How To Evolve Eevee Into Sylveon In Pokmon Go
Sylveon was finally released into Pokémon Go on May 25th, 2021 as part of the Luminous Legends Y event.
Though it can only be used once, the easiest way to evolve an Eevee into Sylveon is to change its nickname to Kira and ensure you have at least 25 Eevee Candy.
Before you press evolve, however, make sure the silhouette for Sylveon is on the evolve button – if it’s not then you’re Eevee may evolve into a different Eeveelution.
If this does occur for the you, it can be easily fixed by closing Pokémon Go and opening it again.
Once you’ve used the name trick, Eevee can be evolved into Sylveon by earning 70 Buddy hearts with it, which means your chosen Eevee needs to be at Great Buddy Level. Swapping buddies will not reset your progress towards Sylveon, so feel free to change your Buddy Pokémon freely.
You’ll also still need 25 Eevee Candy.
This evolution method is in keeping with how you must have a high friendship level with an Eevee, along with it knowing a fairy-type move, if you wish to evolve it into a Sylveon in the main-line series.
Don’t worry about Eevee evolving into Espeon or Umbreon instead, because, thanks to gamewith_pkgo from Twitter, we know Sylveon will appear as a separate evolution option, allowing you to pick the correct Eeveeultion.

This guide describes how to evolve each Eevee form in Pokémon GO, including Eevee name tricks and regular evolution methods. Learn how to get Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon in Pokémon GO.
Similar to the anime and main series games, there is a special method in Pokémon GO to evolve Eevee into any desired evolution form, also called Eevolution as a blending of Pokémons name and the word evolution.
The trick is accomplished by giving Eevee a specific nickname before evolving it. This guide contains a list of all Eevee evolution names, and also a detailed overview on how to regularly evolve Eevee into a desired form.
How To Get Leafeon & Glaceon In Pokemon Go
Having used the Eevee names trick once in Pokemon Go, for the Gen IV mon, Leafeon and Glaceon, youll need to either buy or earn a Glacial Lure Module and a Mossy Lure Module. They can both be bought in the in-game Shop for 200 PokeCoins, but can very rarely be earned via tasks.
Once youve got one in hand, follow these steps:
- Go to a nearby PokeStop and place the Lure down on it: Glacial for Glaceon, and Mossy for Leafeon. They each last for 30 minutes.
- Then, you can simply click on the usual Evolve button on Eevees page and itll transform into whichever one youve picked.

How To Evolve Espeon And Umbreon In Pokmon Go
- Espeon
- Umbreon
You can evolve Espeon and Umbreon by using the Eevee name trick or by using the Buddy Pokémon evolution method.
In order to get Espeon or Umbreon do the following steps with your Eevee Buddy:
- Set the Eevee you wish to evolve as your Buddy
- Walk at least 10 km with Eevee and earn 2 Eevee Candies with your Buddy
- Evolve the Eevee while its your Buddy
- Evolving an Eevee during day time will give you Espeon
- Evolving an Eevee during night time will give you Umbreon
Eevee must be set as a buddy before the evolution. After making sure all criteria are met, evolving during the day will get the trainer a Psychic type Espeon, while Dark type Umbreon will make its appearance at night time in the Pokémon GO app.
Since the day and night are determined by local time, the GPS signal is also required otherwise the evolution will be random.
None of the Pokémon that require a special item or task to evolve spawn in the wild, including both Espeon and Umbreon. The Buddy System method can be used repeatedly making it the only reliable way to obtain them.
How To Rename Eevee In Pokmon Go
To rename Eevee, simply tap on the Pokéball icon at the bottom center of the screen, then on Pokémon, and select the Eevee you want to evolve. After that, tap on the pen icon beside Eevees name, and type in the nickname of the Eevee evolution you want to get. But heres the catch: you can only use this naming technique once.

How To Evolve Umbreon & Espeon In Pokemon Go
Unlike the previous evolutions, however, Umbreon and Espeon dont evolve from Eevee at random, requiring specific actions to get them.
- Espeon: For the Psychic-type, youll need to make Eevee your Buddy and walk 10km with them. After this, the mons Evolve button should show the silhouette of Espeon during the day.
- Umbreon: This method is almost identical for Umbreon, except you need to evolve the Pokemon at night.
The Main Way To Get Leafeon
If youre looking for another Leafeon after using the naming trick already, you really dont have many options left outside of the usual way.
The usual way of evolving Eevee into Leafeon is to use a Mossy Lure module on a nearby Pokestop, and then try to evolve Eevee. Doing so should give a picture of Leafeon in the evolution button, showing its been done correctly.
Luckily this method works as much as you need it to and can be repeated infinitely, though the requirement of a Mossy Lure module does put a hard cost of 200 coins to buy the item required each time.
Be aware that you do need to be close to the Pokestop with the Lure module attached if youre too far away, it wont count!

