How To Breed Shiny Pokmon

The Masuda Method is the main way to breed Shiny Pokémon. This method is slightly more involved, as it requires players to first acquire one of the parent Pokémon from another player who is playing the game in a language other than yours, and then breeding it. This makes the resulting Pokémon a whopping six times more likely to be Shiny and brings the odds down to 1 out of 683. With the Shiny Charm, this goes down to 1 out of 512. The easiest thing to do is to trade for a foreign Ditto and then breed with any other Pokémon to have a shot at a non-Ditto Shiny offspring.

Note that this method is still a theory and has therefore not been confirmed in Sword & Shield. The Masuda Method was confirmed with these stats for Pokémon Sun & Moon and is likely to be the same or similar in the new games. However, its important to keep in mind that a consensus has not yet been reached.

How Do You Get A Pokmon Egg

How to HATCH EGGS FASTEST WAY possible in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Pokémon Eggs are different than the Lucky Eggs you get when you reach a significant new level or buy at the Shop. You cant buy Pokémon Eggs at all. You have to collect them at PokéStops, receive them in Gifts from friends, or earn them as rewards for meeting Weekly Fitness goals. Spin a stop when you have space for an egg, and theres a roughly 20% chance youll get a Pokémon Egg along with the more common PokéBalls, potions, and revives.

That doesnt mean youll get one egg every five stops, though. Random is random, which means you could get five eggs in a row or none at all. If you keep visiting and spinning Pokéstops, though, youll eventually get Pokémon Eggs.

7 KM eggs are not available at Pokéstops. Instead, you get them by opening Gifts send to you by friends. Be sure to open lots of Gifts if youre after Pokémon found in 7 KM eggs, though if youre tired of the same Pokémon over and over, you may want to either hold off on opening Gifts for a while or make sure your Eggs are full before you open them.

As of October 12, 2020, Players can now earn 12 KM Strange Eggs. These are rewarded for defeating the Team GO Rocket Leaders and contain only Dark type and Poison type Pokémon, or Pokémon that evolve into one of those types. It is not yet known if these Strange Eggs will eventually include other types.

What Is The Fastest Way To Hatch An Egg

There is no way to hatch eggs faster. The only thing you can do is use more than one incubator at one time to hatch multiple eggs at the same time. The faster you go, obviously the more ground you cover in a shorter amount of time. The speed limit is around 15MPH , so going any faster than that will not count toward your progress.

What Should You Know About Hatching Eggs In Pokemon Go

Released nearly four years ago on July 6, 2016, Pokemon Go quickly grew into one of the highest-played phone-based games around. With an estimated 500 million active users, spanning every content and country around the world, Pokemon Go is the definitive mobile game for players of all ages!

As what we mentioned at the beginning, Pokemon Go is designed to catch or train Pokemon while players explore the real world. Usually, there are 2 ways to obtain Pokemon Go eggs within the game.

You can wander around, looking for them. Unfortunately, that will only lead to disappointment as youll see a lot of Rattatas, but you wont frequently see many of the awesome Pokemon that you probably desire.

You can obtain Pokemon in order to get eggs. You can find these Pokemon Go eggs at Pokestops. Sometimes, you can also get them by leveling up.

Regardless of how you obtain the egg, you will need to hatch it! But avid Pokemon Go players know how hard it is to get in all the steps necessary to hatch eggs. There are 4 types of Pokemon Go eggs, and each type requires a different amount of walking to hatch.

They are:

  • 3 miles or 2 kilometers of walking to catch the most accessible eggs.
  • 3.1 miles or 5 kilometers of walking.
  • 4.3 miles or 7 kilometers of walking.
  • 6.2 miles or 10 kilometers of walking to hatch the most challenging eggs.

As you can see, even if you walk at a reasonably brisk pace of 4 miles per hour, the most time-consuming egg will still take 90 minutes worth of walking to hatch!

How To Pass Down Egg Moves

Once a Pokemon hatches, it will be at level 1 and may know certain moves that it normally cannot learn at that level. There are three types of Attacks that can be taught through breeding:

  • A Pokemon can learn an attack from a TM or TR if the father has one in their move set. This only works if the baby Pokemon would normally be able to learn that move.
  • A Pokemon can learn an attack that is normally learned at later levels if both of the parents already have it in their move sets. There are some instances where this will not work.
  • A Pokemon can learn an attack that is only learned through specific breeding – these are called Egg Moves. For example, breed a Togetic that knows Wish with a Pikachu to get a male Pichu that knows Wish. Evolve it into a Pikachu, then breed it with a female Eevee. You should get an Eevee that knows Wish, which it doesn’t usually learn by leveling up or by TM.
  • Pokemon Sword and Shield make sharing Egg Moves easier than ever now, too. Simply put one Eevee in the Nursery that knows Wish, and another Eevee that doesn’t. The new Eevee will learn Wish just by being at the Pokemon Nursery with the other Eevee!

