As of the moment, there are no confirmed events beyond Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto, although that’s not to say that the community is completely in the dark when it comes to the long-term future of the game. By looking at its current trajectory and how things currently stand, it is possible to get a pretty good idea of what the next 12 months might look like.
When it comes to new Pokemon, Niantic has been adding them at a rate of around 100 per year a trend that could see Pokemon Go catch up with the mainline series as early as 2022. It seems likely that the developers will first look to fill in the gaps in the Hoenn and Sinnoh Pokédexes, which would involve adding Kecleon, Phione, Manaphy, Shaymin, and Arceus. From there, they’ll probably start to fill in some of the gaps in the Kalos and Unova regions while also dropping in the occasional Galar Pokemon.
On the Mega Evolution front, Pokemon from the first generation seem to have been prioritized thus far, with Mega Houndoom, Mega Abomasnow, and the soon to arrive Mega Ampharos being the only exceptions. If this trend continues, Alakazam, Kangaskhan, Pinsir, Gyarados, Aerodactly, and Mewtwo are all strong contenders to receive Mega Evolutionary forms in 2021, although the latter may be saved for a special event. Given that the game has averaged around two new Mega Evolutions per month since their introduction, users can probably expect at least 20 more to arrive over the coming year.

Eduardo Paes, then-mayor of Rio de Janeiro, stated that he hoped the app would be released in Brazil before the start of the 2016 Summer Olympics in the city , and United States presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton mentioned the app during their 2016 election campaigns. Niantics Own Earnings Prove Pokemon Go Needs To Change Direction

Pokemon Gos player base has loudly expressed its concerns about the direction the mobile powerhouse has been headed over the past year and Niantics own earnings could prove its headed the wrong way.
Since its massive launch in 2016, Niantics breakout hit Pokemon Go has amassed over $6 billion in revenue worldwide. Of course, the yearly landmark earnings are inevitable when allowing mobile phone users to have the worlds #1 grossing media franchise at their fingertips.
However, Niantic has fought an uphill battle since the games launch. With a peak active player base in 2016 of 232 million users, Pokemon Go would lose more than 100 million players the following year, double its players in 2018, and then slowly decline to a near all-time low.
Despite earning $1 billion in both 2020 and 2021, players have been outspoken about the controversial changes made in 2021 and 2022. And the decline in players, as well as in earnings, proves these gripes actually have a negative impact on the Pokemon Go.

If you drove by the 300 block of 2nd Avenue S in St. Petersburg Sunday afternoon, you would have seen four adults furiously tapping on their phone screens.
