Wild Weather In The Wild Area

You’ll find that each section of the Wild Area has some sortof persistent weather, and that weather will have a big impact on what you findthere. Not only will the weather affect conditions in battle, but it’ll alsohelp determine which Pokémon appear.

Many Pokémon will appear only during a specific weathercondition. For instance, you’ll generally see more Water, Electric, and Dragon typesduring thunderstorms, and some rare Pokémon appear only during rare types ofweather.

As usual, the weather can have a direct impact in battle, too. This can be in the form of more traditional weather effects , effects normally unrelated to weather , or both. For instance, battles during thunderstorms will feature both heavy rain andElectric Terrain.

You can use the weather forecast on your Town Map to keep aneye on changing conditions. When there is particularly rare weather in the WildArea , you’ll see itannounced when you open the X menu. The weather changes each day, so don’tforget to check back!

How To Hunt For Shiny Pokemon

From the odds above, it’s easy to see that Mass Outbreaks are the way to go. Mass Outbreaks started occurring for us after completing the eighth main mission, Arezu’s Predicament. Here’s how to Shiny Hunt using Mass Outbreaks.

  • Before even thinking of Shiny hunting, you must turn off auto-save from the Settings menu.
  • Also ensure you have plenty of Ultra Balls in your Satchel, or the best type of Poke Ball you can craft. Stealth Spray and Smoke Bombs are good tools for this, too.
  • Unfortunately, Mass Outbreaks occur randomly when you leave Jubilife Village. The Guard will tell you about them, and then the Outbreak Icon with the Pokemon’s picture on it will appear on the map.
  • To trigger Mass Outbreaks, simply leave Jubilife, return, and repeat, until an icon appears.
  • Save in Jubilife Village, just in case, then leave to the Mass Outbreak.
  • Catch all the Pokemon in the Mass Outbreak to force more to spawn. Hiding in grass, or in the smoke of a Smoke Bomb, is the easiest way to do this fast. If they’re not Shiny, reset the game.
  • This time, leave Jubilife Village to the area with the Mass Outbreak, go back to Jubilife Village, and then return. The Pokemon that spawn this time will be different.
  • Unfortunately, there’s no way to guarantee how long the Outbreak will last for. It may disappear after just the first visit.
  • Repeat until a Shiny Pokemon Spawns! This isn’t guaranteed for each Outbreak, but it does greatly increase your chances.

Ok Fine Just Tell Me How To Catch ’em All

First, you have to find as many Pokémon as you can. That means finding spawns or nests where those types of Pokémon are common. Then tap, tap, tap away and see if you encounter a Shiny.

For eggs and babies, collect as many as you can. Walk as much as you can. And hatch, hatch, hatch.

For the Raid Pokémon, the story is the same. Find the Raids. Beat the Raid Boss. Hope the one you get is Shiny.

Field Research. Find the tasks that give you a Pokémon with a Shiny form, then work with your community to find the PokéStops giving away the right tasks, and then complete as many as you can.

Shiny Field Research Pokémon have a 0% flee rate, but for everything else, remember your basics:

  • ABC. Always be curving. Once you can nail Curve Ball every time, you’ll get a 1.7x bonus every time.
  • Max out your medals. Some are easier to get than others but they consume no resources like Great or Ultra Balls or Razz Berries, so once you get them, that 1.1x to 1.3x is automatically applied each time.
  • Consistency counts. Aim for the smallest target you can nail every time. If that’s Nice, it’s nice. If that’s Great or Excellent, even nicer. But better the bonus you get then one you miss, and that extra 1.3 to 2x also doesn’t consume resources and can make a difference.
  • Razz for real. Use Razz Berries when you need to. Unlike Great or Ultra Balls, you can’t miss with a Razz Berry and its 1.5x bonus will last until you hit. For the new Golden Razz Berries, it’s 2.5x!

All Shiny Pokemon by SuperSimpsons.deviantart.com on ...

Pokémon Legends: Arceus brings a brand new experience to the Pokémon fanbase. Players get to run around chasing Pokémon in the overworld and work to defeat or catch them in various ways. Fortunately for all of us shiny hunters, shiny Pokémon can be seen directly in the overworld, which means that you just need to chase them down and then work on capturing them if you see one.

As with most games, the shiny catching rate starts at 1/4096, but there are some things you can do to lower the odds and increase your chances to just 1:128.49. Since this game is so new, we still have to learn a lot. We’ll continue to research and update as time goes on.

SPOILER WARNING: This page is heavy with spoilers, so turn away now if you don’t want things to be ruined for you.

