General Strengths Of Fire

The stats of Fire-type Pokemon can be a bit well-rounded. It is ranked as number 3 when it comes to the Sp. Attack. That is pretty much it as most of its other stats are ranked in the middle from 6 to 8. A lot of Fire-type moves are purely offensive-based and can be able to inflict Burn or BRN status to enemy Pokemon.

Fire-type are effective against Bug, Grass, Steel, and Ice-types so keep that in mind.

One other good thing is that Fire-types, release less damage to the same Fire-types as well. Fire-types are also resistant to Fairy-types.

Pokemon Go: Every Types Weakness

Pokemon GO shares the rock-paper-scissors nature of the mainline series when it comes to combat, but it can be tricky to remember all of the elemental type advantages with so many types in play at once.

Niantic has fortunately provided a helpful article on its official Pokemon GO site to remind its players what weaknesses and resistances are out there. Since the games inclusion of Fairy-type Pokemon and moves, Pokemon GO is now up-to-date with its type effectiveness alongside the current titles in the franchise such as Pokemon Sword & Shield.

Super-effective damage is vital to trainers combat capabilities, as taking advantage of type weaknesses is a core concept in Pokemon GO.

Pokmon Types & Type Chart

We created a table chart showing all Pokémon’s types, which types they strike hard, and which types strike them. Plus, we also added resistances, because some types take less damage from others and Dr. Oak forgot to tell you. Below the chart, there’s an explanation about single and double-type Pokémon and how attacks behave in these situations.

Pokmon Legends: Arceus Types Strengths And Weakness

Pokémon also has its own set of weaknesses and strengths. For example, bug-type Pokémon are weak against fire-, flying-, and rock-type moves. Bug-type moves are strong against dark-, grass-, and psychic-type moves. Fire-, flying-, and rock-type moves will do double damage against a bug-type, like Wurmple.

Some Pokémon have two types, which means they can have a doubled weakness or have their strength and weaknesses cancel out to just take normal damage. Abomasnow, a grass- and ice-type, takes four times the damage from fire-type moves. On the flip side, Sealeo, a water- and ice-type, takes normal damage from fire-type moves, since water-type is strong against fire-type.

Strengths and weaknesses arent necessarily just opposites of each other. Though fire-type moves deal less damage to water-type Pokémon and water-type moves do doubled damage against fire-type Pokémon, this isnt the case with every type. For example, fighting-type moves are strong against normal-types, but normal-types just do regular damage against fighting-types.

Knowing what Pokémons strengths and weaknesses are is an important aspect of raiding and battling. To do the most damage you can in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, make sure that your Pokémons moves are strong against whatever its battling.

Memorizing all of that can get confusing, so heres a chart to help you out.

Pokmon Go Type Chart: How To Remember Pokmon Types

For anyone who has invested years of play into this series, the type system becomes second nature. While in time your memory too will retain most of, if not the full set of relationships it is worth learning the logical relationships that do exist.

The classic example taught at the beginning of every Pokémon game is that fire is super effective against grass, which is in turn super effective against water, which is in turn super effective against fire. This is easy enough to follow fire burns grass, grass thrives with water, water puts out fire but finding similar relationships in the other 18 types is will help you remember the system.

Here are some other ideas to get you started:

  • Rocks effectiveness against flying is reminiscent of the phrase kill two birds with one stone
  • Similarly, psychic is effective against fighting because brains are better than brawn but psychic is vulnerable to dark and ghost because the mind cannot cope with the unknown and supernatural
  • Ground types are immune to electric attacks because being grounded is an important principle in electric circuits but ground can be swept away be water, cracked by ice and exploited by grass.

Pokemon Go Type Chart: Strength Weakness And Effectiveness For All Types

Pokemon Types are the core of battles in Pokemon Go just as in the rest of the series – and to succeed, you’ll need to understand Pokemon type strengths, weaknesses and effectiveness.

As hardcore Pokemon fans will already know quite well, each Pokemon has one or two types, and types determine much about how that Pokemon battles. For the Pokemon Trainer, type is important because certain types are strong against others, meaning you can deal or take additional damage, or on the other hand lessen the amount of damage received.

