Pokemon Bank Becoming Unavailable

HOW TO TRANSFER FROM POKÉMON GO TO POKÉMON HOME AND SWORD & SHIELD!

Nintendo announced that sometime in March 2023, the Nintendo 3DS eShop will be shut down alongside the Wii U storefront. This means when it closes, Pokemon Bank will no longer be available to download. The Pokemon Company announced afterward that the Pokemon Cloud service would become free to use, provided fans download the application before the eShop shutters.

While the quick announcement to put fans at ease was nice, The Pokemon Company didn’t clarify how long the service would continue after the eShop’s closure. There’s a chance it may remain open for as long as the Nintendo 3DS’s Wi-Fi services run, but there’s no concrete evidence. Even as Pokemon Bank can be used at no cost after the shutdown, there’s no telling on how long the service will be around. Without Pokemon Bank to bridge the gap, older Pokemon titles before Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee! will be cut off. Around 49 of the franchise’s creatures won’t be available to fans, as the only way to obtain them is through these games.

How To Transfer Pokemon From Go To Sword & Shield

It’s important to mention that only Pokemon from the first generation are currently allowed to be transferred from Pokemon Go. This also includes the Pokemon’s Galarian form if the original is from the first generation. The player will need a copy of Pokemon Go, Pokemon Home, Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu or Eevee, and a copy of Pokemon Sword or Shield. Here’s how players can do it.

  • Step 1: Reach Fuchsia City in Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee or Pikachu.
  • Step 2: Head into the Safari Zone. This will unlock the ability to transfer over Pokemon from Pokemon Go.
  • Step 3: Head into the menu and navigate to the Pokemon Go section to connect them.
  • Step 4: Open Pokemon Go then head to the settings and connect to your Nintendo Switch.
  • Step 5: Speak to the person in the Safari Zone to select which Pokemon to bring over. Confirm on both the phone and Switch.
  • Step 6: Play a small mini-game to capture them all.
  • Step 7: Boot up Pokemon Home and connect with Pokemon Let’s Go.
  • Step 8: Bring the Pokemon from Let’s Go into Pokemon Home.
  • Step 9: Transfer the eligible Pokemon from Pokemon Home into Pokemon Sword & Shield.

That’s how players can transfer over there Pokemon from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Sword & Shield.

Pokemon Go is available now on iOS and Android.

How To Actually Transfer Pokmon From Pokmon Go To Pokmon Home

Once youve linked your Nintendo account, you can head back into Settings at any time to access the Pokémon Home transfer system. In the Pokémon Home tab, click Send Pokémon to begin.

Before we go any further, Im going to remind you that any Pokémon you transport to Pokémon Home cannot come back! This is a one-way ticket, so dont transfer anything that you might regret.

Youll now see a screen with the Pokémon Home transporter on it, and a full energy bar . Click continue to be taken to your familiar Pokémon screen. However, there are a few Pokémon that you cant transfer:

  • Spinda
  • Shadow Pokémon
  • Mega-Evolved Pokémon

Lucky and Purified Pokémon will lose their bonuses when transferred, and the following Pokémon will change forms:

  • Origin Forme Giratina will become Altered Forme Giratina
  • Sunshine Form Cherrim will become Overcast Form Cherrim
  • Sunny Form, Rainy Form, and Snowy Form Castform will become Castform in its usual form

Otherwise, select the Pokémon you want to transfer up to a maximum of 27 at once, or until you run out of energy and click next. Youll see how much Go Transporter Energy this transfer will cost and be reminded of the Pokémon you selected. Click transport to complete the transfer.

Transferring Pokmon From Go To Home

Once your accounts are linked, you can transfer Pokémon using the Go Transporter. To do this, go to your settings, select Pokémon Home, and hit Send Pokémon.

From here, you can select any of the Pokémon you want to move. Keep in mind that you cannot transfer hat- or costume-wearing Pokémon, as well as Shadow or Mega Evolved Pokémon.

You can only transfer a limited number of Pokemon, as the Go Transporter only has a certain amount of energy. The energy recharges over time, but you can also opt to spend 1,000 Pokécoins to fill it back up instantly. It takes a little bit less than one week to refill the Go Transporter when its completely empty.

Transferring a Shiny Pokémon or Mythical Pokémon costs about 1/4 of the bar, and transferring a Shiny Legendary Pokémon depletes the entire bar. Transferring a regular Legendary Pokémon costs less than 1/6 of the bar.

You can only transfer Legendary Pokémon to Sword and Shield if youve already obtained them in that game, so dont get your hopes up if youre just trying to quickly complete your Pokédex.

