Getting Shedinja In Pokmon Go

HOW TO GET SHEDINJA IN POKEMON GO! NEW POKEMON GO UPDATE NEWS!

Unlike in the main series games, this Pokémon does not appear when Nincadas evolve. In fact, they cannot be found anywhere in the wild, even places where Bug types normally appear like parks. Instead, players will have a chance encounter with one after completing a research breakthrough, which is obtained after completing 7 research tasks. Be mindful though that this breakthrough does not last forever, so Shedinja can only be caught during a designated time of the year. Currently, research tasks that will help find them can be spun from Pokéstops out in the world during October 2020.

Pokémon GO is available on iOS and Android

Is There A Way To Get Shedinja In Sword And Shield

There are two ways you can get Shedinja in Pokemon Sword and Shield. While it is possible for a Raid Shedinja to spawn, this can be a lot more difficult than simply catching a Nincada and evolving it yourself. Down below, weve provided details on how you can do this easily. Time needed: 35 minutes.

How many nincada do you need to get Shedinja?

In order to receive a Shedinja when Nincada evolves, youll need an open spot in your party. This means you can only have five or less Pokémon with you, including Nincada. Have a spare Poké Ball . Certain versions of the game require you to have at least one spare Poké Ball in your inventory.

Evolution And The Subsequent Split

As Pokemon Sword and Shield players inch closer to level 20 with their Nincadas, they must first follow a crucial step before commencing the evolution. Players must first remove a party Pokemon to create a free and empty sixth slot.

Once the slot is opened, Pokemon Sword and Shield players are free to hit level 20 with Nincada, and watch the ensuing evolution gleefully. As expected, Nincata will turn into Ninjask. But once they check their previously empty slot, they will now see Shedinja kicking back and relaxing.

Is It Better Not To Evolve Your Pokemon

How To Get Shedinja In Pokemon Go 2020

The evolved form of a Pokemon has better stats than its earlier forms. The majority of Pokemon which evolve using a stone wont learn any moves when evolved, so you dont want to evolve those Pokemon until theyve learned all their possible moves. Evolving them earlier will really, really limit their usefulness.

Where To Find Nincada In Pokmon Sword & Shield

Nincadas habit of burying itself underground and rarely coming out is reflected in its Sword and Shield spawn patterns. It only has three places where it spawns, and even then its mostly weather-dependent. As a Ground-type, Nincada loves a good sandstorm. So waiting for that weather in the Wild Area is your best bet of finding one.

The one place where Nincada can spawn in all weather is Route 5. However, it will only spawn as a random tall grass encounter, and even then with only a 5% chance.

In the Wild Area, Nincada can spawn at either South Lake Miloch or West Lake Axewell. In both places it will be a random tall grass spawn. Youll never see one walking around in the wild. At South Lake Miloch, it can spawn during Intense Sun with a 10% chance or a sandstorm with 40% chance. At Wild Lake Axewell, theres a 30% chance one will spawn during a Sandstorm. You can also find one in Max Raid Battles in the Bridge Field, Dappled Grove, and Rolling Fields areas.

Why Is Ash Greninja Banned

Ash-Greninja will not be allowed in the upcoming 2018 Pokémon VGC Championships. This is partly due to the fact that it is a gimmick Pokémon that was given away as part of a promotion. The other reason is due to its sheer power. In its completed form, it can rival the power of Mega Evolved Pokémon.

Shedinja Moves And Stats

Shedinja has a Max CP of 421, mostly due to its low HP in the main series of games. More specifically, Shedinja has 1 HP in the main series of games, due to its ability Wonder Guard. Wonder Guard, like we briefly covered in our Spiritomb guide, only allows super-effective moves to deal damage to it, and is immune to all other moves. Pokemon Go lacks abilities and other complexities within the main series Pokemon battle system, so it must be adjusted for the less intuitive format. Here are Shedinja’s moves:

HOW TO GET NINCADA AND SHINY CATERPIE IN POKEMON GO!

Nincadas evolution into Shedinja if you can even call it that is very peculiar but doesnt require any particular location, stone, time of day, or movement to achieve.

Once Nincada is in your team, and youre setting out with the purpose of evolving it into Shedinja, you must make sure that there is a space in your team. This means that your Pokémon team can only have a maximum of five members.

To achieve this, simply open your box and move a Pokémon from your team into a blank space within your box. If you catch a Pokémon in the meantime, be sure to put it into a box so that the empty space isnt filled when Nincada hits level 20.

When Nincada reaches level 20, it will evolve. On your screen, youll see Nincada go through the evolution animation, but in Pokémon Sword and Shield, you will then see a Ninjask Nincadas primary evolution.

But dont despair: simply go into your Pokémon team and you will find a Shedinja sitting in what was the empty team slot. Shedinja is said to be the ghost-inhabited shell of a Pokémon quite possibly Shedinjas shell if the Pokémon undergoes some form of metamorphosis en route to evolving into Ninjask.

There you have it: your Nincada just evolved into a Shedinja. You now have a bug-ghost type Pokémon which, if up against a foe that doesnt have any of Shedinjas five weaknesses sitting on in its move list, can attack without fear of taking damage.

How To Evolve Nincada To Ninjask And Get Shedinja

Nincadas evolution is a two-for-one special. It evolves to Ninjask by reaching level 20. When it does so, a Shedinja will also appear in the players party, referencing the act of Nincada leaving a husk behind as it grows. However, the player must have an empty space in their party and at least one Poké Ball in their bag or they wont get the Shedinja.

