How To Get Cosmog In The Crown Tundra

How To Get Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo In The Crown Tundra | Pokemon Sword & Shield DLC

To get Cosmog in Pokémon Sword and Shields Crown Tundra DLC, simply talk to the Pokémon and its owner inside a house in Freezington after youve fought either Glastrier or Spectrier.

The house in question can be spotted because a Spheal is stood outside with its elderly trainer. Heading inside, youll find a Cosmog and an old woman speaking to the Cosmog after youve finished the DLCs steed storyline will prompt the woman to give you the Cosmog, who is named Fwoofy.

Your next challenge is evolving this Cosmog into either Solgaleo or Lunala in order to get the most out of this free legendary Pokémon.

Pokmon Sword & Shield: Calyrex Fusion With Glastrier/spectrier

Calyrex, the cover Legendary for The Crown Tundra, is the newest Pokémon to have fusion capabilities. During The Crown Tundra‘s story, the player learns Calyrex was a powerful king in ancient times, and they are then tasked with reuniting Calyrex with his former steed. Eventually, the player creates the Reins of Unity item, which allows Calyrex to fuse with either Glastrier or Spectrier. This is certainly the outlier of all the fusion Pokémon, as it’s less of a true fusion than just one Pokémon riding another, but that doesn’t discount the fact that both of these fusions are powerhouse additions to any team. In addition to having extremely high base stats like all fusions, both Ice Rider and Shadow Rider Calyrex have two abilities, as the fused form maintains the abilities for both base Pokémon. This is a first for the series, and it opens up the door for other intriguing ways Game Freak could build on the fusion system in future games after Pokémon Sword and Shield.

How To Evolve Cosmog

In Sword and Shield Crown Tundra, Cosmog has two evolutions, and first, it evolves into Cosmoem. Cosmoem can then evolve into either Solgaleo or Lunala.

  • Cosmog evolves into Cosmoem when you reach Level 43.
  • Cosmoem evolves into Solgaleo when you reach Level 53.
  • Cosmoem evolves into Lunala when you reach Level 53.

Pokmon Sword & Shield: Necrozma Fusion With Solgaleo/lunala

Generation 7 introduced the Ultra Beasts, and while they might not be universally beloved Pokémon designs, they did introduce the series’ second fusion possibility. Again gaining the capability in the generation’s follow-up games, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Necrozma was able to fuse with either Solgaleo or Lunala. Fusing with Solgaleo transforms Necrozma into its Dusk Mane form and adds Steel to its Psychic typing, while fusing with Lunala turns it into its Dawn Wings form and adds a Ghost typing. The items needed for these fusions are the N-Solarizer and N-Lunarizer.

Transferring Cosmog Solgaleo And Lunala Through Pokmon Home

Pokémon Sword And Shield

Cosmog and its evolutions made their debut in Pokémon Sun & Moon as the “box Legendaries.” This means they were very prevalent in advertising and are given to the player through the story. Simply playing Sun through to nearly the end will get you Solgaleo, and Moon gets you Lunala. After beating the Elite Four, the player can bring their version’s Legendary to their Altar at the opposite time of day . This will open a parallel world where a brand new Cosmog can be caught at the Lake of Sunne or Moone. This holds true for the Ultra versions as well.

Sadly, this second Cosmog will still evolve depending on whichever version you have. So evolving it to its final form will just get you two Solagleo or two Lunala. Leave it as Cosmog, and put it plus Solgaleo/Lunala into Pokémon Bank. Pokémon Bank is a cloud-based Pokémon storage app for the 3DS games. It can send your 3DS-based Pokémon to Pokémon Home, where they can then interact with Sword & Shield.

Two things to note: Pokémon Home requires a paid subscription to do 3DS transfers, and once a Pokémon leaves Bank for Home, it can never go back.

How Cosmog Evolves In Sword & Shield

When Cosmog is taken out of Pokémon Home and put into Galar, it will act mostly the same as it did in Sun/Moon. It can battle, Dynamax, and will evolve into Cosmoem at level 43.

It’s the second evolution where things get different. Cosmoem in Pokémon Sword will always evolve into Solgaleo, whereas Cosmoem in Shield will always become Lunala. So if you have Sun and Shield, or Moon and Sword, you’re in luck. Otherwise it might be time to trade.

Neither Solgaleo or Lunala have Giganatamax forms or Mega Evolutions. They can, however, fuse with Necrozma to take on the Dusk Mane and Dark Wings forms. Sword & Shield support these forms.

Lunala Can Be Played Defensively

If there’s something that Lunala can do strictly better than Solgaleo, it is playing defense. Her Shadow Shield ability, coupled with her access to the Roost move, can make her recover efficiently from most attacks. You can even add in the moves Defog and Toxic to make her even more annoying to deal with, and to remove any field hazards your opponent may use.

