Regional Variants Of Previously Known Pokemon
In the previous Pokemon games, several Pokemon take on new forms such as the Alolan Form seen in Pokemon Sun and Moon, as well as the Galar Form from Pokemon Sword and Shield.
In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Hisuian Pokemon are regional forms of familiar Pokemon that have adapted to the Hisui region. Apart from their change in appearance, all Hisuian regional forms also have different typings and movesets!
Hisuian Zorua And Hisuian Zoroark
The Hisuian Zorua and Hisuian Zoroark are some of the latest additions to Pokémon Legends:Arceus regional forms. The official description of these Pokémon offers, Hisuian Zoroark seems scarybut it also appears to be protective of Hisuian Zorua. This new form of Zorua, of course, is super adorable. It seems that both these new Pokémon are Normal/Ghost types in their regional forms.
Zorua is fox-like Pokémon that can change its physical appearance at will. However, these changes are only illusions because its primary skillsets and powers dont change.
Zorua can act timid in nature, hence its reliance on illusions. It keeps its form secret to stay safe. Sometimes, it will appear as a child in the hopes of finding food. Sometimes, it even replaces children, especially talkative ones. In its child form, it often stays silent. However, if anyone touches its tail, it will revert to its Zorua form. Though shy, this Pokémon tends towards mischief.
These Hisuian Zorua came to the Hisui region after being driven from other lands by humans, who shunned the Pokémon for manifesting uncanny illusions. But these Zorua actually perished, because they could not survive the harsh Hisuian land and conflict with other Pokémon. Their souls were reborn in this Ghost-type form, powered by their malice.
Keep Playing After The Ending
In most Pokemon games, becoming the League Champion is only the first major step for any player seriously interested in the prospect of catching them all. New content will open up, allowing for the capture of further species.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus ups the ante. Not only will the postgame open the door for plenty of new catches, but even the story itself feels distinctly unfinished in a way until you have worked on your Pokedex considerably more and reached the “true ending.” It’s a win-win, so don’t touch that dile. There’s plenty more to play!

Pokmon Legends: Arceus Should You Play It
If youre a fan of Pokémon, then you ought to pick this game up. I often got distracted from the main storyline simply because I was having so much fun discovering, battling, and capturing Pokémon. The Alpha Pokémon especially gave me something to work towards as I strove to fill my party with enormous creatures. I never missed the gyms or standard format of previous Pokémon games. This one stands on its own and provides the modern Pokémon RPG experience weve waited too long to play.
That being said, the vacant world, with hardly any trees and poorly rendered visuals, is a major letdown. This game deserved better graphics than it got, but its still a great game all the same. With any luck, Game Freak will work on another game like this down the line and will improve the visuals and mechanics even further.

