Nintendo 3ds Shutdown Date
Nintendo recently made the disappointing announcement that it would be ending support for the Nintendo 3DS eShop. On May 23, Nintendo 3DS users will no longer be able to add credit cards to their systems to make purchases from the 3DS eShop, and then August 29, 2022 will bring with it the inability to add funds at all. Then in late March 2023, the Nintendo 3DS eShop will be discontinued entirely, trapping a number of high-profile and popular games on the system.
This includes the Pokemon X and Y games. While it’s true that fans could get physical copies, they will likely be paying a lot of money for them. Pokemon games tend to hold their value or even go up in price as the years go by. Right now, buying Pokemon X or Pokemon Y complete in box will cost players upwards of $50 on eBay, with just the cartridge retailing for around $30. Once the 3DS eShop closes, it’s highly likely these prices will increase, and it’s also highly likely that more counterfeit Pokemon X and Y cartridges will be introduced to the used games market, as that tends to happen with classic Pokemon games.
Nintendo likes to ensure that new Pokemon games are released on a regular basis, and it seems like it would be cost-effective for it to move forward with a Pokemon Z, as a lot of the work has already been done in the Pokemon X and Y games. While Nintendo is focused on releasing Pokemon Scarlet and Violet later this year, maybe a potential Pokemon Z could be the 2023 or even 2024 game.
Pokmon Red And Green Japan
This version of the game was the very first installment of the series and its still a favorite for many expert gamers. This certainly is another reason to include it on top of our list.

She Impersonated Ash Once
Serena is probably closer to Ash than any of his other female companions. It might explain how she could pretend to be him so easily.
In the episode “Battling at Full Volume,” a guitarist named Jimmy challenges Ash to a Pikachu on Pikachu battle. Ash agrees, but catches a cold before the fight. Serena steps in, disguising herself as Ash, and with Pikachu’s help, they beat Jimmy.
Her deception would have worked completely if Team Rocket hadn’t seen through her disguise. Leave it to the only people who’ve known Ash longer than Serena has to not to be fooled.

When Shiny Pokmon Were First Introduced
Shiny Pokémon entered the series much earlier than some may expect, and the chance to hunt them could be thanks to a Red Gyarados in the Lake of Rage.
While there are many things to enjoy about the Pokémon series, Shiny hunting is one of the more popular ways to spend time exploring a game’s region. Shiny hunting has undergone many changes since it was first added into the series, with more recent titles like X and Y and Sword and Shield purposefully integrating mechanics that allow players to hunt these differently colored Pokémon more easily. However, some fans may be surprised to learn just how long Shiny Pokémon have been a part of the series.
The first Shiny Pokémon encounters were found the Generation 2’s Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Platinum. Finding a Shiny Pokémon in the Johto region wasn’t easy, as there weren’t specific methods to help players encounter them in the wild. Generation 2 relied on random wild encounters, with 1/8192 as the potential odds for finding a Shiny. Players would have to run in the grass, caves, or other areas where they could find wild Pokémon and repeatedly engage in random encounters, with no way to increase the odds of an finding being shiny.

A Remake Will Probably Come First
Along with there being three years in-between releases, another pattern that fans have noticed is that The Pokemon Company tends to release remakes of older games before releases of new generations. Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen released before generation four, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver released before generation five, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire before generation seven, and then Pokemon Let’s Go! Pikachu and Eevee before generation eight.

This pattern leads to the belief that the most likely Pokemon release that fans should expect in 2021 is not Gen 9, but probably a remake of Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl. A generation four remake has been long-rumored and requested by many fans, and the generation is actually celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, which makes it all the more likely. Many fans might prefer a new generation to the remakes, but it just doesn’t seem like quite the right time yet.
Pokmon Go Gen 6 Pokmon List
Like the previous Pokémon generations, such as Gen 5, most evolutions will simply require you to collect a specific amount of Candy.
We can, however, expect to see a Gen 6 version of the Unova and Sinnoh Stone as, like Gen 4 and 5, this generation has a number of Pokémon that will only evolve if they are traded while holding a specific item.
A number of Pokémon may also be affected by the trading mechanic, which will make them easier to evolve once they’ve been traded with another player.

Three Years Later Main Timeline
Games: Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum
Red the Champion of Kanto withdraws from his place atop the Elite Four and retreats to Mt. Silver. A volcano erupts on Cinnabar Island. A disbanded Team Rocket attempts to rise up once more. These are, of course, the events that lead into Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal.
Gold and Silver directly reference Team Rockets attempts to bring back their leader Giovanni, who went missing three years prior, confirming the time gap between generations. Continuity. Again, the remakes HeartGold and SoulSilver can be seen as replacing the original versions of the game as they include extra content.

Nintendo Is Planning To Release Z On Their New Handheld
The Nintendo NX is coming out next March, and rumors indicate that a new handheld, codenamed MH, is in the works as well. Nintendo has learned from the initial disappointing sales of the 3DS that for a device to sell well, it needs to have a good starting line-up of games. And what better choice than a game from one of Nintendo’s bestselling series?
Releasing a new generation on a brand-new system could be too risky of a move, as casual fans would be hesitant to dish out the money for a new device right away, thus limiting sales. But Pokemon Z could provide the right balance, convincing serious fans to buy the newest handheld while not isolating more casual fans who wouldn’t be as interested in a follow-up title, anyway. But with exciting new mechanics and updated graphics, a sequel to the already much-acclaimed X and Y could provide a lifeline for a struggling company wishing to promote their newest gaming systems as effectively as possible.