If the Pokémon has a higher combat power, it will also cost a bit more.

Whats up Trainers! The feature to send Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME is now live!

Pokémon HOME is a service that helps us transfer Pokémon from our Pokémon Go account to Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield on the Nintendo Switch. At the moment, this feature is only available to trainers level 37 and higher. If you are of a lower level, dont worry as always, new features are often first released for a small group of people for testing, and then gradually released for all trainers.

In this article, we are going to go over all the detail on how to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME.

How To Move Pokmon From Game Boy Advance And Ds Pokmon Games To Pokmon Home

Though not officially supported by Pokémon Bank or Pokémon Home, it is possible to get creatures from the other games in the series, such as Ruby and Sapphire or Diamond and Pearl, over to modern games.

The following games require a much more convoluted process to transfer Pokémon to either the Pokémon Bank and beyond. Again, note that all of these are one-way transfers only – meaning you cannot get these Pokémon back onto their original games once transferred.

Here’s what’s supported from older generations:

  • Gen 1: Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow – not possible
  • Gen 2: Pokémon Gold, Silver, Crystal – not possible
  • Gen 3: Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen – transfer to Gen 4 by inserting the Gen 3 into a DS, then using the Pal Park feature. See the Gen 4 step below to continue.
  • Gen 4: Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver – transfer to Gen 5 by connecting two DS or 3DS systems together using the Transfer Station. You can now use the Poké Transporter to transfer to Pokémon Bank.

You’d hope so, wouldn’t you? Although from past experience perhaps we can expect an entirely new system that will unify the previous systems in a totally new and even more complicated manner.

We’re joking. With its mobile integration, it’s a good bet that Pokémon HOME will be the storage and trading app for all your Pokémon needs for the foreseeable future.

We’ll update this guide with more information over the next few days. We’ll also add new information regarding Pokémon GO compatibility as it becomes available.

Pokmon Go To Home Limitations Gigantamax Melmetal And Mystery Box Rewards And Other Things To Know About Transferring From Go To Home

How To Transfer Pokemon From Let

There are a few other things to bear in mind when transferring Pokémon from Go to Home.

  • The first time you do so, you’ll recieve a Gigantamax Melmetal as a reward! You can claim it via the Mystery Gift function on the mobile version of Home only.
  • You’ll also be able to open a Mystery Box in Pokémon Go, causing Meltan to appear for a set period of time. More on that in our Melmetal and Mystery Boxes guide!
  • Not all Pokémon can be transferred from Go to Home. Specifically, you can’t transfer Spinda, Kyurem Black/White, any Shadow or Mega Evolved Pokémon, or any of the special event Pokémon that have an altered appearance, like Armoured Mewtwo, Party Hat Pikachu or the Flower Crown Eeveelutions.
  • Pokémon with different forms in Go will default to a specific form in Home . Specifically this will alter forms to:
    • Castform Sunny/Rainy/Snowy – Castform Normal
    • Meloetta Pirouette – Meloetta Aria
    • Genesect Burn/Chill/Douse/Shock – Genesect Normal
  • Certain Pokémon require you to have caught them or registered them in your Pokédex first, in order for you to transfer them from Home to Sword and Shield. In brief, these are all of the legendaries/mythicals catachable in Sword and Shield via Dynamax Adventures, plus Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Victini and Genesect. You can view the full list in the Home mobile app by going to Help – Other – Pokémon you can send to other games.

How Do I Transfer Pokmon From Previous Generations To Pokmon Sword And Shield

This will involve the use of Pokémon Bank, the previous system used to store and trade Pokémon up until Gen 7. THIS FEATURE IS ONLY AVAILABLE WITH POKÉMON HOME’S PREMIUM PLAN.

You can find out more information on the official Pokémon Bank website, but as a rule, once you’ve moved Pokémon from earlier Gens to Pokémon Bank, they can’t be transferred back, so make sure you’re happy ‘losing’ them from your original games. The following infographic from the Pokémon Bank website shows which games permit deposits-only or deposits and withdrawals, but remember: TRANSFERS FROM POKÉMON BANK TO POKÉMON HOME ARE ONE-WAY ONLY:

The 3DS app has an annual fee of $4.99, but for the first month of Pokémon HOME, users can access Pokémon Bank free-of-charge, so there’s no time like the present if you’re eager to move all your Pokémon to the latest storage system.

Here are some details from the lovely Alex with regards to the convoluted process of transferring your legacy Pokémon up the daisy chain into Pokémon Bank and, from there, to Pokémon HOME. Over to Alex:
