A Niantic ID will be a user’s primary identity across the publisher’s full library of games. This allows users to carry over their profile information and Friends Lists from game-to-game. This will also presumably include any future Niantic titles. The best way to reserve an ID is to visit the Niantic ID reservation page. From there, a user will be instructed to sign in using Apple, Facebook, or Google.
There’s good reason to jump on this sooner than later. First, this is a limited time offer. The reservation window for usernames will only be open until November 26, at which point the opportunity to reserve usernames closes. The other reason is that once a Niantic ID is taken, it’s gone. If a username is already claimed or if a Niantic ID does not follow the company’s guidelines, an error message will appear.

Niantic increased the rate at which it banned users for cheating at Pokémon Go in early August. Then, on August 18, it explained that it was doing so to provide a fair, fun, and legitimate game experience for everyone.
Players can be banned from Pokémon Go for anywhere from an hour to forever. Some of the more common bans come from using GPS spoofers to catch Pokémon in hard-to-reach locations.
But fret not: There are ways to easily level up Pokémon or lazily play Pokémon Go without having to resort to ban-worthy offenses.

Accidental Account Deletion Is Impossible
Thanks to a recent update, players can now start the Pokemon Go account deletion process from inside the app. Whereas before, players would need to submit a request from players via the Niantic help center.
While the in-game process only has one confirmation screen, Reddit user GabeBit08 pointed out there was a second step required to fully delete ones account. An email verification requires players to respond with a special code.
This ensures that players cant accidentally delete their account with a few misplaced taps. And this level of safety earned Niantic the praise from concerned players.
Everyone with a child who sometimes plays on their account is very glad for this feature, one user commented. Another stated, This is comforting. I really disliked the idea of this new feature because of the stress of accidentally deleting an account Good to know thats not really possible.

If you wish to select a Niantic ID thats different from your existing in-game username, there is no need to use this system. You will have the opportunity to select a different username for your Niantic ID in the future.
The other thing to note is that Niantic IDs won’t go into effect right away. According to the FAQ, the Niantic ID will be integrated into games over the next 6-12 months.

Basically, if you log into Pokemon Go through your Google account on an iPhone — which is the first option provided — it gives “full access” to your account. According to Google’s help page, that should only be “granted to applications you fully trust.”
