How Old Is Jessie From Pokemon

Age Is But Several Numbers

Misty and Meowth Roasts Jessie

Jessie’s age is a bit of a Poke-mystery. In Pokémon: The Power of One, she and James are claimed to be 25-years-old, but when it comes to the series which has had many soft reboots over the years finer details like age have become very inconsistent, evidenced by a main protagonist who doesn’t seem to have aged a day in over a decade.

In one episode, “The Ultimate Test,” Jessie writes down her age as 17 on a form. But, in “Plant It Now… Diglett Later,” she tells an elderly woman that she’s “ten times” her age. As the woman is 120-years-old, that would make Jessie just 12. Seeing as she received record-low scores at the Pokémon Tech School, we probably can’t rely on her math skills, though.

Diana Perez ‘pokemon’ Voice Actress Dead At 51

Voice actress Diana Perez has passed away, leaving Pokemon fans everywhere in mourning. Her death was confirmed by two other stars of the franchise on Twitter Eduardo Garza and Sarah Natochenny. So far, the circumstances of her death have not been made public.

Perez has provided the voice of Team Rocket’s Jessie in the Spanish-language dub of the Pokemon anime since 1997. On Wednesday, Garza tweeted about her passing in Spanish. His tweet roughly translates to: “Rest in peace, Diana Perez, a woman of strength, cultures, intelligence, and much talent. You’re okay now, friend. Nothing hurts anymore. Have a good trip.” Natochenny provides the English-language voice of Ash Ketchum, and she tweeted: “RIP Diana Pérez, the Mexican voice actor behind Team Rocket’s Jessie on the Spanish dub of Pokémon, since the very beginning. Sending all my love to her family, friends, and fans.”

Send you love

Meg

Perez was one of the most well-known voice actors in the world of Spanish-language anime dubs today. She provided the voice of Luffy in One Piece, Kagura in Inuyasha Mitzy Nohara in Shin-chan, among others. She also worked in the video game industry, providing voices like that of Kaguya tsutsuki in Naruto Shippden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 and Julia Anderson in Kinect Rush: A Disney Pixar Adventure.

Do They Own Their Own Pokmon Some Team Rocket Staff Do Have Their Own Creatures

Team Rocket has some very controversial views on Pokémon and it wouldnt be surprising if they kept a distant relationship with the creatures where theyre seen more as tools of destruction than companions. The Pokémon anime does detail that Team Rocket staff have individual Pokémon, like Giovannis Persian or Jessies Wobbuffet.

However, the organization slowly moves to a Rocket Prize Master model where they acquire their Pokémon through this machine, which is more for individual use. This leads to a slightly less personal connection between Team Rocket and their Pokémon, but it allows for a much wider diversity of creatures.

Jessie Trained To Be Japanese Idol

Jessie used to train as a theater performer. In the English dub, Jessie and several other girls trained as performers. However, given how the audition is structured, its likely that Jessie, who was around the same age as Ash, tried to train as an idol.

Japanese idols start out young and train extensively for hours when they’re not in school. The famous idol group AKB48 began performing personal theater when they were in elementary school. However, there is usually one major rule for idols: they cannot fall in love or have a significant other. In Pokémon, Jessie made a similar vow, but things turned sour quickly.

In this episode, Jessie had a school crush on Astin and was given a difficult choice: follow Astin and forget the audition or pursue her career as an idol. Jessie, of course, chose to follow her career as an idol, but she failed the audition and thus lost both her lover and her dream. Had shed passed, things would have been very different for her.

Despite Their Failure Giovanni Still Keeps The Rocket Trio

After failing to capture Pikachu so many times, you would expect Giovanni to fire Jessie and James. The reason why he didn’t get rid of the trio might have to do with their backgrounds.

Jessie is the daughter of Miyamoto, Giovannis most trusted agent. So its no surprise that Giovanni would still keep Jessie around. James is the sole heir of a vast fortune– his parents live in the upper echelons of Pokémon Society. Keeping James around is the perfect leverage he needs when he’s low on resources.

Lastly, while Meowth doesnt have any strong ties to Team Rocket or any kind of fortune, he is the only Pokémon that can talk– no one would ever dare release a talking Pokémon out into the wild.

On top of that, the trio have occasionally done their job, which is evident in The Best Wishes series. In the series, they are able to complete one of Giovanni’s missions and become true villains they were always meant to be.

That Time They Finally Won

Every time we think Jessie and James have a real plan to capture Pikachu, that they might finally have a chance to achieve their ultimate goal, something happens. Either as a result of some plot twist, Ash’s superior Pokémon battle skills, or their own incompetence, they fail every time. That is, until one fateful episode of Pokémon Sun and Moon.

