You can check up on the stats of your Pokemon once you catch them or by tapping them from the Pokemon collection page. Youll see a white circle surrounding them, filled up to some degree. Evolve That Eevee Rename It
If you remember the original Pokemon cartoon, you may recall the three Eevee Brothers, who each owned one of Eevee’s evolutions: a Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon. If you nickname your Eevee one of the brothers’ punny names, then it will evolve into your desired evolution! Want a Flareon? Then name it Pyro. Want a Jolteon? Name it Sparky! Jonesing for a Vaporeon? Then call it Rainer. This may not work all the time, however it’s an almost-guaranteed way to evolve one of your Eevees, but this weird method may not work 100 percent of the time.
What If I Want A New Buddy
To replace your Buddy, click on the Trainer avatar picture on the main screen, then tap the Pokemon Buddy on the Trainer profile screen. After that, tap the Swap icon on the lower right. You’ll get a message that asks if you’re absolutely sure you want to swap buddies. Tap Yes, if you’re a fair weather friend. But beware you’ll lose any progress you have made if with your Buddy if you swap too soon! You’ll want to swap Pokemon Buddies out after walking the full distance for a Candy.Also, you should not evolve your Buddy, at least not until after you’re done walking and collecting Candy for it. So youve captured the gym and put your best team in it. Youre set, right? Theres no way someone is going to take it from you. That used to be the case, but with the latest update things have changed. Now you have to take into account motivation, which is your Pokemons willingness to fight translated in combat power. Every day you hold a gym, the CP of your Pokemon drops. Once it hits zero, your Pokemon get kicked out of the gym unless you feed berries to each one holding it. To make matters worse, Pokemon with CP above 3,000 lose motivation faster. How Do Gyms Work
Once you reach level 5, visit a gym, and choose a team, you can do a few things, like battle other Pokemon from other Trainers. If the gym is the same color as you, you can battle the Pokemon stored there and replace it with yours so you can become a Defender . Or, if you visit an opposing gym claimed by another team, you can battle for supremacy.First, you can pick six Pokemon to take into battle. Then, you’ll face off against the weakest creature at the gym and work your way to the strongest. If you beat the gym, you take it over for your team! If not, you faint. Then, you have to go into your inventory and heal your Pokemon with Revives and Potions. You need to heal them, otherwise fainted Pokemon can’t participate in battle.

This calculates what a Pokémons CP will be when you evolve it. So, say youve got a 600CP Eevee that you want to evolve into an Umbreon, youd just pop that information into a calculator and itll tell you that Umbreon will have about 1,247CP when you evolve it.
The actual algorithm for evolving Pokémon depends on a few other factors, so most good Pokémon Go CP calculators also give you a probable range which your Pokémon should sit within. In this example, Umbreon should end up somewhere between 1,205 1,282CP.
However, there are also CP calculators that allow you to accurately test Pokémons statistics at certain levels. Youll need a bit more information to work this calculator, but its not too difficult to find. Heres what you need:

How Should You Use The New Appraisal Feature
The new Appraisal feature is a great way to quickly discover how powerful your new Pokemon are. Finding out that an old favourite has a three star rating is incredibly gratifying.
It’s especially useful for when you’re comparing a bunch of the same Pokémon, as you can keep the stat appraisal screen open as you move between Pokémon. This allows you to quickly compare stats and star rankings as you try to decide which Pokémon to keep and which ones to release.
You can even search for Pokémon by their specific star tier, just like how you can search for them by name. To do this, you’ll need to search:
- 0* = 0 Stars
- 3* = 3 Stars
- 4* = 3 Stars with a red background / 100% Pokémon
The new ranking system makes it a lot easier to decide which Pokémon are worth investing your Stardust and Candy in. Though it’s still important to remember a Pokémon’s rarity and whether it’s one of the best Pokémon in the game.
Though by and large the closer to 100% this is the better, depending on the Pokémon, some individual stats are more important than others – so it isn’t the be all and end all.
For example, if you have a Snorlax – one of the best creatures to put in a gym with its high health – with a low HP stat, that makes it a less attractive proposition. But then again, because it’s rare, you might not have any alternative Snorlax to rely on. Of course, an average Snorlax will still perform better than others in its field, so it could still be worth Powering up.

How To Power Up And Evolve Pokemon
If you check your Pokedex, you will see two options under a Pokemon Power Up and Evolve. Powering up a Pokemon requires a special item called StarDust and Evolution requires Candy. Both these items do not mean much at the very beginning of the game, but become one of the most sought-after items later in the game.
One important thing that you need to bear in mind is that StarDust is universal and can be used to power up any Pokemon while Candy is Pokemon-specific.
Every time you capture a Pokemon, you get x100 StarDust and its specific x3 Candy say Bulbasaur Candy. Aside from this, being a member of a gym provides x100 StarDust every 21 hours. Keeping these things in mind and using items like Incense and Lure Modules, you can easily farm these items use them power up or evolve your Pokemon.
Strongest Pokemon Based On Cp
One way to judge the best Pokemon is by looking at its max CP, a combination of all specific stats of a Pokemon.
Within the game, these are the five Pokemon who can achieve the highest max CP.
5. Zekrom/Reshiram/Dialga Max CP 4038 4. Kyogre/Groudon Max CP 4115 3. Mewtwo Max CP 4178 2. Regigigas Max CP 4346 1. Slaking Max CP 4431
One thing to bear in mind, however, is that a Pokemons CP isnt everything. Pokemon like Slaking and Regigigas havent been blessed with good movesets, therefore, cant be classed as great Pokemon.

Why Do I Need A Pokmon Go Cp Calculator
The clearest example of when you might need a Pokémon Go CP calculator is if youre playing the PvP mode, Go Battle League. To reuse our example from above, Umbreon is a perfect fit into Great League teams, so you want to be sure that evolving your Eevee wouldnt take it over 1500CP. My 600CP Eevee will be fine, clocking in at 1247CP, which I can then power up as close to 1500 as possible.
Ultra League has another CP limit, but the cap is higher at 2500CP. Master League has no limit to CP, but you might want to check how powerful your Pokémon will be before evolving it anyway.

Most base and common Pokémon, such as Caterpie and Zubat, have max CP values below 1,000. The water-type Pokémon Magikarp comes in with the lowest at 262.70, whereas its evolved Water/Flying type Gyarados is the 12th-highest on the list, with 2,688.89 max CP. The elusive and yet to be discovered Mewtwo comes in with the highest value at 4,144.75.

Go for walks! No, really, now that you have a designated Buddy you should go on strolls. Similar to egg-hatching, you can gain Candy for your buddy the more kilometers you rack up. Interestingly, different Pokemon require you walk different distances. For example, you need to walk 3 kilometers before you get a Candy for Slowpoke. You only get one candy after walking that specific distance, though.You can find out more about your Buddy’s progress by tapping the Trainer profile icon, then tapping the top of the screen, where your Trainer and Buddy are hanging out. At the top of the screen you’ll see the total distance traveled. In the middle, you’ll see your Buddy . At the bottom, there’s a gauge that shows how far you still need to walk for a Candy.
