However, trading Pokemons in Pokemon go could be slightly tricky without having at least one close friend in the games who is also of a considerable level. Only then, you will be able to evolve your pokemon by trading.

Do You Mean Legendary Pokmon Can You Trade Legendary Pokmon

You can, actually! But legendary trades require extra restrictions, because theyre designated as special trades. There are actually a handful of Pokémon that are classified as special trade-exclusives:

  • Pokémon not already in your Pokédex, including special forms of Pokémon

To trade any of these, youll need to be at least Great Friends with your partner. These trades also require way more stardust than average ones. That cost will go down if youre better friends with the person youre trading with, however.

How Regular Trading Works

  • You can only trade Pokémon once you’ve reached Trainer level 10.
  • During a regular trade, you can only trade Pokémon that are in both of your Pokédex’s, and you can’t trade Legendary or Shiny Pokémon.
  • You have to be within 100 metres from the person you’re trading with.
  • When trading Pokémon, you will see the CP and HP range of the Pokémon you will get. Each Pokémon’s stats will be affected by the trade, though we’re not sure exactly how right now.
  • Trades cost 100 Stardust, and you will receive a Stardust discount while trading with friends. The amount discounted depends on your friendship level.
  • You will receive bonus Candy for trading, and this is relative to the distance between where the Pokémon were caught. Presumably, you’ll receive more Candy the further the distance the two Pokémon were caught.

Pokmon Go Trade Evolution List And How Trade Evolutions Work

How to trade Pokémon in Pokémon Go

Before we get into the specifics of trading itself, let’s start with 2020’s big new feature – trade evolutions.

In the mainline Pokémon games, there’s a set of Pokémon that can only be evolved if they’re traded with another player. When Pokémon Go was released, these Pokémon were all evolved through candy, due to the lack of trading.

Now, however, trade evolution has been incorporated into Pokémon Go, offering a different evolution method for a specific group of Pokémon. These Pokémon are:

Once you’ve traded one of the above Pokémon, the candy cost for evolving them into their third and final evolution will be reduced to zero. This will allow you to quickly add this new Pokémon to your Pokédex, while also gaining a powerful new team member.

If you don’t have any fellow trainers to trade with, however, you’ll still be able to evolve these Pokémon with the candy.

It costs 100 candy to evolve Kadabra, Machoke, Graveler and Haunter from Gen 1.

It costs 200 candy to evolve Boldore, Gurrdurr, Karrablast and Shelmet from Gen 5.

It’s also important to note that Pokémon that evolve using a combination of items and candy in Pokémon Go don’t receive the trade evolution discount. Even though, in the mainline games, a requirement of their evolution is being traded with another player.

How To Catch Shiny Ditto

If you are extremely lucky, you might not only encounter a Ditto in disguise, but a Shiny Ditto!

A Shiny Ditto will appear blue instead of purple. Shiny Ditto will diguise itself as all the same Pokemon as the regular Ditto. However, a Shiny Ditto will never diguise itself as another Shiny Pokemon. Only normal Ekans, Gastly, Spinarak, Natu, Surskit, Numel, Bidoof, Finneon, Dwebble, Lillipup, and Swirlix have chance of being a Shiny Ditto in disguise.

How To Trade In Pokemon Go Despite Trade Restrictions

There is only one major restriction when it comes to Trading, but it is very important to know.

Every Pokemon can only be traded one time.

This is because Pokemon roll for a new CP every time they are traded, and Niantic do not want players gaming the system for strong Pokemon.

If you trade a Pokemon to a friend, they will not be able to trade it back to you, or to anyone else.

How to trade in Pokemon Go, costs, who you can trade with and more

Pokemon Go trading is the mobile take on a key component of the Pokemon franchise. Aside from catching and raising your Pokemon, trading with friends has been a staple of the games since the 1990s and that trend continues in okemon Go.

To trade in Pokemon Go, trainers must fulfil the following three criteria as a baseline:

  • Be level 10 or above
  • Be friends on Pokemon Go with the person you’re trading with
  • Be within 100 meters of them in real life

Once these conditions are fulfilled, trainers can begin trading. Here are the specifics on all things trading in Pokemon Go.

Can You Keep Trading Pokmon Back

No. Pokémon Go has stated:

To bar some Trainers from continually re-rolling a Pokémon’s stats through trade. However, all Pokémon cannot be traded again. This feature incentivizes trading without giving a significant advantage to one Trainer over another.

So it’s one-and-done, to prevent exactly that.

Should I Wait Until Best Friends Before Trading For Ivs

  • Would I benefit immediately from having this Pokemon?

  • Is Pokemon storage space a problem for either party?

  • Will a future trade be impossible ?

If the answer is yes to any of the questions, then trade now. Otherwise, hold off until reaching best friends to maximize the chance of obtaining a high IV Pokemon. Waiting will also age the Pokemon, increasing the likelihood that it will become lucky.

