What Are Evolution Crystals
After you beat the main story, you will be able to evolve your Pokemon. After you watch the end credits, you can head to Whiscash Pond and evolve your Pokemon if they are the required level. In previous Pokemon games, certain Pokemon like Eevee or Pikachu would need specific items to evolve. However, in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX, all of these evolution items are replaced by a single item – Evolution Crystals.
These items can be tricky to find, but you’ll definitely want a few of them to evolve your main team. For evolving base-form Pokemon to their first evolution, you will need 2 Evolution Stones. To evolve a Pokemon from their first to second evolution, you will need 4 Evolution Stones for a total of 6 Evolution Crystals to fully evolve a Pokemon.

First you have to beat Rayquaza and then a call and then poke squer snubel gevolueerd in gran bull then you start an adventure and your partner asks if it is good to another Pokmon leader. Say yes. And then you have another Pokemon leader and go all alone in the cave sorry I’m Dutch. And not good english

After you beat Rayquaza then go to where whiscash used to be and go in the cave. Some Pokemon need items.

The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon spin-off series is quite different to the main Pokemon games in that rather than playing as a Pokemon trainer, you’re instead actually cast as a Pokemon – and that significantly changes how the game approaches the concept of evolution. This has been the case with the sub-series right back to its Game Boy roots, but things are complicated even more in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX on Nintendo Switch – as this remake changes things up from the original release.
To avoid any confusion, we thought we’d gather together all of the information you need to know on Pokemon Evolution in this specific Nintendo Switch iteration of the franchise – so you can go in nicely informed. So here it all is. Simple.
Can Pokemon Evolve In Mystery Dungeon
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon is a spinoff of the popular Pokémon series that puts you into the shoes of a human who has been transformed into a pokemon. The various editions come with various species to choose from, but your character will always start out as one chosen at random.
Your choice of pokemon determines what type you are and what stats are preferable for you to build upon. There are two types: Physical and Special Attack, with stats for HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk., Sp. Def., and Speed already pre-determined by your choice of pokemon species at the beginning of the game.
Now you may be wondering if there is any way to evolve your pokemon into a different form depending on your choice, and if not, does your pokemon evolve at all? The simple answer is no. Your character will never evolve into a different form like it would in the main series games.
Even if you do choose to start as an Eevee youll still end up with the exact same stats that you would have gotten if you had chosen another pokemon to start out as.

Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon Mega Evolution Guide
In addition to 700+ Pokemon in Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, a handful of these Pokemon can undergo Mega Evolution which allows them to change into deadlier and more powerful forms.
However, the concept of undergoing Mega Evolution works a little differently in this game than mainstream Pokemon titles. No longer are there any specific Mega Evolution stones which you need to use in order to Mega Evolve a Pokemon.
Instead of Mega Evolution stones, there are Emeras Stones and Looplets. Emeras Stones are basically dungeon-specific items. These stones can only be found in dungeons and can only be used in dungeons from which they are acquired.
Do note that once you leave a dungeon, the Emeras Stone specific to that particular dungeon will also disappear from your character. In addition to this, you will also lose the Looplet which is another item that is used to attach an Emeras Stone.
In order to Mega Evolve a Pokemon, you need to attach that specific Emeras Stone to a Looplet and then attach it to the Pokemon you wish to Mega Evolve. Last thing that you need to understand is that not every Pokemon in the game can be Mega Evolved and there are some Pokemon which has more than one Mega Evolution forms.

Is It Possible To Evolve Pokemon In Mystery Dungeon
To the Pokémon inhabitants in Mystery Dungeon, evolution seems to be a new concept to them as well, as it is unheard of by the characters until Rayquaza has stopped the meteor, so evolution is in other words impossible before you have beaten the first half of the game and seen the credits roll.
To unlock Pokemon Evolution in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX, you first have to beat the games main story. Thats kinda counter-intuitive, but it makes sense in the bigger picture of the game.

So You Can Evolve Pokmon In Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team Dx
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX is different from typical Pokémon games in that you play a Pokémon rather than a Pokémon trainer. You’ll spend the game helping other Pokémon and recruiting them to join your Rescue Team and adventure with you. The flavor might be unusual, but the game is still about filling out your Pokédex, and some of the Pokémon can only be added to your team through evolution.
While you can catch evolved Pokémon throughout the game, you can’t do any evolving until you’ve completed the main story but, yes! You can do it. After you complete the game, you’ll want to pay a visit to Whiscash Pond. From there, you’ll gain access to the Wonderous Cave along with your other unlocked dungeons. Send the Pokémon you want to evolve there alone and designated as party leader, and if they are ready to evolve, they will.
The game will notify you if they don’t meet a level requirement. You can then come back when they’re leveled up, which usually just takes a few runs in the game’s training dojo.
Can You Mega Evolve In Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Dx: Evolution And Mega Evolution Guide For Rescue Team Dx
A key trait of Pokemon is their ability to evolve after enough battles, changing their strength, size and characteristics. Its mentioned early on in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX that evolving isnt working like it usually does. So can you even evolve in this adventure?
As youll eventually find out, yes you can evolve. Following the events of the main story, youll be told about a cave appearing near the lake. The game will make sure to draw your attention to this event so you dont miss it, but its important to remember youll have to beat the main story first what you see early on is only a hint at the fact this cave holds power and is the key to learning how to evolve in Rescue Team DX.

