Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Preorder Bonuses
While no retailers have announced physical goodies as preorder bonuses, it’s pretty common for Nintendo Switch exclusives to have bonuses linked to specific retailers. So, at this time, it’s not a huge deal where you decide to preorder your copy.
That said, there are purchase bonuses for Scarlet and Violet. If you purchase Scarlet or Violet by February 28, 2023, you’ll get a special Pikachu with the Mystery Gift function. This Pikachu knows Fly and its Tera Type is Flying, too.

Who Are The Starters
As mentioned previously, the starters are the Grass-type Sprigatito, the Fire-type Fuecoco, and the Water-type Quaxly. At the moment, we do not know what their final evolutions look like, however, all three of them look like awesome picks and it will definitely be a hard choice for many people out there. Although, I’m heavily partial to Sprigatito myself, even though I don’t usually go for Grass-type starters.
Regardless of which one you choose, this is sure to be an awesome new Pokémon adventure filled with charming moments and epic battles.
Tell Me More About Koraidon And Miraidon
We still don’t know a ton about these Legendary creatures, but we do know that players who purchase Scarlet will have the chance to capture Koraidon while those who purchase Violet will be able to capture Miraidon. It’s rumored that Koraidon is Dragon/Fighting while Miraidon is rumored to be Dragon/Electric. From the way they look, this seems like it could be accurate.

Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Trailer
The announcement trailer starts with a security guard patrolling an office building at night. Strange things start to happen when they reach the Game Freak department, including a flickering of the lights and a brightly lit room beyond a door. A foreshadowing scarlet and violet glow eerily shines on one of the walls. Beyond the doorway is a room of curiosities. After a sudden breeze and another flickering of lights, the camera zooms towards a brightly lit frame.
Fading in from white, the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer shows glimpses of the new region and new Pokemon towns. Familiar Pokemon including Pikachu, Drifloon, Combee and Meowth make their appearances in what seems to be a lush open-world environment, not too dissimilar to Pokemon Sword and Shield. More scenes showcasing a Pokemon town square and other urban areas follow, plus a close-up of a rather charming Dratini fountain outside a manor.
The trailer then shows a house by a cliff-side. A young trainer runs up to the house, while another wanders around inside. After walking past a white Nintendo Switch, the trailer transitions back to a real-life Switch OLED, with the security guard in awe of what just happened. They shine their torch towards the frame and it reveals the three new starter Pokemon. The Pokemon opening theme begins to sound, followed by the new titles appearing on screen: Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, and release date info.

The sales of video games are significant for self-explanatory reasons. The better a game sells, the more the dev team gets then, they can use that money to make more games. However, there are a select set of titles every year that you know will sell well. These are the games from big-name franchises that have a history, clout with gamers, and can pull off big sales without breaking a sweat. For those titles, like the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the question is, well, how much will they sell in the first week?
For the upcoming 9th Generation of Pokemon titles, the number is looking very high, especially when you factor in the Japanese pre-orders. We wrote a piece about this last month, but now we have an update for you. Via the Japanese chain COMG, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are at over 1200 in their pre-orders. As noted by the Twitter analyst below, thats a record for Nintendo Switch games, including ones that sold multi-millions in their run:

Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Pre
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are coming to Nintendo Switch on 18th November 2022. The duo of new Pokemon games, developed by Game Freak, was announced back in February in Pokemon Presents.
Fans of the Pokemon franchise have only just been treated to the widely-popular spin-off game, Pokemon Legends: Arceus in January 2022, so news of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet also getting a 2022 release date has been a huge and exciting surprise.
UK and US retailers are, as expected, taking pre-orders for the Gen nine game. In the UK, Currys has already discounted the games by 20 per cent when you use the code “STARTER20”, shaving £10 off the RRP price of £49.99. You can also pre-order at for £42.99. Over in the States, is taking Pokemon Scarlet and Violet pre-orders for the RRP price of $59.99 and Walmart has them for $59.88.

Pokmon Scarlet And Violet Version Differences
Keeping it brief, heres what we know are exclusives to each game:
- Specific professors: Professor Sada is in Pokémon Scarlet and Professor Turo is in Pokémon Violet.
- Different player outfits: The playable characters in Scarlet are in an orange school uniform and theyre in a purple outfit in Violet.
- Cover Legendaries: The red Koraidon is a Scarlet exclusive and the purple Miraidon is a Violet exclusive.
- Pokémon: Version exclusive Pokémon have been confirmed, but so far we only know that Larvitar, Pupitar, Tyranitar, and Stonjourner will be in Scarlet, and Bagon, Shelgon, Salamence, and Eiscue will be in Violet.

A pair of new Pokémon games is coming to the Nintendo Switch console later this year, each with new and returning monsters for players to catch.
The two games will see players transported to a new region with two new professors, called Sada and Turo. From the trailers already released, we know players will get to choose from three all-new starter Pokémon called Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly, which are grass, fire and water types, respectively.
Fans of the pocket monster-catching franchise will already be very familiar with how these games are released. Starting with Red and Blue back in 1996, Pokémon games are always launched in pairs, with Scarlet and Violet set to continue that trend.
As such, these Nintendo Switch games will be available to buy individually when they go on sale later in 2023, but also as a steelcase bundle, if you have a friend or family member you want to share the game with, or just fancy collecting them all yourself.

If past Pokemon games are anything to go by, a small amount of creatures will be exclusive in each version of these games. Additionally, its been confirmed that players will have a different outfit depending on which game they are playing.
It has also since been confirmed that for the first time, one of two different professors will appear depending on which version players choose. With Pokemon Scarlet, Professor Sada will be showing up. Pokemon Violet features Professor Turo.

Where To Buy The Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Switch Oled Console
A Limited Edition Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Nintendo Switch OLED model will be released on 4th November 2022. This isn’t the first Pokemon-themed Switch console, but it is the first of the Switch OLED generation.
Most US retailers have sold out, but UK retailers Currys, Very and Game are still coming through with pre-order stock for £319.99. Base is selling it for above retail price for £334.85,
It’s worth noting that this console does not come with either Pokemon Scarlet or Violet, so if you intend on playing the latest Pokemon game, you will need to buy them separately.