Ninjask can also spawn on its own in the Wild Area. Players can often find it flying around the Rolling Fields. It can also appear at slightly higher levels in the Stony Wilderness. Finally, Ninjask can appear in Max Raid Battles at the Bridge Field, Dappled Grove, and Rolling Fields. Shedinja can appear in Max Raid Battles at the Bridge Field, Rolling Fields, and South Lake Miloch.

As of writing, Shedinja cannot currently be captured in Pokemon GO. However, Shedinja was previously available through research breakthroughs during the Halloween event in 2020.

As for the ways that Niantic could incorporate ways to get Shedinja in the future, there are a few ways they could do this:

  • Seasonal Evolution – Shedinja could be an evolution exclusive to the autumn season
  • Random Evolution – Much like how Eevee evolves, Nincada could evolve to be either Ninjask or Shedinja. This evolution could be dictated with a certain nickname.
  • Spawn after Evolution – After the player evolves their Nincada, a Shedinja could spawn nearby
  • Let the player choose – A simple option. Let the player choose what they want to evolve their Nincada into.

Nincada is available, but is Shedinja?

Image via Niantic

Shedinja is a problematic Pokémon to acquire in Pokémon Go. There are a handful of rare opportunities to catch it, and many might believe its possible during the current Bug-Out 2020 even because Bug-type Pokémon are everywhere in the game. You can capture Shedinjas basic Pokémon form, Nincada, in a particular way. With Nincada available for a limited time, is Shedinja available? Unfortunately, it is not because the Pokémon works differently than it does from the standard Pokémon games.

Nincada is available for you to capture on Friday and Saturday by using the item incense. You wont be able to catch it by completing research tasks, participating in any of the available raids in the game, or by wandering around to search for it. Click on the incense icon ion your bag to use the item, but instead of its standard green color, it will be orange. The orange hue means its attracting a particular Pokémon, and that will be Nincada.

Pve Offensive Moves Explanation

Without its ability, Shedinja won’t deliver more than a few fast attacks. Still, here’s how its moves stack up.

  • Shadow Claw + Aerial Ace is the highest in neutral DPS. If you’re a Pokemon that can only use a Fast Move or two, at least it’s Shadow Claw.
  • Shadow Claw + Shadow Sneak is a pair SE against both Psychic and Ghost type Pokemon.
  • Bug Bite + Aerial Ace are both SE against Grass. This set is likely also optimal for gym clearing, as Normal type defenders will resist Shadow Claw.
  • All of Shedinjas charged moves are pretty bad. Dig has the least utility among them.
  • Legacy moves Bite and Struggle Bug are both worse than their non-legacy alternatives.

Two Pokemon For The Price Of One

Finding where you can catch a Nincada can be quite tricky in Pokemon Briliant Diamond and Shinning Pearl. Finding a Nincada isnt as easy as going into the nearest patch of tall grass, but why would you want a Nincada. Unlike Absol, it doesnt have a high attack. Nincada does however evolve into two very strong Pokemon, Ninjask and Shedinja. Ninjask has the highest speed out of all the non-legendary Pokemon in Brilliant Diamond and Shinning Pearl and Shedinja has the Wonder Guard ability. Lets go over where you can find Nincada first.

Why You Want Shedinja In Pokemon Sword & Shield

Pokémon Go players get Shedinja in upcoming bug

Shedinjas headline feature is its Wonder Guard ability. This prevents it from taking damage from any attack used against it, unless it is super effective.

This essentially means you can smash through any opponent that stands in your way, unless they happen to have Pokemon with Fire, Flying, Rock, Dark, or Ghost-type moves. Shedinja does also have a base HP stat of 1, so it is incredibly weak once it is hit by a move.

Thats everything you need to know about how to get Shedinja in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Check out our guide wiki for more tips and tricks on the games.

Obtaining And Leveling Nincada

Before Pokemon Sword and Shield players can obtain Shedinja, they must first capture Nincada. The best way to do this is to travel along Route 5, where players have a 5% chance at encountering Nincada randomly. If players possess an aversion to Route 5, they can also make their way to the Wild Area, when during a sandstorm around West Lake Axewell or South Lake Miloch they have a chance of encountering Nincada.

After taking the time and finally capturing Nincada, Pokemon Sword and Shield players can proceed to play the game and level Nincada up as they would any of their other Pokemon, and for the less patient among Pokemon Sword and Shield players, XP candies may also be utilized. Players just need to make they stop right before level 20.

Pokmon Sword & Shield: How To Find & Evolve Nincada Into Ninjask/shedinja

Are you a fan of Bug-type Pokémon? Well good on you for sticking with one of the notoriously weaker Pokémon types. While the type has come a long way since first generation, its still known for being intentionally weak. Bugs are early game Pokémon through and through, designed to evolve fast and peak early. Nincada doesnt really challenge this stereotype, but its evolutions do provide some fun ways to surprise opponents in battle.

Nincada is clearly based on a cicada. Strangely, its also based on ninja. This could have to do with the way Nincada buries itself underground and rarely comes out, hiding like a ninja. Its evolution Ninjask is a fully matured cicada that also carries the ninja theme, presumably due to its blinding speed. Finally, Shedinja adds an etherial element to the family. It still keeps the cicada theme by being a shed insect husk, and the ninja theme by acting like the dummy left behind by escaping ninja for distraction. But the dead husk comes to life as a Ghost-type Pokémon, with a halo above its head to signify its odd existence.
