How To Evolve Eevee
In 2020, there are more evolutions available but unfortunately, we dont have Sylveon just yet.
Fortunately, there is a workaround to evolving Eevee. All you need to do is change the nickname to get the evolution that you want.
As discovered by people on Reddit, renaming your Eevee Rainer, Sparky or Pyro before its evolved will give you the corresponding evolution. For example, if youre after a Flareon, you should rename your Eevee Pyro, save and restart your game and then evolve it.
This hack is also true of the Pokemon Go Gen 2 update for Espeon and Umbreon. If you have 25 Eevee candies saved up, you need to do the following to incorporate the two new evolutions to your collection: use the name Sakura on your Eevee to evolve it into Espeon, and use the name Tamao to evolve your Eevee into Umbreon.
Its a similar story to Pyro, Sparky and Rainer the names Sakura and Tamao are references to the original anime series Pokemon. Sakura and Tamao feature as two of the five Kimono sisters.
Its not the first time Pokémon Go has included a nod to the original series. If you want to get Pikachu as a starter Pokémon, you have to loosely follow the plot of the first episode of the cartoon Pokémon, I Choose You!.
The corresponding nicknames for the most currently available evolutions are as follows:

How To Get Sylveon In Pokemon Go

Trainers need to make Eevee their buddy and earn 70 hearts with it. Again, this will take a while, but as long as trainers can maximize the amount of hearts earned each day they will eventually get to that mark. Trainers will know they received the right amount of hearts when the silhouette in the evolution area of Eevees in-game information screen shows Sylveon.

Shiny Vaporeon will soon be much easier to obtain in Pokemon Go. This guide will show players how to find and capture this Pokemon. Currently, the game is celebrating the release of Xerneas and Yveltal from Pokemon X and Y. With this, tons of Pokemon from the Kalos region have also made their debuts in the game. One of the most heavily anticipated Pokemon to ever reach the game will release soon with Sylveon. How To Get And Use The Glacial Lure & Mossy Lure To Get Glaceon And Leafeon
The final current Eeveelutions available in Pokemon Go are Glaceon and Leafeon, and this duo has the most specific evolution method yet.
First of all, dont forget that you can do the name trick once again to get Glaceon and Leafeon for the first time. As detailed above, name your Eevee Rea to have it evolve to Glaceon, and name your Eevee Linnea to have it evolve to Leafeon. After that, however, youll need to fulfil special requirements to evolve more of these Pokemon.
Specifically, in order to evolve more Eevee into Glaceon or Leafeon, youll need some new items: the Glacial Lure and the Mossy Lure. These two new types of Lure Module are available in the shop and will soon be appearing as Field Research Rewards. These lures exist to make you more able to catch different Pokemon the Glacial lures in Water and Ice type Pokemon, while the Mossy attracts Bug and Grass types.
Theres an added benefit to these, however: when theyre placed, they can impact Eevee Evolution. Simply place one of the lures in a Pokestop if you place the Mossy Lure youll be able to evolve any Eevee you have into Leafeon while standing in that Pokestops radius . If you place the Glacial Lure on a Pokestop, thats when youll be able to evolve into Glaceon just remain within the Pokestops radius. This works even if you didnt place the lure, too, so you can share this chance with other players.

Its worth noting that each Eevee evolution has a different base stats, which makes it quite challenging to decide which is the strongest Eevee evolution Pokémon GO. However, heres detailed information about each character thatll help you choose the right Pokémon for a specific event.
Espeon is a psychic-type Pokeom with a maximum CP of 3170. Confusion and Psychic are its best move sets for all battles, especially if youre attacking Pokémon in the Gyms. This moveset will also help you during PvP battles. Espeon is vulnerable to Bug, Dark, and Ghost moves.
Flareon is a fire-type Pokémon that can achieve a maximum CP of 2029. A second method of evolving Eevee into Umbreon and Espeon exists, and it’s surprisingly easy. Simply make Eevee your buddy Pokémon and walk 10km. You can then evolve your Eevee at night to unlock Umbreon, or during the day for Espeon. You can easily tell if it’s day or night by looking at the colour of your map or listening to the game’s music, but ensure that you have good signal before evolving – the game needs to know the time of day in your exact location and if your signal drops at the wrong moment, you’ll get a Vaporeon, Jolteon or Flareon no matter how far you’ve walked.

