Pokmon Sword And Shield Mewtwo Weakness

How to get Mewtwo in Pokemon Sword and Shield Version

Mewtwo in Pokémon Sword and Shield has a weakness to Ghost, Dark, and Bug-type attacks.

It has these weaknesses because its a Psychic-type Pokémon. However, while itll suffer more damage from the aforementioned attacks, itll easily soak up blows from Fighting and Psychic-type moves.

Per GameWith, the best Pokémon for trying to defeat Mewtwo are as follows:

  • Grimmsnarl

  • Dawn Wings Necrozma

While these Pokémon are good choices in attempting to defeat the limited-time boss, GameWith specifically notes not to use Eternatus. This is because its weak to Psychic attacks meaning itll be easily defeated.

And thats all there is to know about Mewtwo and his weaknesses in Pokémon Sword and Shield. For those who attempt to defeat this colossus, all we can say is Godspeed.

Where To Find Mewtwo On Pokemon Sword And Shield And Tips On How To Beat Him

Yesterday, Tech Times reported that Pokemon GO would be featuring an Armored Mewtwo as the Raid Boss in Pokemon GO Raid Battles starting on Feb. 25 up to Mar. 2. Now, Pokemon Sword and Shield will also feature the same pocket monster as an addition on the Kanto starters from the game starting today until Monday, Mar. 2.

As a clarification, unlike in Pokemon GO, Sword and Shield do not let players catch Pokemon Mewtwo on the game. However, players will have tons of amazing rewards once you get to beat him on the Max Raid Battle.

How To Get Mewtwo In Pokemon Sword & Shield

Mewtwo originally appeared in Pokemon Sword & Shield as part of a max raid, but it was only a boss. You could fight it, but not catch it. Now, however, you have a chance – with the addition of The Crown Tundra DLC, Pokemon Sword & Shield now has a reliable new way to catch a wide variety of Legendary Pokemon: Dynamax Adventures.

Dynamax Adventures are essentially four-player raid battles where players work through a Pokemon Den, fighting challenging Dynamax Battles against a range of Pokemon, working your way through the Den. You have the opportunity to take one of the Pokemon you defeat and catch away from the Dynamax Adventure as a permanent catch.

At the end of each Pokemon Den awaits a Legendary – and Mewtwo is one of the classic legendary Pokemon that can appear as a potential final boss of a Den.

Which Pokemon awaits at the end is random, so you’ll just have to keep running raids and hoping for Mewtwo.

Pretty much every H Legendary Pokemon that wasn’t already in Sword & Shield is on the list of legendary Pokemon that can appear in Dynamax Adventures, including the original, non-Galarian forms of Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres.

For a full list of the Legendary Pokemon obtainable through the Dens, check out our Dynamax Adventures & Pokemon Dens guides.

Transferring Mew From Pokmon Go

Unfortunately, Pokémon Home does not yet support transfers with Pokémon GO, but it is a planned feature. Once Pokémon GO has been integrated with Home, you should be able to transfer Mew from your Go account to a box in Home, and from there to Sword & Shield.

The Way To Defeat Mewtwo In Pokemon Sword And Shield

PKMBuy provides Pokemon sword and shield players with all Pokémon For Sale, Buy 6IV Shiny, Gigantamax, Bundle Pokemon With Instant Delivery on pkmbuy.com, 24/7 Service.

In Pokemon Sword and Shield, Players can encounter two different types of Mewtwo, physical or special. If you like Mewtwo, the PKMBuy is a good place to Buy Pokemon Sword and Shield. There is no way to determine which Mewtwo is what, because the player cannot view the Pokemon statistics before entering. All players can do is hope they get a physical Mewtwo because its physical attack statistics are much weaker than its special. The way the player recognizes whether Mewtwo is an entity or special depends on how Mewtwo starts the battle.

If Mewtwo had a shield when it started fighting, then it is a special attacker. If the shield does not appear at the beginning, it is a physical attack. Its moves include Ice, Fire, Electric, Dark, Ghost, and Fighting. Introducing ghost-type Pokemon may be the best move, but Mewtwo can defeat almost any enemy. It is recommended to bring legendary Pokemon like Necrozma, Zacian, and Marshadow. If the trainer does not have these Pokemon, Grimmsnarl, Dracovish, and Dragapult are also effective.

