Pokémon GO introduces new creatures all the time, but these ones are different. Meltan and Melmetal, just introduced on Friday, are something different. Theyre not just new Pokémon for Pokémon GO, theyre new Pokémon period: brand-new character designs meant as a cross-promotion for Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee, a set of new games just released for the Nintendo Switch. As far as cross-promotion goes, its a no-brainer: a unique Pokémon tied to a new Pokémon game just sort of makes sense.
And yet the idea also raises the ever-present issue of pay-to-win for free-to-play games. At first, it seemed like Niantic had engineered Meltans introduction to Pokémon GO carefully to avoid the appearance of gating one of its creatures behind a $60 game and a $299 console. Thats the idea behind the special research it introduced on the same day Pokémon Lets Go came out: it was a new, special creature, but you could still get it if you completed a reasonably difficult quest line. Which works for Meltan, but raises a thorny issue for its evolution, Melmetal.
You can get the mystery box by linking to a friends copy of Lets Go, but its an imperfect solution: you would need to go on your local Pokémon GO social media group to find a willing stranger if you dont know someone directly, and not everyone wants to do that. And youll need to do it multiple times to get the full evolution.
What Is The Best Level To Evolve Pikachu
As we all know by now, there is only one way to evolve Pikachu in the main games and most other games as well. Pikachu does not evolve by leveling up or via some other statistical value, it evolves exclusively via the Thunder Stone. So, in order to evolve your Pikachu, you first have to have a Pikachu on your roster. Then, you need to obtain a Thunder Stone and use it on your Pikachu. This can be done on any level, as there are no level-based limitations when evolutionary stones are concerned.

So, seeing how Pikachu doesnt evolve by leveling up, but via an evolutionary stone, one might think that you can evolve Pikachu at just about any moment of your journey, right? Well, although that is theoretically correct, as you are able to do it, there is a tactical approach to the games that advises you to evolve Pikachu after it learns a specific movie.
The move we are talking about is Thunderbolt, a very powerful Electric-type move that Pikachu should definitely know before you evolve it, as it wont learn it after it has been evolved. So, when does Pikachu learn Thunderbolt? It depends on the game!
In Lets Go, Pikachu and Lets Go, Eevee!, the recent Generation I remakes, Pikachu learns Thunderbolt at Level 21.
In Omega Ruby and Alpha Saphhire, Pikachu learns Thunderbolt at Level 42.
In Black and White, as well as Black 2 and White 2, Pikachu learns Thunderbolt at Level 29.
How To Evolve Meltan In Pokemon Go
Meltan evolves pretty simply. You just need 400 Meltan Candy, which is easier said than done. You have to get the Candies the usual ways: catching Meltan, sending it to Willow or just having it walk around as your buddy.

You also get Meltan Candy when you send Meltans to Lets Go Pikachu or Eevee.
Meltans evolution, Melmetal, is a Steel type Pokemon with abnormally high CP. As a Steel type, it resists most others and is vulnerable only to Fighting, Fire and Ground type moves.
According to a Pokemon Home leak, Melmetal will apparently have a Gigantamax form in Sword/Shield. It is currently unknown how to obtain this form, or if it has anything to do with Pokemon Go.

The Pokémon Let’s Go games are the grand debut of the Pokémon series not only on the Switch, but on any home console – other than all the various spin-off games, of course. Anybody else remember Pokémon Snap on the N64?
The Let’s Go! games hark back to one of the oldest Pokémon games, bringing the spirit of the Game Boy’s Pokémon Yellow up to the modern day by having your choice of Pikachu or Eevee follow you around on the game map.
Your relationship with Pikachu or Eeevee is different to that with any other Pokémon: not only do they sit on you while you travel through the game, but they automatically have a stronger bond, will learn special techniques, and can have their fur styled and be dressed up in various outfits.
There’s one thing they can’t do though: evolve.
Yep, that’s right, just like in Pokémon Yellow, you can’t evolve your chosen critter at all. Normally, Pikachu evolves into Raichu, and Eevee can be evolved into Flareon, Jolteon, or Vaporeon, depending on which elemental evolution stone you use.
If you try that in Pokémon Let’s Go though, you won’t have much luck. Use an appropriate evolution stone on your Pikachu or Eevee and the game will tell you that it doesn’t like it, refusing to evolve – just like Pikachu did in the cartoons way back when. That means you’re stuck with the cute, unevolved form whether you like it or not .
Can You Still Get Raichu Flareon Jolteon And Vaporeon
Fear not, it’s easy to get any of the evolved Pokémon anyway. Not only can you get them from trading, but you can also catch both Pikachu and Eevee in the wild, and these wild forms of the Pokémon can be evolved just as you normally would.
You’ll just have to get hold of the appropriate evolution stone – either in the wild, or from the department store in Celadon City – and use it on the regular Eevee or Pikachu to force it to evolve just as you’d expect it to.

How To Get Alolan Raichu In Pokmon Go
Its different than the standard Pokémon.
The Pokémon you encounter in Pokémon Go come and go throughout the many events and seasonal challenges. Its hard to keep track of nearly 600 Pokémon and remembering where they come from. For those on the hunt for Alolan Raichu, this one is an obvious answer, but it makes it even more difficult to locate. You cannot evolve a Pikachu into an Alolan Raichu, dispute the Alolan Pokémon being the evolved form of the Electric-type Pokémon mascot. Instead, the only way to encounter and find this Pokémon is to find it at one of the raids, beat it in a battle, and then capture it at the end. The Pokémon does have a chance to be a shiny version.
If youre trying to find an Alolan Raichu in the wild, that doesnt work either. When Alolan Raichu was initially released to Pokémon Go, Niantic made it strictly a raid Pokémon. Its similar to many of the other Alolan or Galarian Pokémon that have appeared in the game, such as Galarian Stunfisk, Galarian Zigzagoon, or Alolan Exeggutor.
The only way to catch Alolan Raichu is to capture it in a raid. You can access these raids using raid passes, and you regularly find Alolan Raichu appearing in several events. This Pokémon rotates out of these events pretty frequently, so you may have to wait a few months for it appears again.

How To Catch Meltan
The key to getting a Meltan in Lets Go involves connecting the games to Pokemon Go. As previously mentioned, you can link the mobile title to Lets Go via Bluetooth and transfer any Gen 1 Pokemon youve captured there over to the Switch games. To begin a transfer, simply speak to the receptionist at the front desk of the Go Park and follow the on-screen prompts. This is a one-way process any Pokemon you send from Go to Lets Go cant be returned to the mobile game. However, youll need to complete at least one transfer in order to catch Meltan, as sending a Pokemon to Lets Go will reward you with a special item in Go: the Mystery Box.
The Mystery Box is the key to summoning Meltan in Pokemon Go. Once opened, the Mythical Pokemon will begin appearing in the wild for a limited time, and youll be able to capture it just as you would any other monster. However, youll need to act quickly to catch as many as you can the Mystery Box only remains open for 30 minutes, and youll need to wait a full seven days before you can activate it again by transferring another Pokemon.
