How To Evolve Multiple Umbreons And Espeons
A second method of evolving Eevee into Umbreon and Espeon exists, and it’s surprisingly easy. Simply make Eevee your buddy Pokémon and walk 10km. You can then evolve your Eevee at night to unlock Umbreon, or during the day for Espeon. You can easily tell if it’s day or night by looking at the colour of your map or listening to the game’s music, but ensure that you have good signal before evolving – the game needs to know the time of day in your exact location and if your signal drops at the wrong moment, you’ll get a Vaporeon, Jolteon or Flareon no matter how far you’ve walked.
How To Evolve Eevee Into Espeon And Umbreon
Espeon and Umbreon do have a secondary means of securing their evolutions, though it takes a little more effort than a simple name change or purchasing a Lure Module.
This method is probably the most involved of all but if your heart is set then itll be worth it. For these Generation 2 evolutions, you have to set your Eevee as your buddy and have it walk with you for 10km in order to earn two candies .
Once thats done, you can evolve your Eevee, but the time of day shown in-game will determine which of the evolutions you get. Evolve Eevee during the day and youll get the Psychic-type Espeon. At night, on the other hand, youll get the Dark-type Umbreon.
This trick can be somewhat finicky, so do make sure that Eevee is still your buddy when you evolve it and ensure that you have GPS signal so that the game has the time of day absolutely right where you are. Fortunately, this isnt limited like the nicknames so you can do it as often as you like .

Pokemon Go Eevee Community Day Perks
Aside from the usual increase in spawns and the higher rate of finding a Shiny, this weekends Pokemon Go Eevee Community Day event will give trainers even more perks. From Friday, August 13 at 1 p.m. EDT to Monday, August 16 at 1 p.m. EDT, when Eevee evolves into its many evolutions they will learn an exclusive move. Below are the Pokemon-exclusive moves that will be learned during Community Day:
- Vaporeon: Scald
- Sylveon: Psyshock
- Eevee caught or hatched during this time will know Last Resort.
Also, evolving Sylveon will be much easier during the two-day event. More information on Sylveons evolution method is below, but obtaining the Fairy-type will only require seven friendship hearts instead of the usual 70.
How To Evolve Using Nicknames To Guarantee Your Choice Of Eevee Evolution
If you evolve an Eevee ‘raw’ by spending 25 candy, it’ll just evolve into one of the different available evolutions at random. However, you can actually force a specific evolution by renaming your Eevee of choice to a special nickname – and the whole thing began as an easter egg nod to a classic set of Eevee evolutions found in the Pokemon anime TV show.
So, basically, all you have to do is rename your Eevee to a specific name and then evolve it the regular way by spending 25 candy. Here are the names and the Eevee Evolutions:

An important note about this little cheat: it only works once per Eevee Evolution. How To Evolve Eevee Into Sylveon In Pokemon Go
Pokemon Go currently has Pokemon from several generations… and the most recent Eevee Evolution added to the game is Sylveon, a Pokemon added in generation 6. In the main Pokemon games, Sylveon evolves based off your Affection and Friendship stats, which maps to the Pokemon Buddy Feature that Pokemon Go has.
First of all, the nickname trick continues to work with Sylveon. To get it first, take an Eevee and rename it to Kira – then evolve it. The first time you do this, you’ll get a Sylveon. All of these work with the Flower Crown Eevee or Shiny Eevee – so you can use these tricks to get yourself a Shiny Sylveon or a Flower Crown Sylveon.
How To Evolve Eevee Into More Umbreon In Pokmon Go
Since the rename trick only works once, many players want to know if there is another way to evolve Eevee into more Umbreon. The answer is Yes! You can use a different method to get more Umbreon without spending 25 candies or using the rename trick.
In this case, youll have to make Eevee your friend and earn at least 2 Eevee candies. So, once you have checked these two points from the checklist, follow these steps to evolve Umbreon Pokémon GO.
Step 1: Walk with the buddy Eevee for at least 10km.
Step 2: While Eevee is still your buddy, hit evolve at night and youll get another Umbreon.
Keep in mind that its important to hit Evolve during night otherwise youll get Espeon instead of Umbreon. Since its a Dark Pokémon GO character, you can only get Umbreon during the night.

Itll be a game of chance, but with the low candy requirement trainers will have plenty of chances to get all three.
Pokemon Go Bug Makes It Much Easier To Evolve Eevee Into Espeon And Umbreon
A Pokemon Go bug has made it a lot easier for players to evolve their Eevee into an Umbreon or Espeon. Under normal circumstances, Pokemon Go players need to jump through a couple of hoops to evolve their Eevee. Either they have to activate a special lure, or earn Buddy Hearts, or walk their Eevee in order to get a desired evolution. But from now until this weekend, it will be a lot easier to evolve Eevee into Umbreon or Espeon. A bug in the game has made it so that Eevee no longer needs to be walked 10 KM to evolve into Umbreon or Espeon. Players still need to make the Eevee they want to evolve their Buddy Pokemon, but they can instantly evolve it instead of having to walk.
Trainers, an issue is causing there to be no walking requirement to evolve Eevee into Umbreon or Espeon, while it is your buddy. We will not implement a fix for this until August 16th, 10 AM PDT, after the upcoming Community Day event.

This “bug” should actually help a lot of Pokemon Go players out, as Umbreon is arguably the best Eevee evolution to use in most competitive Pokemon Go formats. In both Pokemon and Pokemon GO, Umbreon is a favored Eevee evolution due to its mysterious appearance and impressive defensive stats.
Getting an Umbreon in Pokemon GO is a little different compared to the original Pokemon series, but it doesn’t take too much effort within Niantic’s mobile game.

How To Get And Use The Glacial Lure & Mossy Lure To Get Glaceon And Leafeon
The final current Eeveelutions available in Pokemon Go are Glaceon and Leafeon, and this duo has the most specific evolution method yet.
First of all, don’t forget that you can do the name trick once again to get Glaceon and Leafeon for the first time. As detailed above, name your Eevee Rea to have it evolve to Glaceon, and name your Eevee Linnea to have it evolve to Leafeon. After that, however, you’ll need to fulfil special requirements to evolve more of these Pokemon.
Specifically, in order to evolve more Eevee into Glaceon or Leafeon, you’ll need some new items: the Glacial Lure and the Mossy Lure. These two new types of Lure Module are available in the shop and will soon be appearing as Field Research Rewards. These lures exist to make you more able to catch different Pokemon – the Glacial lures in Water and Ice type Pokemon, while the Mossy attracts Bug and Grass types.
There’s an added benefit to these, however: when they’re placed, they can impact Eevee Evolution. Simply place one of the lures in a Pokestop if you place the Mossy Lure you’ll be able to evolve any Eevee you have into Leafeon while standing in that Pokestop’s radius . If you place the Glacial Lure on a Pokestop, that’s when you’ll be able to evolve into Glaceon – just remain within the Pokestop’s radius. This works even if you didn’t place the lure, too, so you can share this chance with other players.
