Seeing as catching and transferring multiple Meltan will be your most reliable method of gathering Meltan candies, youre likely wondering whether youll have more than the 30 minutes your first Mystery Box gives you to catch more. That answer is yes.
It has been confirmed that players will be able to earn more Mystery Boxes at regular intervals. Theres an unspecified timer that dictates when youll be able to earn another Mystery Box, and once we know the details of that timer well share them with you. For now, just know that your path to Melmetal should be walkable so long as you have regular access to Pokémon GO and Pokémon Lets Go.

The Mysterious Package is a particular object inside Pokèmon Go that is able to make the pokemon appear on the game map to get such a Package you need to complete an exchange of any kind from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee. The Nintendo accounts associated with the games must be different, so you need to exchange a monster with a friend and not with your copy of the game.

Aside from being able to take your Pokémon from one game to another and the ability to earn a Gigantamax Melmetal for free, you can also get a Mystery Box full of Meltan. Open Up The Mystery Box You Receive In Pokemon Go
You’ll find the Mystery Box inside the item pocket in Pokemon Go, nestled there just waiting to be opened. Once you’ve chosen to open it, it’ll remain open for 30 minutes, spewing out Meltan into the world.
Then, once the box has closed, you’ll have seven days to open it back up again, after which point you’ll need transfer a Pokemon from Go to Let’s Go again to get a new Mystery Box. You can only open the Mystery Box once per day though, so don’t spam it!
How To Catch Meltan In Pokmon: Let’s Go Pikachu Or Pokmon: Let’s Go Eevee
The Pokémon Company is trying something new for the launch of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! in that this marks the first time that you must play a game other than the mainline title to be able to catch a Pokémon.
In the case of Meltan, it’ll involve finding a mystery box to open and trading Pokémon between one of the Pokémon: Let’s Go games and the Pokémon GO mobile game. It sounds complicated, but as long as you have a smartphone or even a friend with a smartphone you’ll get Meltan without issue. Here’s what you need to do:
Now that you have Meltan with you in Pokémon GO, you’ll need to transfer it to your Pokémon: Let’s Go game just as you did with the initial Pokémon you transferred to get the Mystery Box.

So What Do We Do Right Now
If you see Meltan out and about, catch it. It’s a great way for anyone who hasn’t completed the Ditto requirement of the Mew quest to finally get it out the way, and it’s a fine way to find a good Ditto if you haven’t gotten one yet.
Other than that, there’s not much else we can do for now but wait for more information, likely when Pokémon Let’s Go hits stores next month.
What Pokmon Games Can I Use With Pokmon Home
As you can see above, Pokémon HOME is fully compatible with Pokémon Sword and Shield you can transfer your Pokémon to and from the app at will.
You can also transfer Pokémon between Pokémon: Lets Go, Pikachu! and Lets Go, Eevee! via Pokémon HOME, and transfer compatible Pokémon to from those games to Sword and Shield, although only monsters that are part of Pokémon Sword and Shields Galar Pokédex . Additionally, once theyre in Sword or Shield, they cannot then be transferred back to Lets Go, Pikachu or Eevee.
Once transferred to Pokémon HOME, your Pokémon will be listed in the National Pokédex . Remember, Pokémon Sword and Shield has its own Pokédex and is not compatible with every single Pokémon, although with the additional Pokémon from the Expansion Passes, Sword and Shield will support over 600 Pokémon.
It is not currently possible to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME, although the feature is coming. It should be noted that transferred Pokémon cannot be moved back to Pokémon GO once they have been moved to Pokémon HOME.
For previous generation games, all Pokémon must be transferred via Pokémon Bank on 3DS. While it is possible to transfer Gen 1 and Gen 2 Pokémon from the 3DS Virtual Console releases of the original Game Boy games , it is not possible to move Pokémon from original Game Boy cartridges to Pokémon HOME.

How To Get Meltan In Pokmon Let’s Go
The two-way reliance between Pokémon Let’s Go on Switch and Pokémon Go continues here, as the only way you can get a Meltan in Let’s Go is to trade it from Pokémon Go!
There’s no way to catch or acquire a Meltan in Let’s Go on Switch, or for that matter a Melmetal, in Pokémon Let’s Go otherwise. So you need to first get it in Pokémon Go, and then trade it over.
Worth noting as well is the fact that, as far as we know, there’s no way to evolve Meltan into Melmetal once you’ve transferred the Meltan to Let’s Go.
As transferring is one-way – as in, you can’t take any Pokémon from Let’s Go over to Go, only from the mobile Go to the Switch’s Let’s Go – that means you need to evolve a Meltan in Pokémon Go first, then transfer it to Let’s Go, in order to get the big boy Melmetal in Let’s Go, too.
Accepting Meltan In The Switch
Now open the Pokémon Home app in the Switch, Select the Pokémon option, connect to Pokémon Sword, and once connected, move Meltan to the Pokémon Sword box
Now click + on your joycon to save your boxes. You now have Meltan available in Pokémon Sword & Shield
You can also get Meltans evolved form Melmetal as a Mystery Box item in Pokémon Home. It will be a LVL 100 hyper beast in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

