Pokemon Go Oshawott Community Day: Start & End Time Rewards And Getting A Shiny Oshawott
It’s that time of month again – when we all grab our phones and participate in a new Pokemon Go Community Day event. The September 2021 community day is all about Oshawott – an appropriately cheeky choice for the first community event of the season of mischief.
To be clear on the event timing, the September 2021 community day takes place on Sunday September 19th 2021, between the hours of 11am and 5pm local time. This event is focused on water-type Unova region starter Pokemon Oshawott – and you’ll be able to catch plenty of them, including shinies, and evolve some of the caught Oshawott into Dewott and its final form, Samurott.
As well as an increased spawn rate for Oshawott, players that participate in the community day will be able to enjoy other typical bonus rewards including improved incense and lures, additional XP, photobombs when taking pictures, a unique research story, and an exclusive move for the Oshawott family of Pokemon.
We explain the Oshawott day timings, all of the community day rewards and how to make the most of them right on this page, plus give you a little community day primer.
Pokemon Go Community Day events explained
There’s an incentive to get involved in the form of great rewards. Community day events are typically focused on a specific Pokemon, increasing its spawn rate and making its shiny form more common, plus other associated rewards.
Hatching Xp Or Stardust Boosts
Niantic adds one last perk into the Community Day package:
- A 3x increase for XP gained from catching a Pokémon, or
- A 3x increase fo Stardust gained from catching a Pokémon, or
- A 4x increase for Egg hatching speed
These perks stack with rate increasing items So consider stocking up Lucky Eggs, Star Pieces and Super Incubators, to further boost their respective perks.

Increased Odds Of Encountering A Shiny Version Of The Featured Pokmon
Image: Niantic / The Pokémon Company
Driving fans mad with anticipation and frustration in equal measure, the featured Pokémon is a lot more likely to be shiny when it spawns during Community Day. In the wider context of the Pokémon series, GO actually presents one of the most time-efficient and least tedious ways of catching Shiny Pokémon. Lucky players can net several shiny versions during the event but theres always the chance that youll come away empty handed.
One key piece of advice for newcomers Shiny Pokémon do not appear Shiny on the Pokémon GO map. You have to tap on them and enter catching mode to see if they are shiny or not.
How Do I Make The Most Of Duskull Community Day
Any Stardustgained from catching Pokémon will be tripled, so if youre going to be out catching a lot of Pokémon, you should consider using aStar Piece to boost that Stardust even further. Incense used during the event will also last a whopping three hours, so you should use one to increase your Duskull spawns further.

What Is Community Day In Pokmon Go
Community Day takes place on one weekend day every month and lasts a total of six hours.
As well as increasing spawns of the highlighted Pokémon, there are bonuses during that period of time – such as double XP, Stardust or Lure Modules – as additional incentives to get out there and playing, including the highlighted Pokémon having an increased chance of being shiny, and the ability to reach the highlighted Pokémon’s evolution an exclusive move.
It’s a great way to get resources and a rare version of the highlighted Pokémon, but it’s as the name suggests, is a great way to team up with other players.
You may find other Pokémon Go players will be out and about with you, which might make it easier to co-ordinate completing Raids or doing Trades, so keep that in mind during the period.
Pokemon Go Gible Community Day: Everything You Need To Know
Pokemon Go‘s latest Community Day is here, with players finally getting their opportunity to collect the Dragon/Ground-type Pokemon Gible. Gible has a two-step evolution that culminates in the Pokemon becoming Garchomp, a “psuedo-Legendary” Pokemon. As with past Community Day events, today’s festivities start at 11 AM and will feature plenty of Gible spawning all around your area. Any Gabite evolved into a Garchomp during the event learns the Ground-type move Earth Power, which makes Garchomp one of the most effective Ground-type attackers to use in raids in the game.

Community Day events have a heightened Shiny rate for the featured Pokémon, so if youre playing, you should be able to find several Shiny Oshawott.
If you dont have time to play all day, you can find a Shiny Oshawott by popping an Incense, and tapping each Oshawott that pops up. The Shiny rate on Community Days is approximately 1 in 25, according to The Silph Roads research, so you should find a Shiny Oshawott quickly.

