How To Get Upgrades And Sinnoh Stone
Upgrades and Sinnoh Stones have been in Pokémon GO for a while. Hopefully youve collected a large pile of them for use during Porygon Community Day. If not, dont worry too much. Before and after the event you can get more Upgrades and Sinnoh Stone by accomplishing special research, including your weekly research reward. These will often give you upgrade items, which will randomly be Upgrades or Sinnoh Stone on occasion. However, during the event there will be many more chances to get them.
During Porygon Community Day there will be special timed research that rewards both Upgrades and Sinnoh Stone. Throughout the event you should be able to get a total of three Upgrades and three Sinnoh Stone by completing this timed research, which should be a pretty simple task. After that youre likely stuck with what you have in your inventory for a while. Just watch for future chances to get more if you have more to evolve and wait for an event if you want Tri-Attack for your Porygon-Z.
So thats how to evolve Porygon and how to get Upgrades and Sinnoh Stone in Pokémon GO.

So, you can hop on your bike and keep the app open to not only get some exercise, but hatch some sweet Snorlax bros, as well. You also gain more incubators and other rarer items as you level up. How To Get The Upgrade Item In Pokmon Go
Evolution items are a somewhat rare commodity in Pokémon Go, and Upgrades are no exception. There are a couple methods to getting them, all of which are similar to the methods of obtaining any other evolution item. Still, all the methods scarcely provide Upgrade items, or are rare methods themselves. This means that you shouldn’t expect to find an Upgrade item instantly it’ll likely be quite a grind.
Who Can Evolve With The Up
In Pokemon GO, there is only one Pokemon that can use an Up-Grade to evolve: the Normal-type Pokemon Porygon. Porygon, famous for being the star of one of the Pokemon anime’s banned episodes, is somewhat difficult to find in Pokemon GO, so players will have to walk around until they happen upon one, or hatch one from an egg.
Catching Porygon is only half the battle. In the main series of Pokemon games, players have to obtain a Porygon, have it hold the Up-Grade item, and then trade it with another player to make it evolve into Porygon2. Evolving Porygon into Porygon2 is simpler in Pokemon GO, but it still requires players to do more than just collect the Up-Grade.
Besides getting the Up-Grade from a PokeStop, players also have to make sure they have 50 Porygon candies to evolve Porygon into Porygon2. Of course, since Porygon is a somewhat rare Pokemon as it is, collecting enough candy to evolve it is easier said than done.
One method of earning Porygon candy is by catching duplicate Porygon in the wild, and another is hatching more Porygon from eggs, which will give players the most candy. While players will get the most Porygon candy by hatching them from eggs, the only way to guarantee Porygon candy is by assigning Porygon to be a buddy Pokemon and walking around with it.

What You Should Know About Powering Up In Pokmon Go
There are several important points worth bearing in mind for when you’re looking to Power Up your Pokémon:
- Powering Up a Pokémon raises its CP – but a Pokémon’s CP only indicates its strength right now, and doesn’t take into account a Pokémon’s potential. It might just have a higher CP because it’s a higher Level.
- So, it’s the Pokémon with the highest potential CP that you want to spend your resources Powering Up, not necessarily the one that has the highest CP right now.
- A Pokémon’s potential is indicated by its IVs – hidden stats, given at random to each individual Pokémon you catch. You can check them using an IV calculator such as this.
- The white bar above your Pokémon indicates how close it is to its maximum Level. Powering Up pushes the white bar along its arc by raising your Pokémon’s Level – which caps out at 1.5 Levels above your own current Trainer Level, with the cap increasing as you Level up.
- With the Stardust and Candy costs increasing significantly for higher-Level Pokémon, you’ll soon find it’s awfully expensive to Power Up a Pokémon to its maximum strength from a very low CP.
- As of April 2020, it’s possible to power up Pokémon levels in bulk instead of incrementally. This is a huge time saver, but it also means a lot of Stardust and Candy will disappear from your inventory in one go, so make sure you are certain about the Pokémon you want to invest in!

With regards to Up-Grade specifically, Pokemon GO trainers will need to have reached trainer level 10 before having access to it. Spinning the photo disc before reaching this milestone will provide no chance for Up-Grade to drop from spinning a Pokestop.
This is purported to apply to trainer gifts as well. If players can keep up their streak of spinning Pokestops every day, they can obtain a guaranteed evolution item after reaching a seven-day spin streak. There’s no guarantee that the item will be an Up-Grade, but it’s certainly worth shooting for trainers who are aiming to evolve their Porygon.

Pokemon Go Players Can Get The Upgrade Item By Completing The Current Ultra Unlock Timed Research Tasks
The good news for Pokemon GO trainers that are desperate to get an Upgrade is that the item is currently a reward for completing one of the Ultra Unlock Timed Research tasks.
Not surprisingly, the task that needs to be completed in order to receive the Upgrade item is to catch seven Porygon. There’s really no need for players to be daunted by this task, because during the special Ultra Unlock event, Porygon will be spawning more frequently in the wild.
From July 23rd till August 6th, Porygon will pop up more often on players’ screens. However, the Timed Research task needs to be completed by August 3rd at 8:00 p.m. local time in order to receive the Upgrade item.
The only other way, apart from completing this limited time task, to get an Upgrade in Pokemon GO is to luck out and obtain it from spinning a Gym or Pokestop. This method is not very reliable, as the odds of receiving an evolution item like the Upgrade is around 1%.
Once a Pokemon GO player gets an Upgrade item, they will just need fifty Porygon species candy to evolve the Pocket Monster into Porygon2. Trainers’ best bet is to complete the Ultra Unlock Timed Research task that rewards them with an Upgrade before the task expires on August 3rd.
Trainers, were excited to announce that Eevee will be featured during a special two-day #PokemonGOCommunityDay event in August!