Where To Find Mewtwo In Pokemon Sword And Shield

HOW TO GET MEWTWO IN POKEMON SWORD AND SHIELD (THROUGH POKEMON HOME) (BEST METHOD)

One method of having Mewtwo in Pokemon Sword and Shield is to transfer it over from Pokemon Home. Players can then have the Pokemon in their party and interact with it in Pokemon Camp. As for locating it naturally in the game, in order to find Mewtwo, the player must participate in Max Den Raids. Search around the Wild Area for Max Den Raids and throw Wishing Pieces into them. The spawn is completely random, so it may take a few attempts. It usually appears within every 10 Wishing Pieces. It’s also possible the player’s friends may be participating in certain battles, so to save time, make sure to look for friends to play with or spend Watts on Wishing Pieces.

It is officially Pokemon Day, a day that gives fans of the franchise an added boost to their games.

Pokemon Sword and Shield players will now be able to battle Mewtwo in Max Raid Battles as well as some other familiar faces.

Although we weren’t expecting to see him until the Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra DLC, this is a nice surprise.

Mewtwo Arrives In Pokemon Sword And Shield

As part of the Pokemon Company’s celebration of the franchise’s 24th birthday, Sword and Shield players will now be able to battle Mewtwo in Max Raid Battles.

Not only that, as the Kanto Regions starter Pokemon will also be available in Max Raid Battles.

You can expect Mewtwo, Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Charmander to pop up in your game from now until Monday, March 2nd.

The limited-time event will also see Gigantamax Grimmsnarl, Kingler, Hatterene, Orbeetle and Toxtricity crop up here and there.

The Japanese announcement trailer can be seen here.

Unfortunately, players won’t actually be able to catch the legendary Psychic Pokemon, but there are some valuable rewards each time players defeat one.

While the Kanto region starters will be dropping EV reducing berries, Toxic Orbs, Flame Orbs, and Life Orbs, beating Mewtwo gives players the chance to earn Ability Capsules and PP Max.

Although, it’s not exactly adding a Mewtwo to your team, it’s something.

How To Find Mewtwo In Max Raid Battles

Even though its technically the main event going on right now, Mewtwo and the starters didnt replace the usual rotation of special Pokémon that players can find when looking for Max Raids. Overall, the Psychic-type has a 10-percent spawn chance, while competing for five-star space with Gigantimax Orbeetle, Kingler, Hatterene, Grimmsnarl, and Toxtricity.

It isnt impossible to find, so just keep your eyes on the Max Raid invites page of your game while looking through the Wild Area.

A key thing you need to know is that youre unable to actually capture any Mewtwo if you do manage to defeat them. This is intentionally coded into the game for some reason, but Game Freak has not given a reason for it yetthough its likely because the developers have no plans on putting Legendary Pokémon into raids outside of this for some time.

How To Get Mewtwo In Sword And Shield

Mewtwo is nearly impossible to beat in new Pokémon Sword ...

Unfortunately, Mewtwo isnt in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Yet. Mewtwo appears to have been one of the many Pokemon that didnt make the Galar region cut. As of writing, without hacking the game, there isnt any way to get hold of a Pokemon Sword and Shield Mewtwo. The day may come, however, that you will be able to transfer a Mewtwo over to the game, thanks to the eventual release of the Pokemon Home app.

Nintendos upcoming Pokemon Home app will allow players to transfer Pokemon between games more easily than ever. While it remains to be seen how many Pokemon will be allowed to transfer in from Home into Sword and Shield, there is a solid chance that Mewtwo may well be allowed. Based on videos such as this from Kyugma, Mewtwo exists in the game code, being made available currently through hacks.

This likely means that Mewtwo will be available to transfer into Pokemon Sword and Shield following the release of Pokemon Home. Of course, time will tell if this is the case or not. For now, there is no way of catching or using a Pokemon Sword and Shield Mewtwo. Youll have to turn to games such as Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee if youre after an HD Mewtwo fix.

Trading For Mew On Pokmon Home

Because Mew is a Mythical Pokémon, you can’t ask for one on the GTS. Your only way to get a Mew via trade is either by heading into a Trade Room or by Wonder Trade, although the odds of getting a Mew via the latter method are astronomically low.

If you’ve got a friend with a spare Mew, head into a Trade Room to perform a private trade and then transfer to Sword & Shield. Otherwise, stick with the previous two methods of Mew acquisition.

