Can You Trade Mythical Pokmon Like Mew
No. Mythical Pokémon, most of which are limited to one per account, cannot be traded at all. Of the Mythical Pokémon to be introduced to Pokémon Go, only one was not limited to a single Pokémon per account. Darkrai was part of Legendary Raids over Halloween, but Mew, Celebi, and Jirachi were all introduced as part of Special Research. Because every player can earn a single copy of these Mythical Pokémon, Niantic does not allow them to be traded.
What Is Pokmon Home

There is a Basic Plan that offers a limited number of features for free however, to get the most from Pokémon HOME, you’ll want to pay for the Premium Plan. It costs $3 for 30 days, $5 for 90 days, or $16 annually. You can purchase your preferred plan through the Nintendo eShop.
What Has Pokmon Go Said About Trading Pokmon
From Pokémon Go:
If youre near a friend and have a Trainer Level of 10 or higher, you can trade Pokémon youve caught with that friend. Completing a trade earns a bonus Candy for the Pokémon youve traded away, and that bonus can increase if the Pokémon you traded were caught in locations far apart from each other! All trades are powered by Stardust, and some trades require more Stardust than others. As you build your Friendship Level with the friend you are trading with, youll find that you can complete the trade with much less Stardust.
Certain Pokémon, such as a Legendary Pokémon, a Shiny Pokémon, or a Pokémon not currently in your Pokédex, require a Special Trade to complete, so keep that in mind before trading away that golden Magikarp! Special Trades can only occur once per day with a Great Friend or Best Friend, and it often requires a lot of Stardust to complete a Special Trade. Special Trades are a great way to show a friend how much you care!

Pokemon Go: Rules And Restrictions On Special Trades
In Pokemon GO, Special Trades constitute any trade between players involving Legendary Pokemon, shiny Pokemon, Pokemon purified from a shadow form, and Pokemon that have not yet been registered in a trainers Pokedex.
As previously stated, these trades can only be performed once per day, and they possess a higher cost in Stardust to complete. However, the higher the friendship level between two Pokemon GO trainers, the lower this increased Stardust price becomes.
Niantic has explained the reasoning behind this increased cost for special Pokemon and newer friends.
Suppose new players were able to traffic in Legendary or other rare Pokemon many times per day without a significant Stardust cost. In that case, a black market could be formed that would allow players to obtain incredibly powerful Pokemon early on at little to no cost, throwing off the balance of Pokemon GO significantly.
Niantic stated as much in a blog post in 2018:
We think that gating these trades behind a high Stardust requirement works to prevent exploitation and the creation of a black market, which would devalue the hard work of Trainers who have managed to encounter and catch rare or powerful Pokémon.
In addition to these limitations, there are certain trades that are banned outright in Pokemon GO, including:

Pokmon Go Disables Trading After Player Discovers Lucky Bug
On January 19th, a Pokémon GO player posted on Pokémon GO subreddit “The Silph Road”, showing off his latest discovery he had traded 100 Pokémon with a friend and they all turned “Lucky”.
“Lucky” is a rare, but much-desired type of buff in the game, which has about a 5% chance of happening during a trade, and gives the Pokémon higher IVs and makes it cost half the Stardust to powerup.
Unsurprisingly, this windfall was not what Niantic wanted to see, and they put trading on pause to investigate:
Trainers, trading is currently unavailable as we investigate an issue. We apologize for the inconvenience, and will continue to update here. Thank you for your patience. Niantic Support
There are a few things that can increase the rate of getting Lucky Pokémon in a trade, like owning a Pokémon for more than a year, or trading with a “Lucky Friend” a rare occurrence that guarantees your Pokémon will be lucky, with a 5% chance of happening when you interact with a Best Friend for the first time that day.
There was also a promotion that allowed players to get a 100% chance of a Lucky trade, but the circumstances were limited. It would only happen for Pokémon caught in the first two months of the game’s existence, July and August 2016, and the trainer sending the Pokémon must have done 10 or fewer trades. In short, it was aimed at lapsed players who had given up the game after the first frantic months of Pokémon GO’s success.

Why Purify Shadow Pokemon
There are a lot of reasons why youd want to Purify your Shadow Pokemon, and Reddit user ControvT compiled a list of them.
- IV levels in each stat will increase by 2, which is handy if youre trying to get a perfect Pokemon
- Level increases, up to level 25
- Learns Return, a 3-bar Normal-type move
- Candy cost for strengthening or evolving the Pokemon decreases by 10%
- Stardust cost for strengthening or teaching a secondary move decreases by 20%
Another reason to Purify is thanks to an update introduced on July 25. Along with decreasing Shadow Pokemon capture rates as mentioned, the update makes it impossible to trade Shadow Pokemon.
Purified Pokemon can be traded, though. Given the IV improvements Purifying offers, it means your chances of getting a perfect mon ultimately improve when you Purify, i.e. a 13/13/13 Shadow Pokemon would be perfect after Purification.

