Pokmon Heartgold And Soulsilver Versions

Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver – Did You Know Gaming? Feat. Dazz

Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version are paired Generation IVremakes of the Generation II games Pokémon Gold and Silver.

Much like how Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen revisited the Generation I story of Kanto, HeartGold and SoulSilver retell the story of Johto, with the players starting town being New Bark Town. While the games feature several expansions in key areas, the overall plot follows the same direction as the original Gold and Silver. Some aspects exclusive to Crystal are also included. Like how FireRed and LeafGreen could link up with Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald to complete the Pokédex by trading regionally exclusive Pokémon, HeartGold and SoulSilver can link up with Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum to obtain Pokémon unavailable in Johto and Kanto and vice versa.

The games were released on September 12, 2009 in Japan, February 4, 2010 in Korea, March 14, 2010 in North America, March 25, 2010 in Australia and March 26, 2010 in Europe .

Did Pokemon Start As A Video Game

When most people think of Pokemon, they think about the popular game series for Nintendo. But did you know that the Pokémon franchise began as a video game?

Although todays gamers are familiar with various types of console games, it is important to realize that this trend only started in the 1970s. Before then there were no microprocessor-based home consoles, and the only people who could play video games were those at computer labs or arcades.

However, starting in the late 1970s home consoles that allowed players to control action on a screen by pressing buttons on a controller started appearing. Most of these games did not have any story line and focused mainly on action and quick hand-eye coordination skills.

Find The Blue Flute In Viridian Forest

Although one can use the Pokégear to play the Poké Flute song on the radio, there is also something called a “Blue Flute.” The Blute Flute can be used to awaken Pokémon in battle while the radio card cannot.

The Blue Flute is found in the Kanto region and is similar to the Poké Flute. Head to the beginning area of the Viridian Forest and you should find the Blue Flute laying on the ground. It awakens your Pokémon for free, so it beats using an Awakening item.

How Can I Succeed Playing Heartgold And Soulsilver

  • Make It Harder: Thats right, make it harder than it has to beor rather, than it is. Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver are not hard games. In fact, once you already have a strong team, its not hard to slay all day. Its a great way to make things quick and boring. Take your time with the game and pass and fail a few times and really have fun, train your team, and use different techniques.
  • The Few and the Proud: Instead of concentrating on bringing every Pokémon you capture to a high level, train a few to be absolutely superior. Have an army of 12 that are in the fighting categories you need, in layers like a true military strategist would. Youll have more fun and kick some serious butt along the way!
  • Keep the Game Tutorial for Emergencies Only: Does that sound scary? It should, and you should take that fear and uncertainty to the next level and explore! If you get lost in the system, you can refer to the tutorials and walkthroughs and tips that are available, but dont make it a crutch. Part of the point and the fun is the unknown. Take a look at the Pokémon that are on your capture list. Study the tools youve got to use and dig in!
  • Fight Any Trainers You Come Across: Fighting the wild Pokémon is a main point in the game, but the real valor and moneyand well everythingcome from fighting the trainers. We say fight the most powerful to win and practice on the weaker set. Does that sound like a plan?

Pokmon Heartgold And Pokmon Soulsilver: An Overview

Pokémon HeartGold and Pokémon SoulSilver are the Nintendo DS remakes of the 1999 Game Boy Color games Pokémon Gold and Silver. They were announced by Nintendo on May 8, 2009 and appeared about 10 years after their originals, on September 12, 2009, in Japan.

The release dates for Korea, America, Australia, and Europe were strikingly close together: in Korea, both games were released on February 4th, in America on March 14th, in Australia on March 25th, and in Europe on March 26th, 2010. Thus, they became the first games in the main series that were announced and released in South Korea before Europe and America. In addition, they are the first and so far only editions that were delivered with a playable additional device, the Pokéwalker.

The plot of the games is based almost exclusively on those of the Gold and Silver editions with some elements from the Crystal edition and completely new content. In the beginning, the player finds himself in the small New Bark Town, where he begins his adventure with his first Pokémon.

In the Johto region, he or she can choose from the starter Pokémon Chicorita, Cyndaquil or Totorile, one of which can be obtained from Professor Elm. He sends the protagonist to Mr. Pokémon to run an errand for the professor. Once there, you meet Professor Oak, who gives you a Pokédex.

Within the Kanto region, the player also has the opportunity to win even more medals and experience even more of the world of Pokémon.

    Should’ve Added: More Pokmon Variety

One of the biggest letdowns of Gold and Silver was the number of new monsters it introduced. Sitting at one hundred new Pokémon, it still has the smallest number of native Pokémon out of any region.

This showed in the original games, with most of the Pokémon found in the wild being from Kanto, but since the remakes were Fourth Gen, this should’ve been fixed right? Unfortunately not. While a few Pokémon from other regions are added post-game, the roster is still lackluster. There really shouldn’t be a stretch of water with only Tentacool.

Catch A Lapras In Union Cave

Union Cave is a cave appearing in the Johto region between Route 32 and Route 33. The cave is connected to the ocean, and it’s found deep underground. Under the right circumstances, a wild Lapras can be captured in Union Cave.

