It is not currently possible to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME directly, although the feature is coming before the end of 2020. We’ll update this guide when it launches.

The Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon HOME supports connectivity with the Nintendo Switch games Pokémon Sword, Pokémon Shield, Pokémon: Lets Go, Pikachu!, and Pokémon: Lets Go, Eevee!

Both the Nintendo Switch version and mobile device version of Pokémon HOME support connectivity with the Nintendo 3DS software Pokémon Bank.

There are plans to support Pokémon GO in the future as well.

Now that we have Pokémon HOME and our Nintendo account linked, its time to complete the process by also linking our Pokémon GO account to Home. But how do you do it?

The process is very simple. Lets go step by step:

• Open Pokémon GO and tap the Pokéball button and
• Select Options, which appears in the upper right.
• Scroll down to the bottom and select Pokémon HOME in Options
• Select Login
• Log in with your Nintendo Account and accept the conditions by reading everything to avoid making mistakes.

Once the Pokémon GO app is linked with your Nintendo Account, it will always be linked unless you unlink it from this same screen. Check that your username and user ID are the same as your Pokémon GO account. Is that so? Then you have everything ready. Its not like that? Click Exit and log in again.

Linking to the Nintendo Switch games will not take the Pokédex data from the game, but it will after you import the Pokémon. It will not register Gigantamax variants unless you send a Gigantamax-able Pokémon to Home.

At the time of writing, it seems like the mobile version registers the Pokémon into the Pokédex slowly, so you might have to wait before all the entries fill in on your phone.

Pokmon Go To Home Limitations Gigantamax Melmetal And Mystery Box Rewards And Other Things To Know About Transferring From Go To Home

There are a few other things to bear in mind when transferring Pokémon from Go to Home.

• The first time you do so, you’ll recieve a Gigantamax Melmetal as a reward! You can claim it via the Mystery Gift function on the mobile version of Home only.

• Not all Pokémon can be transferred from Go to Home. Specifically, you can’t transfer Spinda, Kyurem Black/White, any Shadow or Mega Evolved Pokémon, or any of the special event Pokémon that have an altered appearance, like Armoured Mewtwo, Party Hat Pikachu or the Flower Crown Eeveelutions.
• Pokémon with different forms in Go will default to a specific form in Home . Specifically this will alter forms to:
• Castform Sunny/Rainy/Snowy – Castform Normal
• Meloetta Pirouette – Meloetta Aria
• Genesect Burn/Chill/Douse/Shock – Genesect Normal
• Certain Pokémon require you to have caught them or registered them in your Pokédex first, in order for you to transfer them from Home to Sword and Shield. In brief, these are all of the legendaries/mythicals catachable in Sword and Shield via Dynamax Adventures, plus Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Victini and Genesect. What You Need To Know Before Transferring Pokmon

There are some limitations when it comes to transferring Pokémon.

First, you have to use GO Transporter’s in-game item. This item uses something called GO Transporter Energy. Each Pokémon uses different amounts of energy, and the rarer the Pokémon, the more energy it’ll need. For instance, a shiny legendary Pokémon uses most of the GO Transporter energy, so you won’t be able to transfer two or more at the same time.

Fortunately, the GO Transporter energy gets fully recharged after a few days. You don’t need to go out and recharge it for yourself, but you can use PokeCoins to charge it right away.

It’s also worth noting that you can’t transfer all your Pokémon GO Pokémon. Some special Pokémon like shadow Pokémon or special event Pokémon with celebratory attire can’t be transferred. Also, you can’t transfer a Pokémon that’s marked as favorite or that you’re using as your buddybut you could change your buddy, and you’ll be good to go.

Speaking of Pokémon you can’t transfer you can’t transfer back your Pokémon from Pokémon HOME to Pokémon GO. You need to be entirely sure you want to move them, since there’s no undo.
