Valuable: 1995 Rare Charmander

You have to see this Charmander Rare Card Plus I talk about life

As soon as you get to the 1st gen starters, collectors begin making some money. It’s interesting that most Pokémon like Venusaur and Blastoise make an average amount of money, yet when it comes to Charmander and Charizard, the value practically doubles!

Worth around $1999, this 1995 rare Charmander card is in wonderful condition, is a 1st edition, and is surprisingly valuable, especially since they seem to be for sale everywhere ranging from $50-$2000!

Reverse Holographic Legendary Collection

When reverse holographics first entered the Pokemon scene, kids couldn’t handle how amazing the alternate design was. The reverse holographic version of Charizard from the 2002 Legendary Collection set added a whole new layer of cool to the already popular Base Set design of the beloved Fire-type starter from the Kanto region.

Its highest selling price for a PSA 10 graded version of the card went for a solid $6,500, which may sound like a lot of money but doesn’t come close to everything else ahead of it on this list. That may seem like a lot of money, but in terms of Charizard card value, it’s on the middle-to-low end.

What Kind Of Pokemon Does A Charmander Have

Unsurprisingly, Charmander is a Fire-type Pokémon. There are 16 different Pokémon types as of Generation VI, with the types defining the properties of a Pokémon. A Water-type Pokémon would generally do very well against a Fire-type, while a Fire-type such as Charmander would do well against a Grass-type.

Valuable: Pikachu On The Ball

The Pikachu on the Ball card is an incredibly rare one indeed. Not only was it never made available in packs, but it was only ever given to members of the English FA’s Pokemon Youth Futsal Program. Even then, people had to go out of their way to request a copy.

Its rarity alone makes it a highly desirable card, but it’s also coveted for its powerful moveset. With a 50% chance of dealing 120 damage, its Lightning Shot attack is incredibly overpowered for a basic card. It’s for this reason that the once free card has sold for more than $1,000 on multiple occasions in the past.

Trainer cards are extremely rare. They were awarded to three winners at the Pokémon tournament in Japan in 1997. It is believed that only four copies of each card were given to each of the winners. The front of the cards has a picture of Pikachu holding a gold, silver, or bronze trophy. In Japanese, it says, The Pokémon Card Game Official Tournaments champion/runner-up winner/third place winner is recognized here, and the honor is praised. By presenting this card, you may gain preferential entry into the Pokémon Card Game Official Tournament.

Card Condition Is Important

The condition of your Pokémon cards is a vital part of whether they have any value. Collectors arent interested in ripped, stained, or otherwise defaced cards, and such wear can severely tank a cards value even if it is a rare one.

Youve probably heard of mint condition cards before. If youre wondering whether or not a card qualifies as mint, youll need to get it graded by a PSA representative. Your card could be worth more if you have its condition officially graded.

Pokemon Cards Value – How To Tell What Your Pokemon Cards Are Worth! (Prices Outdated)

Average Value in PSA 10: $23,224

As the de facto face of Pokémon, much has been said of the iconic 1st Edition Holographic Charizard. Maybe its the spectacular artwork. Maybe its because Charizard has been a popular, powerful character since the inception of the franchise. Whatever the case may be, the card that has been likened to the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card of the Pokémon realm is, without a doubt, the most desirable of the set. In PSA 10, the card has sold for as high as $40k and regularly commands values in the $20k range.

If there is no logo on the right side, its Base. Every other set has an indicator.

When looking into what set a card belongs to, make sure to see if there is any logo on the right side, just underneath and to the right of the illustration. If there is no symbol, the likelihood is that its a Base set card.

Squirtle is the first evolution of Blastoise and carries the 2nd most value of any of the big three pre-evolutions. Rare Mcdonald’s Pokemon Misprints

As with most any other set of Pokemon TCG cards, misprints and error cards tend to be both the rarest and most valuable cards on the third-party reselling market. One McDonald’s customer sold an error Pikachu card just last week for about $500. While the holographic cards in the 2021 McDonald’s promotional set are the ones fans have been on the lookout for, this one, in particular, was non-holographic, showing just how much some collectors value error cards.

It is also worth noting that a misprint holographic Squirtle card from the 2021 McDonald’s Pokemon 25th anniversary set is also making the rounds on eBay at the moment. Listed for $45 by user michigangirltreasures, this holographic Squirtle misprint shows that the Squirtle on the error card has supposedly been printed with much more of a green color than when compared side-by-side to what looks like a normal holographic Squirtle card. Although it is rather hard to tell, it does seem like only the Squirtle on the card is discolored, giving it a lot more value.

Pokemon Tcg In The News

Recent months have seen YouTubers, influencers, Twitch streamers, and even average fans going all-out on purchasing Pokemon cards, spending upwards of thousands of dollars for Pokemon Trading Card Game booster boxes, and in some cases, just as much for a single card. The monster-catching franchise’s 25th anniversary has brought along with it a virtual concert with Post Malone, new game announcements, and a plethora of commemorative merchandise, but by far the most viral part of the celebration has been Pokemon‘s collaboration with McDonald’s.

Mcdonalds Pokemon Cards Price Update 02/21/21

Prices of full boxes have started to come down, with a recent auction ending for $550. Complete master sets can be picked up for around the $200 mark now.

What was the most expensive card, Holo Pikachu, now has multiple auctions that have dropped below the $30 mark. The trio of Squirtle, Charmander and Bulbasaur all now have auctions that have dipped below $10 and most of the other holo starters have dropped below $5.