The Pokémon Company has unveiled the first original pocket monster for Pokémon Go, Meltan. The curious looking mythical Pokémon has a body made of liquid metal that sort of resembles Ditto, but atop his head is a brass nut. Its definitely a strange looking Pokémon, but were anxious to see the Hex Nut Pokémon in action. Thats right, a Hex Nut Pokémon, which is an entirely new species in the Pokémon universe.
Meltan will be available when Pokémon: Lets Go, Pikachu and Lets Go, Eevee launch on November 16. You need to have Pokemon Go and a copy of Lets Go in order to snag him. Heres the process for acquiring Meltan.
What Is Meltan And The Mystery Box
Meltan is a Mythical Steel type Pokémon that was originally introduced in Pokémon Go. It was the first of its kind as all other Pokémon have been introduced in either the core games or through the Pokémon animation. Meltan has very limited availability and its evolution, Melmetal can still only be evolved in Pokémon Go. Up until recently, there were only two ways Trainers could catch this Mythical Pokémon: Special Research or linking your Pokémon Go account to Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Let’s Go, Eevee!.
Now, players have an additional means of catching Meltan. You can earn a Mystery Box that can open once per week by linking your Pokémon Go and Pokémon HOME accounts. The Mystery Box will act like an Incense but specifically for Meltan, luring dozens of the tiny Hex Nut Pokémon to your location for one hour. It takes time to recharge, but once the timer has run out, you can transfer another Pokémon to HOME and earn yourself another hour of Meltan spawns. If you happen to use your Mystery Box during certain events you can even catch yourself a Shiny Meltan!

Meltan can only be evolved within Pokémon Go and so getting a Melmetal in Sword and Shield requires using Pokémon HOME.
On your first Pokémon transfer, however, you will be rewarded with a previously unavailable Gigantamax Melmetal in Pokémon HOME. In Pokémon Go, youll get a Mystery Box, the item previously available through linking Lets Go, Pikachu! or Lets Go, Eevee! The Mystery Box acts in a similar way as Incense, except it only lures in Meltan. That is a lot of work for a small Pokémon, but Meltan and its evolved form, Melmetal, is the only Mythical Pokémon that can be placed in gyms. Meltan isnt super great at attacking or defending and is more of a Pokédex filler, but Melmetal is a pretty OK defender. It does, however, require 400 candy to evolve, so unless youre planning on walking a lot with a Meltan, you should work on grabbing extra Meltan through other methods.
Pokmon Go Mystery Box Guide
Theres two main aspects to the Mystery Box: charging it and opening it. We break those down below, but before that we wanted to explain just what the Mystery Box is, in case this is your first time using it. In short, opening the Mystery Box acts like a Meltan-only Incense. Once open you will have 60 minutes where Meltan will appear near you about every minute and a half. So by focusing on catching them quickly you can end up with over 15 Meltan and a bunch of Candy. But how do you use it? First, it needs to be charged, or recharged.

How To Evolve Meltan
As before, Pokemon Go is the key to obtaining Melmetal. In order to evolve Meltan, you’ll need to feed it enough Candy in Go, just as you would evolve most other Pokemon in the mobile game. These are acquired each time you catch a Meltan or send one to Professor Willow, but be warned: you’re going to need to capture a lot of Meltans if you’re hoping to get its evolution, as the Mythical Pokemon requires a whopping 400 Candies to evolve.
Given how long it takes to reopen the Mystery Box, amassing enough Candy to evolve Meltan is a daunting prospect. Fortunately, if you’ve stocked up on Rare Candies, you’ll be able to use them to expedite the process. You can also feed Pinap Berries to Meltan during the capture phase, which will increase the number of Candies you receive if you successfully catch it. Once you’ve evolved Meltan, you can transfer your Melmetal to the Let’s Go games and recapture it in the Go Park.
Just as its base form, Melmetal is a pure Steel-type Pokemon. According to the series’ lore, it was worshiped in ancient times because of its ability to create metal. It is also capable of learning a brand-new move called Double Iron Bash, a two-hit Steel-type attack that can make the opposing Pokemon flinch.