How Does Trade Evolution Work In Pokemon Go

Pokemon Go Trade Evolution List UnBrick.ID

There are a few requirements youll need to meet before you can trade in Pokemon Go. Most importantly, you have to be friends with the person you want to trade with by sharing your Trainer codes. Both of you will need to be at least Level 10 in Pokemon Go, and youll have to be within close physical proximity of each other. You cannot currently trade with Friends remotely.

Trading Pokemon also costs a variable amount of Stardust, with rarer catches being more expensive. You can reduce this Stardust cost by increasing your Friendship Level. Mythical Pokemon cannot be traded.

  • Once youve met all of these requirements, go to your Friends feed and select the Friend you wish to trade with.
  • Select the Trade option, wait for your Friend to do the same, then select a Pokemon to trade.

Its important to remember that Pokemon can only be traded once, and a Pokemons CP and HP will change when traded, so think carefully before you make a decision. You cant go back once its done!

So, there you have it. Everything you need to know about all the Pokemon trade evolutions in Pokemon Go!

How Do Candy Stardust And Friends Affect Trading

As we mentioned earlier, trading in Pokemon Go requires Stardust. However, the cost of this Stardust depends hugely on your friendship level. For example, a 1,000,000 Stardust cost for a Special Trade will drop down to just 800 Stardust if you and the other player are Best Friends. Initiating a trade with a friend only requires a Friendship Level of 1. Getting to the Best Friends level will take a time period of around 90 days. However, there are other levels before Best Friends, and these include the likes of Good, Great, and Ultra friends. While getting to Good Friends only takes 1 day, Ultra Friends needs a time period of 30 days.

You can increase your friendship level by carrying out activities like gifting your friends. To do so, join forces in Raids and Gyms among others. You can give 1 gift to a friend per day.

Additionally, you can increase the potential to earn more candy if there is a great distance between the Pokemon you catch. The limit for this distance is 100 KM.

And thats it. All you need are these simple steps and you will find yourself trading Pokemon with your friends in no time at all! As you can see, this process is extremely easy as long as you follow the right steps. As we mentioned earlier, make sure your trading partner and you are at a minimum distance of 100 meters, and you should be good to go!

And now that you know all about trading, take a look at our Pokemon Go Guides.

Notice that there’s no slot on that table for mythical? That’s because they can’t be traded at all! You’ve got to earn those Pokemon all by yourself.

The prices for non-registered Pokemon are insane, but there’s a massive discount for increasing your friendship level with a trading partner. The discount starts at 20% for Great but sharply increases to 92% when you hit the Ultra level.

This means that those 1,000,000 Stardust cost trades for Pokemon not in your Pokedex drop all the way down to 80,000 at the Ultra level.

How do you increase friendship in Pokemon Go? The friendship level goes up when you send a gift with that friend, or when you trade Pokemon, so it takes a good deal of Stardust to increase the level unless you want to frequently send gifts of Pokeballs and other consumables.

Here are the exact discounts provided at each Pokemon Go friendship level:

How To Increase Your Friendship Level

To increase your friendship level, you have to send gifts to each other. When the update launches, you’ll start receiving special gifts from spinning PokéStops, and can send these to your friends. You can’t open a gift yourself.

They’ll receive a few items and a postcard for the PokéStop’s location, and you’ll get a nice boost to your friendship level. In Pokémon GO, it pays to be nice!

Gifts can contain rarer items too, like Eggs, and different Pokémon forms like Alolan. They can also contain a special 7KM Egg that contains a Kanto Pokémon’s Alolan form.

How To Make Pokemon Go Friends

POKEMON GO – HOW TO TRADE POKEMON

The first step towards Pokemon Go trading is to actually become friends within the game. To do this, go to your Trainer section, and hit the Friends tab. From here, tap the “add Friend” button to bring up your Trainer Code. You’ll need to share this with anyone you want to be friends with in Pokemon Go, or grab the 12-digit Trainer Code number of any of your friends that play Pokemon Go and add them to your game.

When someone adds you to their Friends list, you’ll get a notification within the Friends tab. You can then just accept that request to become Pokemon Go friends.

What Is The Max Distance To Trade In Pokmon Go

The max Pokémon GO long-distance trade is 100 meters. That can be a bit hard to judge without a measuring meter. For U.S. players, that is roughly 300 feet or about 100 yards. That equates to the full length of an American Football field.

That means if you are trading with another player in your apartment complex or business building, you will not have an issue. However, if you wish to trade with another user who is across the globe, you will need a GPS spoofer.

In some rare cases, Niantic will suspend current trade distance Pokémon GO rules for players during an event. This is either something hosted by the company itself or a holiday like Christmas, Easter, or Halloween.