More Than A Remake: Pokemon Heartgold And Soulsilver

    12 years agoBen Perlee

I had waited for weeks. Weeks. It was a pretty cold and miserable night in late October 2000, but the homework was done and I was ready. You see, weeks back I had filled out a Nintendo Power pull-out, dropped two or three $20 bills into an envelope, and was waiting for my prize. Hours went by, and I was checking the doorstop every ten minutes to see if FedEx had come by. Finally, much later than usual, I opened the door, and there it was: Pokémon Silver, sitting in a box waiting to be opened.

That night will go down as the de-facto gaming experience of my childhood. Pokémon wasnt just something I played, it was something I lived. My early web surfing life was full of checking out Pokémon sites to find out about the latest monsters to be uncovered. It was more than just Pikachu it was Totodile, it was Marill, it was three wandering dogs and two dangerous birds. Never again has a game impacted me like that. No following Pokémon game could ever compare to that, and none would ever hold my imagination like that.

Now, Nintendo has done the worst, and forced my childhood to come back with a vengeance. PokémonHeartGold and SoulSilver are due to be released in the States come March 14, and as luck would have it, this is the only Pokémon game I have wanted to play in the last ten years. While things are not that different, its enough to make me pay attention and want to shell out for this game. Hit the jump for my hands-on.

Should’ve Added: Changed Johto Level Progression

One of the more frustrating parts of Generation 2 is the wonky level progression throughout the story. It’s fine in the beginning when the opening leaders having an appropriate challenge level, but unfortunately, this quickly changes. The fifth, sixth, and seventh gym leaders can be fought in any order, which leads to them all being under-leveled.

Combined with their small teams, they pose little to no threat to a player that’s prepared at all. On the other hand, the Elite Four are way higher leveled, which forces the player to grind before fighting them. Bringing this back in the remakes is a decision that players still struggle to understand.

King Of Fighter 2000 English Version

The King of Fighters series has been going since the early nineties, with the fifteenth mainline game is due to come out this year. With so many games in the series, it isnt surprising that one of them would eventually pop up as rare. That game turned out to be King of Fighters 2000.

King of Fighters 2000 was the seventh mainline game in the series, releasing on NEO GEO in the summer of 2000. Despite the franchises growing acclaim overseas, it still had a limited release in the West. In fact, it was so limited, that the English version of the game now sells for at least $10,000.

King of Fighters 2000 would go on to be ported to other, more modern consoles, but that hasnt lowered the price of the original at all. Thats honestly if you can even find the original. Its easily the rarest game on the list.

Obtain Kanto Starter Pokmon From Professor Oak

I Played Pokemon Storm silver For 100 Hours… Here’s What Happened! (Rom hack)

After you’ve obtained all 16 badges and beat Trainer Red, you can get one of three Kanto starters in the Kanto region. To get either Charmander, Bulbasaur, or Squirtle, you must talk to Professor Oak in Pallet Town after completing the previously mentioned tasks.

Who you choose is up to you. These Pokémon are some of the most impactful in existence. The fact you can get these Kanto starters in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver is stupendous.

Whats the difference between Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver?

Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver are the last games not to have restrictions on nicknames and other input fields, as newer games have built-in censors prohibiting inputs that are deemed inappropriate or offensive. The official HeartGold and SoulSilver page on the Japanese Pokémon website.

What are the new features in Pokemon HeartGold?

New features. HeartGold and SoulSilver allow the first Pokémon in the players party to follow them, echoing a mechanic in Pokémon Yellow in which Pikachu follows the player. Apart from Yellow, this mechanic was also used in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum in a limited fashion: when the player is in Amity Park with a cute Pokémon.

Its Extremely Hard To Find A Copy Of Either Game

For some reason, there werent as many print copies created of HeartGold and SoulSilver. Because of this, it is difficult to find a copy of the games now.

Even if you do, dont be surprised if theyre priced extremely high at around $300 or more at online retailers like Amazon. Even on other sites like eBay, its not much better. Most people price the games between $50 and $100 or more.

Which Starter Pokmon Should I Use As A Beginner On Heartgold Or Soulsilver

There are three top Pokémon to use if you are just starting out on HeartGold or SoulSilver.

Here they are with a bit of an introduction so you can start right away and enjoy the game without too much frustration.

Youll get the hang of it and all the characters soon enough, but starting with the best ones for the beginner is a smart choice.

  • Totodile: Totodile is the elite of the starter sets. Team them up with a really strong Pokémon team, and you could wipe out most of your attackers. Its graced with the power of attack as well as good HP and superior defense. It trumps the power of most other water types and can learn some fierce moves. Make sure they learn the Crunch, Dragon Claw, and Dragon Pulse abilities when they breed.
  • Cyndaquil: For beginners of SS and HG, this is a great choice. It uses Blaze and is strong in both speed and special attack. You will still have some strong issues with the 5, 7, and 8 gym leaders in Johto and the 4 and 6 in the Kanto region. With the right training, it has been known to obliterate the Elite Four. That one is going to take some practice.
  • You will first go up against bird types and bug types of Pokémon.

Use that information to train your Chikorita.

We are also referencing Pokémon SS and HG for some.

Then, if you want a peek into what may be next, the 5th, 7th, and 8th gym leaders use Dragon, Ice, and Steel type Pokémon.

You have your work cut out for you.