This can make Lunala a very hard to remove Pokémon if the enemy trainer doesn’t poison or burn her, or if it doesn’t have access to moves that are super effective against her. This is due to her ability being effectively negated if she’s poisoned or burned, and because she wouldn’t be able to properly recover -or survive- against a move that deals 4x damage.

How To Evolve Cosmog Into Solgaleo Or Lunala In Pokmon Sword And Shield

Cosmog evolves into Solgaleo in Pokémon Sword and Lunala in Pokémon Shield. Depending on the version of the game you own, youll receive a different Pokémon.

Cosmog first evovles into Cosmoem starting at level 43 . Cosmoem then evolves again at level 53 into either Lunala or Solgaleo.

Considering the hoops that players must jump through to get other legendary Pokémon in the Crown Tundra, the journey to get Cosmog is relatively straightforward.

Solgaleo Full Metal Body

How to GET SOLGALEO and LUNALA in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield Crown Tundra! | The Crown Tundra

Solgaleo’s ability, Full Metal Body, allows him to resist most types of stat-reducing abilities. This allows Solgaleo to be able to shrug off common abilities that reduce a Pokemon’s stats, like Intimidate, and secondary stat-reducing effects of common moves like Icy Wind or Play Rough.

You can use Solgaleo’s ability against other Pokémon that are built to reduce stats. Its only downside is that it doesn’t prevent Solgaleo’s stats from being reduced by impairment status, if he’s paralyzed he’ll become slower, and if he’s burned his attack will still be reduced.

Where Can You Find The N

One of the biggest benefits of acquiring Lunala, Solgaleo, and Necrozma is being able to fuse Necrozma with either one of them to form one of the most powerful Pokémon available in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

In order to do this, youll need some special items that cant be acquired until you have the Pokémon that use them. While Ive seen it noted you need to have Lunala, Solgaleo, and Necrozma in your game, in my experience Ive had the items become available with just Lunala and Necrozma.

Youll need to head to Stow-on-Side and talk to the bargain man on the right. Once you have the needed Pokémon in your game, hell give you the items you need.

Once you have them, make sure you have Necrozma and whichever Pokémon you want to fuse with in your party. Use the item, and youll be able to combine them right away.

How To Get Poipole

When it comes to catching Poipole, things get a little more complicated, but it’s still nothing too complex. To begin with, you’ll need to complete the entire main story of the DLC, then all andthree legends.

Once this is done, in Peony’s house you will find the Legend ?, A legend dedicated to Ultra Beasts. Going into the Dynatana Max and delivering this Legend to Peony will trigger a short cinematic, through which Ultra Beasts will be unlocked in the Dynamax adventures.

Once this is done, just capture Necrozma and 5 Ultra Beasts in Dynamax Adventures to appear in Poipole in the Dynatana Max. Then interact with the scientist there who, finally, will entrust it to you.

Poipole is not only unique in the method of obtaining it, but also because it is the only ultracreature with an evolutionary line, transforming itself into Naganadel as soon as he learns Dragopulsar and level up.

However, the Pokémon will not be able to learn the move by itself, so it will be necessary to teach it through the use of DT62 .

Where To Get Cosmog In Pokmon Sword And Shields The Crown Tundra Expansion

Time to finally get it in the bag.

Pokémon Sword and Shields The Crown Tundra expansion is full of Legendary Pokémon you can encounter, battle, and capture during your adventure.

There are actually a handful of rare Pokémon you can get without actually battling at all too as long as you play through the story and talk to the right people.

One such Pokémon is the Nebula Pokémon Cosmog from generation seven. You can still catch its more Legendary final forms, Solgaleo and Lunala by finishing Dynamax Adventures, depending on which game you have.

As soon as you run Spectrier or Glastrier out of Freezington, you can head deeper into the village and enter one of the houses, the one with the older woman and her Spheal outside. Another NPC inside will ask if you would take Cosmog, who is nicknamed Fwoofy, along with you since you helped defend the village.

Cosmog can evolve into either Solgaleo or Lunala, but that process is also version exclusive. It evolves into Cosmoem at level 43, and at level 53, if you have Sword it will become Solgaleo and in Shield, you will get Lunala.

LIVE Shiny Solgaleo + Master Ball Giveaway

In order to acquire Cosmog, youll need to visit one specific house in Freezington. Inside, youll find an old woman who is looking after a Cosmog she has nicknamed Fwoofy. Rest assured, youre not forced to keep that name when you get Cosmog.

She states shes looking for someone worthy, and the way youll prove that worth is by continuing the core story in Crown Tundra. As you go through the story with Calyrex and help it regain its trusted steed, either Glastrier or Spectrier, youll encounter the one you chose.

In the process of that story, youll have to battle the horse you chose to protect Freezington from it. After successfully doing that, go back to the old woman and shell choose to gift you Cosmog, or Fwoofy.

Solgaleo Is A Team Player

While Lunala is able to shine on her own, Solgaleo is often used to support other better-typed offensive Pokémon, as he can defeat common Pokes that can be hard to rid. Since it might be hard to understand how an offensive Pokémon can support others, let’s use an example.

