How To Mega Evolve In Pokmon Go
As of August 27, 2020, PokémonGo has introduced Mega Evolutions to its basic game mechanics. The concept of Mega Evolution was first introduced in PokémonX & Y in the main game series and has since then expanded into other games, including the mobile sensation. In the main series games, you needed a specific Mega Stone to Mega evolve a Pokémon, but PoGo doesnt have such stones, so how do you actually do it? PokémonGo uses a slightly different system for Mega evolving Pokémon. Instead of Mega Stones, each Pokémonthat has a Mega evolution has Mega Energy and as soon as you collect enough, you will be able to Mega evolve your Pokémon.

It is a fantasy franchise set in a world where humans live together with creatures called Pokémon, who take on different shapes and sizes. - You cannot mega evolve shadow or clone Pokémon
- You can mega evolve purified Pokémon, but they wont have a swirly white aura when mega evolved
- You cannot use a mega evolved Pokémon to defend a gym
- Mega Pokémon cant be used in the GO Battle League

Does Mega Evolution Wear Off Pokemon Go
The transformation does not last forever. Your Pokémon’s Mega Evolution goes away after eight hours. It has a timer that you can view in the general menu where it shows its stats. When that timer hits zero, the Pokémon returns to its standard form, and you need to participate in other Mega Raids to earn more.
Pokmon Go: Mega Battle Challenge Event Timed Researched Quests
There are four steps to complete the Challenge. These are the following Mega Battle Challenge Timed Research quests that are available until September 17.
1/4:
- Catch seven Bug-type Pokémon
- Power Up Pokémon seven times
- Rewards:: three revives, five Poké Balls, one upgrade, 35 Beedrill Mega Energy, 500 Stardust, 1000 XP.
2/4:
- Battle in a Mega Raid
- Battle another Trainer
- Rewards: three Revives, three Golden Razz Berries, one Sinnoh Stone, 40 Beedrill Mega Energy, 1000 Stardust, 2000 experience point.s
3/4:
- Battle three Team Go Rocket Grunts
- Mega Evolve a Pokémon
- Rewards: Pinsir encounter, five Revives, three Silver Pinap berries, 60 Beedrill Mega Energy, 1000 Stardust, 2000 experience points.
- Claim Reward!
- Claim Reward!
- Rewards: 10 Poké Balls, three Max Revives, three Hyper Potions, Roserade encounter, 2500 Stardust, 5000 experience points.
This is a perfect way to give all the players enough Mega Energy to earn a free Mega Beedrill evolution!

Which Mega Evolutions Are Currently Available In Pokmon Go
While a number of Mega Evolutions have released in Pokémon Go, they are not all available at the same time. This means that, if you wish to complete your Mega Pokédex, you need to keep a close eye on exactly which Mega Pokémon are currently appearing in Mega Raids. If not, you risk having to wait for their reappearance.
Throughout the Season of Heritage, there will only be one Mega Evolution available in Mega Raids at one specific time. This makes it the perfect opportunity to focus on gathering candy for that evolution and adding new entries to your Mega Pokédex.

Can Costume Pokmon Mega Evolve In Pokmon Go

Players in Pokémon Go have a mixed relationship when it comes to Pokémon in costumes. On the one hand, theyre cute and different from the original forms. Theyre a great Pokémon to use during specific events. On the other hand, Niantic has made a majority of them for the starting evolution, and players cannot evolve them into any of their later forms. For example, if you were to capture a Squirtle wearing sunglasses, it wouldnt be able to evolve, and itd always be that Squirtle wearing sunglasses. With some Pokémon capable of Mega Evolving and the evolution only lasting a few hours, does the same rule apply?
For those who capture a Gengar wearing a costume, you can rest easy. A Pokémon wearing a costume in its final will still be able to Mega Evolve. So if you happen to catch Gengar wearing the Mega Banette costume during the Halloween 2020 event, you can Mega Evolve it into Mega Gengar and freely use it.
Feel free to capture the final evolution of any event Pokémon, especially if you want to use it later. Not only will it continue to wear that same costume, but you can Mega Evolve it whenever you want to raid with your friends or walk around with a Mega Venasaur behind you. The Mega Pokémon does not carry the costume over, though. So you wont see a Mega Gengar wearing the odd costume, but when it returns to its standard form, the unique costume will remain there.

How To Get Mega Energy Without Raids In Pokemon Go
The most efficient way to earn Mega Energy is to defeat mega-evolved Pokemon in Raid Battles. Of course, its also the most challenging method. Since you cant use a mega-evolved Pokemon in Raid Battles, the fight is somewhat unbalanced. Thankfully, there are other methods of earning Mega Energy that doesnt require you to battle.
One of them is walking with your Pokemon buddy. However, this method only works if youve previously mega-evolved the same Pokemon species. So, to earn Mega Candy from walking with Bulbasaur, you need to have a Venusaur in your Pokedex already.
If you havent mega-evolved any Pokemon yet or wish to collect Mega Energy for a different Pokemon species, you could complete research tasks.
The tasks change regularly with new Events, and not every task gives you Mega Energy. Most of them will only earn you Stardust, Poke Balls, Razz Berries, or other more common items. At the time of writing this article, the following research tasks are active and will earn you Mega Energy:
How To Mega Evolve Charizard In Pokemon Go
Mega Evolution was first introduced to Pokemon in the Nintendo 3DS series debut games, Pokemon X and Y. The pool of Mega Evolve-capable Pokemon was relatively small, but one of the cool twists was that a few Pokemon had version-exclusive Mega forms. How Many Trainers Are Needed
Mega Beedrill can be defeated with two trainers, but if you cannot guarantee the top counters with maxed-out CP and the best moves, your best bet is to make sure you have three or more players.
Using the Circle Lock Technique to guarantee Great or Excellent throws, along with Golden Razz Berries, is the best way to catch Pokémon. However, I personally suggest trying Pinap Berries for the first few throws, as you can multiply the already increased number of Candies that an evolved Pokémon like this will yield.

How To Mega Evolve Your Pokmon
Before you can even think about mega evolving a Pokémon youll need to be sure its one that can use the feature. Currently only non-shadow and non-clone Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard along with Beedrill and Pidgeot can do so but more will be added in the future. You can always tell which can use the boost based on the mega raids youve seen or participated in. These are the key to gaining the new Mega Energy, which is required to mega evolve.
Once you have that sorted out you just need to get some of that Mega Energy. Take on mega raids or complete special research to get more of the precious resource. Once you have enough you can mega evolve any of the available Pokémon simply by selecting the option on its profile. This will massively boost its power, but only for a limited time, which you can see right on the profile page as well.
After that its just about using them where theyre most effective. Raids, gyms, and Team GO Rocket battles are the most effective, especially if you have friends joining in the first two or need some help completing the Rocket boss battles. Just keep in mind the time limited nature of the mega evolution form and how rare Mega Energy might become down the road. But thats how to mega evolve in Pokémon GO.