Pokmon Go Live Events
Since its release in 2016, multiple real-life events and gatherings based on the mobile gamePokémon Go have been held by its developer Niantic Labs outside of unofficial player gatherings. Typically, the events involve increased in-game rewards for participating players and are often held in cooperation with local organizations or governments.
The common repeating events are the Pokémon Go Fest held annually, the Pokémon Go Safari Zone which has been held in multiple countries, and the monthly “Community Day” events. Player counts for the larger events range from thousands up to two million players in one event. Due to large concentrations of players all using their mobile phones in such events, the large gatherings have resulted in incidents and network disruptions, which have resulted in a lawsuit against Niantic.
Pokémon Go live events earned $249 million in tourism revenue during 2019.

Ordinarily, Community Day takes place on the weekend and has one featured Pokemon that appears everywhere for a three-hour period. That’s on top of raid and Egg bonuses along with extra bonuses like double catch Stardust, double catch XP, and double hatch progress on Eggs placed in Incubators during the event.
Pokemon Go Community Day is a great time to walk around your local parks and towns and join other Pokemon Go players out for some fun. Plenty of raids will go down and there’s a real sense of community about the place. If you’ve never taken part in one before, give it a shot!

Pokemon Go Community Day: What You Choose To Be Steps And Rewards
Its Eevee Community Day once again, another two-day long celebration of the little fox of many evolutions, all of which are currently available in Pokemon GO. And like with other Community Days, weve got a little research story in the shop for those that want some bonuses and a little structure to their day. It wont be available until Community Day starts in any given place, but those of us a bit further west can get a preview due to the magic of time zones.
A note: the Delta Variant continues to grow more dangerous in the United States and elsewhere, a problem made thornier by the fact that Niantic reverted the interaction distance bonus it instituted during the earliest days of the Pandemic. If youre playing, be safe. If youre not vaccinated and are eligible, then go get vaccinated. Its free and doesnt take very long.
So lets take a look at the steps and rewards here. These come to us from Leek Duck, always an excellent source for Pokemon GO information:
- Power up Pokemon 10 times 15 Pinap Berries
- Catch 15 Eevee Eevee Encounter
- Make 7 nice throws 50 Eevee Candies
Step Rewards: 2000 Stardust, 15 Pokeballs, 1 Incense
Huge Trade Distance Boost
This might be the most exciting part of the event, at least for me personally. You probably already know that, traditionally, you must be stood right next to another Pokemon Go player to trade with them. Well from this evening until January 18 you will be able to trade Pokemon with your friends even if they are up to 40km away. Yes, 40 kilometres. Thats 24 miles. Essentially youll be able to trade across your town or city, making it much easier to evolve a Machoke into a Machamp if you dont have enough candy. Please make this a permanent feature, Niantic

Everything Else You Need To Know About The Machop Community Day In Pokemon Go
The other bonuses you should know about the Machop community day are as you would expect. Players can earn 3x Stardust during the event, Incense will last for three hours during the event, and of course, theres a big Machop Community Day Box available for purchase which will cost 1,280 PokeCoins and contain the following items:
- Elite Chagred TM
- Star Piece x4
- Ultra Ball x4
Not the best use of the coins, in my opinion. You dont even get new incubators. A massive shame. But hey, that trade distance bonus is pretty exciting, right?
Community Day Event Shiny Odds
A lot of our readers are wondering what is the chance to encounter a shiny Pokemon during the Community Day events. The chance is roughly 1 in every 25 spawns, or around 4%. The chance was observed to be the same during Pikachu and Dratini Community day events.
Full credits for these numbers go to redditor /u/chflorian who collected data from local and online groups and calculated the following numbers for the Dratini event :
- average amount of catches: 134
- average amount of shinies: 5
- total amount of recorded catches: 186252
- total amount of recorded shinies: 7526
- average shiny rate:
- 5 / 134 = 3.73%
- 7526 / 186252 = 4.04%
/u/Dozo1971 has confirmed these numbers in his local community by running a survey with 56 participants and observing the same results.
Be aware that these odds and numbers do not guarantee that you will encounter a shiny Community Day Pokémon every 25 encounters. These numbers illustrate an average chance to encounter it, rather than explaining phenomena like back to back shiny or long streaks of non-shiny encounters.