Designing a game is one thing, but creating a franchise and turning into an empire is another.
While it may be relatively easy to attract masses during the information age, it was a whole different world in the 90s. Controlling the hype and enthusiasm around your franchise is another critical factor that makes or breaks series. Too much or too little of anything can easily reduce players interests, and Pokémon did it just right.

Players control a trainer from ancient Sinnoh times tasked with creating the first-ever Pokédex. To do that, they will need to explore a gorgeous open world. You can even catch Pokémon in the overworld by throwing an ancient Poké Ball. You also fight right in the overworld instead of going into a different battle mode. The Mega Timeline Continues A Few Years After X And Y
Games: Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon
We continue forward on the Mega Timeline to Pokemon Sun and Moon, plus their Ultra versions. How do we know a few years have passed? Unfortunately, Matsumiyas tweet stops at X and Y, but luckily, a couple of characters from former games appear in Sun and Moon, helping give us an idea of where these games fit into the series.
Most notably, Sina and Dexio two assistants to X and Ys Professor Sycamore appear in the game. Theyre on the search for the Legendary Zygarde, and, after you battle them, Dexio comments: This battle reminded me of us in the past and that group of five young trainers. The five young trailers hes referring to are seemingly the five main adventure friends in X and Y.
Sun and Moon also feature the Battle Tree, where trainers Red and Blue make a cameo appearance. Yes, the main characters from the original games return, and their new avatars are aged up fairly significantly. They should have according to this guesstimated timeline aged around 17 years since the events of Red/Blue/Green/Yellow, which seems reasonable.
There are also various other trainers from the other games that appear at the Battle Tree, including: the second boss of Team Phasma, Colress Pokemon Champion Cynthia, who appeared in Diamond and Pearl, as well as Black and White 2 and Grimsley, a member of the Unova Elite Four .

Pokmon X & Y Cancelled Sequels Revealed In Latest Nintendo Leak
The Nintendo gigaleak continues to gush, and the source code for the 3DS Pokémon games reveals cancelled sequels that were planned for X & Y.
In the most recent Nintendo leak, the plans for cancelled sequels to Pokémon X and Y have been unearthed. The sixth generation of Pokémon is one of the more divisive eras to many series fans, and this is in part due to Kalos never receiving a sequel or third “Z” version game like the other generations, but that may have not been Game Freak’s or Nintendo’s original plan.
Pokémon X and Y were the first 3D handheld Pokémon games to be released for the main series. Being on the extremely successful 3DS, the games sold immensely well. This financial success continues with Sword and Shield, showing that Pokémon is a hotter item than ever before. Gen VI introduced the immensely powerful Mega Evolutions that gave some old Pokémon new life and made popular ones even more powerful, though X and Y were also criticized for having a lack of postgame content. This was especially jarring considering the game that came before this was Pokémon Black & White 2, sequel games that were packed with content. This also wasn’t helped by a lack of a third game like Pokémon Platinum for Kalos, which has made Gen VI more contentious in the eyes of many.

It was said that the player-controlled male and female trainers were to be called Jean and Jane. What got everyone upset wasnt their names, but the fact that Mr. XY claimed their appearances werent going to be customizable like the original trailer implied. And honestly, Im glad this one turned out to be false. Who doesnt love personalizing their trainers clothes and hairdo?

Returning To France The Year After The Paris Attacks Would Be Too Soon
Nintendo and Pokemon have always been very careful about stirring controversy or reopening recent wounds. The episode of Pokemon Black and White that was supposed to introduce Team Plasma was cancelled after the March 11 earthquake, tsunamis, and nuclear meltdown because of its destructive content, and it hasn’t been released since. Is it really that odd, then, that Nintendo wouldn’t want to release a video game in which an evil team destroys parts of a region very clearly based off of France less than a year after the horrific terrorist attacks in the nation’s capital that left more than 100 dead?
On the other hand, a game in which the French people effectively triumph over their adversaries and rebuild their region/country could be the exact antidote that those still reeling from the attacks need. Nintendo had an interesting chance to integrate real-world events into their games here — and, of course, they passed it up.

Tinfoil Hat But Make It Pokemon
I know full well that this specific, four year old 4chan post might just be some bizarre confirmation bias on my psychological part. So, just for kicks, I want to hold it up to a set of standards familiar to the Pokemon community.
Serebii Confirmed is an old meme in the Pokemon fandom. If something is decided legitimate by the Pokemon news website Serebii.net, then the community can rest assured that the topic at hand isnt fabricated for clout. Im sure the webmaster for Serebii, Joe Merrick, sees a lot of poorly stitched-together leaks and spun info. This has been his pinned tweet for the last year or so:
Do I think this is the grim line in the sand drawn by a tired, tired individual? Yes. But more usefully, lets apply it to our XYSider post to help determine its authenticity.
At the time, it was obviously classifiable as a rumour. There was clearly and admittedly no properly supported evidence.
But elements of the post were slowly but surely given at least an air of retroactive validity. They became more true with each scrapped mechanic and plot point eventually becoming officially utilized. Does that count as confirmation?
After once asking Merrick about this post, I was promptly ignored and I didnt see it come up in any later conversation. However, without Merricks direct input I feel fairly confident in calling this post a leak by the prior standards.
Because if it wasnt a leak, it was an extremely spooky set of called shots.
