How To Evolve Porygon Into Porygon2 In Pokmon Go

Porygon evolves into Porygon2 in the main Pokémon series via held-item trading, much the same as for other Gen 2 Pokémon like Steelix, Politoed, and Kingdra.

Again, in a similar fashion to those Pokémon, in Pokémon Go the method is different: you’ll simply need the same evolutionary item, in this case the Up-Grade, and the right amount of Candy, to evolve your Porygon into Porygon2. How To Get Evolution Items In Pokemon Go

Now, I dont want to sound like a nagging Poke-parent – ironic given how lax parents are in the main games – but its time to up your game and start playing Pokemon Go every day. Yep, on your feet soldier. If you arent already, this small step will guarantee you a Pokemon Go evolution item every seven days from your seven day Pokestop streak and increase your odds of finding a Sinnoh Stone.

Regular special items such as Up-Grades and Kings Rocks sometimes even drop from regular Poke Stops but making sure to spin a Poke Stop every day and working towards your streak will ensure you get at least one every week. Bear in mind though that its impossible to predict what youll get so you might have to see a few Metal Coats before you find the Sun Stone you want.

The Sinnoh Stone, introduced with Gen 4, is a significantly trickier find but not impossible. There are two main ways to find a Sinnoh Stone. The first is to complete your seven day research breakthrough tasks. This essentially means earning one stamp each day until you earn a legendary Pokemon encounter. If youre lucky, at the same time, youll earn a Sinnoh Stone but they are not guaranteed. The second way to find one is to take part in trainer battles via PvP. Porygon was selected as the next Community Day Pokémon by Pokémon Go players and the event is about to begin.

This Sunday, trainers will see an abundance of Porygon, the Normal-type Pokémon from the Kanto region, in the overworld, along with a bevy of in-game bonuses that include two sets of research tasks and an exclusive move.

Porygon Community Day also gives trainers the best and easiest chance to evolve their Porygon into its two evolutions.

POKEMON GO PORYGON COMMUNITY DAY START TIME

The Porygon Community Day event in Pokémon Go will begin Sunday, September 20, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time.

SHINY PORYGON

As with other Pokémon who receive the Community Day spotlight in Pokémon Go, Porygon will appear more frequently in the overworld. However, this event will mark the debut of Shiny Porygon into the game.

Shiny Porygon has a vastly different appearance from its normal counterpart. Normal Porygon has a pink and blue color while Shiny Poryong changes its pink color to a deep blue and its light blue into a grayish purple color.

The rate that trainers will be able to encounter a Shiny Porygon will be higher during the six-hour event than any other time.

How To Evolve Porygon Into Porygon2

In order to evolve Porygon into Porygon2, youll have to find the Upgrade item. Its located in the Training Lowlands. Fast travel to the location and face the cave entrance. Go left and walk through the tall grass. The Upgrade item can be found in the small passageway between the cliff and the large rock.

Once you have the item, go into your Bag and give the Upgrade to Porygon so that it holds the item. With that set, youll need to find someone you can trade it with, hopefully someone trustworthy. The moment the trade is made, Porygon will evolve into Porygon2. Unfortunately the person you traded with has your evolved Pokemon so youll have to trade again to get it back.

Rare Item Needed To Evolve Pokemon

Upgrade is one of seven evolutionary items in Pokemon GO. All of these items, save two, are from the main series games and are necessary for certain Pokemon to evolve. A list of all seven is below:

• Upgrade
• Sinnoh Stone
• Unova Stone

There are a couple of ways that trainers can get them, but opportunities to grab these items come few and far between. The main method trainers can use to maybe grab one of these items is through spinning PokeStops. Whenever a PokeStop is spun, there is a chance one of the evolutionary items will be dropped.

Heres the catch: the chance of this happening is 1%. Any trainer who gets an Upgrade through this way should consider themselves incredibly lucky.

There is also a way, though, that trainers can improve these odds. If one can keep a streak going of spinning a PokeStop once per day for an entire week, they are guaranteed to get one of the evolutionary items as a reward on the last day. So, that would give trainers a 1 in 7 chance of getting an Upgrade every week.

Occasionally, there are other events where some of the evolutionary items become available.

For instance, Duskulls Community Day gave Sinnoh Stone to trainers so they could evolve Dusclops into Dusknoir.

Thankfully, the Ultra Unlock event comes into play to help. On the fourth step of the events Time Timed Research, you will get tasked to catch seven Porygon, which will grant you an Upgrade.

However, you have to hurry up if you want to benefit from what the event has to offer, as it will stop on August 3, at 8:00 pm.

Alternatively, you can get Upgrades from PokeStops, as evolution items have a chance of being dropped.

Weather Influence On Porygon

With just one single weakness, Porygon-Z does not need to take a lot of factors into consideration while looking at the weather. It is advisable to use Porygon-Z in Partly Cloudy weather to boost its potential Normal type moves, but consider using it under other circumstances if the current weather boosts Porygon-Zs moves. Keep in mind that Porygon-Z is not a very good defender due to its average bulk and it will probably suffer under Cloudy weather if the enemy knows any Fighting type moves.