Umbreon Pokemon Go Flower Crown Eevee Guide
Umbreon is a Dark-type Pokemon, and therefore very helpful against powerful Psychic-type Pokemon like Mewtwo and Deoxys. Both of which feature in the Ultra Bonus event. Even so, Umbreon is far more bulk than brawn. Its a great gym defender or Great League brick, but Pokemon like Sharpedo, Tyranitar, Houndoom, and Honchcrow are better Dark-type attacker options to strive for.
Umbreon Counters:
If youre looking to chip in with Psychic-type raids like Mewtwo, Deoxys, or the Emotion trio, Umbreon can at least prolong your teams survival. It could even become an asset against Alolan Raichu. Just dont expect it to melt away HP in the same way Tyranitar or Gyarados do in similar situations!

Name Trick Method For Evolving Eevee Into Espeon
One of the two ways that Pokemon GO trainers can turn their Eevee into an Espeon is by using a naming trick that was discovered quite some time ago. By changing Eevees name to Sakura, itll automatically turn into Espeon once it has been fed 25 Eevee Candies.

To change the name of a Pokemon, players will want to go into the Pokemons profile and then hit the pencil icon by its current name. This will allow for the changing of a Pokemons nickname. Its worth noting that this trick will only work one time per evolution type, meaning that players will not be able to get multiple Espeons from this exploit. Make sure to pick the perfect Eevee with the best stats before the decision is made.
Once the nickname has been changed, players will need to select the Evolve option in the Pokemons data screen. Pokemon GO will then make the player confirm the evolution, and then the Espeon will be there to greet them. Of course, trainers can always change the nickname to something else or just name it Espeon, depending on how they play. Changing Sakura to anything else will not cancel out the evolution or somehow revert the Espeon back into an Eevee.

Alternate Eevee Evolution Methods For Leafeon Glaceon Umbreon And Espeon
Gen 4’s Leafeon and Glaceon have a second Eevee evolution method, by using the Mossy Lure or Glacial Lure respectively. When you’re in range of that PokéStop with the Lure enabled, go to your Eevee and choose the Evolution.
Meanwhile, Gen 2’s Umbreon and Espeon also have a second Eevee evolution method. Walk your Eevee as a Buddy for 10km, then evolve it either during the night or day and it’ll turn into the desired evolution.
Note you specifically need to walk 10k and earn two Candies in the process, then keep Eevee as your Buddy when evolving, and be either day or night during the game itself for it to work .
Since the naming trick only works once per evolution type, this appears to be a useful way to get a second Espeon or Umbreon with some reliability.
How To Evolve Eevee Using Nicknames
A neat trick allows you to force a specific evolution when using the candy evolution method, and all you need to do is rename your Eevee to a particular nickname.
Simply rename your Eevee with the nickname below that corresponds with your desired evolution and voila, youll have your eeveelution of choice once you feed it 25 candy:

Once thats done, you can evolve your Eevee, but the time of day shown in-game will determine which of the evolutions you get. Evolve Eevee during the day and youll get the Psychic-type Espeon. At night, on the other hand, youll get the Dark-type Umbreon.
This trick can be somewhat finicky, so do make sure that Eevee is still your buddy when you evolve it and ensure that you have GPS signal so that the game has the time of day absolutely right where you are. Fortunately, this isnt limited like the nicknames so you can do it as often as you like .

To get Eevee’s Generation 2 evolutions, after you use their respective nicknames, you will have to:

Of course it can! Evolving Flower Crown Eevee will result in an Eeveelution with the Flower Crown, making Pokemon GO Flower Crown Eevee evolutions a very real possibility.

Why Sakura, Tamao, Sparky, Rainer and Pyro? The original three are the names of the Eevee brothers from drawing animated Pokémon, who meet Ash and the gang in Episode 40 to show off their respective Eevee evolutions.
Espeon and Umbreon also derive their nicknames from the Pokémon anime, but their characters are humans and not Pokémon. In Trouble’s Brewing – Pokémon Episode 26: Johto League Champions – Ash and the gang meet the five Kimono sisters from the town of Cruteak. How To Evolve Eevee Without The Name Trick
Unfortunately Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon all evolve randomly from Eevee. However, Umbreon, Espeon, Glaceon, and Leafeon have alternative methods.
Umbreon and Espeon both evolve after walking with the Eevee as your buddy Pokémon for 10 kilometers. Once thats done, the buddy Eevee evolved during the night will yield Umbreon while the day will yield Espeon. Note that when you evolve Eevee, it still needs to be your buddy Pokémon for this trick to work.
Leafeon and Glaceon can both be reliably evolved from spinning a Mossy Lure or a Glacial Lure, respectively. After spinning a Pokéstop with these Lure Modules active, the next Eevee you will evolve will become its leaf or ice form. Note that you need to be in range of the Lure Module. You will see the chosen Eevee evolution icon change once youve spun one of these lured Pokéstops.
Sylveonwill evolve after being set as your buddy Pokémon and earning 70 hearts with it. This will take several days of play, but you can speed up the process by using Poffins.