Long story short, a Mareanie falls in love with James because it turns his face purple. When they get caught up in attacking Ash and Pikachu, the Mareanie’s feelings towards James causes it to fight as hard as hard as it can. That, along with a Mimikyu that really hates Pikachu, allows Team Rocket to finally win a battle against Ash fair and square. Ash’s surprise is understandable, but the looks of shock on Team Rocket’s faces is priceless.

Of course, a Bewear shows up and whisks away the villains before they can take Pikachu, so no harm no foul?

Failed Pokmon Tech School

Pokémon Tech School is a place for Pokémon trainers to study, train, and battle their Pokémon in preparation for taking on the Pokémon League without having go to on a journey and collect badges like Ash.

Makes sense that not all kids can go out camping for years.

James went and failed with miserable grades and met Jessie, who also failed. Whats confusing is that if he ran away while still so young, he could have easily gone on a Pokémon journey of his own without the school. Why didnt he?

The Electric Tale Of Pikachu

Jessie appears in The Electric Tale of Pikachu along with her teammates James and Meowth.

Her first appearance is in Pikachu’s Excellent Adventure. She, James and Meowth tag along with a group of lost Pokémon, including Pikachu, to try to find the Hidden Village. When they arrive, she and James attempt to steal the Pokémon living in the village, but they are quickly expelled by a Kangaskhan. In this chapter, she uses an Ekans in battle.

Jessie’s next appearance is in You Gotta Have Friends. She and James attempt to steal a herd of wild Pikachu. At this point in the manga, Jessie’s Ekans has evolved into Arbok, though its evolution is not depicted in the manga.

Following this, Jessie and James begin regularly appearing in the manga, following Ash to the Pokémon League championship at Indigo Plateau and cheering him on at the Orange League. Jessie, along with James, seems to maintain a friendship or at least acquaintance with Ash, as he has the Team Rocket trio deliver a letter to his mother as they are passing Pallet Town in Epilogue: Wild Type. In this epilogue chapter, she is shown as slightly older with a shorter hairdo.

While in the anime, the nature of Jessie’s relationship with James is not explicitly stated, in the epilogue of the manga, James is shown confessing his love to Jessie. They are shown afterwards married with Jessie visibly pregnant.

Are They Violent Towards Pokmon Yes And They’ve Actually Killed Pokmon

There are plenty of villains in Pokémon, but theres certainly a sliding scale of how far these individuals will go, especially when it comes to the actual harm thats done to Pokémon. Pokémon works hard to skirt around concepts like death with its premise that Pokémon faint in battle, but there are a few occasions where references to Pokémon death are made.

Perhaps the most chilling and memorable example of this involves the dead Marowak thats present in Pokémon Tower, which is revealed to be the work of Team Rocket and makes a morbid connection to Cubones Pokémon Pokédex entry.

Jessie Being More Important

I noticed that Jessie has been way more recognized than James in many types of media. The Team Rocket Trio Exhibits The Following Tropes:

How Old Are Team Rocket Jessie and James ACTUALLY?
  • Back-to-Back Badasses: Their usual pose when reciting their motto.
  • Bad Guys Do the Dirty Work: In “Wobbu-palooza”, when some hooligans gate crash a festival, the heroes are obligated not to fight them due to the town’s Actual Pacifist laws. Team Rocket on the other hand, have no such qualms and send them packing.
  • Balloon Belly: Team Rocket falls on hard times quite often, and usually lament over not having enough money to afford a decent meal. You can be sure that when they get the chance to stuff themselves full, THEY REALLY STUFF THEMSELVES FULL!
  • Beauty Is Bad: The late series creator Takeshi Shudo once wrote on his blog about how pretty-looking antagonists often appear in his productions. In contrast to the grotesque Terrible Trio from Time Bokan, Shudo intentionally made the Rocket character designs beautiful and their personalities charming, calling Musashi and Kojiro in particular a “sort of Bonnie and Clyde“. However, they’re fairly sympathetic and occasionally even outright nice individuals, and not really rotten at the core, so this is a Zig Zagged Trope.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: The trio frequently show charity or a refusal to cheat or attack the rare few individuals that show pity and kindness towards them . Perhaps one of the most notable from all three was to a Blissey nurse who gave them its Pokémon Center’s berries. Realising it took the blame for their disappearance, they staged having mugged it for the berries to clear its name.

Jessie Believes In Love At First Sight

Jessie may have a fiery temper, but when it comes to romance, she is a strong believer in love at first sight. This is mainly due to Astin. As mentioned previously, Jessie harbored deep feelings for Astin when they were kids, and since then, her regret for turning him down became a newfound motivation for her.

Since then, shes been searching for her one true love. This is evident in the anime– when she gets separated from James and Meowth in “A Fork in the Road”, she meets Dr. White and instantly falls for him.

She later decides to stay with him and wholeheartedly believes that that she has a future with him. Unfortunately, Whites heart lies with his childhood friend, Beatrice. Jessie sees this when White confesses to his lover. Jessie is initially crushed, but picks herself up and sends the happy couple a bouquet of flowers.