Mewtwo Versus Armored Mewtwo

In addition to differences in physical appearance, Mewtwo andArmored Mewtwo function in unique ways. Each learns some different movesthe regularMewtwo learns many attacks that are special moves in the Pokémon RPGs, whileArmored Mewtwo learns many attacks that are physical moves. The two alsoperform differently in battleregular Mewtwo is nearly peerless at dishing outdamage but also takes more in return, while Armored Mewtwo is much sturdier butat the cost of attack strength. This often makes regular Mewtwo a better choicefor Raid Battles and Armored Mewtwo a stronger option for Trainer Battles.

How To Get Mew In Pokemon Sword & Shield

Wondering how to get Mew in Pokemon Sword & Shield? Well, despite the addition of modes that are built around legendary hunting in The Crown Tundra, there isn’t a way to catch Mew as a standard feature in Pokemon Sword & Shield. There’s a reason for this, however!

Returning Pokemon available in Dynamax Adventures like Mewtwo, Rayquaza, Zygarde, and others are Legendary Pokemon. Mew is a Mythical Pokemon.

Mythical Pokemon are typically only made available via Events – which means you can expect to not find new ways to catch Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, or even the more newly added Meltan in the new Sword & Shield DLC. Legendary hunt to your hearts’ content – but you won’t be mythical hunting. You’ll have to wait for events.

With that said, there is still one method to get your hands on Mew in Sword & Shield – but it requires a specific accessory.

How To Beat Mewtwo In Pokemon Sword And Shield

Get Mewto in POKEMON SWORD & SHIELD!

While many other raid battles seem to fall under the “easy” category, Mewtwo is currently the hardest Raid Battle to ever exist in Pokemon Sword and Shield. This Mewtwo is Level 100, is EV trained , and can use 6 different moves when normal Pokemon can only use four. It is nearly required to bring friends along. Try fighting this Mewtwo with a full party of human players. One wrong move from an AI assistant can ruin the entire run for everyone. Teamwork makes the dreamwork. One of Mewtwo’s biggest threats comes from the fact that it knows plenty of moves to counter almost any team.

Make sure to have a player to set up barriers like Light Screen and Reflect. This Pokemon also should not Dynamax, as setting up barriers is important to taking damage from Mewtwo. Marshadow is the best Pokemon to bring along for this Max Raid Battle, as it has the move Spectral Thief, a move that steals the opponent’s stat boost and attacks. This move can only be learned by Marshadow and finding this Pokemon was only available through events in Pokemon Sun and Moon and Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon. Finding it now is impossible without trading or hacking. Also, regardless of defeating the Mewtwo, it is not available to capture, although the player will get some rare items from defeating it.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are available now on the Nintendo Switch.

Pokmon Sword And Shield Mewtwo Location

There isnt a specific location in Pokémon Sword and Shield for where you can find the Mewtwo Max Raid boss battle.

All that can be said about the location of Mewtwo is that he can be found in the Wild area from one of the many glowing dens.

Pokémon Legends Arceus: A familiar region. A new story.

In addition to his location being non-specific, you only have until March 2nd to locate and try to beat him.

You cannot capture Mewtwo by toppling him, but you will receive great rewards such as PP Max, Exp. Candy XL, and Comet Shard.

THIS IS FREAKIN AWESOME!

How To Unlock Mew In Pokemon Sword & Shield

To unlock Mew, you’ll need to have the Poke Ball Plus, a Poke Ball-shaped controller that was first released alongside Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee last year. The Poke Ball Plus could either be purchased individually for $50 USD or bundled together with a copy of either Let’s Go game.

The accessory itself functions much like a Joy-Con and can be used to play the Let’s Go titles, but the real incentive to pick one up is that it comes with Mew as an exclusive bonus. If you have not already redeemed Mew in Let’s Go, you can connect the Poke Ball Plus to your copy of Sword or Shield and claim the Mythical Pokemon in those games instead.

To connect the Poke Ball Plus with Sword and Shield, go into the menu screen and select Mystery Gift. From there, select the option to connect to a Poke Ball Plus and you’ll be able to download Mew into your game. As previously mentioned, however, this will only work if you haven’t already claimed the Mythical Pokemon in a Let’s Go title if you have, then you’ll either need to purchase another Poke Ball Plus or wait until the Pokemon Home service launches sometime next year to transfer it into Sword or Shield.