How To Catch Shiny Eevee In Pokemon Go
The upcoming Community Day in Pokemon Go will feature Eevee. The event is scheduled from August 14, 2021, to August 15, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 05:00 AM local time. Naturally, the Pokemon will appear more in the wild, increasing the chance of players encountering a shiny Eevee as well. Additionally, the event will also provide quite a few bonuses to players, including a 3-hour incense which helps to attract the Pokemon, a 1/4 egg hatch distance and 3-hour lures to be used at the PokeStops as well.
The Pokemon website says on a blog post related to the upcoming Community Day that During this event, Eevee will be appearing more frequently in the wild, and you might find a Shiny one if youre lucky! Additionally, if a player evolves Eevee from August 13, 2021, to August 16, 2021, the evolutionary form will know a special attack. While catching the Pokemon by using a PokeBall, feed the Eevee with Pinap Berries to increase the chances of owning it.

How to evolve Eevee continues to be one of the bigger talking points in Pokémon Go.

Pokemon Go Eeveelution Names Trick
Using the nickname trick in is simple, but you can only do it once per Eeveelution, meaning every following evolution will require a slightly different approach.

To rename your Eevee, simply tap the pencil icon next to its name while in the Pokemon menu. You need to call it something specific to get the evolution you want, so make sure you input it right before you click Evolve.
The nicknames youll need to rename your Eevee to for each evolution is as follows:

How To Walk With Your Buddy On The Map And Go On An Adventure In Pokmon Go
To earn hearts from your Buddy from certain activities such as walking or battling together they need to be visible on the map screen in Adventure mode. They will then walk, fly or roll with you as you explore for a limited time.
To make them appear on the map screen, you have to make sure they are fully fed.
Feed your Buddy some Berries three regular Berries will do and their mood will increase, and youll be told they will have joined you on an Adventure.
They will join you on the map for around three hours, with a hunger gauge appearing around their icon next to the Trainer button in the bottom left corner.
Feel free to top that gauge up with Berries as you play, or just wait until its fully depleted before feeding them again.
Note if you switch between Buddies, their hunger meter will fully empty, so youll have to feed them again. While at this sounds frustrating, a benefit is youll be able to feed them again quicker if you switch back and forth, and earn some fast and easy Hearts.

How To Find Pokmon Legends: Arceus Eevee
You can find Eevee surprisingly early on in Pokémon Legends: Arceus by going to the Horseshoe Plains area of the Obsidian Fieldlands. It spends its time circling the small lakes in the north, shown on the map below, with other less-rare Pokémon surrounding it. It looks a little lonely there, so even better for adding to your team.
Despite its cute-as-a-button appearance, Eevee is quite the guard dog, and will attack like any other territorial Pokémon if you spook it by getting too close. Feather balls can help you out a great deal here, but if youre still early in your playthrough, you should be able to sneak around enough to land yourself an Eevee with a regular Pokéball.
How To Choose Your Eevee Evolution
Here are the Eevee evolutions that are available and the codename that you will need to choose who they turn into:

If you don’t change the name, the Eevee will evolve into any of the forms that are available in Pokemon Go: Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Umbreon, Espeon, Leafeon or Glaceon.
But what are these names you have to change? They are the names of the Pokemon owners, dug out from Pokelore. So, for example, Espeon was Sakura’s, and one of her older sisters is Tamao, who owned Umbreon.
The original Eevee evolutions – Sparky, Rainer and Pyro – that you’ll need to control evolution to Jolteon, Vaporeon and Flareon respectively, again come from the Eevee brothers in Pokemon anime.

How To Evolve To Sylveon
Sylveon debuted in Pokémon GO in May 2021, and is obtained through two methods. Apart from the nickname , Niantic has chosen in this case the method of friendship to forge a relationship that will result in the Fairy-type evolution of Eevee: buddy hearts. By earning 70 hearts being Eevee our buddy, that’s when it will evolve to Sylveon. No additional candies are necessary.