There’s 18 different types, and each type is either strong, weak or neutral versus other types. At the most basic level with the starter Pokemon this breaks down to Rock, Paper, Scissors – Charmander beats Bulbasaur who beats Squirtle which comes full circle by beating Fire.

That all makes sense and is nice and easy – though things get more complicated when you start introducing more obtuse Pokemon Types types like Fairy or Dragon, or when you consider Pokemon with multiple types. Then you have to consider that moves have types – so a fire-type Pokemon like Charizard can easily come stacked with Dragon and Flying-type moves, meaning its damage output on the type chart is attached to those types rather than its raw type.

Pokemon Fighting Type Strengths

Top 10 WEAKEST Fire Type Pokemon

The good news, if youre the one using one, is fighting Pokemon have more strengths than weaknesses. Theyll do extra damage to any Dark, Ice, Normal, Rock, or Steel Pokemon.

That means a Fighting type Pokemon makes an excellent counter to some powerhouse foes:

  • Dark: Tyranitar, Hydreigon, Krookodile, Wavile, Bisharp, etc.
  • Ice: Kyurem, Mamoswine, Glaceon, Regice, Articuno, etc.
  • Normal: Slaking, Meloetta, Porygon-Z, Snorlax, Braviary, etc.
  • Rock: Tyranitar, Rhyperior, Terrakion, Archeops, Rampardos, etc.
  • Steel: Dialga, Metagross, Melmetal, Genesect, Excadrill, etc.

Steelixs Weakness In Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Steelix is a dual Steel/Ground-type, which means that its weak to Fighting, Ground, Fire, and Water-type moves. Its defensive typing also makes it immune to Electric and Poison, while also making it resistant to Normal, Flying, Steel, Bug, Psychic, Dragon, and Fairy. On top of that, its even more resistant to Rock-type, cutting the power of those moves down to 25% of their original strength.

Fighting a Steelix can become even trickier if it has the Study ability, which prevents it from getting one-hit KOd whenever it has full HP. This means that if its trainer uses a healing item to restore the Pokemon to full health, Sturdy can activate again.

If youre looking to take on Flints Steelix when challenging the Sinnoh Elite Four, be aware that it knows Thunder Fang, Fire Fang, Crunch, and Iron Tail, so plan accordingly to take advantage of its weaknesses while being aware of your own.

However, after Ash risked his own life for Pikachu, a bond was formed and Pikachu began to trust Ash. The two have been traveling around the world catching and helping Pokémon ever since.

Throughout his and Pikachus many journeys, Ash has collected at least 96 different species of Pokémon. Ash views Pokémons as individuals and not just as tools or weapons to collect.

There have even been Pokémon that have allowed themselves to be captured by Ash all because he had befriended, helped, and believed in them.

Cacturne Is A Grass & Dark Type

Cacturne is the same type as Shiftry, which means that it also shares Shiftrys weaknesses against Fire, Ice, Fighting, Flying, Fairy, Poison, and Bug types. It also has a previous evolution, Cacnea, with only 5 weaknesses.

Cacturne is actually not the type of Pokémon who likes to engage in battle head-on. Usually, it likes to stay in the desert, following its prey at night and attacking after the prey is exhausted from the desert heat.

How Do Types Work

Many Pokémon types are based on elements of the real worldand most of them function the way youd expect. Water-type moves, for example, are super effective against Fire-type Pokémon. If you use a Water-type move against a Fire-type Pokémon, the move will do double damage to the Fire-type Pokémon. But Grass-type moves arent very effective against Fire-type Pokémon. A Grass-type move will do half as much damage to a Fire-type Pokémon.

Some Pokémon have more than one type, like the Rock and Ground-type Geodude. Because both of these types are weak to Water-types, a Water-type move would deal quadruple damage to Geodude. In addition, Pokémon are almost always resistant to their own type, but there are a few exceptions.

You can check out a full list of type advantages and disadvantages in the chart below, posted by Reddit user Tsimmz.

Mixed with its 1.5x Special Defense boost during a sandstorm it can reduce that damage even further.

Tyranitar can also target the weaknesses of Shadow Rider Calyrex, Ho-Oh, and Lugia, making it a great choice against Legendary Pokemon.
