A gifts contents are apparently determined at the time of opening, so you can only get rare candy once the hourly bonus has been activated.

Daily Limit On How Many Gifts You Can Collect From Pokestops

Is there a limit for how many gifts you can collect from pokestops?I have over 100 friends and it seems like there is a limit how many gifts I can collect from pokestops. For the last 100 pokestops I have not received any gifts?

Im not talking about the limit on 10 gifts in your inventory or the limit on opening 20 gifts received.I collect ten gifts. Send them to friends. Collect another ten. Send them. Etc. But when I was around 100 gifts sent I didnt get anymore gifts at the pokestops. Just unluck or a limit?

The reddit community has been experiencing this as well. Aside from the reddit thread, I was unable to find any other articles that is talking about this.

Despite there being an appearance of receiving gifts from Pokéstops being capped at 100 per day, I have confirmed there is no daily limit. I reached out to Niantic’s support team and below is a response I received earlier today.

Good question!

There are no limits to the number of gifts you can get from a Pokéstop per day.

However, you will be able to open only 20 Gifts per day.

The addition of Trading / Friends / Gifts to Pokemon Go has added an extra level of play to the game. These are my thoughts on how to optimize friendship and gift sending and opening.

My starting assumptions:

List Of Items That Drop From Pokmon Go Gifts

Below is a list of items you can receive when opening a gift in Pokémon GO. Weve recorded all of the following gift item drops at Good Friends level:

We also discovered the following mechanics behind Pokémon GOs gift system:

• Gift rewards are distributed in bundles and you always get at least two bundles, the biggest we got is 3 bundles + an Alolan egg
• As far as weve observed, you can get the Alolan egg as your third bundle
• You will not get any Alolan Eggs if you dont have a free slot in your Pokémon Egg Inventory
• The UI will display item drops combined if it can: for example, if you get two bundles of Max Revives , the UI will display only one drop that says x4 Max Revives
• Opening a gift increases both you and your friends friendship level, so sending and receiving gifts is a process that benefits everyone
• Gifts do not take up space in your items bag
• Removing and re-adding a friend will not remove friendship progress
• You can receive and open up to 20 Gifts per day

The gift system makes it super easy to stock up on important items, as it perfectly accompanies the regular PokéStop grind. Be aware that Niantic has set a limitation to this feature and you cant open as many gifts as youd like: you can ONLY open up to 20 gifts per day.

How To Send And Open Gifts In Pokemon Go

Once you’ve found a Gift at a PokeStop, you’ll want to send it to your Friend. You’ll get XP for doing so that will count towards your Friendship level with that person, and they’ll get a handful of items. Just head into the Friends Tab located in the Trainer menu and click on the friend you want to send a Gift to. You’ll see the option to send a Gift, though you can only send one per day.

If you’ve been sent a Gift by a friend, a red dot notification will appear over your Trainer Icon. Click it to open your Gift and claim your rewards. You’ll get a postcard when you open it, showing where the Gift was picked up.

When you have a friend, go to their profile on your friends list. At the bottom left there is an option to send a gift. Unlike the Exchange, you dont have to be close to each other in order to send gifts.

Your friend will receive a notification when they receive it, and they can open it and view its content. Please note that you can only send one gift to each friend per day.

How to open a gift in Pokémon GO

Opening a gift is even easier. The game will notify you during the game at the top of the screen, and if you have one pending, a red dot will appear over your coachs notification at the bottom left of the screen.

Then go to your friends list and you will instantly know which friends have a gift for you. Select it and you can open it directly.

Pokemon Go‘s recent update added a way for players to track which of their friends they’ve interacted with for the day in order to increase their friendship levels.
