Transferring Pokmon From Pokmon Home To Pokmon Sword And Shield
You can only transfer Pokémon that you can catch in Pokémon Sword and Shield from Pokémon Home into those games. That means you cant transfer Pokémon like Wurmple to Pokémon Sword and Shield, but they can stay in Pokémon Home indefinitely, so long as you pay your subscription fees.
Mythical Pokémon like Mew and Victini can only transfer to Pokémon Sword and Shield if you already have a legitimate version of that Pokémon in your Pokédex. These Pokémon have been available through events for a number of years, but if you missed out youll need to trade with a friend before you can transfer a mythical Pokémon to the main series game.

Thankfully, when you’ve got your Pokemon onto any of the games above, the process becomes much simpler thanks to the use of Pokemon Bank. Much like earlier with the first two generations of Pokemon games on the Virtual Console, you need a Pokemon Bank subscription to make this work. Make sure you have it downloaded and purchased, then open and sign in to the app. Select the appropriate game from the list above and your boxes from that game will be displayed on the touch screen.
Above that on the upper screen is where you’ll see your Pokemon Bank boxes and you can use the controls to move the respective Pokemon over. When you’re done transferring all the Pokemon you want in Pokemon Home, simply save and exit.
How To Link Your Pokmon Go And Nintendo Accounts
Setting up your Pokémon Home connection is the first step to transferring your Pokémon from Go to Home. First things first, open your app and head to settings. Scroll down to the bottom and click Pokémon HOME. This is where youll be able to connect your Pokémon Go account with your Nintendo account so make sure this is the Nintendo account that is linked to your Pokémon Home account!

Transferring Pokmon From Go To Home
Once your accounts are linked, you can transfer Pokémon using the Go Transporter. To do this, go to your settings, select Pokémon Home, and hit Send Pokémon.
From here, you can select any of the Pokémon you want to move. Keep in mind that you cannot transfer hat- or costume-wearing Pokémon, as well as Shadow or Mega Evolved Pokémon.
You can only transfer a limited number of Pokemon, as the Go Transporter only has a certain amount of energy. The energy recharges over time, but you can also opt to spend 1,000 Pokécoins to fill it back up instantly. It takes a little bit less than one week to refill the Go Transporter when its completely empty.
Transferring a Shiny Pokémon or Mythical Pokémon costs about 1/4 of the bar, and transferring a Shiny Legendary Pokémon depletes the entire bar. Transferring a regular Legendary Pokémon costs less than 1/6 of the bar.
You can only transfer Legendary Pokémon to Sword and Shield if youve already obtained them in that game, so dont get your hopes up if youre just trying to quickly complete your Pokédex.
If the Pokémon has a higher combat power, it will also cost a bit more.

How To Transfer Pokmon From Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl To Pokmon Home
Once Pokémon HOME and Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are both updated to support compatibility, players will be able to store their Pokémon in Pokémon HOME and transfer compatible Pokémon between games. From the Pokémon HOME menu, there are two options: Pokémon and Pokédex. Selecting Pokémon will allow players to access any local save files from compatible games and open their in-game storage boxes in order to transfer their Pokémon.
Storing Pokémon in Pokémon HOME will update its National Pokédex, which features almost all of the franchises Pokémon. Transferring Pokémon from Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will help players fill out the Sinnoh section of the National Pokédex as some of these Pokémon cannot be caught in Pokémon: Sword and Shield.
Its likely that Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will allow players to receive Mystery Gifts from Pokémon HOME, similar to Pokémon: Sword and Shield. However, unlike Sword and Shield, which allowed players to use the Mystery Gift function at the start of the game, Nintendo has stated that it will take approximately two hours of playtime before this function can be unlocked in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will be available on Nintendo Switch on November 19th.
How To Move Pokmon From Game Boy Advance And Ds Pokmon Games To Pokmon Home
Though not officially supported by Pokémon Bank or Pokémon Home, it is possible to get creatures from the other games in the series, such as Ruby and Sapphire or Diamond and Pearl, over to modern games.
The following games require a much more convoluted process to transfer Pokémon to either the Pokémon Bank and beyond. Again, note that all of these are one-way transfers only – meaning you cannot get these Pokémon back onto their original games once transferred.
Here’s what’s supported from older generations:
- Gen 1: Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow – not possible
- Gen 2: Pokémon Gold, Silver, Crystal – not possible
- Gen 3: Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen – transfer to Gen 4 by inserting the Gen 3 into a DS, then using the Pal Park feature. See the Gen 4 step below to continue.
- Gen 4: Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver – transfer to Gen 5 by connecting two DS or 3DS systems together using the Transfer Station. You can now use the Poké Transporter to transfer to Pokémon Bank.

