while square shinies are brand new.

On paper, for every shiny encounter in the game, it has a 1/16 chance of being a square shiny instead of the standard. Youll be able to tell whether its standard or square by the intro animation the usual stars will be replaced by square outlines, but the difference in colour palette is still the same. Dont worry, square shinies arent a different shade!

Its not quite as simple as that however. If you follow the chaining method explained above by catching or defeating 25 of the same Pokemon in a row, those 1/16 odds will be flipped. Instead, youll have 15/16 odds of finding a square shiny, and just 1/16 of the shiny being standard.

Ditto Den Raid Battle

One way to guarantee the Ditto you are catching has high Individual Values is to catch one from a 5 Star Raid battle in the Wild Area. To get a 5 Star Ditto Raid to spawn you will need a lot of Wishing Pieces and a little luck, so we recommend doing this in the post-game where it is easier to farm Watts.

Once you have a nice stash of Wishing Pieces and are ready to take on the Raid, fly to Bridge Field. Walk directly forward, looking out for two trees on your right side. When you reach those trees, turn right and head forward looking for a patch of grass with a dead end and a Raid Den behind it . This den has a good chance of spawning a Ditto Raid, so start tossing in Wishing Pieces and pray for that 5 Star raid to appear.

If you are short on Wishing Pieces, you can attempt to use this exploit to guarantee you will find a rare Raid. Alternatively, you could search the public news feed and try and join someone else’s 5 Star Ditto Raid, if you are lucky enough to see one.

Once you find the Raid, it is time to battle. Because this is a 5 Star Raid Ditto will have two shield phases, meaning a long encounter. Its good to choose a Pokemon with a high health pool or good defense that can take a few Dynamax attacks. To make things even easier use one of the late game legendary Pokemon. Dynamax Ditto is unable to Transform into them, so his Transform will fail if it targets them. Once the Ditto is defeated throw you best Poke Ball and pray for a catch.

Many people use Ditto to try and hatch a shiny Pokémon using the Masuda Method. Each Pokémon has a language assigned to it, this is the language that the player has listed on the game. When you get a Pokémon in a trade that has a different language from your own assigned to it you should be especially happy. The chances of you hatching a shiny Pokémon go up from 1/4096 to 1/682.7 when you breed two Pokémon from different languages together. If you happen to have the Shiny Charm and are using the Masuda Method, your odds go up to 1/512.

If youre in the Lake of Outrage area and look for a trade partner online, you might just be able to trade your Ditto for a Ditto from another trainer. If youre lucky, it will be a foreign Ditto. I got lucky and was able to find someone from Japan willing to trade Dittos on my first try.

How To Use Ditto For Nursery Parenting

Found in the north east corner of the huge Wild Area map, this island is off by itself and might be skipped by most players. Thankfully Ditto appears in any weather condition, but even knowing where Ditto spawns might not be enough to actually catch him though.

Once you make it to the island, Ditto shouldnt be too rare. He appears about 20% of the time a Pokemon spawns. Making it easier is that Ditto will appear in the overworld, so you can avoid the surprise encounters for now. Just wander the area until you see one, but keep your eyes sharp, he is a bit tiny.
