The Electric Tale Of Pikachu

The focus of the chapter To Evolve or Not to Evolve, That Is the Question! was Evolution stones. Misty hoped to buy a Water Stone for her Poliwhirl in Stone Town, a town on Dream Island where all the Evolution stones in the Pokémon world come from. However, she couldnt afford one, remarking that an inexpensive one might make the evolution go bad.

Misty was later given a Water Stone by Mikey, who was being pressured to join the Knights of the E Stone, a club which requires members to own a Pokémon evolved by an Evolution stone.

How To Use Evolution Stones

After youve identified and acquired the stone needed to evolve your Pokémon, the last step is to trigger the Pokémons evolution. To do so, simply locate the evolution stone in your bag and select Use to use it on a Pokémon. Note: selecting Give will cause the Pokémon to hold the item and not evolve.

While youre free to evolve a Pokémon using an elemental stone at any time, its typically best if you wait for it to level up and learn certain moves before doing so. Evolve your Pokémon too early and youll risk missing out on some useful moves they could have learned.

Pokmon Sword And Shield: Where To Find Thunder Stones

Raichu is better than Pikachu.

If you want to evolve your Pikachu into a Raichu or your Eevee into a Jolteon in Pokémon Sword and Shield, youre going to have to track down some Thunder Stones. These have been a part of Pokémon games since Gen I, but where can they be found in Gen VIII?

The Wild Area is your best bet to find some Thunder Stones with there being three different opportunities to pick one up with one of the methods regularly giving you new ones, though you will need to have made some story progress.

The first Pokémon Sword and Shield Thunder Stone you can find will be available almost immediately after entering your first Wild Area.

Heres the location for the most immediately accessible Thunder Stone in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Head northeast until you see a small hill, then walk along its ridge until you see the Thunder Stone as an item just sitting there.

The other method needs you to have had made significant story progress before you can even access it. Right in the northwest point of the Wild Area, theres a small island featuring loads of rocks in a formation, the games likely nod to Stonehenge.

Behind each of these rocks, you can find a different evolution stone, one of them being a Thunder Stone.

The good thing about these evolution stones is that they will sporadically regenerate, so you have plenty of opportunities to farm up some evolved Electric-type Pokémon.

Evolving Eevee With Evolution Stones

Where to Find Water Stone – Pokemon Sword & Shield (All Methods)

As with previous Pokémon games, Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon can be obtained by using evolution stones on Eevee. Because Sword and Shield dont have an Ice Rock or Moss Rock, Glaceon and Leafeon can also be obtained using this method of evolution. The stones needed to evolve Eevee into these five Eeveelutions can be found on the ground in various locations throughout the region.

The stones needed to evolve Eevee into these Pokémon, and where to find the stones, are as follows.

  • Generation Introduced: Black and White
  • Base Stats: Strongest in Attack, Special Attack, and Speed. Weakest in Defense and Special Defense.
  • Interesting Fact: It shares its category with Fletchinder as the Ember Pokemon.

Pansear, along with its other types, are not available in Sword and Shield. They are among the collection of Pokemon that were cut from the Pokedex and did not make a return in any of the DLC expansions. Most fans have theorized that these monkeys didnt make the cut because they were not popular. While some players may have a Pansear in their Pokemon Home, they will have to wait for future games to transfer it and its monkey counterparts. On the bright side, that is one less Fire Stone to worry about.

Where To Find Eevee

Players can get a hold of their own Eevee fairly early in the main game of Sword and Shield. Eevee appears as an overworld encounter, meaning it can be seen running around in the golden grass on Route 4 right before Turffield. Eevee is a bit rare to encounter, but if players keep running around the various three patches of grass, they will encounter one eventually.

Obviously, the next step is to catch an Eevee, which is not a very difficult task, even for players that skipped the catching tutorial. Considering this is before the first gym and the Eevees in question are only around level 15, any Pokeball should do just find.

How To Catch A Growlithe And Arcanine

Pokemon Sword & Shield Water Stone Location

In Sword and Shield, Growlithe can actually be found in many locations. These places include the Rolling Fields, Dappled Grove, Watchtower Ruins, East Lake Axewell, West Lake Axewell, Axews Eye, South Lake Miloch, Giants Seat, North Lake Miloch, Route 3, the Dusty Bowl, and Hammerlocke Hills. Nearly all locations require for the weather to have Intense Sun. For the highest spawn rate, players should look for Growlithe at the Rolling Fields during Intense Sun. To get them at their highest wild level , the Dusty Bowl during intense sun is the place to look.

While Arcanine is obtainable in both games, actually catching one is Shield Exclusive. One can sometimes spawn at the Lake of Outrage during Intense Sun. For Sword players, they will need to evolve one from a Growlithe.

Sylveon Teach Eevee a Fairy-type move and then raise its friendship level by playing with it and feeding it. Once friendship is high enough, itll evolve.

How To Evolve Eevee Into Glaceon

Glaceon is an Ice-type Eevee evolution first introduced in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.

Like Leafeon, Glaceons evolution method was also changed in Pokemon Sword and Shield. You no longer have to bring it to a location with an Ice Rock. Instead, give it an Ice Stone to make it evolve.

Yes you can also obtain an Ice Stone from the set of rocks on the hill in the Lake of Outrage region in the Wild Area, or, as a reward from the Digging Duo.