How Does One Evolve Sylveon In Pokemon Go
The introduction of Gen VI Pokemon to Pokemon Go is well underway but Sylveon and Eevees Fairy type evolution, has not yet made its Pokemon Go debut. We do not know when Niantic will introduce subsequent and final Eeveelution, but it cannot be too far away. Sylveon has appeared within the Pokemon Go splash screen and data miners have even uncovered the nickname for Sylveon. As for Sylveons normal evolution manner, that is still a mystery.
Since neither mechanic exists in Pokemon Go, well need to wait and see how Niantic chooses to implement this Eeveelution however, my best guess is that itll involve Pokemon Go Buddy Adventure.
Pokemon Go Eevee Evolution Nicknames
The first, and easiest, way to evolve Eevee into its evolutions is whats known as the nickname trick. Trainers can guarantee any of Eevees evolutions in Pokemon Go once each using this Eevee nickname method.
Simply nicknaming your Eevee one of the special names will grant trainers the Eeveelution of their choice. Use 25 Eevee candy and your Eevee will evolve to the evolution with the corresponding nickname.
- Vaporeon: Rainer
- Glaceon: Rea
- Sylveon: Kira
Choose carefully trainers because once this trick is done once for each species, you wont be able to do it again.

How To Find Shiny Eevee In Pokemon Go
Starting on May 25th, Eevee will be appearing a lot more in the game to celebrate the release of Sylveon. This is the player’s chance to obtain a Shiny Eevee. Here are all of the different ways players can focus on finding one. It’s imp0rtant to mention that it is completely up to chance to find a Shiny Eevee. These methods will just make it a bit easier.
- In The Wild: Eevee will begin to appear in the wild more frequently. It has the chance to be Shiny.
- Event Field Research: Completing certain Field Research tasks during this event will reward players with an Eevee encounter. This has the chance to be Shiny.
- Lure Module: This item will increase the spawn rate of Pokemon nearby. This means a higher chance to find a Shiny Eevee.
- Incense: Similar to the Lure Module, this will increase the spawn rate of Eevee.
- Eggs: Eevee will begin to appear in 7km eggs. It has the chance to hatch Shiny.
Ultimately, it’s completely up to luck but not impossible. Players will just need to be active during the event. This event comes to a close at the end of May.

How To Evolve Eevee Without The Name Trick
Unfortunately Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon all evolve randomly from Eevee. However, Umbreon, Espeon, Glaceon, and Leafeon have alternative methods.
Umbreon and Espeon both evolve after walking with the Eevee as your buddy Pokémon for 10 kilometers. Once thats done, the buddy Eevee evolved during the night will yield Umbreon while the day will yield Espeon. Note that when you evolve Eevee, it still needs to be your buddy Pokémon for this trick to work.
Leafeon and Glaceon can both be reliably evolved from spinning a Mossy Lure or a Glacial Lure, respectively. After spinning a Pokéstop with these Lure Modules active, the next Eevee you will evolve will become its leaf or ice form. Note that you need to be in range of the Lure Module. You will see the chosen Eevee evolution icon change once youve spun one of these lured Pokéstops.
Sylveonwill evolve after being set as your buddy Pokémon and earning 70 hearts with it. This will take several days of play, but you can speed up the process by using Poffins.

Alpha Shiny Eevee Location In Pokemon Legends Arceus
You can find an Alpha Shiny Eevee in the wild as soon as you gain access to the first map, the Obsidian Fieldlands. But just be warned: its not easy to spawn, especially in its rare Shiny version.
A Shiny Alpha may also be found during Mass and Massive Mass Outbreaks if youre lucky enough to get an Eevee one. You can reset the Outbreaks by saving in Jubilife Village before warping into an area. If the mon doesnt show up, close your game down and reboot, repeating this until it does.
The same method is applied when hunting for one in the wild: save in the village before heading into a map. In the Obsidian Fieldlands, for example, go to Horseshoe Plains where, with a slim chance, an Alpha Shiny Eevee may appear. If it doesnt, reload your game and re-enter the area as many times as needed. They can also pop up in Space-Time Distortions.
Here is where Eevee is known to show up in the wild:
- Obsidian Fieldlands Horseshoe Plains
- Cobalt Coastlands Crossing Slope
- Alabaster Icelands Avalanche Slopes, Avaluggs Legacy
Its not a simple task at all, especially since an Alpha Eevee spawn is rare in itself so a Shiny version has insanely small odds. If you raise the Research Level of every single Pokemon to 10, youll be gifted the Shiny Charm which boosts your chances, though its still difficult. But its not impossible, so keep trying.