Exchange Gifts With Pokemon Go Friends To Increase Your Friendship Level
It’s not just a case of becoming Pokemon Go friends with someone though. There are actually levels of friendship within the game. You can increase you friendship level by trading together, battling in raids or Gym battles together, and also by exchanging gifts.
Every time you visit a PokeStop you’ll be in with a chance of receiving a special Gift. You can’t do anything with them yourself, but you can send them to anyone on your friends list. These gifts contain useful items like potions and PokeBalls, and even a special yellow and pink egg that will eventually hatch into an Alolan form Pokemon. Magic. You can only send one gift a day to each friend, but doing so builds your trainer level.
There are four levels of friendship that you can achieve with another player:
Good Friend Great Friend Ultra Friend Best Friend
The good news is you only need to be Good Friends with someone to start trading with them , and you can get there by giving each other one gift.
However, if you want to trade for Pokemon you haven’t already caught, you’ll have to upgrade your friendship level to at least Great Friends.
Increasing your friend level with another player gets you a tonne of perks. When you’re Great Friends or above, you can battle at Gyms or in Raids together, gaining attack bonuses and Raid bonuses. Those perks only increase as your friendship level rises too, so get gifting.
Whats The Difference Between Purified Pokmon And Pokmon I Catch
Purified Pokémon cost less candy to evolve and less dust to power up. They also know Return, a normal-type attack. While Return is OK on a normal-type Pokémon, its not super great on anything else and can be replaced.
Purified Pokémon also get IV boosts when powered up. Each stat goes up by two when purified, meaning if you catch a Shadow Pokémon with at least 13 Attack, Defense, and Stamina will turn into an 100% IV Pokémon.

- Finally, a Purified Pokemons level will increase the cap on this increase is level 25.
Thank you to ControvT from reddit for the help with this information.
Purified Pokémon will have a blue star next to them in your Pokémon storage.
Due to the Candy cost, its worth catching non-Shadow Pokémon as you play, so that you will be able to quickly purify Shadow Pokémon after you catch them. This will help you build up a strong collection of new Pokémon and level up your Purifier medal.
Below youll find a complete list of all the currently released Shadow Pokémon in Pokémon Go it will help you plan out your new catching regime!
So When Should You Purify
The above means your Shadow Pokemons CP is basically irrelevant. Youre not going to use them in battle and if you do purify it, it wont matter whether its CP is 20 or 600 as itll end up the same, regardless.
However, the IVs are important to look at. Shadow Pokemon are clearly an excellent opportunity to get high IV options, and if youre really lucky the coveted perfect IVs.
A quick calculation shows there is a one in 125 chance of, essentially, nabbing yourself a 100% IV when catching a Shadow species. Theres a one in five chance of getting a 13 IV or higher on each stat, which equates to one in 125 when you multiply them together.
So, if you find one with 13s or higher across the board then, unless its a Rattata, you should probably spend the Stardust and do it. There are other things to consider, though.

The Amount Of Stardust Needed To Trade In Pokemon Go
- Ultra Friend: 80,000
- Best Friend: 40,000
With that being said, waiting to become Best Friends in Pokemon GO with another Trainer will be the most beneficial way to get those good trades completed. The way to increase friendships in Pokémon GO is simple.
Just send and receive gifts with the other Trainer and battle together in Raids.
Battling in PVP battles will also help increase a Trainers friendship level in Pokemon GO. Although, the friendship level can only increase once per day, so checking it daily will be helpful.
Keep in mind that a Special Trade in Pokemon GO can only happen once per day. Lucky Trades is also a benefit when it comes to trading. Lucky Trades can be random, or if a Trainer becomes Lucky Friends with a Best friend, their next trade will result in a Lucky Pokémon in Pokemon GO.
Once a Lucky Trade is completed, the benefit of having a Lucky Pokemon is that a Pokemon GO Player can power up that Pokemon at half the cost. Therefore, if a Trainers Pokemon usually costs 5,000 stardust to power up, it will only cost the Trainer 2,500.
Should I Purify A Shiny Shadow Pokmon
Why would you purify? The most obvious reason to purify is get yourself a 100% IV Shiny Pokemon. Even nearly four years after Pokemon Go released, this is something many trainers are still searching for. While this is good for your collection and bragging rights, the reason behind is purely aesthetic.