Note: These Pokemon must be the same exact species. An Eevee can’t teach an Umbreon, and vice versa, for example.

Before I tell you exactly what to do, what you are going to initially need is the Flame Body ability on any Pokemon. What this does is, keeps the Pokemon in your party warm and consequently, lowers the time required to hatch the egg in your inventory, drastically.

The Pokemon you are going to need is Carkol or Coalossal. Simply evolve your Rolycoly into a Carkol which will eventually evolve into Coalossal. You can find them in Galar Mine, Giants Cap, Stony Wilderness, Bridge Field or in Max Raid Battles. Once you have them, check if they have the Flame Body ability. If they do, then you are set to go, if not, then it might take a few more tries to finally get what you want.

Hatching the EggsWe will now have a Pokemon with the Flame Body ability. What you want to do now is, move out all the unnecessary Pokemon, and just keep your Pokemon with the Flame Body ability and all the Eggs. There are two ways you can do this, both methods are fast. One is automated while the other is a bit more manual.

What makes an Egg hatch is how much the Trainer moves. So, what you want to do to automate this process is. Go into options, and check for the Vertical and Horizontal Camera Controls. Put them on the Regular Setting.

An alternative method, should you will to use it, is to go to the Route 5 Nursery, and simply go up and down until the egg hatches.

Breeding Guide Pokemon Sword And Shield

Our Pokemon Sword and Shield Breeding Guide details everything that you need to know about breeding Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Where to find Nursery in Pokemon Sword and Shield

You will need to find and have access to a Nursery before you can begin breeding your own Pokemon. Lucky for you, there are two nurseries in the game. You can use both of them at the same time to breed multiple Pokemon. The first nursery is located on Route 5. To get this nursery, simply walk on Route 5 and in between Turffield and Hulbury, you will come to the nursery where a woman will be standing outside it.

The second nursery is also located a little off Route 5 however it comes in Bridge Field. You can use this nursery for breeding in the game as well. You can leave two Pokemon at the first Nursery and two Pokemon here which will give you eggs after some time. Make sure that you come back to pick them up.

How to Breed Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Once you have access to a nursery, simply go to it and interact with the woman standing outside it. She will take in two of your Pokemon and keep them inside the nursery. She will charge you for taking them in so breeding is not free. You need to make sure that you have two same Pokemon but of the opposite genders to make it work.

How To Pass Down Individual Values

Individual Values are a Pokemon’s hidden stats that affect its overall potential, and range from values of 0 to Best . You want to get Best stats for most of a Pokemon’s stats, with some caveats. Some Pokemon actually benefit from having a low Attack or Speed stat, for example.

Can You Soft Reset For Hatching Eggs

Yes but this isnt the most optimal way of hatching shinies as it actually takes a longer time to go through the process.

Soft Resetting for eggs is when you save prior to receiving the egg from the Nursery worker. Once the egg is picked up everything about that Pokemon is predetermined. To Soft Reset an egg hatching you would have to save before picking up the egg and hatch the egg without saving between these two things happening. If the egg does not hatch into what you want you can reload your save file and receive the egg again for another chance however in most cases by the time you have received the egg and hatched it you will have already been able to receive at least one more egg from the Nursery giving you another chance anyway, which is why this method isnt really useful.

Each Pokmon Is In At Least One Egg Group

The one truly confusing part of breeding is the concept of Egg Groups, different families that each species of Pokémon fall under. These mostly have to do with their broader physical characteristics, such as how many Water-type fish are in their own Water Egg Group.

Many of these can lead to incredibly comical pairings, such as how Skitty and Wailord are both from the Field Egg Group. Knowing Egg Groups isn’t vital for most breeding purposes, but knowing these categories are important if you want any of the benefits that come with cross-species breeding.

Some Information On The Last Two Pokmon Chapters

Sword and Shield Pokémon mark the arrival ofeighth generation of Pokémon, and will see us engaged in the arduous task of becoming the best trainers in the brand new Galar region. Sword and Shield are also i first chapters of the main saga to arrive on a home console, or rather hybrid in this case. Despite some controversy, the titles are receiving a fairly warm reception from the public. These disputes are for example the removal of the GTS, and the reuse of assets from chapters for 3DS. Unfortunately, due to these problems, even Pokémon Sword and Shield have been victims of the now very frequent review bombing. The user-score on Metacritic in fact stands at a miserable 3,7, certainly far from being indicative of the real quality of the titles.