Pokemon Legends Arceus Leaks: Hisui Dex New Evolutions Legendary Forms
Well, the cats out of the bag now. With just a week to go until the release of Pokémon Legends Arceus, some players have received access to an early copy of the game. Unsurprisingly, just about everything about the open-world RPG is leaking online. Among the latest leaks is new information about the Hisui Pokedex, including new evolutions, what the Hisuian forms look like for the starters and other chosen mons, and new forms for Legendary Pokémon like Dialga and Palkia.
All information compiled here has been sourced from Twitter user @CentroLeaks. Before releasing images of what the new forms look like, CentroLeaks also divulged more details about the storyline and battle system in PLA. Trainers can fall in the game and sustain damage. Status-reducing moves like Growl are now gone. And, arguably worst of all, players have to manually evolve their Pokémon by viewing them in the satchel. If you thought the changes to gameplay and mechanics were not drastic enough, some of our favorite Pokémon are also getting quite the unique look and altered typing with their Hisuian forms.
Every Hisui Pokdex Entry In Pokmon Legends: Arceus
- Pikachu – Possesses cheek sacs in which it stores electricity. This clever forest-dweller roasts tough berries with an electric shock before consuming them.
- Raichu – It can discharge bursts of electricity exceeding 100,000 volts a single strike with that amount of power would incapacitate one of the Copperajah of my homeland.
- Abra – Spends 18 hours of the day sleeping. Even while asleep, Abra can control its psychic powersshould danger approach, the Pokémon will simply teleport away.
- Kadabra – There are rumors that a child with mystical powers became a Kadabra however, this remains unverified. I suspect that the spoon Kadabra holds enhances its brain waves.
- Alakazam – The longer Alakazam lives, the larger and heavier its head becomes. Our tests have shown that the strength of its psychic powers correlates positively to the weight of its head.
- Chimchar – Full of vigor and always in high spirits. It was once known by the name Lantern-Tail and feared as some kind of apparition.
- Monferno – The deeper the blue on its face, the more powerful it will grow to become. It leaps about every which way and lands powerful blows against its opponents with the flame on its tail.
- Infernape – A tall, hardy Pokémon with a dazzling appearance. It shrouds itself in flame and battles as if engaged in dance -truly a sight to behold.
How Research Ranks And Star Ranks Work
Every research task you complete, and thus the more research ranks you go through, will all earn you points towards your Star Rank. You can see your current amount of research points, current Star Rank, and how many more points you need to get to the next rank on the cover of your Pokédex. Your Star Rank is your main way to track your progress through Pokémon Legends: Arceus, with each rank unlocking new items, access to new areas, and the ability to catch higher-level Pokémon. Once you have enough research points to get a new Star Rank, you need to talk to Captain Cyllene in the Galaxy Hall to officially rank up.
There are 10 total Star Ranks you will progress through in the game, and each one has its own rewards, but also will require more total research points to unlock. Heres a quick breakdown of each Star Rank:
Hisuian Growlithe & Arcanine
Kanto fan-favorite Growlithe also has a Hisuian regional form in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. This adorable Fire/Rock-type is described as a very wary Pokemon thats overly protective of its territory.
Soft fur insulates its body so it can thrive in the chilly region of Hisui, while the horn on its head is made of easily broken rock, so it only uses it to attack enemies when absolutely necessary. Arcanine, sports its own new look, too, featuring dark grey fur that covers most of its body. Luckily, both are relatively easy to obtain, so you wont struggle to add these cute mon to your team.

Who Are Noble Pokmon In Pokmonlegends: Arceus
Arceus Noble Pokémon are Hisuian Pokémon who have been blessed with a mysterious power.A new trailer introduced players to the Hisui region wardens who protect special Pokémon. While some Pokémon assist the people of the region, other Pokémon known as nobles are particularly powerful.
Noble Pokémon appear to be the most special Arceus Pokémon of all. The wardens honor them, keep them safe, and leave them offerings. But in Pokémon Legends: Arceus something has begun to negatively affect even these special Pokémon.
How Is A Pokmons Research Level Calculated In The Pokdex
This can be confusing initially, as there are a lot of numbers and they probably dont add up to the Research Level youre seeing. But heres a really simple way to understand it:
- Research Level is essentially the number of checkmarks you have
- Check marks in rows that are marked with the red box containing two arrows are counted as two points per checkmark
You may be tempted to simply add the numbers that are first displayed in front of each rows progress, but these are not important for calculating the Research Level. They simply track your progress towards each rows goal.

Comparing Pokedex Numbers To Other Generations
With Pokemon Legends: Arceus having a regional Pokedex comprised of 242 Pokemon, the game actually runs pretty similar to that of other generations. The regional Pokemon in the other mainline games run anywhere from 151 to 403 Pokemon. Pokemon Legends: Arceus is nestled right in the middle, if perhaps a little less than average, compared to the other titles.
The Kantonian Pokedex is composed of the iconic original 151 Pokemon, Johto features 251 Pokemon, Hoenn features 202, the “original” Sinnoh Dex features 151 , Unova features 155 , Kalos is the largest at 457 Pokemon, Alola sits at 302 in Sun/Moon and 403 in Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon, and Galar with 400. Galar’s is expanded further with all the Pokemon added in the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra DLCs. So the Hisuian Regional Pokedex is about on par with Johto, and features more than the “original” Sinnoh Dex, Kanto, and the original Unova Dex.
Whats The Benefit Of Increasing A Pokmons Research Level Or Completing All Research Tasks

