Transfers Between Pokmon Go And Pokmon Home Will Have A Cooldown Period

Yesterday, The Pokémon Company confirmedPokémon HOME would be made compatible with Pokémon GO before the end of the year.
Initially, there were some concerns. As originally spotted by Serebii, an official Pokémon Support article indicated PokéCoins would be required to transfer pocket monsters from the augmented reality mobile game to HOME. Fortunately, this wasn’t the whole picture.
The article was later updated to clarify, stating that the purpose of PokéCoins will apparently be to shorten a transfer cooldown period. In other words – you’ll need to spend PokéCoins to speed up the transfer process. Here’s the rundown, courtesy of Serebii on Twitter:
Serebii Update: The Pokémon Company Support page has put a new clarification about Pokémon GO to HOME transfer.After transferring, you will have a cooldown before you can transfer again. This cooldown can be shortened by paying PokéCoins Serebii.net
Once again, this update will arrive before the end of the year. When it does, trainers who transfer a monster from GO to HOME will receive a Mystery Gift for a special Melmetal which can Gigantamax.

What Games Are Compatible With Pokemon Home And How
Every main series Pokémon game is compatible with Pokémon HOME, but it may need to go through a bit of a process first.
For older games, that process involves Pokémon Bank, a storage app similar to Pokémon HOME that exists on the 3DS system, rather than Switch or mobile. For more on Pokémon Bank and how to use it, keep reading, or check out our in-depth guide.
Here’s the full list of all Pokémon games compatible with Pokémon HOME and the easiest way to get them there. For some of these, you’ll have to move Pokémon through multiple games, so if an instruction tells you to move Pokémon to another game, keep reading and following the instructions until the Pokémon reaches Pokémon HOME.
Transferring Pokmon From Go To Home
Once your accounts are linked, you can transfer Pokémon using the Go Transporter. To do this, go to your settings, select Pokémon Home, and hit Send Pokémon.
From here, you can select any of the Pokémon you want to move. Keep in mind that you cannot transfer hat- or costume-wearing Pokémon, as well as Shadow or Mega Evolved Pokémon.
You can only transfer a limited number of Pokemon, as the Go Transporter only has a certain amount of energy. The energy recharges over time, but you can also opt to spend 1,000 Pokécoins to fill it back up instantly. It takes a little bit less than one week to refill the Go Transporter when its completely empty.
Transferring a Shiny Pokémon or Mythical Pokémon costs about 1/4 of the bar, and transferring a Shiny Legendary Pokémon depletes the entire bar. Transferring a regular Legendary Pokémon costs less than 1/6 of the bar.
You can only transfer Legendary Pokémon to Sword and Shield if youve already obtained them in that game, so dont get your hopes up if youre just trying to quickly complete your Pokédex.
If the Pokémon has a higher combat power, it will also cost a bit more.

What Games Can I Transfer Pokmon From
As of this writing, you can only transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Bank, Pokémon: Lets Go, Eevee and Pikachu, and Pokémon Sword and Shield to Pokémon Home. Eventually, youll be able to transfer from Pokémon Go, but that feature is not available yet.
Note that moving Pokémon from Pokémon Bank and Pokémon Go to Pokémon Home is a one-way trip: After transferring to Pokémon Home, they cannot go back.
If you transfer Pokémon from Lets Go, Eevee and Pikachu to Sword and Shield, they cant go back to their original games, either. But you can move Pokémon from Lets Go, Eevee and Pikachu to Pokémon Home and then back to their original games.
Can I Use Pokmon Home To Transfer My Original Gen 1 And 2 Pokmon From Pokmon Red / Blue / Yellow / Gold / Silver / Crystal On Game Boy To Pokmon Sword And Shield
Unfortunately, no. The Pokémon you first caught two decades ago are forever trapped on those original Game Boy cartridges or on Pokémon Stadium. Of course, using various shady tactics and compromised hardware, enterprising Poké Trainers have been known to dump their original saves from the Game Boy carts, upload them to the 3DS Virtual Console versions of Pokémon Red and Blue, and then move those to Pokémon Bank, but we shall not delve into those dark arts here.
No, it seems that ‘Stinkypoo’ the Pikachu, ‘Wormy’ the Weedle and ‘Metapoo’ the Metapod will die on our Game Boy carts along with the battery. Probably for the best, to be honest.

Pokmon Go Integration With Pokmon Home Coming Soon

Plans for Pokémon GO integration with Pokémon HOME were announced back in February, and we know that youve been eagerly awaiting a status update on this feature. Were excited to announce that Pokémon GO integration with Pokémon HOME will be available later this year!
When this integration goes live, limited-time events will be happening in Pokémon GO, featuring particular Pokémon. In better news, players who transfer Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME will be rewarded with a Mystery Box in Pokémon GO that allows players to catch the Legendary Pokémon Meltan. Previously, the Mystery Box was a reward given to players for playing Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!. Players who transfer Pokémon from Pokémon GO and Pokémon HOME will also receive a Mystery Gift with a Gigantamax Melmetal.