How To Transfer From Pokemon Bank To Pokemon Home
If you have a paid Pokemon Home plan, you can use either the Switch or mobile version of the service to bring over Pokemon you have stored in Pokemon Bank. If you’re already a Pokemon Bank user, you’ll need to download the latest version of the app from the 3DS eShop before you begin. If you’re new to the service, you can use Pokemon Bank for free for 30 days, letting you transfer your pocket monsters even if you don’t have a subscription.
Once the Pokemon Bank update is installed, a new option to Move Pokemon to Pokemon Home will appear on the menu. Choose this and you’ll be presented with a list of all your Pokemon Bank boxes. You can then select which boxes you’d like to transfer over to Home. Note that this will move the entire box you won’t be able to individually select Pokemon within a box to transfer over.
After choosing which boxes you’d like to move, press Done on 3DS. You’ll then need to go into Pokemon Home to obtain a Moving Key and perform the actual transfer. In the mobile version, you can generate a key by selecting Move Pokemon from the Options menu in the Switch version, you’ll need to select the 3DS icon at the bottom of the main menu. Press Begin Move and the service will generate a Moving Key, which you’ll then need to type in on 3DS. The Moving Key will only be valid for three minutes, however, so you won’t have much time to use it.
What Pokmon Games Can I Use With Pokmon Home
As you can see above, Pokémon HOME is fully compatible with Pokémon Sword and Shield – you can transfer your Pokémon to and from the app at will.
You can also transfer Pokémon between Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! via Pokémon HOME, and transfer compatible Pokémon to from those games to Sword and Shield, although only monsters that are part of Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Galar Pokédex . Additionally, once they’re in Sword or Shield, they cannot then be transferred back to Let’s Go, Pikachu or Eevee.
Once transferred to Pokémon HOME, your Pokémon will be listed in the National Pokédex . Remember, Pokémon Sword and Shield has it’s own Pokédex and is not compatible with every single Pokémon, although with the additional Pokémon from the Expansion Passes, Sword and Shield will support over 600 Pokémon.
It is not currently possible to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME, although the feature is coming. It should be noted that transferred Pokémon cannot be moved back to Pokémon GO once they have been moved to Pokémon HOME.
For previous generation games, all Pokémon must be transferred via Pokémon Bank on 3DS. While it is possible to transfer Gen 1 and Gen 2 Pokémon from the 3DS Virtual Console releases of the original Game Boy games , it is not possible to move Pokémon from original Game Boy cartridges to Pokémon HOME.

How Do I Move Pokmon From Pokmon Home To Pokmon Sword And Shield
Once you’ve moved Pokémon to Pokémon HOME from Sword and Shield or other sources, compatible Pokémon can easily be transferred back to Sword and Shield by connecting with the game again and dragging your chosen Pokémon to the game’s boxes. Remember that only Pokémon present in the Galar Pokédex can be moved to Pokémon Sword and Shield.
Also remember that POKÉMON TRANSFERRED FROM LET’S GO PIKACHU AND EEVEE CANNOT BE MOVED BACK TO THOSE GAMES ONCE YOU’VE MOVED THEM TO SWORD AND SHIELD .

Pokemon HOME released on February 11, 2020 and is currently available on the Nintendo Switch eShop, Apple iOS, and Android devices. In order to use all the Pokemon HOME features you need both the Switch and the mobile app.

Can You Transfer Pokmon From ‘sword’ And ‘shield’ To ‘brilliant Diamond’ And ‘shining Diamond’
The answer to this burning question is a little complicated. Barring certain limitations, it is possible to bring over some of your favorite and experienced Pokémon to newer games on newer Nintendo consoles. This is largely thanks to “Pokémon HOME,” a cloud service on the Switch that allows you to store and move Pokémon between different games. Trainers can also use this in conjunction with “Pokémon Bank,” a paid service that lets you transfer Pokémon from older games into your HOME app.
But what does that mean for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl? Well, there’s good news and bad news. Pokémon HOME will be compatible with the new titles, so your current collection will soon join you in the Sinnoh region. Unfortunately, it won’t be available until 2022. This is likely to prevent players from skipping out on content for the new games by filling out their Sinnoh Pokédexes with their catches from older games. Luckily, Pokémon HOME compatibility is at least on the horizon.

How Do I Get Pokemon From Older Games Into Pokemon Bank
Complications arrive when it comes to getting Pokémon into Pokémon Bank. Right now, you can technically transfer Pokémon to Pokémon Bank from every generation of Pokémon — all main series games from Ruby and Sapphire on up, and the eShop versions of Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, and Crystal. However, some of this process requires jumping from game to game.
For example, a Torchic in Ruby will need to be sent to a Generation 4 DS game like Diamond or Pearl, which then must be sent to a Generation 5 game like Black or White, which can then send the Pokémon to Pokémon Bank. Every game has a different process for how this works, and you may need access to multiple systems, including a Game Boy Advance and a DS and a 3DS system, to make it all work.
The Sylph Road has a great guide breaking this process down for each game, including Pokémon Go! Fortunately, you only have to worry about it if you’re eager to bring Pokémon forward from really old game copies. Everything from Pokémon Black and White up have a direct line to Pokémon Bank, which then goes to Pokémon Home.
What Are The Differences Between The Nintendo Switch And Mobile Versions Of Pokmon Home

Can You Transfer Pokemon From Sword To Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Answered
The answer to this question is both yes and no. The good news is that The Pokemon Company has confirmed that Pokemon Home will be made compatible with both Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, allowing you to transfer your Pokemon from Sword to the new games and vice versa.
However, as is typically the case, there are no plans to make this feature available until several months after its launch. Home will only be made compatible with Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl later in 2022. This is likely to ensure the integrity of the games progression, meaning that players are instantly able to complete their Pokedex days after a new game launches via trading.
Take Your Old Pokmon On A New Adventure
You don’t have to buy the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra DLC to transfer older Pokémon into Pokémon Sword and Shield, but the expansions are an excellent addition to one of the best Nintendo Switch games. You can tear through the tundra with a Metagross or sweep through the Isle of Armor with a Dragonite.
