How Do I Raise Friendship
You can raise friendship once per day by sending and opening gifts, raiding together, trading Pokémon, battling in a gym together, or battling each other.
Note that you can only raise your friendship level one time every day, so if youre trying to maximize your gifts or save time, you should make sure you havent raised your friendship already that day. You can check this by looking at the friends portrait on the friend screen. If there is a light blue halo glowing around the friends circle, that means your friendship has already been raised that day. Note that this isnt to be confused with the flat circle behind the player, which is just an indicator of what team theyre on.
Other Information You Need To Know About Lucky Pokmon
There are other small details you should know about Lucky Pokémon :
- Lucky Pokémon have high IVs, starting on 12/12/12 for HP, Defense and Attack. This means that you can make a less powerful Pokémon a very competitive creature!
- There seems to be no limit on the amount of Lucky Pokémon you can get in one day. Originally, it was thought that there was, but according to Silph Road, the limit was removed or the information was incorrect.
- Searching Lucky in your Pokémon collection will reveal your creatures
- Lucky Pokémon can also be Shiny, Shadow and Purified.

Every Pokémon Go trainer needs friends. Whether its to help with raids or trade Pokémon, friendship shouldnt be ignored.
When adding a friend in Pokémon Go, there are four levels: Good, Great, Ultra, and Best. Raising friendship every day will improve this level over time. The higher your friendship is with somebody, the better. Youll be able to trade Pokémon for less Stardust, do more damage if you raid together, and even get a bonus Premier Ball or two when you complete a raid.
Special trades that feature Legendary or Shiny Pokémon that arent yet in your Pokédex can cost up to 1,000,000 Stardust to trade, so players should get their friendship levels up before trading. The cost lowers to 800,000 for Great Friends, 80,000 for Ultra Friends, and 40,000 for Best Friends.

How To Get Lucky Pokmon In Pokmon Go
Lucky Pokémon come from the game’s trading feature. When you trade, there’s a chance both creatures will have the Lucky status afterwards.
The success rate isn’t yet known, but the longer the Pokémon has been in storage – in other words, the longer you’ve owned the Pokémon – the higher the chances of it becoming Lucky by the end of it.
So if the Pokémon are from when the game launched in 2016, your chances of them being Lucky will be much higher than if they were caught this year.

If they are caught at different periods, it’s suspected the game will take the average age of both creatures in the trade as the calculation, as either both will or won’t be Lucky together.
That’s not to say a freshly caught Pokémon can’t be Lucky – members of the community have been successful with trading recent catches. But the older it is the better, and since you can only trade one of a specific Pokémon, you want those chances to be as high as possible.

The Pokémon itself doesn’t have a different color, like Shiny Pokémon do, but they do have a special advantage:
It seems that Lucky Pokémon require less Stardust to power up, which means they can reach a higher CP much faster than other Pokémon. Plus, a Lucky Pokémon can be detected by the Pokédex, so you can keep track of them!
More precisely, it seems like Lucky Pokémon only require half the Stardust and Candy to power up as a regular Pokémon, making them much more efficient to power up.
How To Get Guaranteed Lucky Pokmon In Pokmon Go
In September 2018, developer Niantic made some changes to increase your chances of receiving Lucky Pokémon.
If you have discovered less than 10 Lucky Pokémon, then a Pokémon in your inventory caught in July or August 2016 will 100% become Lucky after a trade.
To clarify, if either trainer has had less than 10, then both creatures in the trade will be Lucky. So in theory, even if you have more than 10, if you can find others with less than 10, you can keep getting guaranteed Lucky Pokémon. Thanks to the Silph Road reddit for clarifying this!
It should also be noted as part of this change, all Lucky Pokémon stats have became now stronger. They were previously started from around the 10/10/10 mark, and it’s now increased to 12/12/12 .

Fastest: Battle In Raids And Gyms
The final way to increase your friend level quickly is to join together to battle in gyms and raids. Once per day, if you work together you can get a boost to your friend level with each person you are in a Raid or gym battle with. Of course, they have to be your friends to start with, so use your QR code to become friends before you battle.
Obviously, this only works with friends you are close to locally but it has the advantage that it works in bulk. If six or your friends are in a raid with you then all 6 of those friends will receive a boost to their friend level. This means you can work together en masse to reach Ultra friend status and get to battling remotely from the comfort of your couch.
What Are Lucky Pokemon In Pokemon Go
So what are lucky Pokemon? They’re similar but different to shiny Pokemon while shiny Pokemon look different, lucky Pokemon are identified by gold circles around the Pokemon on the list view. When you click on them, the background is gold and sparkly, compared to the usual type-specific background.
When you have a lucky Pokemon, you get a couple of benefits. The first is that the stardust cost to power it up is reduced by 50%, so if you have a strong PvP Pokemon that becomes lucky, you’re in luck. Pun intended.
The other possible benefit is that a lucky Pokemon’s IV will always be a minimum of 12/12/12. This means that you could trade a 0 IV Pokemon and potentially gain a 100 IV Pokemon in return. On the contrary, you’re risking a lot if you trade a 98 IV Pokemon, because there’s a high chance it will come out with lower stats than it went in with.

