Candy Xl Costs Per Level
To power up your Pokémon to level 40, there is a Stardust and candy cost, but to go beyond level 40, you need Candy XL along with your Stardust.
You can power your Pokémon up to Level 50 from a Trainer Level of 40, so you dont need to be above Level 40 to have maxed out Level 50 Pokémon. Level 41+ Pokémon are usable in Master League, but not in Master League Classic.
Levelling up with Candy XL is certainly an expensive endeavour! Purified Pokémon have a slightly reduced Candy XL cost, and Shadow Pokémon have an even higher Candy XL cost.
Do note that it takes two powerups to increase a whole level. It will take you 250000 dust and 296 Candy XL to power up a Pokémon from Level 40 to 50.

What Is Xl Candy In Pokmon Go And How Does Xl Candy Work
XL Candy is a new resource available for players who hit Level 40, allowing them to level their Pokémon to an even higher CP level.
As with Levels 1 to 40, this new CP level scales with the new Trainer level cap increase going all the way to Level 50. It should be noted with XL Candy is that, as soon as you hit Level 40, you can level a Pokémon all the way to 50 if you like provided you have the XL Candy available.
As with Candy and Mega Energy, each XL Candy is tied to that evolution chain of Pokémon. So if you want to level up a Charizard past its Level 40 CP cap, then you need to get your hands on Charmander XL Candy.
Due to it being an end-game resource, and the ability to make already powerful Pokémon even stronger, its harder to get your hands on than existing Candy. That said, many of the methods are the same it just involves a spot of luck.
Try Adding Friends Fast
Special research requires more friends to beat and proceed. Hence, the first trick says you to add friends a fast pace. In case, you donât have a lot of friends just remove and add an existing friend again. Let us know how.

Work Extra Hard During Double Xp Events
Double XP events come round semi-regularly and of course, offer a chance for you to earn bonus XP for doing things like catching, hatching and evolving Pokemon.
Playing the game lots during these periods is a surefire way to level up fast. Popping a Lucky Egg during these events will give you an even larger XP boost.
How To Get Xl Candy In Pokemon Go
It’s safe to say that acquiring enough XL Candy to level up a specific Pokemon to level 50 won’t happen in a day or two. There are multiple ways to get XL Candy, but getting a total of 296 per Pokemon isn’t easy.
The first and main method of acquiring XL Candy is to catch more Pokemon. You have a chance of receiving 1-3 XL Candy per catch. It won’t happen every time you catch a Pokemon, but it’s frequent enough that it becomes a reliable way of earning XL Candy… if you can find the right Pokemon to catch in the first place.
There’s also a chance you receive XL Candy by hatching eggs, as does transferring Pokemon to Professor Willow. Trading Pokemon with another player can give each of you XL Candy too, but at the time of writing this function has been disabled while Niantic balances it, but will be re-enabled in future.
Finally, you can convert normal candy into XL Candy, but the rate is 100 candy to one XL Candy. That’s not great at all, so we wouldn’t recommend it. Rare XL Candy exists in the game, but is incredibly hard to acquire, as it seems to drop only when levelling up past level 40, with just a couple per level.
As far as we know, the best way to level up standard wild Pokemon to level 50 is by catching as many of them as possible and transferring them to Professor Willow. This does make legendaries almost impossible to reach level 50, but as time goes on, Niantic is sure to introduce new ways to earn XL Candy.

Keep Your Shinies And Stardust
This tip continues on the prior recommendation to find trade partners. It’s wise to keep a hold of your Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Go. Shinies are Pokemon with a variant color scheme, and they are exceedingly rare. Most Pokemon players highly value Shiny Pokemon and try to collect particular Shinies.
With that in mind, it’s a good idea to hold onto what Shinies you find, as they may be useful in trading for a Meltan from another player. Keep a hold of your Stardust too, as you’ll need it to accomplish these trades.
What About Transferring Pokmon To The Professor
You can also get Candy by transferring Pokémon to the Professor. These are typically Pokémon you don’t want or need for example, lower powered duplicates of Pokémon you already have. You get one Candy of the appropriate type per transfer. So, if you transfer a Charizard, Charmeleon, and Charmander, you get one Chamander Candy for each.

As A Reward For Completing Certain Research Tasks
Research Tasks, whether they’re Field Research, Special Research, or Event Research, may provide Rare Candy upon completion.
To check whether there are Field Research Tasks available this month that provide Rare Candy, just head over to the Silph Road, where they keep an up-to-date list of all available tasks and what their possible rewards are. After that, if you’re determined enough, it’s just a matter of camping on a Pokestop, spinning it to get new tasks, deleting the ones that don’t give Rare Candy, and repeating.
Keep in mind that Pokemon GO is fully aware of how valuable Rare Candy is, so the tasks that provide it are usually a little more challenging than normal.

Pick Up Lets Go Eevee Or Pikachu
This isnt an easy one given the price, but picking up Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu or Lets Go Eevee may be the easiest way for you to obtain your Melmetal. Evolving Meltan into Melmetal is a lot easier with Lets Go Pikachu or Eevee for reasons that will be covered later on in this list.
If youve not played a Pokemon game before outside of Pokemon Go, the Lets Go games are actually a really good introduction to the core Pokemon series. It marries the mechanics of the core games with many of the mechanics of Pokemon Go and does so in a game that is a good bit easier than the other Pokemon games of its kind.

What Do Candy And Stardust Do In Pokemon Go
Candy and Stardust are rewarded for every Pokémon you capture in the wild. Power Ups require both Candy and Stardust, while evolutions only require Candy. Candy types are species specific, meaning that each Pokémon comes with its own particular brand of Candy. The same applies to Rare Candy, which is received upon acquiring a rare Pokémon. Curveball Throws And Berries
Although a simple straight throw will be enough to catch many common Pokemon, you’ll have better luck capturing monsters by pulling off curveball throws. Spin the Poke Ball in a circle a few times, then swipe upward at an angle to curve your throw. This will further increase your odds of capturing the monster if you’re able to hit it.
Feeding the wild Pokemon a berry will also boost your chances of catching it. Berries come in several varieties.
