Pokemon Scarlet and Violet was announced on the Pokemon Day showcase with a reveal trailer that initially featured live-action segments, so many fans watching the Pokemon Day stream initially thought it was a new Detective Pikachu project. However, Gen 9 is real as the trailer moved on to show gameplay footage of a brand new region.

Galar Houses The First

This number makes Galar the fifth most populated region in the Pokémon world, outranked by Sinnoh with 755 inhabitants, Unova with 949, Alola with 1005, and Kalos with 1288. The three regions that Galar outranks have less than 500 inhabitants, with Kanto having fewer than 400.