If your main offensive Pokémon just got countered by a Poison Pokémon, then you can switch in a Solgaleo to counter it. You can also switch this strategy, as you can use another Pokémon to support Solgaleo if he were to get countered by a fast Poke that’s strong against him, like Gengar.

Pokmon Sword & Shield: Kyurem Fusion With Reshiram/zekrom

While Kyurem was introduced in the original Pokémon Black and White games, its fusion capabilities weren’t brought about until the sequels. In Black 2 and White 2‘s postgame, the player could catch Kyurem and either Reshiram or Zekrom, then obtain the DNA Splicers item, which granted fusion capabilities. This item was brought back in Sword and Shield‘s DLC and fulfills the same purpose, allowing the player to fuse Kyurem and Reshiram into White Kyurem or Kyurem and Zekrom into Black Kyurem. While both Pokémon possess incredible stats, White Kyurem is especially useful for grinding out Max Raid Battles in Sword and Shield, as it has excellent type coverage and one of the highest base Special Attack values in any game.

HOW TO GET SOLGALEO & LUNALA POKEMON SWORD AND SHIELD! (POKEMON HOME TRANSFER METHOD)

In the new Gamefreak DLC, the snow-covered lands of the Crown, several rare, if not legendary pokémon have been introduced. These are not simply Pokémon that can be captured using traditional methods, but will also ask the player to meet certain conditions or complete any subplots dedicated to them.

Today in particular we will go in search of Cosmog, the Nebula Pokémon and “embryonic” form of Solgaleo or Lunala, and of Poipole, the mysterious creature used by the ultra-patrol!

What Solgaleo And Lunala Do In Battle

Solgaleo’s greatest stat is a tie between HP and Attack. Based on that info, you can probably guess that the lion loves being in the fray. Give it attacks like Earthquake and its signature Sunsteel Strike. It’ll hit with the fury of a lion, and can ignore certain stat-lowering moves and abilities.

Lunala looks like a fearsome alien bat and has a huge moon laser, but it actually shines as a defensive battler. This is due largely to its Ability, Shadow Shield. This makes it so every attack done on a full health Lunala does half damage. Combine that with healing move, Toxic, and some kind of attack-hindering move, and Lunala can be an annoying stall.

How Can You Catch Lunala Solgaleo And Necrozma In Crown Tundra

On top of being able to evolve Cosmog into Lunala and Solgaleo, both of those Legendary Pokémon from Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon can be captured through the new Max Lair adventure in Crown Tundra.

It may take you some time, as there are upwards of 47 different Legendary Pokémon that can be encountered. If youre patient, and perhaps a bit lucky, youll eventually encounter Lunala or Solgaleo.

Technically, Solgaleo is a version-exclusive for Pokémon Sword and Lunala is a version-exclusive for Pokémon Shield, but if you can connect and play with others that wont be an issue.

If you choose to do a Max Lair with other players online, you can end up in Max Lairs that are hosted by players of the other version and thus end with a Legendary Pokémon thats not technically available in your version of the game.

Capturing Necrozma will take a bit more work, and can be a bit trickier. Youll need to have already finished the other Legendary Quests provided by Peony as part of Crown Tundra.

That means youll need to have finished and captured the Regis, caught all three of the Legendary Birds, and caught Calyrex. Fortunately, weve got some guides linked above in this paragraph that will help with each of those.

Once youve done all of that, youll get one final clue that Peony will accidentally drop. Head to the Max Lair to speak to him, and this will unlock Necrozma and all of the Ultra Beasts as findable in Max Lairs.

Pokmon Sword And Shield’s Crown Tundra Dlc Has Brought Back Fwoofy Aka Cosmog Lunala Solgaleo And Necrozma You Can Even Fuse Them

Much like Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon, initially acquiring Cosmog in the Crown Tundra isnt a difficult process and goes hand in hand with the games story. However, before you hope to be entrusted with Fwoofy, youll want to finish the core games story.

Youll need to have beaten all eight gyms and finished out the main story in Pokémon Sword and Shield before trying to get Cosmog. Youre unlikely to be ready for Crown Tundra without doing that, just based on the strengths of what youll be up against.

The first battle you face in Crown Tundra is against an opponent with Pokémon as strong as Level 70, which should be a key indicator for you in knowing when youre ready to travel to and take on the new icy expansion.

Lunala’s Special Attack Stat

Shiny Solgaleo Pokemon Sword and Shield 6IV Legendary ...

Just like any legendary Pokémon, Lunala’s Special Attack makes her deadly against other Pokémon with low Special Defense. She has a base Special Attack of 137, which makes her the 5th Ghost-type Pokémon with the highest Special Attack of the Generation VIII games.

This lets her use a wider range Psychic-type and Ghost-type moves, as there are a lot of Special damage dealing moves among these types. Lunala’s movesets put a lot of importance on this stat, as she has a speed that is decent enough to act quickly and knock out her opponents before they can react.