How To Get Shiny Pokemon In Pokemon Go

If you’ve been playing Pokemon Go for a long time and never stumbled across a shiny, don’t be surprised. The Pokemon Go shiny odds are roughly 1 in 450. This means that every time you tap on a Pokemon to catch it in Pokemon Go – if it has a shiny version – there is a 1 in 450 chance it will be shiny.

However, these odds are dramatically increased on Pokemon Go Community Day to 1 in 25. Community Day happens once a month in Pokemon Go, when a specific Pokemon will flood the streets and appear almost everywhere. Along with the other benefits usually found during Community Day, Pokemon Go shinies become much more popular and you’d have to be considerably unlucky to not find a shiny during Community Day.

You won’t know if you’ve found a shiny Pokemon or not until you tap on it and enter the encounter. If the colour change is subtle, you’ll also know you’ve found a shiny if a bunch of sparks fly out from the Pokemon before you throw the first ball. Once you’ve caught a Pokemon Go shiny, you can search for “shiny” in your list of Pokemon to show you your full Pokemon Go shiny list.

    The Impact Of Gym Badges

You’ll gradually gain access to more and more of the WildArea as you progress in your adventure, so it’s best to revisit it as youcomplete major objectives. Plus, if you wander too far in your first trip tothe Wild Area, you’ll definitely find some Pokémon so powerful that you don’thave good odds of defeating them!

Until you have all eight Gym Badges, there’ll be a cap onhow many Exp. Points very high-level wild Pokémon can give. For instance, ifyou have only two Gym Badges, any opposing Pokémon over Lv. 35 will give Exp.Points as though it were a Lv. 35 Pokémon. You’ll also need to collect Gym Badgesto trigger higher-level Max Raid Battles, with the five-star level onlybecoming available after you’ve obtained the Dragon Badge.

The weather you experience in the Wild Area will also berestricted early in your journey. You won’t see blizzards or sandstorms untilyou’ve reached Hammerlocke, and you won’t see fog until you’ve become Champion.

Having more Gym Badges may also impact which items youreceive from other features in the Wild Area. For example, there are hikers whowill give you items in return for 100 Watts. The quality of these items willincrease a little once you have two Gym Badgesand again once you becomeChampion.

You’ll also need to become Champion before certain largerPokémon appear wandering around outside of the tall grass in the Wild Area. Finally, you’ll receive far more Watts from Pokémon Dens after you’ve becomeChampion.

Are Shiny Rates Boosted During Spotlight Hour

Shiny rates do not appear to be boosted during Spotlight Hours, based on data gathered by Pokémon community The Silph Road. However, the sheer number of Pokémon that spawn during the hourlong weekly event will give you an improved chance of clicking on a random shiny. The more Pokémon you click on, the more opportunity you have to catch a Shiny Pokémon.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus does explain the basic concept of a Shiny through an early side quest, called “A Peculiar Ponyta.” That quest will guarantee you a Shiny Ponyta, as well as show you the types of visual distinctions you can expect. The Shiny Ponyta in that quest burns with a blue flame instead of red.

Any other Shiny Pokemon will need to be discovered organically, and as you might expect, this is much more difficult.

Pokmon Legends Arceus: What Are Mass Outbreaks And How Do You Unlock Them

Simply put, Mass Outbreaks are random events that basically tell you when an area has been flooded with a particular Pokémon. They basically increase your odds of finding specific Pokémon in a particular region as long as the event is active. While the outbreaks usually correspond to a certain Pokémon , there have been some conflicting reports which suggest that the game will occasionally use these events to increase your odds of finding a small pool of Pokémon in that area. However, its not clear at this time whether those reported incidents are intentional, exaggerated, or simply the result of an error.

    Ad content continues below

You dont necessarily need to do anything to unlock Mass Outbreaks . Instead, theyll happen at random as youre playing the game. Youll be able to spot one by scrolling between the various areas on your map and looking for a Mass Outbreak notification in the top left. From there, you simply need to tour the typical Pokémon hot spots and see if youre lucky enough to find more creatures than usual. Alternatively, the gate guard at Jubilife Village will let you know when an outbreak is occurring.

Theres no word regarding the official appearance rate of these Mass Outbreaks, but it is pretty clear at this point that some players seem to encounter them more often than others. It does seem like beating the main quest increases your odds of one occurring, but it is possible for Mass Outbreaks to occur before then.

    Are Shiny Pokmon Any Stronger

Its easy to think that a super rare variant of a Pokémon would be much stronger than its normal counterparts, but the reality is, unless youre playing in Pokémon Gold, Silver, or Crystal, the answer is a definite no, Shiny Pokémon are not any stronger or weaker than normal Pokémon! Period. Its purely cosmetic.