Unique Pokemon Evolution Methods: Eevee Evolution And Wurmple Branching
Just as a quick note, there are two Pokemon in the game that have slightly differ in terms of their evolution methodology: Eevee and Wurmple. Here’s how both work:
- Eevee of course is the poster child Pokemon for evolution and in this game can evolve into all of its various forms: Vaporeon, Flareon, Jolteon, Umbreon, Espeon, Leafeon and Sylveon. Each type represents a particular Pokemon type. Unlike most other games, Eevee Evolution is simple here: when you send an Eevee into the Luminous Cave to evolve, you get to straight-up choose which eeveelution you want. It’ll cost you two Evolution Crystals.
- For Wurmple, the bug-type Pokemon follows the same evolution path as in the main games: so Wurmple can evolve into either Silcoon or Cascoon, and which you get is entirely random. Silcoon then evolves into Beautifly while Cascoon evolves into Dustox.

How To Evolve Your Pokemon In Mystery Dungeon Dx
After you clear the game, the player is informed that something weird is going on with Snubbull.
Once you reach the Whiscash Pond, you’ll see Alakazam with a ‘new’ Pokemon .
Snubbull found himself changed after going into an opening of the stepping rocks on the pond – Alakazam will introduce you to him and tell you he had evolved and will be powered up.
After this, the cave under the rocks will be opened. By entering the cave, the Pokemon can evolve.
Only one Pokemon will be able to enter at one time – you will need to make the Pokemon you wish to evolve the leader.
You must leave the cave and come back again if you want to further evolve, provided that you have fulfilled the requirements for evolution.
Your Pokemon has to be alone to enter the Luminous Cave. You would have to make it the leader of the team and let the other team members return to their Friend Areas.
To make a Pokemon the leader of the team, approach it in its Friend Area, and let it join the team. Talk to it again, and you can select the option “Make Leader”. This will make your Pokemon the leader of the team.
Since your original leader is still part of the team, you will have to go to the Friend Area of the original leader and ask it to “Stand By”. Your new leader will now be alone, and you can enter the Luminous Cave.
Consider Moves Learned At Specific Levels
Evolution, unlike the main games does not raise your stats by high values. Because of this, evolution can hinder you sometimes as it prevents you from learning powerful moves at early levels.
Charmander
In Charmander’s case, it learns Inferno at Lv. 42. If you evolved it into a Charmeleon or a Charizard it learns it at Lv. 54 and Lv. 62 respectively. If you want Inferno early on, do not evolve your Charmander until Lv. 42

Can Pokemon Be Shiny In Mystery Dungeon
With a lot of luck and patience, Shiny Pokémon can be found in various dungeons during the game. Players will encounter various Pokémon to fight and sometimes recruit while exploring dungeons, but some may pop up in their Shiny forms. There are only 27 in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon DX that can appear as a Shiny.
How Do You Evolve Pokmon
The stones and items that were used to evolve Pokémon in the main series and previous versions of Mystery Dungeon have been abandoned here. Instead, some Pokémon can only evolve with Evolution Crystals. These can be found in endgame dungeons and are occasionally acquired as a reward for performing jobs or sold by dungeon vendors. Because these resources can be hard to find, you should save them for Pokémon whose evolutions aren’t easy to catch during your regular adventures.
Evolution upgrades your Pokémon’s stats, though it can’t be reversed, so make your decisions carefully. It’s great for improving your starter and partner Pokémon, who have to be used in some dungeons, but they will sadly lose their cute scarves when you do it.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX also allows Mega Evolutions for some Pokémon. This requires another rare item, Empowerment Seeds, and also is only available once you’ve completed the main story. While regular evolution is permanent, Mega Evolution is a buff that will improve your Pokémon’s stats and make all of their linked moves critical hits for a few floors of the dungeon you’re in. Those boosts are extremely useful in the game’s tougher boss fights, so choose when to use your Seeds wisely.

How To Unlock Evolution
In Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX, it’s not possible to evolve your Pokemon until after your clear the story. You have to use your unevolved Starter and Partner Pokemon while clearing the story, but it’s possible to befriend already evolved Pokemon and have them help you!
After you clear the story, a cutscene will play once you eventually enter Pokemon Square. Snubbull accidentally turned into a Granbull after going into a cave that appeared at Whiscash’s Pond, and going there will grant you access to Luminous Cave and Evolution.
Making A Pokemon The Leader
As mentioned before, your Pokemon has to be alone in order for it to enter the Luminous Cave. As such, in order to evolve a Pokemon, you would have to make it the leader of the team and let the other team members return to their Friend Areas.
To make a Pokemon the leader of the team, approach it in its Friend Area, and let it join the team. Talk to it again, and you can select the option “Make Leader”. This will make your Pokemon the leader of the team.
Since your original leader is still part of the team, you will have to go to the Friend Area of the original leader and ask it to “Stand By”. Your new leader will now be alone, and you can enter the Luminous Cave. You can also select “Stand By” from the menu if you are at your team base.

What Is The Best Starter In Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Dx
Charmander. Charmander is probably our first pick. Aside from looking good in the scarf, it has good stats and a very high damage output. Though it loses something in defense, it also has a lot of long-range moves that can keep dangers at bay or defeat them before they come within striking distance.