Probability Of Getting Lucky Pokemon May Be 1/10
This is the probability that has been tested as of time of writing.
There is no clear data on the probability of getting Lucky Pokemon by trading, but , it has been tested that youll roughly get a Lucky Pokemon in 1 out of 10 trades. Since there is no assurance of this, its best to keep trading the one Pokemon you want to be Lucky.
Chances Of Getting Lucky Pokemon Dont Go Down
Even if you keep trading with the same person, your chances of getting a Lucky Pokemon wont go down. You can keep trading with one friend until you get a Lucky Pokemon!
Friendship Level Has No Known Influence
No matter your friendship level with the trainer youre trading with, it has no known effect on giving you Lucky Pokemon.

In Pokemon Go, friendship isn’t just a simple list of players you’ve added – it’s a changing, growing list, with different levels of friendship depending on how much time you’ve spent doing things with another player. By sending gifts, playing through Pokemon raid encounter battles and trading Pokemon, players can ‘level up’ their friendship, with the top tier being ‘Best Friends’.
Lucky Friends are basically a temporary buff to your friendship status. Once you’re best friends with someone, you’ll have a chance to be temporarily made each other’s ‘special friend’ each time you perform a friendship-based act with them. That means each time you trade Pokemon, open gifts from each other, team up in raid battles or gym encounters, or even have a one-on-one trainer battle. Each time will give you a chance this will happen, and when it does Pokemon Go will make a big song and dance about it, notifying you that you’re now lucky friends.
Once you are Lucky Friends, the buff is simple: the first trade you make with that player is guaranteed to create a Lucky Pokemon. Lucky Pokemon are buffed Pokemon that have cheaper stat upgrades and generally better performance across the board, so this is well worthwhile.
How Do I Trigger Lucky Friends
How do you become Lucky Friends? Once you become Best Friends, you will have a chance to become Lucky Friends! You will have this chance once per day when you and your Best Friend trade Pokémon, open a Gift from each other, team up in raids and Gym battles, or challenge each other to a Trainer Battle.

How Do I Get A Lucky Friend
Once youre Best Friends with another player, anything that would normally raise your friendship levels will have a chance to turn you both into Lucky Friends. This means that your next trade with that player will turn both traded Pokémon into Lucky Pokémon.
Lucky Pokémon have their power up Stardust cost cut in half, so its pretty nice to have one of your big Pokémon Lucky. But beware IVs shift around quite a bit when you trade them, so the high IV Kyogres you might want to swap with your Lucky Friend may end up being a little weaker than before. That said, Lucky Pokémon are guaranteed to have at least 12 in all three main stats, which means an 80% IV or higher.
Getting to Best Friends with other players will take several months of daily friendship raising, but the payoff is worth it. In addition to the bonuses mentioned above, you also get heaping amounts of XP every time your friendship with another player ranks up. Its frequently advised to pop Lucky Eggs before hitting Ultra or Best Friends to double that XP. With a Lucky Egg, reaching Best Friends with a single player rewards a whopping 200,000 XP.
Stardust Cost Reduction To Power Up
Its also important to recall that lucky Pokémon are also a great way to reduce the amount of stardustyou need to spend in order to power up a Pokémon. In fact, its split in half, which is very good news for trainers with less resources or newcomers.
You might think that IVs are overrated and so on, and perhaps youre right. Most Pokémon wont lose any particular breakpoint if they have an ATK IV of 14 or 13. All in all, its situational. However, for those trainers who want to power up the best Pokémon, getting a 13/12/14 out of a lucky trade would be a disappointment. Imagine that you spend 50 raid passes to get only one shiny Rayquaza, then it takes you around 60 interactions with a specific person to become Lucky Friends, and when you do the lucky trade you end up getting that 13/12/14 shiny Rayquaza. That would be a bit of a letdown, wouldnt it?

Its a curious one, this Frienship Day event in Pokemon GO. Most notably, its a three-hour event, which we havent seen since Niantic extended Community Day in response to COVID-19 and related lockdowns. And its something of an adjustment: those six-hour events are a lot more forgiving, and one forgets how quickly three hours can fly by.
Regardless, there are a bunch of bonuses here with the event, which you can read about here. But the central mechanic revolves around lucky trades, and thats probably going to be the most interesting thing here for high-level players: a well-placed lucky Pokemon can save you a ton of candy and stardust. A lucky Pokemon can only be acquired through trading, and it costs half as much to level up as a regular Pokemon.
So if youre looking for luckies, youll want to spend as much of the day as you can trading with your friends: the best way to go is probably going to be powerful, non-legendary Pokemon that you either want to boost up with high levels and extra moves or that you still need to evolve. And its going to be a little easier to trade with your friends, because the trading distance is extended to 40km.
