One perk of picking up the new Poké Ball Plus along with Pokémon Lets Go Pikachu and Pokémon Lets Go Eevee is getting a free Mew.

Mew is one of the more rare Pokémon in the franchise and is classified as a Mythical Pokémon like the newly announced Meltan. The Psychic-type Pokémon is what the powerful Mewtwo was cloned from, and it has the distinct ability to learn any and all attacks from Technical Machines .

This special Pokémon cannot be caught by normal means in Pokémon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee, but can be transferred from within the Poké Ball Plus to the Nintendo Switch games. However, the Poké Ball Plus is sold separately for a suggested retail price of $49.99 so in addition to a neat peripheral, youll also receive a rare Pokémon.

Getting your very own Mew through the Poké Ball Plus is rather easy but if youre having trouble, heres the steps necessary to transfer it.

First, youll need to pair your Poké Ball Plus with Lets Go. Players simply need to connect the peripheral to the Nintendo Switch dock using the USB cable that comes with the Poké Ball Plus. Have the console docked when you do this to automatically pair your Poké Ball Plus.

Now that the peripheral is paired, boot up Lets Go. When it asks which controller you which to use select the Poké Ball Plus. The game will notify you that you have a Mew within the peripheral.

Pokémon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee is available now for Nintendo Switch.

You can actually capture a shiny Mewtwo if you want, though, it will take immense time and patience. Dont worry if the Mewtwo doesnt appear shiny before you approach it as the game doesnt determine if its shiny or not until you activate the initial cutscene.

So, you can simply save before approaching it and soft reset until you get the shiny Mewtwo. All you have to do for this is save before approaching, watch the initial cutscene, and see if it is shiny or not in battle. If it isnt, all you need to do is head to the home screen on your Switch and close out of Pokemon Lets Go.

Reopen the game, reload your save, and retry again and again until you finally get the chance to capture a shiny Mewtwo. Good luck!

How To Get Shiny Mew In Pokemon Go Kanto Event

Pokemon Go is bringing Shiny Mew to the sport as part of the approaching Kanto event. Heres how you’ll get your hands on one.

Fans had been questioning when Shiny Mew would arrive in Pokemon Go for years now. The persona has one of the best possible choice designs in the game, swapping its conventional red hue for a light blue shine, and it could be an incredible addition to any players collection.

While the usual model of Mew is only available after finishing the A Mythical Discovery special task, Shiny Mew can be much more tricky to catch, with gamers having to complete an overly particular quest to be able to gain one.

As a part of the franchises Twenty fifth-anniversary celebrations taking part in 2021, a different Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto event will take place. All 150 Pokemon that at the beginning gave the impression in the Kanto region will be to be had in Shiny form, and completing a unique quest will bag you a Shiny Mew.

Earning The Platinum Kanto Medal

Shiny MewTwo Trading

The Platinum Kanto Medal is awarded to those trainers who’ve captured all 151 pokemon species native to the Kanto region. That includes the regional exclusives, the three legendary birds, non-shiny Mew, and Mewtwo. You will also be awarded 51 Ultra Balls for completing the Kanto Pokedex. Here are some tips for hunting down these elusive captures.

  • In general, if you are having trouble capturing a certain type of pokemon to complete the Pokedex, you could try placing a type-specific lure on a nearby Pokestop and waiting.
  • Regionals – This endeavor alone requires you to embark on a world tour to catch the Kanto exclusives from each continent, unless you’re lucky enough to have some well-traveled trainer friends who are willing and able to trade. Keep an eye out for further regional events where you might pick up exclusive pokemon you’d otherwise need an international flight to acquire.
  • Mew – An exclusive encounter, Mew is only available after completing ‘A Mythical Discovery,’ the 8-part intro quest to the Special Research mechanic.
  • Mewtwo – The Pokemon Go: Kanto Tour offered limited-time raid battles against Mewtwo and the legendary birds Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno. Unfortunately, the only way to catch Mewtwo currently is by way of a Super Rocket Radar. If you still have one of these devices stored away, you may think about putting it to use for this research. But unless you saved one, the Super Rocket Radar is also currently unavailable.

Pokemon Lets Go: Heres How To Get Mew

Dennis Patrick/Features/Guides, Nintendo, Nintendo Switch, Pokemon, Pokemon: Lets Go Eevee, Pokemon: Lets Go Pikachu/

One of the more popular Pokemon featured within the franchise is Mew and since its debut players have been seeking out how to catch this unique Pokemon in the latest video game titles. As such, some gamers may already be on the hunt to find Mew in Pokemon Lets Go: Pikachu & Eevee but you wont find it in the wild. Instead there is a specific way on how to catch this Pokemon and well list it out down below.

Pokemon Lets Go: Pikachu & Eevee normally allows players to transfer their Pokemon from the Pokemon Go app. However, you wont be able to do that with Mew, instead players will need to purchase the Poke Ball Plus accessory which is used to also catch Pokemon within the game.

Note: There is a Mew inside every Poke Ball Plus but it can only be redeemed once so if you buy a unit pre-owned then the chances of Mew being redeemed is likely.

Note: You will need internet access.

Pokemon Go Kanto Masterwork Research Explained

The first big question is how you unlock the Kanto Masterwork Research in the first place. When the Pokemon Go Tour Kanto event begins, you’ll have the Special Research to complete, which is a shorter, easier job. The reward for this is a shiny Ditto, along with unlocking the Kanto Masterwork Research.

When you complete the Special Research and catch shiny Ditto, you’ve got a slog ahead of you. All the exact tasks haven’t been revealed at the time of writing, but we do know that to complete the Kanto Masterwork Research, you’ll need to do the following:

  • Reach level 40
  • Have a complete Kanto Pokedex
  • Catch 30 Pokemon of each type
  • Spin 151 unique PokeStops
  • Walk 151km

When you achieve all of this and more, you’ll be faced with one of the best rewards in Pokemon Go so far: a shiny Mew! This is the only way to obtain a shiny Mew in the game, so no matter how long it takes you to complete, it’s worth grinding towards.

Give me a game and I will write every “how to” I possibly can or die trying. When I’m not knee-deep in a game to write guides on, you’ll find me hurtling round the track in F1, flinging balls on my phone in Pokemon Go, pretending to know what I’m doing in Football Manager, or clicking on heads in Valorant.

HOW TO GET SHINY MEW IN POKÃMON GO! (Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto Event)
