Invitations are given to players who battle at EX eligible Gyms during a time of high traffic with some small bit of luck on top. Otherwise, invitations can be shared between Ultra and Best Friends. If you have a high-level friend who gets one, they can invite you to the EX Raid as well. The last EX Raid Boss was Regigigas, the leader of the Regi Titans Trio however, Niantic has currently suspended EX Raids in the interests of public health concerns.

What Is A Raid Battle

During a Raid Battle, Trainers from all teams can band together to take down a particularly difficult Boss Pokemon of 20,000 CP or more at a Gym.

Raids are very similar to gym battles with the key difference being the fact that you’re fighting one super-powered Pokemon that can be caught at the end of the battle. If your Pokemon party is wiped out, you can bring in a new party or revive the downed team.

Multiple groups consisting of up to 20 people cooperate to battle the Raid Boss. If successful within the time limit, players will get a chance to capture the powerful Raid Boss and receive Items rewarded only by completing Raid Battles.

Raid Cycles: How Often Do They Happen And Reset

Raid Battles in Pokémon Go have two types of cycles, the time between new spawns and the variety of Pokémon that appear.

It takes one hour for an egg to hatch when it appears above a Gym. When it does hatch, trainers will only have 45 minutes to catch the boss Pokémon. When one Raid Battle ends, that Gym will not have another spawn for a few hours, but another Gym nearby will begin the hour-long countdown.

As for what Pokémon appear in Raid Battles, those normally changed with every new event or update. In April, the Kanto event focused on Gen 1 Pokémon, so trainers could find some of the original 150 in Raid Battles.Be sure to check the official Pokémon Go for news on upcoming updates and events. Also, the Silph Road subreddit is a great tool for discovering when Pokémon Go changes Raid Battles, what hatches from eggs and everything else about the popular mobile game.

Should You Dodge During A Raid Battle Whats The Best Strategy

In a perfect battle you want to fire off as many charge moves from each Pokémon as you can before they faint and leave the battle.

If you have tons of people playing at once or youre worried about running out of time, dont bother dodging just charge and fire those big moves!

If you have fewer people or are worried about running out of Pokémon, dodge the charge moves whenever you can but dont stop firing!

How Team Go Rocket Invasions And Team Rocket Battles Work In Pokmon Go

Interacting with Team Rocket PokéStops works as follows:

  • Team Go Rocket will invade a PokéStop for 30 minutes at a time.
  • Approach the PokéStop, and you’ll be able to battle the Grunt by tapping them in a Trainer Battle.
  • If you defeat the Team Rocket Grunt’s team of Shadow Pokémon, the Grunt will abandon one of them.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to catch this Shadow Pokémon.
  • If caught, you get to keep the Shadow Pokémon, and can then Purify them.
  • Battling Team Go Rocket is similar to Trainer Battles, and each Team Go Rocket Grunt will be assigned a Pokémon type. You’ll know this ahead of time in their choice of dialogue. For example:

    • “These waters are treacherous!” – Water-type encounter
    • “Do you know how hot Pokemon fire breath can get?” – Fire-type encounter
    • “Don’t tangle with us!” – Grass-type encounter

Meanwhile, catching Shadow Pokémon works in a similar way to Raids, with a limited number of Premier Balls at your disposal for you to use.

Which Pokmon To Use In An Azelf Mesprit Or Uxie Raid In Pokmon Go

Pokemon Go Raid Battles explained as Niantics Gym update limits are ...

As Psychic-type Pokémon, Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf arevulnerable to Bug-, Ghost-, and Dark-typeattacks. When choosing six Pokémon for your Raid Battle lineup, it helps to choosePokémon that have a Bug-, Ghost-, or Dark-type Fast Attack and Charged Attackif you want to deal as much damage as possible. APokémon that shares a type with these attacks will benefit from a same-typeattack bonus, which will allow these attacks to deal an additional 20% damage.

Remember that speed of victoryaffects how many Premier Balls you will receive after a successful Raid Battle,so be sure to bring your strongest Pokémon team and battle with as many otherTrainers as you can to defeat Uxie, Mesprit, or Azelf as quickly as possible.

Everything Else You Need To Know About Raid Battles

    • Though you can only receive one free Raid Pass per day, you can technically spend two, with one carrying over from a previous day.
    • Anecdotal evidence and our own experiences suggest the bosses you catch have a higher chance of strong IVs than those you catch normally, much like those you hatch from Eggs.
    • That said, the stats of the bosses you catch aren’t the same for every player. Someone could catch a Wonder, but someone else could get something with lower IVs, for example.
    • Different raid bosses have different capture rates, according to The Silph Road Reddit, with Snorlax, Lapras and Rhydon at just 5%, and Legendaries at just 2%. Premier Balls, meanwhile, have the same low capture rate as regular PokéBalls. Good luck!
    • It’s also apparently possible to catch a Shiny from a Raid Boss.
    • Raids appear to only take place during daylight hours local time, with the current times looking between 8am to 9pm. This also means any new Raids being introduced to the game will happen one day later in the UK than the US due to timezone differences, so bear that in mind with any announcements.
    • Someplayers are recommending your restart the app before Raiding to help with lag issues, with claims it can make the difference between success and failure.

How To Win Raids In Pokmon Go

Here is a step-by-step breakdown of how Raid encounters work:

    1) When a Raid is about to happen, an Egg will appear at the Gym with a countdown .

    2) After it hatches, the Gym will turn into a Raid, you will have one hour until the Boss disappears. Up to 20 players can form a group, though you can venture in with just a few of you if you like.

    3) After spending a Raid Pass you will wait in a lobby, in which time you can change your team and other players can match make with you. You have to defeat the boss within five minutes. Like regular Gym fights, you can take six creatures in with you. If you aren’t successful, you can retreat and use Potions and Revives on your team and try again as many times as you like until the hour is up without spending another pass.

    4) If you are successful, you’ll receive rewards and a chance to catch the creature using Premier Balls.

    5) When the hour is up, all creatures originally assigned will return and the Gym will resume it’s prior state.

What Are Raid Battles Like How Do You Fight

Raid Battles are mechanically the same as any Gym battle:

  • Tap to use your Pokémons Fast Attack.
  • Touch and hold to use your Pokémons Charge Attack once the bar is full.
  • Swipe left or right to dodge Boss attacks.
  • Right now Raid Battles are glitchy, so its not uncommon for you to fire a Charge Attack, see your charge bar empty, see it refill, then see it empty again.

Likewise, its not uncommon for you to dodge, take damage anyway, then see the damage disappear.

Pokémon Gos servers simply arent keeping up with all the action right now so things look weird but hopefully thatll be fixed soon.