Pokmon Legends Arceus: Hisui Pokedex Leaks
In total, the Hisui Pokedex contains 242 Pokémon. Arceus comes as the 240th mon, while Darkrai and Shaymin are the final two, since you can only obtain them through having the copies of the past Pokémon releases on the Switch. Below, you can see the new Hisuian forms and evolutions for 28 Pokémon, including three Legendaries. Moreover, the Shiny versions of these mons have also received a makeover.
We already know that Legends Arceus will not introduce new starters, but will be borrowing its starting trio from the past generations and games. Players can choose from Oshawott , Cyndaquil , and Rowlett . But PLA is still bringing a new twist to the starter trio, as Hisuian forms have emerged for their final or stage 2 evolutions.
Hisuian Samurott also looks older than its regular counterpart, as the whiskers look more elongated and exhibit a more flowy style. Moreover, the shell-like head now sports dark colors rather than the typical beige to match its new Water/Dark typing. Meanwhile, Typhlosions model show the Fire-type without the quill-like flames blazing across its back. Although, CentroLeaks later clarified that the flames do appear in-game during the battles.
New Hisuian Forms and Evolutions
New Legendary Forms

Pokemon Legends: Arceus: All New Pokemon And Pokemon Forms Revealed
WhilePokemon Legends: Arceus doesn’t contain a full generation of new Pokemon, the game does add a few new Pokemon and a decent amount of new Pokemon forms. The just-released Pokemon game includes 27 new Pokemon or Pokemon forms, including a handful of new Pokemon and over a dozen new Hisuian regional forms of existing Pokemon species. We’ve compiled a full list of every new Pokemon and new Pokemon form, including how they can be obtained in game. Be warned, as scrolling below obviously contains some pretty significant spoilers.

Hop On Your Mount To Travel Quicker
Early on in your adventures, youll get a mount that will allow you to travel through the lands much quicker than before. Considering how big the regions in Hisui are, its absolutely necessary to have a mount to move around faster. It also means youll be able to get to the locations of rare Pokemon faster and complete your Pokedex more efficiently.
Interestingly enough, you can actually get your own Wyrdeer in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. You can catch a Stantler early on in the Obsidian Fieldlands and evolve it by using the agile style of the move Psyshield Bash 20 times.
Dont Sweat The Pokdex
In a revision of one of Pokémons core elements, the Pokédex becomes far more integral to actual progression. As stated above, expanding your dex provides new ranks, that net better rewards for future entries. In addition, numerous side quests involve Jubilife residents wishing to see a completed entry for a specific Pokémon.
As such, you would think that a tense focus on building out the Pokédex is required while playing, but the genius of the mechanic is that you can actually put it out of your mind. Each Pokémon only requires ten levels in its dex entry for it to be considered complete, which is a small percentage of the total marks each entry can obtain.
Catching Pokémon, defeating them in battle, seeing them use a specific move, or catching a different form, are all examples of ways to level up. Certain tasks in each individual Pokémons dex entry will have a red box with two arrows next to it, and those tasks give you double points for each level obtained. With minimal effort, you can complete a dex entry, while still leaving plenty of things to do to gain additional funds and climb the ranks of the Survey Corps.

Pokmon Legends: Arceus’s Diverse Pokdex
Many of the differences between Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and Pokémon Legends: Arceus‘s Pokédexes give insight into the ancient world of Pokémon. The pocket monsters that originate from regions outside of Sinnoh are featured in Legend: Arceus in their Hisuian variants or with undiscovered evolution lines. This shows that they may have originally come from the Hisui region before venturing off to other areas in the Pokémon world. Whether this confirms these Pokémon originate from Hisui or not is unclear, but to see what other possible secrets the Hisui region contains, here is Legends: Arceus‘s Pokédex:
In all, the Hisuian Pokédex hosts 242 Pokémon from the first 7 generations of the mainline series, meaning Pokémon Legends: Arceus will be long to beat for completionists. None of the original pocket monsters from Pokémon Sword and Shield made it into the game, nor did any of the Galarian regional variants. Very few Pokémon from Alola made it into the game as well, with the only pocket monsters from Pokémon Sun and Moon in Hisui being those in the Decidueye line. This does not detract from Legends: Arceus‘s diversity, though, as the game still enables players to catch around 100 more Pokémon than most main series games before the acquisition of the National Dex.