What Games Are Compatible With Pokmon Home
Pokémon Home will be directly compatible with the following games:
- Pokémon Sword – Nintendo Switch
- Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu! – Nintendo Switch
- Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee! – Nintendo Switch
- Pokémon Bank – Nintendo 3DS
- Pokémon Go –
As shown in the above image, only Pokémon Sword and Shield will have the ability to both transfer and receive Pokémon from Pokémon Home. Other supported games, meanwhile, are a one-way trip.

Additionally, you can expect only supported Pokémon can be transferred to the relevant game. So you won’t be able to send anything post Gen 1 to Let’s Go Eevee! or Let’s Go Pikachu!, while Sword and Shield will only feature those featured in the regional Galar Pokédex.
Finally, it’s worth stating since Pokémon Home is compatible with Pokémon Bank, you can technically bring those supported mainline Pokémon games on Nintendo 3DS forward to Home.

Acquire Useful Mystery Gifts
Mystery Gifts are another special feature players might not know about Pokemon HOME. Its only available on the mobile version. With the Mystery Gifts feature, players can check for local events or use codes to obtain gifts. These gifts could be anything from a new starter Pokemon to a new Pokeball or an item that can be used in an existing Pokemon game.
When players receive and open their Mystery Gift, Pokemon HOME will tell them which game the gift is compatible with. But Mystery Gifts aren’t the only type of gifts that can be received. If players download patch 1.4.0., they can also receive two Pokemon for free when opening the Pokemon HOME app.
How Does The Pokmon Home App Work
Pokémon HOME is a free app that allows you to store Pokémon from across multiple Pokémon games, trade with others, and then transfer them into the most recent entries in the series: Pokémon Sword and Shield. The app is available on iOS and Android, and there is also a special version for the Nintendo Switch that lets you bring Pokémon into Sword and Shield.
Along with the free basic version, Pokémon HOME also has a paid Premium plan that gives users access to additional features. Free users cannot connect their apps with Pokémon Bank and are limited to 30 Pokémon stored at a time. Plus, free users can only place up to three Pokémon in the Wonder Box at a time and only one Pokémon in the GTS, and can participate in but not host Room Trades.
Paid Premium users can transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Bank, can store up to 6,000 Pokémon, put up to 10 Pokémon in the Wonder Box and three in the GTS at once, can participate in and host Room Trades, and can use the Judge function. If you’re trying to connect with other Pokémon games that aren’t on the Nintendo Switch or Pokemon Go, you’ll need to have that Premium plan.

When Will Go Come Home
Although annoying, it does make sense. The regular series of;Pokémon games have all been developed by Game Freak and follow the same formula.;Pokémon GO is something different entirely and likely requires a little more work to match up compatibility with Home and other;Pokémon games. The game is made by a different developer, is played on a different platform, and is ultimately a very different game.
As for when;Pokémon GO will link up with Home, right now that is anyone’s guess. It is listed as “coming soon” on Home‘s website but on the bright side, there has been no attempt to sweep it under the rug and forget it was ever mentioned. It is clearly being worked on and it makes sense that Home would be released without it for now. Trainers can gather up all their other;Pokémon and then add ones caught on GO when the time comes.

View The National Dex
Pokemon will be registered to the National Pokedex when you deposit them in the Boxes in Pokemon HOME. To view the national dex just select Pokedex on the Switch or Mobile App .
You can filter and sort in a variety of ways.
If you move a Pokemon that can Mega Evolve or Gigantamax, these forms will be registered. You can also use this to check out all the different Dex entries, across various games, in one convenient place. The mobile version of the app will allow you to check each Pokemon’s Abilities and the moves it can learn. This is available on both the Switch and mobile app.

All these years later, Mewtwo is still a terror built for battle. It has massive Special Attack and Speed stats, so it should your teams go-to attacker. It also has an extremely varied set of possible moves, meaning it can account for almost every situation. Give it a Psychic-type move of course , but also give it some fun surprises. As of today, Pokemon Go is now compatible with Pokemon Home. This is exciting news for Pokemon fans, because it greatly expands the number of monsters that can be transferred from Niantic’s popular mobile game to Pokemon Sword and Shield. It wouldn’t be Pokemon if there weren’t a lot of hoops to jump through, though, and Pokemon Go throws up quite a few barriers to getting your beloved Shiny Groudon over to the Nintendo Switch.

As of right now, if you want to complete a transfer from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Home, you need to fit the following requirements:
- You have to be Level 40 in Pokemon Go
- The “Go Transporter” item must have a sufficient amount of energy
- You must have already caught the Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield, so you can’t use Pokemon Go to fill your Pokedex
- Mega Evolutions, Shadow Pokemon, and unique costumes can’t be transferred
Those are some pretty onerous restrictions, making it effectively impossible to transfer your entire collection over to Pokemon Sword and Shield in one go. Indeed, as someone currently trapped at Level 32 in Pokemon Go, I’ve yet to be able to access the feature at all. Alas, poor Shiny Dragonite, you appear to be doomed to remain trapped in the purgatory of Alameda, California.