It looks like the mad rush may now be coming to an end!

What Cards Are Available

The cards that are available are all reprints from previous sets. They include the 24 different starters from across every game, plus fan-favourite Pikachu. Although they are reprints, they contain a special 25th-anniversary logo and McDonalds own holographic foil.

The full list of Pokemon is as follows:Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Mudkip, Torchic, Treecko, Chimchar, Piplup, Turtwig, Oshawott, Snivy, Tepig, Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Litten, Popplio, Rowlet, Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble.

As mentioned, there are 25 different cards available in two different formats holographic and non-holographic.

Not All Cards Are Worth Something

Top 5 charmander pokemon card arts

Its worth noting that your average Pokémon collection wont make you rich. Most cards in recent sets arent worth more than $1, and even the rare ones often arent worth more than $10. However, there still is value in the older cards the ones that have been sitting around in self storage for years. Base set cards can be surprisingly valuable, and if youre lucky enough to have a first edition holographic card, you could be set up for a pretty penny.

If youre looking to maximize your return, use sites like pokemonprices.com or eBay to do research, checking each individual card of uncommon rarity or higher. Blindly selling your collection without doing the legwork on Pokémon card value could end up selling yourself short and giving a collector a great deal.

Pokemon Card Sold By Country

With no surprise, 62.19% of Pokemon cards were sold from the United States and Japan coming in second with 19.62%. Canada came in third with 7.71% of total cards sold.

Country
$44,579.17 $68.27

For the bigger countries like Japan, the United States, Canada and Australiait kind of got interesting.

The United States sold the most at $44,579.17 but only had an average of $66.46. This is less than the total average sold.

Japan and Australia had higher averages at $93.73 and $89.17 respectively.

Canadas average was on the lower side at $55.53. Canadians seem to be selling their cards but arent selling valuable pokemon cards.

It was also interesting to see that Canada and Australia had around the same number of items sold, but Australia had a 60% higher average than Canada.

This could mean that Australians have more valuable Pokémon cards than Canadians.

Same with Japan and the United States.

Japan had a 27% higher average cost than the United States but only had 19.62% of items sold compared to the United States which had 62% of the items sold.

We also looked at One37pm and found that the most valuable collector Pokemon cards are printed in Japanese .

Pokmon Game #14 Raichu Holo

Average Value in PSA 10: $2,296

Players of the Yellow version of the original video game were introduced to the world of Pokémon with the reliable companion of Ash Ketchum, Pikachu. After a steady diet of hard-fought battles, a well-timed Thunder Stone and ketchup if you watched the anime Pikachu evolves into the more powerful but equally reliable Raichu. Lots of face time for Pikachu throughout the franchise has likely contributed to the popularity of related cards, including this 1st Edition Holo Raichu. Prices over $2k for cards in PSA 10 condition arent shocking.

Not Worth Much: Set Of 3 Gen 1 Starters

Many fans would think that selling a set would be a good way to get more money out of it. After all, if you want one starter you might as well have all three to complete the set! However, this, unfortunately, isn’t the case and it sells for so low that most end up selling the cards separately!

Selling at around $4.00 – $20.00, in some cases, collectors and sellers, aren’t even making the money back they spent on the card pack in the first place, making this set pretty much worthless.

If you own any of the cards listed below, condition is the biggest factor in figuring out what your cards are worth. The prices below illustrate what these cards are worth after grading in mint condition as PSA 9’s & 10’s.

Important to note: It is very unlikely that your cards will grade this high if they have been played with. If you have these cards laying around in less than mint condition, it still may be worth getting them graded as long as they are in pretty good shape.

The History Of Pokemon Cards And Happy Meals

Alongside the franchise’s monumental anniversary, The Pokemon Company has partnered with McDonald’s to bring children and Pokemon fans alike Pokemon-themed Happy Meals from February to March. Each Happy Meal includes the standard Happy Meal food of choice, a Pikachu-themed Happy Meal box, and a mini booster card pack of 4 Pokemon TCG cards. Happy Meal also include a mini picture frame, deck box, or sticker sheets. Unsurprisingly, the limited-time Pokemon cards have skyrocketed in both popularity and price, and while each card has the same likelihood of appearing in a pack, here are the hardest to find McDonald’s Pokemon cards.

Valuable: 1st Edition Pikachu

Whilst the 1st edition Squirtle card isn’t worth the world, this Pikachu one certainly is. What makes it so valuable is how rare it is, especially since there are actually two versions of this, one with red cheeks and one with yellow cheeks . Therefore, the red cheeks edition is much more valuable.

Coming in at an average of $400 , this card is particularly sought after and if any collectors have one, you could make some pretty good money!

Pokemon Snap Trainer Magazine Pikachu: $900

How much are 1995 cards worth

If you were a Pokemon fan back in the days of the Nintendo 64 console, you might just remember the classic spin-off game Pokemon Snap. The object of this Pokemon spin-off was to snap creative in-game photos of various creatures, and there were several tie-in cards in Japans Pokemon Trainer Magazine to help increase the hype among fans to try this new game.

This card was a Pikachu card with the model from Pokemon Snap as the art, making for a relatively hilarious-looking card that only could be found within this magazine in 1999. Miyabihobby has a record of an unopened magazine being sold for 100,000, or about $900 USD, but PSA Card has records of auctions ranging between $300 and $1000 for perfect condition grades.