But what about Gold, Silver, and Crystal, you may be wondering? Its a bit complicated to explain, but back then, Shininess was determined based on a Pokémons random stats its IVs, or, more correctly, its DVs. There were only certain, fixed combinations that resulted in a Pokémon being Shiny, and while Shiny Pokémon didnt have perfect DVs, most combinations were stronger than average, especially when it came to Attack.

Since a Pokémons gender was also determined based on DVs back then, this resulted in it being impossible to have a female Shiny Pokémon for any Pokémon with a 87.5% chance of being male, such as starter Pokémon.

Starting with Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, shininess is calculated completely separately from IVs , so Shiny Pokémon from these games onward have no statistical advantage over non-Shiny Pokémon.

    Pokmon Go Shiny Pokmon

Shiny Pokémon are special versions of a Pokémon with a different coloration. Unlike the main series games, shinies in Pokémon GO are much more common – the standard rate is believed to be around 1 in 500 . Many Pokémon have an even higher shiny rate: some perma-boosted Pokémon are around a 1/60 chance most legendaries in raids are around 1/20 chance and on Community Days, where one Pokémon appears everywhere in the wild, the shiny rate is around 1/25.

However, in Pokémon GO not every Pokémon can be shiny. When the game first launched no shinies were available. Over time, more and more Pokémon have become shiny-eligible. In most cases only the base form may be shiny in the wild – for example a Ratatta found in the wild could be shiny, but its evolution Raticate cannot. Sometimes those higher evos can be shiny in special raid events , and since the introduction of Mega Evolutions any Pokémon whose Mega has been released can be shiny, like Blastoise or Beedrill.

Below we display every shiny Pokémon sprite that is in Pokémon GO. You can compare with the Pokémon’s non-shiny sprite by tapping or hovering your mouse over it. Pokémon marked with a star* next to the name have had their shiny released. In total there are 558 shiny Pokémon available in the game.

What Are The Shiny Rates In Pokemon Legends Arceus

Arrekz Gaming did the math and found the same base Shiny Pokemon spawn rates apply in Pokemon Legends as in every other mainline Pokemon game with Shinies. Without any modifiers, you have a 1 in 4,096 chance of finding a Shiny Pokemon in the wild. You can still get the usual modifier, the Shiny Charm, but Legends has a few other ways to increase your Shiny spawn chance.

Pokmon Legends: Arceus: How To Catch Shiny Pokmon

All Shiny Pokémon in the Pokémon Anime!

To increase the appearance rate of shiny Pokémon, players should first work toward completing the Pokédex. Unlike prior Pokémon games, players will need to do a lot more than just see a regional Pokémon to complete its Pokédex entry. Each time a player successfully completes a specific Pokémon’s Pokédex entry and raises it to level 10, as indicated by the total points in the Pokédex, their odds increase to 1/2048.25 for that Pokémon appearing shiny in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. A level 10 Pokédex entry means that the player has completed enough of the specific goals to raise the entry for that Pokémon to level 10. Completing the Pokédex in full for a specific Pokémon will increase the odds of finding a shiny for that Pokémon to 1/1024.38.

Additionally, Mass Outbreaks, where a bunch of the same Pokémon appear in the same area at once, increase the odds of finding a shiny to 1/158.02. If players obtained level 10 for the specific Pokémon in their Pokédex that is experiencing a Mass Outbreak, the odds are further increased to 1/152.19 for finding a shiny. While Mass Outbreaks are a great opportunity for finding shiny Pokémon, they are a timed event so players should spend as much time as possible catching the specific Pokémon to cause as many respawns as they can within the time limit.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is available for Nintendo Switch.

Pokmon Legends Arceus: How Do You Catch More Shiny Pokmon During Mass Outbreaks

Interestingly, it turns out that Mass Outbreaks increase the appearance rate of shiny versions of the Pokémon affected by them. While it was initially believed that your increased chances of finding shiny Pokémon during Mass Outbreaks was simply based on the fact there are more Pokémon to find during them , it seems like Mass Outbreaks also increase the natural spawn rate of shiny Pokémon.

To hunt shiny Pokémon during a Mass Outbreak, you really just need to participate in them. The exact odds of finding one are currently being calculated, but one of the more popular estimates Ive heard floating around is that youll probably find a shiny Pokémon during at least one out of every 10 Mass Outbreaks you participate in. A little practical playtime seems to confirm that estimate is at least roughly accurate, but the bigger takeaway here should be that Mass Outbreaks are your best chance to hunt for shiny Pokémon.
